This is review is long overdue as I've used Bay Rooter 3 times in the last 5 years. Dan is knowledgeable, fast, friendly and saved my butt on more than one occasion. Most recently at about 8PM after work, I tried to do a quick fix on a single handle shower faucet that was leaking. I was able to get everything back together and it wasn't until I turned the main line back on, that I realized something major had occurred. When I was removing a stubborn retaining ring from the faucet, I over torked and inadvertently cracked one of the pipes in the wall. In a panic I called Bay Rooter, who was quick to return my call. Dan rearranged his schedule to fit me in at noon the following day. Needless to say, after about 3 hours of work, we were back up and running with a new faucet and copper pipes in the shower. I saw Dan working on my neighbor's house, so I asked him to come take a look at a leak we're having in our bathroom sink. He came, showed me that the problem is with the faucet, and gave a reasonable quote for the full service of going to Home Depot, buy the faucet, and install it. He went there, sent me photos of faucets to buy, and then came and installed it, all within about one hour. The installation was well done. He left everything clean and tidy. No dirty rags, no oil stains anywhere. The faucet works as expected. Overall a very stress-free experience. read more

I had a plumbing problem in my condominium that needed the water shut off to replace a part. When we tried to shut off the water, we found that the shut off valve wasn't working right and would have to be replaced. Condos are set up so that each building shares a shutoff valve and one main shutoff valve for everyone. This all meant a lot of coordination... shutoff notifications for everyone, working around the condo plumber's schedule, and working with my plumber's schedule. Dan and Rozina were great through the whole process. Scheduling with them was the least of my problems. They were flexible and patient with all the schedule changes. It took 2 weeks to set up for the job, and it took Dan less than an hour to finish the repair. I highly recommend them. read more

Bay Rooter promptly responded within half an hour to my quote request to fix a leaky kitchen sink. I sent the message before 6 am on a Sunday so they really are on top of it. I received the quote, not cheap but plumbers usually are not, and then I scheduled the appointment for Monday morning at 10 am. Dan arrived at exactly 10 am. He took a look, told me exactly what was wrong and noted another issue with the water pressure. He identified the cause of the water pressure problem, cleaned it up and fixed the broken cartridge which was causing the leak. In addition, he cleaned up the messy grout work around the faucet that was done by the original plumber who installed it. Dan was fast and efficient. Overall, it took him less than an hour to do the job and I am very satisfied with his work. I will definitely use him again. read more

Absolutely fantastic service. Had a bad clogged toilet and also wanted a couple slow drains cleared. Got it all done in one trip and less than an hour. Dan handled the work very well, professionally and felt like there was authentic Integrity (no rip-off motive was felt after work done). He explained that company is family owned (his Dad runs it) and has been around 10 years. What stood out: Dan was so pleasant to deal with both my wife and I. My wife is very picky and was so pleased. Work was excellent and carefully done, and he even helped us add a small addition to the shower head. When I initially looked for a plumber, I got a variety of quotes. Some lower than this company but they agreed to a reasonable price when I requested a lower price. Our upstairs shower stall clogged up and flooded the adjacent hallway bath. We attempted to unclog the drain pipe with a $12 snake and plungers without success. We knew it's time to call in the pro. Our Home Warranty Company sent Bay Rooter & Plumbing to the rescue. We were given a 3 hour time window (8AM - 11AM) and Dan arrived at 8:45AM. Dan deployed an electric drain snake. Within 30 minutes, he pulled up a big hair ball and the shower stall now drains perfectly! Dan also took the time to check our downstairs bathtub's drainage. He's professional, punctual and quick. We got Dan through our homeowner's warranty. I had a laundry list of items, and he excelled at fixing everything! He went above and beyond what I expected. For example, instead of just fixing the leaky faucet, he replaced it. He also adjusted our water pressure for no extra charge. I'd been having out a different plumber recommended by our real estate agent and must have blown $1200 getting him to "fix" things that just broke again. When Dan came out, he just fixed them. I had Bay Rooter & Plumbing service my clogged main drainage line. The plumber came out and ran a motorized snake in my clean out port in front of the house. He seemed quite competent, and gave me pointers about what I should do. (I had some roots blocking the pipe. Boo.) They were assigned to me by my home warranty provider, Old Republic. I was worried at first because I saw bad yelp reviews for another company by the same name, but I guess that one was based out of San Francisco. So I wanted to add this company to Yelp with the proper address so they don't lose business because of the other company by the same name, since he seemed pretty competent to me. read more

Called this company for my condo. The receptionist has a thick accent and does not come across as the friendliest. Asked her to call my renter to set up an appointment, they never did and just sent the plumber there! The receptionist swears that she did speak with my renter while my renter had no idea they were coming, think Ill believe my renter...Also, was told that when they did get the call, they were yelled at. Another appointment is made to come back only this time, the plumber's child is sick. This is not the issue, the issue is you have only one person per day for any and all jobs?? They were going to call and tell us if this person could come the following day and by Day 3 no updates. I have finally had enough. Thanks but no thanks. Ill find someone else. Had standing water in the kitchen sink so I called them Sunday morning for a quote and they scheduled me same day from noon to 2PM. We had a kitchen sink clog that we just couldn't get to drain with nearly $70 of Draino and Liquid Plumber. Based on the reviews, we called Bay Rooter. They were out to our house promptly. We were told that the clog was caused by grease and only hot water helps. They snaked the grease clog out and repaired a broken pipe for $195. The service was honest and friendly, and the price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend them. read more

I got a toilet plumbing issue and called Bay Rooter & Plumbing for help. The owner showed up on time and examined the issue. Turned out that it's something that my builder should be responsible for because the root of it had started from the cleanout being plugged up outside my unit. He spent an extended amount of time analyzing what went wrong and gave me his suggestion of how it should be solved without any charge. Plumber (Dan) arrived within an hour of the call, and took charge quickly, looking at the drainage problem and found a couple of problems.
