I was shopping for a new truck during Covid... which means there wasn't very many options out there. I came to Baxter due to them having a couple options I was interested in. The finance manager and sales guy Brody were great to work with! Brody really did a good job of closing the deal. While I waited for my truck to get detailed and go through inspection, I was given a loaner truck for a couple of days. Unfortunately, we worked with another sales guy for this loaner truck who wasn't very good at customer service. My dad informed the sales guy that the loaner truck was not running properly when they showed it to me to buy. My dad was a mechanic, he should know if a truck's engine sounds right. Then without my knowledge they gave me this same truck as the loaner! Less than 12 hours later I'm calling the sales guy to let him know that the check engine light is on. Brody worked with me to make things right and even wiped down my truck for me after detailing did a bad job. Long story short, I had a rough experience at this location... I didn't even mention everything bad that happened, but there were also some great hidden gems found. Like the finance guy who gave my Big Brothers Big Sisters Little $20 to go to the pumpkin patch after we got done picking up my truck. That was a moment that made it worth it. read more

Very disappointed with this dealership and will not be returning to either Baxter Fords in the Omaha area. This company is in the business of rat-finking people. This is the second rat-fink experience and the reason for the review. The first experience is a review of its own. I went to Ford Papillion this morning to look at a jeep. I test drove the jeep, loved the jeep and ran the numbers with Tomas, the salesman. It was looking promising but they just needed to research my trade-in a bit more to get the payment in a better range. I have a Camaro SS that is parked /stored for the winter and that I wanted to trade-in. The Jeep was a certified Baxter vehicle that had a check engine light on when I test drove it. After I was done test driving, they were taking it to the service department to look at it. I ended up leaving the dealership at this point because of the service department having the vehicle and waiting to hear back for updated trade in values. Anyways, they never reached out. Never followed up about service inspecting the engine light. I was reluctant to bring in my Camaro before hearing back from Tomas on the check engine light. If I'm going to pull my Camaro from storage, it better be worth while . I had to call several times about the jeep and ask about any updates. Tomas, the salesman, was never clear on the phone about what was going on or where they were on the process and that he'd reach back out when he knew more information (never did). After a couple hours waiting, I finally call again, and Tomas informed me that another person had taken the jeep for test drive and was in the process of finalizing the sale. Granted, I never had a written agreement with the company to buy the vehicle but it's poor salesman and horrible business. It was just a what the f**k moment of trying to work with Tomas and Baxter to make the sale happen and before I got any clear answers, the vehicle was gone. Felt like I was just pushed to the side when I was there early this morning, ready to work a deal. It definitely left a very sore taste. read more

I am traveling and was told by a gentleman when I stopped at a store that my brakes were squealing so I was worried since was going to be driving in mountain areas. I called them because close and they told me to just come in. They did my 10,000 mile check which was due and checked my brakes which they said were still good and the squealing was probably from brake dust. Took my worries away and I felt much better driving in the mountains. Staff was very professional and nice and the work was done in a very timely manner read more

Matthew was wonderful to work with. I inquired about a vehicle and he reached out immediately. I was let NEEDING a vehicle, so I didn't go see it right away. My vehicle started having some issues a couple days later so I reached out to see if I could do a text drive. The vehicle was ready for me at the front of the lot. They had all the information for me, got my trade in appraised and put a deal together for me. We were there about 3hours or so, and it was very painlesa. PERFECT EXAMPLE of CUSTOMER NO-SERVICE: Shame, shame on this dealership !! I own a Ford F150 and had an issue opening the tailgate. Thought the fastest way to get assistance was to visit a Ford service dealership. Apparently, my judgement was totally flawed. Walked into the service area of which at a normal dealership, there is a service technician waiting to help. Stood there for five minutes minimum with no one around, so I went into the service desk area where 3 people were seated. I had explained my issue and was told no one could assist me today(July 3rd @ around 2:00pm). I then asked if one of them could accompany me to the truck to see if they had any ideas and they just looked at each other without saying a word. I just shook my head and left. Suggestion to Management: Review your hiring criteria to include questions referencing customer service or hire a few baby-boomers to mentor your current staff. We are a 4-car/truck family, but with service after the sale as I just experienced, chances are ford will be not be on our list for our next purchases. read more

She was able to keep it exceptionally fun and professional.I was able to talk to her like I've know her forever. We came with cars in mind, and she picked out the one I ended up taking home! Yes service can be slow, but that's how dealerships work. They only have so many people and picking out a car can take hours sometimes. But I always recommend going through Baxter. I have had my truck (F-150) serviced there several times. The last two times I felt as of the service they said was completed wasn't actually done, or was done poorly. This time I caught them lying to me. I needed the brakes fixed, and they told me the front rotors were warped. I approved replacing them, but asked if the pads were ok. They said the pads were fine and would be put back on. When I got the truck back the next day they told me it had been repaired and test driven and was ready to go. The first time bonuses the brakes, the whole truck shuddered to a stop! It was worse than when I originally took it in!! If they had actually test driven the truck, they would have noticed the shudder!! I took the truck back in and they said it couldn't go in the shop until two days latere because they're so busy. I returned it two days later and they said the BACK RITORS WERE WARPED TOO! Not only did they lie about it being test-driven, but now I wonder if the front rotors were actually warped, or if they just lied about that so they could charge me for something. They also lied about the pads being "fine"! There was practically nothing left of them. (I checked) They should've advised that they were so worn that if I didn't replace them now, I'd be back in in a few weeks to have them done, which would've cost me more than doing them now, and could mess up the new rotors. Don't trust Baxter service!! They're not working for you!! read more

Update: After I reached out to the service department manager and expressed my concerns, they had someone pickup up my car, and take it in for the recall and oil change (what was actually supposed to happen when I went the first time). They made it right in the end and they returned my car to my house. I changed my review from 1 star to 3 stars - for the fact I should never had the issue to begin with. Original Review (1 Star) LACK OF COMMUNICATION AND LACK OF CONSIDERATION OF TIME!!! I went in for a recall and since I was going to be in for a recall that was going to take about 1/2 a day, I decided to add an oil change. I get there and I'm told that the recall has been delayed until last quarter but they can still do my oil change. If I would have known this I could have brought my computer and worked. - There was NO COMMUNICATION, and they wasted my time. The Service guy said since I had an oil changed scheduled there was no reason to tell me ahead of time that the recall had been delayed. Poor communication and doesn't mind wasting a customer's time. Service manager called and all he could say is Sorry and comp a oil change. For the wasted time and lack of communication on my vehicle to start with, I am taking my vehicle some place else, that will be up front and communicate. The only down side is when the part comes in for the recall I will have to take it back to Ford (it will be a different location) to get it fixed. I do love my Ford Escape. read more

3 weeks ago my Wife and I started the process to turn in our 2013 Explorer Sport for a 2016 Explorer Limited and since it was our second time leasing it was very new to us. We worked with Jonathan Robinson through the test drives and process as a whole and he ensured that it was an enjoyable experience. He also worked with us through the negotiations and even helped move items from our old car to our new car. 2 days ago Jonathan Robinson reached out to me telling me about the Friends and Family sale that Baxter is running right now and a couple examples of prices for different vehicles in case I knew anyone that may be looking for a new vehicle. Given the discounts I started looking not only to tell friends but for myself as well. I called Jonathan that afternoon and came out and look at 2 different Mustangs which we took for test drives and talked about what had changed since the last one that I had owned which was a 2007. Afterwords I asked Jonathan if I could work with him and Kurt to see if we could come to a deal on a 2015 Mustang GT Premium and with very minimal effort we did just that. Even Tristan from finance who handled us buying the Explorer handled working with me for the Mustang. It was a great experience! I cannot say or stress enough how enjoyable this team has made buying 2 cars in 3 weeks! They are courteous, professional and even talk with you to connect at a personal level. Spent a couple of hours with these guys yesterday looking at trucks. Here's the summary: 1. Had no clue which truck had which options. We had to provide them information about their own inventory. Isn't that your job? 2. When evaluating my trade, asked me what other dealers offered for my truck (seriously)? 3. Devalued my truck due to "hail damage." There is no hail damage. Never has been. 4. Repeatedly quoted me the incorrect towing capacity on the trucks we evaluated (see#1). Was certainly not impressed. Would never purchase from them nor would I recommend them. They were friendly enough, but oscillated between cluelessness and chicanery on the sales side. read more

We've purchased a brand new truck every year for the past 5 years. This year we went to this location and the experience wasn't as smooth as usual. We upgraded this year and got a fair price for our old truck so we feel good about that. The problem was after they got our money and the deal was done the service we received was HORRIBLE. There were a few alterations that needed to be made to the truck after the purchase so we had to leave our new vehicle there. They said it would be a few days before it was done and gave us a rental in the meantime. 10 days later... After several calls to check on the status and several unanswered calls we FINALLY got our truck back. When we checked it out it was plain to see that the bra they put on the front was all bubbles and looked like we'd put it on ourselves. We had to take the truck back again for another 5 days to have this fixed... The service was a JOKE and so frustrating. They even did a courtesy call to see how we liked the truck after the first week and we said - you tell us!!! We haven't even been able to drive it because you guys have had it the whole time! We love our truck but will NEVER buy here again. read more

I brought my vehicle in for some warranty repairs just after they opened their new location, while it was there one of my tires picked up a nail and got a slow leak. Because of the location of the puncture they said it couldn't be repaired and their service manager (Paul Williams) said they wouldn't cover the replacement. read more

I purchased a used 2007 ford freestyle from here. The purchase process was not too bad. It took 3 days to take delivery. It took them 3 days to replace a windshield and 2 tires. I took it in to have it checked out when I had the oil changed. The top engine mount was completely destroyed. The engine was nice and clean. The torn up engine mount was on plain site. They didn't bother taking care of a safety issue during the 3 days they had it before I took delivery. The oil pan had a leak, the lower ball joint was torn, rear brakes will need to be replaced very soon, needed new air filter and wiper blades. The total repair estimate without the engine mount was 1,322.82. I will say the car was clean when we bought it. Looks were deceiving. Be very careful when buying a used car from here. The salesman said Baxter only sells cars it would sell to family. I guess they don't treat their family well. read more

This was the absolute WORST experience I have ever had. I told them from the very beginning about my credit, and the highest I could go on payments. I "purchased" a 2015 Ford Edge, payments were outrageous. I was told everything was approved and fine, my Co-Signer just needed to come in and sign paperwork. almost 3 weeks later, I started getting emails ( never a phone call ) from my salesperson, that I could not be on the loan. they then hassled my co signer to just purchased the car herself.. for me. The communication between sales and finance was horrible, When I talked to finance, they had no idea what was going on. To make a long story short, I received an email from my sales person, telling me I better show up the next day that I needed to return the car. When I took the keys in, the finance manager had no idea what I was doing there . I would never recommend this place to anyone . read more

This dealership pushes you to buy their rustproofing, window tinting, etc. Its all a racket - they dont cover their warranty. Bunch of CROOKS! I purchased F150, purchased the package with 10 year rust protection warranty. my vehicle is not 6 years old, and I noticed rust, both sides the same. I reported it the day i noticed it. I also had a co-worker out of the blue ask me that same day, when did you start getting rust on your truck. Long story short, I filed a claim that day, Contacted the company and they immediately replied that i should have reported it sooner and that I didnt take proper care of my vehicle. I reported it the day I noticed it. And I wash the vehicle weekly. I pride myself in the cleanliness of my vehicle. Went to Baxter Ford, and they took a week to call and leave a message saying they couldnt read who did the warranty rustproofing, and that the rust was too far advanced. Again, they sold me the warranty, they took the truck to get the rustproofing and I get my vehicle serviced there. Dont you think they would have noticed it when they had the truck in the air. I dont crawl under my vehicle. CROOKS - all of them at BAXTER FORD SOUTH. Dont buy any of their packages after you purchase a vehicle. They dont warranty them and if there is an issue, they pass the buck! And when you go back to purchase something else or have a problem, most likely the salesman will have moved on and the managers sitting up in the box are gone too. Again, dont buy the package CRAP they push on you after you buy a vehicle. This review is for the finance department. If you get a car loan from Baxter South the finance department will tell you that the company financing your loan will not approve the loan if you don't add an extended warranty, 3 for 1 and gap coverage to your loan (adding about $8000 to the loan). I even said it's a brand new car (2017) and we don't need the extended warranty on it. That is when they said Ford Credit will not borrow without that added on. I called Ford Credit to cancel that and they told me they don't sell those things that it all comes from the dealer. They did this to my Son also. I will never buy a car from Baxter South again. Baxter Jeep and Baxter Ford West don't do this so why does the South location get away with it. read more

I went in two weeks ago to find out about the process when my lease ends in July. I asked about what kind of financing they could offer me and he told my payment on a $15,800 loan would be $350 for 60 months. That's a 12.5% APR if anyone was wondering. But they don't tell you that. So make sure you check online and with local banks to get a better rate. The kicker however was that I asked multiple times if they ran my credit and if so, if I could get a copy of the report (which they did when I first leased the car there two years ago). The salesman told me at least twice that they ended up not having to run my credit. Too bad I have credit monitoring. And their check of my credit showed up. After telling me repeatedly that they didn't. So I called today to again ask why they ran it when they told me I didn't and why I didn't get a copy. I tried to talk to a manager (Brad) to express my displeasure in his salesman, and Brad was beyond rude to me. He asked me multiple times to spell my name and couldn't get it right, at one point thinking the combination "lgn" was in it. I'm not sure how that would be pronounced, but it isn't part of my name. You would think a manager would be a little more responsive when part of his sales force is caught in a lie, but apparently they don't want my $15,800 business. I will go to another dealer to close out my lease. read more

Took my Ford Explorer in for service related to a recall. Unfortunately, the service department forgot to tighten up the steering column. Do not trust the service department or mechanics as this was a major safety oversight. Find a reputable mechanic outside of the Baxter organization. Very incompetent and obviously do not take the safety of their customers seriously. read more

Just a note: DO NOT share your contact info with their service department. I took my company car there over two years ago and I am STILL getting calls every week to extend the warranty.
