Was referred here by a friend in Santa Cruz. I needed batteries for two watches. Went there for Iphone 6 Battery replacement $69.00. Showed up at appointed time. I had wiped the phone since I don't want technicians having access to my phone data. Was told when I showed up they need to check all functions of the phone like camera, ringer, volume, speakerphone, audio jack. Sounds reasonable but since I wiped phone this is not easy on Iphone. It would be great if on their website they say they must run these tests once they accept your phone in-store. Again reasonable since they don't want to be responsible for problems with phone other than bad battery. I don't live close by so the omission on their website caused me 1/2 hour driving and no repair. I could have wiped the phone in store after the service person checked my phone was fully functional. If only I knew...... So I decided to shop elsewhere for repair and this is the biggest reason for 1 star review. Apple will replace your iphone 6 battery out of warranty for $29.00 at Genius Bar in Apple store. I guess it is is a common problem they know about. I checked other places in Santa Cruz like Click Away they charge $28.00 probably because of Apple's repair price. So I guess I should be happy Batteries Plus made me do my research and saved me $40.00. Shame on Batteries Plus. They know about Apples deal. Thank God I now know also. So you have two better choices to get an iphone 6 battery replaced either Apple or Click Away. read more

WARRANTY EFFECTIVELY DISHONORED. We bought a car battery about one year ago. In the corona virus time, left car unmoved for a month or so. Battery was dead. Jumped it, drove many miles, stopped the vehicle, attempted to restart, battery still dead. Jumped it, went to Batteries & Bulbs ("B&B") to replace. Advised that leaving the battery for a month voids the warranty. Left very unhappy. Jumped the battery, went to friendly mechanic. Friendly mechanic tested and confirmed battery dead, gave me a written report of his efforts. Also stated that letting a battery discharge does not void any warranty. Returned to B&B, was advised that, well, ok, it was true that the warranty wouldn't be dischonored just for letting the battery sit for a month, but, surprise!, I have to leave the battery overnight for B&B to conclude the battery was dead. I could walk home if I wanted, or rent a car maybe, but no, no new battery could be installed or loaned while B&B took the night to decide if the battery was dead. Back to mechanic and get new battery installed. Took old battery back to B&B. Next day, they report battery in perfect working order. Now I have to go pick up the battery and I can recover the core charge ($18). Four trips, jerked around, ripped off. No more shopping there. read more

My local AAA towing company recommended this store for car battery purchase & installation. They even checked my old battery before selling me a new one to make sure the old battery was the problem & not the alternator. Nice enough people work here, but I need to buy a new watch because they told me they could change my watch battery. Whatever you do, do not let them change the battery in your digital watch (especially a waterproof one). I know, probably my own fault for letting them. While I was there to buy a battery for it, I inquired where they would recommend I take it to have it changed. They said they could do it right then. My watch case will not seal closed now and sadly is no longer waterproof. Doh! They seemed really helpful to customers coming in for car door lock batteries, garage door opener batteries, etc. I just know now to stick to the watch shop. read more

They do not honor advertised prices. I looked for the battery I needed on-line and found it advertised on their site for $49. A little more than Amazon but very reasonable for a brick and mortar store where I can get it right away. After calling to make sure they had it in stock I drove from Santa Cruz to Scotts Valley to pick it up. The $49 advertised price became $70 in the store. 43% higher than advertised. I left and will order on-line. I realize that it's not fair to compare local businesses to internet stores but in this case they did not honor their own advertised price. Very bad first impression and they lost a potential repeat customer. read more

Wow. They sold me a battery that did not work, because it was visibly defective from the moment i got it home and opened it. Upon opening the package, it revealed a torn portion of the battery ribbon cable. OK, fine, bad cable. It looked as though it had melted due to being stored in high heat environment, which makes sense because he had to go next door to get it, a storeroom I can only assume is not climate controlled. Here's where this gets very suspect: They would not take it back, WITH THE RECEIPT on the FOLLOWING DAY! I went back twice, both times I was completely calm and was blown away by their aggressive attitude and refusal to offer another solution... they basically told me to f-off. Unreal. Absolutely do not trust this store, stay away. read more

Wow, the customers service is far and beyond expectations! I went in for a new battery for my key, and the associate had trouble opening it. what seemed like the owner just let me walk out of his store with their battery I cant use unless I spend another $58.oo on a charger. When I bought the ray o vac battery for $80.00, they told me it would for sure work on my black & decker charger, and it dosn't. Said he has to pay his people, the best he'd do is 10% off a $58.00 charger I need, I declined. So now I just eat $80.00 on a new battery I can't use. they burned me ,watch out! read more

Scotts Valley location: my yelp is about the same as most folk here, very poor customer service with a lot of attitude...especially from the young arrogant know-it all SMART ASS and the guy that;s around 90. They also try to stick you with add-ons with without telling you until you have already paid for it.... When you say something about it ...that's when the attitude comes out. You can get any of these batteries somewhere else, with good service if you need it , with out the attitude or eye rolling. read more

I'll start out saying I just shopped here once, today, so I don't know how long my new battery will last or how they'll do if I need after-sale service - hence 4 not 5 stars. But when I urgently needed a new 12V battery for my Prius, they were open, had one in stock, and installed it in just a few minutes (for no extra charge). Everyone there was friendly and knowledgeable, and Josh (I think) who did the actual battery swap worked carefully, but clearly had replaced a lot of Prius batteries. In addition, although I had wanted to buy a more expensive Optima battery, the owner recommended getting the cheaper Duracell which saved me $40. Based on this experience, I'll drive a few miles to Scotts Valley the next time I need a battery. read more

Well I'm in the "it's not worth the trouble" group. I was searching for a replacement UPS battery set, the previous replacement I purchased at the same store 12-14 months prior, they are suposed to last longer than 12-14 months. I did some searching on the internet and it was going to cost me $14.00 more to purchase at BP but hey it's local. Well the corp BP web site says these are on sale for about $4.00 cheaper than they have it marked in the store. The older white haired guy comes out and says if you want that price order it online and pay for shipping in a tone that said take it or leave it. It's funny that the corp web site has a place to enter a zip code so you can find the nearest location to purchase your battery selection. A zero on the cust service skills. I ended up ordering an orig APC replacement that showed up on my door the next day for less than they wanted. Needless to say I'm never going back. read more
