They open at 5 and apparently all the locals with a drinking issue know and show up for the "good drinks" ! There was a line of AARP folks needing some liquid courage. Me, I came for food. The burger was delicious and cooked perfectly The fries were also hot and tasty This place has been around for a bazillion years so go read up. If you stay north of the dinner menu, you can have a nice evening out without breaking the budget, go south and it's pricey! But drink some of those famous drinks and you won't care about the prices. The restaurant has a dated feel and could definitely use a facelift, but if your all dranked up, it don't matter!

We enjoy every meal here. Best hamburger around. Server attentive, good drinks, nice atmosphere..

I thought Baxter's would have some great crab cakes. Unfortunately they did not catch my wife's eye. I was thinking about the grouper, but decided on the ribeye. This was a great steak on the shore. The fish sandwich was too greasy. We looked at desserts, and decided to go elsewhere. The service was ok. I found that this was one of the closest restaurants to where we are staying. Great for a rainy day.

Meh . . It's just average. Not Great, Not terrible. I was a little surprised when I was able to get a 7:00 reservation during the insanity that IS the Amelia Island Concourse recently. Most of the great, good and even the just ok restaurants are packed due to the enormous influx of people this weekend. The building looks pretty decent from the outside and displays a sign saying the Best steaks in the area. Once you get inside it starts to drop off. It's a bit run down looking and the bar looks like something from a 1970's sitcom. It's casual to the point of being rough. Regarding the food, Fresh bread - really good Onion soup - ok but somewhat bland Caesar salad - pretty good Baked potato - dried out Green beans - overcooked Steak - decent They do have a full bar but the craft beer options are quite limited and a brief look at the wine list was underwhelming. Normally I would go into more detail regarding the food but my brief description tells you all you need to know. I was confused by the wide variance in reviews but I find that in the end, the 3 star rating is pretty much right where it should be.

Amelia island is VERY dog friendly, and this restaurant was no exception. Our dog was not only tolerated, but welcomed. Our server,Nautical, was super friendly and helpful when we were trying to figure out what to eat. We both ended up getting the Catch of the Day BLT that was served with a fried green tomato and a delicious remoulade sauce. It came with a side of fries that our dog really enjoyed. The vibe of the restaurant was super fun with tables on sand and nice live music playing. We've kind of sat where the entrance to the kitchen was and not one server got upset that they had to walk by our 70 lb Pitbull. In fact one of them got him a bowl of water which was super nice. The food was absolutely delicious and one of the best meals we had while in Amelia Island. I would definitely go back if we return. If you find yourself here definitely check out this restaurant!

I realize restaurants are on a schedule and expect my food to be at a different level. This was not the case here. It was perfect. It is important to note that we came in at 2:30 in the afternoon and were the only customers in the place. Sometimes this means the food would be leftovers from lunch but everything we ate was very fresh. I had the sliced pork. The slices were a quarter inch thick and to big to eat in 1 bite. The pork was fork tender even at that thickness so I did not need a knife. I would say it was THE BEST restaurant sliced pork I have ever had. I asked about a spicy sauce and was told they have something called Big Poppas that stays in the back and she brought me some. It was a really good spicy sauce but not so overwhelming that you couldn't taste the meat. The fries were just fries but they were hit and crispy. I had baked beans. They had really good flavor and chunks of pork mixed in for an added bonus. This was also fresh and hot. My wife had the brisket plate and said the same about her food. She took home more brisket than she ate. It was huge.

I love that when you enter the restaurant you are greeted by the owner. He has a wonderful sense of humor and both times he stated that he was seating us so that we could have the ocean view. We met two friends for dinner to celebrate my upcoming birthday and one of their belated birthdays…read more From the moment we walked in, the service was friendly and attentive, and our server was excellent throughout the night. My wife started with the daily special, a dragonfruit mojito. It was a beautiful purple color, but unfortunately, it looked much better than it tasted. It had almost no sweetness and was honestly pretty bad. Two of us tasted it when our server came back to see if we wanted to order the same thing, and we both immediately declined. Our server took it back and worked some magic to improve it, which we appreciated. My wife eventually switched to a different drink later that was much better. The rest of the table's cocktails were fine, but nothing really stood out. We split the L'Cobb salad as an appetizer, and it was amazing. It was easily one of the highlights of the meal, and both my wife and I agreed we would order it as a meal in the future. For dinner, my wife ordered the Country Captain Salmon and said it was excellent and something she would definitely order again. Both of our friends ordered the filet and complimented the flavor and preparation. I went with the L Burger, and unfortunately, that was the disappointment of the meal for me. The meat was juicy but lacked seasoning, so the burger depended heavily on the bacon jam for flavor. There wasn't enough of it to carry the burger. I asked for some extra to cover the areas that had been missed, and adding more definitely helped, but overall the burger was still just mid. I would try their regular burger next time because I think traditional condiments could have easily taken it from mid to good. The fries, however, were cooked perfectly and lightly salted. We finished by ordering three desserts to share: the pecan pie, peanut butter pie, and crème brûlée cheesecake. The peanut butter pie was delicious, extremely rich, and HUGE. Two people could easily struggle to finish it. The crème brûlée cheesecake was also delicious and was a more average-sized dessert portion. Our friend was disappointed with both the taste and portion size of the pecan pie. Overall, there were definitely some hits and misses with the food and drinks, but the service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, handled the issue with my wife's first cocktail without hesitation, and took great care of us throughout the evening. The L'Cobb salad, salmon, filets, and desserts were the standouts. I would come back, but next time I'd skip the L Burger and try something else on the menu.
