Garlic Naan and Butter Chicken - a little on the sweet side for my personal tastes but my son enjoyed it
    Joey C.

Unable to give 3.5 stars. Food was good - flavorful and good size portions. The water for the table tasted off. Maybe it needs to be filtered? If filtered, maybe time to change the cartridge. Be warned, when they clean the tables, they overpower the area around the table with a strong smelling cleaning agent i.e. a mini fumigation. I informed mgmt. Hopefully they can come up with a new workaround.

I've had this before from leftovers my bf brought back and enjoyed the lamb biryani! Even after being reheated it tasted pretty good. Then we came back to dine in again. We got the chili paneer, butter chicken, lamb tikka masala, and kadai paneer, and an order of samosas. My favorite dish was definitely the lamb tikka masala! Even tho I'm not a huge fan of lamb, it tasted so savory and flavorful and the meat was melting into the sauce. The butter chicken also amazed me and had a depth of flavor that I've never tasted from Indian restaurants in east Orlando. My kadai paneer had a nice spice to it, but the oil kinda overpowered things and I'd also get bites of whole spices which threw me off. I enjoyed it just be prepared for some grease. Also would recommend the chili paneer just to share, though honestly just the main dishes are filling. Everything you see here was around $100 without tip. Indian food in my opinion is notoriously expensive for the portions so not super surprising but wish we got a little bigger portions. I gave 4 stars bc even tho we enjoyed the food the service was quite slow and inattentive despite the restaurant, which means be prepared to wait for checkout. Oh and cups were also plastic red solo cups ??? Seemed odd for an decently priced and nicely decorated place.

    Very welcoming decor.

Great atmosphere. Very quiet at lunch time on a Wednesday but quiet is good for us. Modern decor. Food was great, even the lunch servings were more than enough to fill me. We ordered the Mutton Biryani and Boneless Chicken Biryani combos which were served with raita, chicken curry, Naan, and another chicken appetizer. The chicken curry was my favorite but all were good. I have tried this chain before however this location is much better than our home location.

The food is no longer what it used to be. We went for lunch on a weekday. We were the only one for dine in for the entire lunch window. Can't speak to service as we were the only ones and ambiance is fine.

Veg review - Thank you for the amazing service. The veg paneer tikka biryani is very tasty, we ordered three times in three days. Loved it to bits. But, it's very costly which pains us a lot so 1 mark less I gVe otherwise the taste is great. Usually Biryani (Veg) shouldn't be as pricey as for Non-veg, As there's no meat. $17 for a biryani box for one person isn't justified. But, must try for good taste. Incase you don't find any good Indian restaurants near you in this location, Bawarchi biryani is great with vegetarian food also! Go for it Reviews for my veg friends

Our hunt for delicious Indian food in Orlando continues. Someone I know recommended Bawarchi Biryani, so I was extremely excited to try their biryanis. The good: 1. We ordered chicken Hakka noodles for our two toddlers, and they both thoroughly enjoyed it. The portion was generous, and it was packed with crispy chicken, which our girls loved. 2. The 70 mm dosa was a sight to behold! It was crispy and delicious, and the chutneys and sambar that came with it were so good. 3. For our friend, we ordered chicken tikka masala, samosas, garlic naan, and goat biryani to go. We had ordered the food spicy. He said the food was not spicy but liked the taste of chicken tikka masala, samosas, and garlic naan. The bad: For a restaurant to have biryani in their name, we were expecting delicious biryani, but sadly that was not the case here. 1. Chicken biryani didn't have the authentic biryani taste or flavor. It came with two pieces of chicken that were dry. The whole dish in itself was tasteless. We were highly disappointed. 2. Goat biryani - We had taken goat biryani for our friend and the food mentioned above. My husband asked him his honest opinion about the dinner we brought him, and he said that the goat biryani was very dry, which we could relate to as that was the same case with our biryani 3. Service - Service was nonexistent. Anything we needed, my husband had to get up and flag someone down. Not once did anyone come to check on us. For a restaurant to have Biryani in their name and disappoint in their biryani is a shame.

The service here was far from exceptional or even satisfactory, apparently this location needs a course in customer service. My boyfriend and I walked into this restaurant with two moody young female workers who were far from happy to see us in their restaurant. But obviously we didn't come for them, we came for the food. But of course first impressions are everything. The restaurant was far from busy and we waited 20 min before they even brought us a cup of water and it was warm. Who goes to a restaurant for a cup of warm water unless of course you're getting tea. I must have asked 4-5 times politely for lemon, nobody brought it. The garlic on the naan was raw, not cooked like how it's supposed to be. The biryani was ok, not as good as it could have been. The Galub Jamun tasted old. Overall poor service, felt like because we're white and not of the Indian culture, they treated us like garbage. I've been to higher end Indian restaurants that treated us very well. This restaurant needs to be reminded that you are in Orlando, Florida which is in the United States so of course you'll be getting non-Indian people wanting to spend their hard earned money on your food. This is a very racist restaurant, if you're going to be that way that you should keep your restaurant in your own country. My boyfriend and I were better off going to the drive through at McDonald's, we would have been treated a whole lot better. The service is slow as can be especially if you're not an Indian customer then it's double slow and the ambiance is too bright. We're classy people, so we still tipped and we're polite, but they're lucky that we are because if it was someone else they would have walked out. But of course what comes around goes around and kal ho naa ho. Treat people how you want to be treated.

Incredible Indian food in the heart of international drive! Food was delicious, hot and fresh, unlike other restaurants that reheat old food. Service was friendly and quick. Restaurant is very clean and able to accommodate larger parties (family of 8 plus a wheelchair). Too hungry to take pictures of everything we ate but the samosa chaat was phenomenal. Garlic naan, roti, onion pakora, egg biryani, goat biryani, mango lassi, kulfi, chai, chicken tikka, dal, and other menu items that I'm forgetting. My family had a feast at our table and we ate every single bite! Each menu item was so delicious, I stuffed my face even though I was full. Nothing was too spicy but we asked for extra plain yogurt for the kids. Wait staff is very patient, kind, and accommodating. I will 100% be returning for more samosa chaat and to try new menu items!

Chicken Massala, basmati rice and Samosa. With naan.

I've had a lot of Indian food over the years from many different places, as it's one of my favorites. This place does it very well. Everything was fresh and seasoned perfectly. First off, this is around the fourth or fifth time we visit Saffron Indian Cuisine in the Sand Lake…read morearea. The restaurant, in our view, has gotten increasingly lacklustre in the past couple of years. While the tables and the interiors are still generally clean, we have noticed wobbly table legs and cracked/torn seat covers that seem to remain unchanged and/or unrepaired for months. Coming to the food, while most of the Punjabi and North-west Indian fare on their menu has been the typically Americanized Indian food for the most part, anything outside of that category on their menu can and will throw you off. Especially if you've had the authentic stuff and know what those dishes taste like. On our latest visit last night, we ordered dahi tikki for appetizer which was served to us without the dahi. No attempt was made on part of the server or the kitchen staff to correct the error and provide the yogurt dressing. So we had a couple of aloo tikkis (spiced potato patties) with the regular chutneys that were at the table. We also ordered chicken vindaloo, bhindi do pyaza and butter naan for the entrée. To our surprise, the chicken tasted nothing like vindaloo and it had potatoes in it!!! LOL! For the uninitiated, Vindaloo is the Indian interpretation of 'Carne de Vinha d'alhos', which was introduced in the early 16th century to the former Portuguese colony of Goa in India. In Goa, the dish is colloquially known as 'vindalho' or 'vindaloo' and is prepared in a very similar manner to its Portuguese counterpart. It's a type of braised meat prepared with bold fiery spices and wine vinegar to impart that recognisably bold, pickle like flavour and has a beautiful, rich brown sauce. Vindaloo has absolutely NOTHING to do with Aloo (potatoes) in any shape, way or form. What was served to us seemed like some Frankensteined variation of Chicken tikka masala with some potatoes thrown in at whim. The bhindi do pyaza was alright in terms of flavor but the team in their kitchen ignored to discard the cap/stem of the okras causing the preparation to have a rather unpleasant texture and mouthfeel. The butter naans were also very inconsistent in texture. The first one was fine, the second one was overcooked, brown and crispy and the one we ordered to go was slightly undercooked and doughy. Also, not sure if it's worth mentioning, but the lights inside the restaurant kept being dimmed to the point of being turned off several times when we were seated at the table at around 8:30PM. I'm not sure what's going on with this restaurant but if the owners and staff actually read the reviews, please do something about it. We have been to Saffron before and we used to really enjoy the food, the service and the overall atmosphere. But lately it's been all going downhill. The only saving grace is that the portions served here are still huge. But that won't save the restaurant if the quality of the food and everything else keeps tanking. It'll be a shame to see another good restaurant fall from grace. We would absolutely urge the owners to take notice and fix things so those of us who have loved this place in the past can keep returning.

I have never seen so many restaurants with two/hybrid/fusion menus as I have in Orlando! We got Hakka Noodles, Pani Puri, Masala Dosa, Palak Paneer & Chai. Pani Puri came assembled already and in a cute little wagon. Everything tasted amazing!! Tasted fresh-made with fresh ground spices & tasty ingredients. The pakora was fried perfectly and had the right amount of spices, making it so flavorful and addicting that my mom enjoyed it so much. The meat area had Chicken Tikka Masala, Cashew Chicken, Goat Biryani, and Tandoori Chicken. All were wonderful. The biryani had nice pieces of goat, but most of them had bones. The the goat was tender and flavorful from being with the bones. The cashew chicken was good, but also had bones. The chicken tikka was boneless and the chicken was soft. The sauces were flavorful and medium spiced. The tandoori chicken was cooked nicely, but you did need a knife and fork to cut it. For the vegetarian dishes, the okra and potato were both enjoyable. The paneer dish was a bit too sweet for me, and the vegetable biryani seemed to have golden raisins, which I didn't enjoy. For dessert, I just took the fruit custard, which was mostly just fruit in a mango milk/sauce. It was still delicious! We all agreed that the food was great here for the buffet! The service is good, but can be busy. While our plates got cleared for the first rounds, it did pile up during the second round and dessert. It didn't get cleared until we left. It was ok because we had enough space to eat anyways. I also noticed that relaxing piano music was in the background, so it does help calm the atmosphere in a tourist area. The price increased to about 20 dollars per person, but this is still a great deal. With various types of food to enjoy and unlimited portions til your stuffed, it's an excellent value. We ordered the Dal Maharani, and while our waitress asked about spice level, it felt like she made the decision for us. We enjoy spice, but even the first bite was hotter than we expected, and we barely ate any of it despite it being otherwise flavorful. Toward the end, our waitress asked us to leave a review... and then stood there waiting. When my husband said we were still chatting, she kept circling back to check, which felt pretty pushy. Later, when we requested to-go boxes, she said "there is no rush" and then disappeared. We had to ask again.
