I was consistently forcefully ignored, belittled and patronized about my capability to afford anything outside of what my insurance allowed. And the woman that handled my service or lack thereof refused any feedback on the type of glasses I was looking to purchase, she was outright indignant and belittling but yet when other caucasian patrons walk into your establishment they were greeted warmly and talked to respectfully. to make matters worse, the glasses that I picked out weren't even the ones I received in fact they weren't even in the same class. I expressed my budget and willingness of $575 to spend on glasses and yet they charged my insurance for those glasses and they didn't even have the decency to give me the ones that I picked out to purchase defeating the whole purpose of the $575 out of insurance budget, Hence I was more than fiscally able to purchase a pair of my choosing regardless of what insurance covered . I will never do business with this company again, but maybe that was their whole gold to discourage people with disabilities or under insured individuals from returning?? I could be completely wrong, well I'm just speculating but in any case I will not go back because i'm no longer a glutton for punishment.

The Dr took his time to make sure the prescription was correct. I have had trouble distance reading with my glasses. The prescription I received is the best I have had in years. I purchased computer glasses and regular glasses. They used a frame I had with me for computer glasses, just put in new lenses. I bought a new frame and lenses for daily wear. They recommended a color frame, and I said no to that. Went back a few days later and exchanged the frames to the color frames they suggested. Lots of complements. The lenses are made on site, and are perfect. Had my new glasses in less than a week.

An optometrist there who tested my eyes did so more thoroughly and with greater care than anywhere I have previously been. At 66 I've been a few places.. The frames and lenses (manufactured on-site) are more competitively priced than you will find anywhere in the area. It's a warm and friendly environment to browse for a new look, with helpful suggestions if needed. They have fixed many of my glasses, some I have had for years. They turned around a broken pair, same day, updating them into a new frame I needed for a business trip. What's not to like~ You won't find a better Eye Associates anywhere. Believe it!

When I called about my prescription expiring on 11/26, I scheduled the next available appointment for 12/30, which meant I would be without contacts for 13 days and needed a few sample lenses to bridge the gap since I couldn't purchase more with an expired prescription. When I requested samples, the receptionist was dismissive and offered no help. When I asked if she could check with Dr. Chin, she replied--in a tone that made me feel as if I should have known better--that he was with patients all day. I explained that I understood, but hoped she could ask him at some point when he wasn't actively with a patient. Despite this, she never followed up. I emailed the office today, following up on my call from Monday, explaining the terrible experience I had with the woman I spoke with and again asking that my message be passed along to Dr. Chin, as he deserves to know why a long-time patient is leaving. And once again--no response. At the very least, a response to my email should have been a basic professional courtesy, but I didn't receive any acknowledgment whatsoever. Do better, front office at Andover Eye. After reading other reviews of AEA, there seems to be a consistent theme of dissatisfaction with the front desk staff. It's surprising that nothing has been done to address it, and it makes me wonder whether the doctors are even receiving this feedback. I hope this message ultimately reaches Dr. Chin. He has always been excellent, but the lack of support and communication from the front desk ultimately led me to seek care with a new provider. On a positive note, I want to give a shout-out to the optical office staff--they have consistently been terrific.

I got a revision surgery on only my right eyelid back in October 2025. So to even it out he made the eyelid crease on my right eyelid to match my left eyelid. Enough time has passed to heal and see the results and I'm STILL noticing my left eyelid still droopy. I notice it in the mirror, when I'm taking a picture, I feel it still droopy and it still bothers me. I notice that on my right eyelid there is some extra skin on my inner eyelid crease that doesn't match the inner left eyelid crease. It just looks weird and I'm still self conscious about my eyelids. I look closely at the pictures I take of my eyelids and notice my left one is still droopy. I was told he fixed the levator muscle but I don't think the ptosis is fixed. I moved to California and I've seen several Ophthalmologist's here but they're not being useful.

It will be 10 weeks this Monday since I had my eye exam and was fitted for my glasses . At the 4 week mark I called left a message and received no reply . I then called 6 more times . Sometimes they said they were closed and would get back to me (they didn't) sometimes these were times that were posted as open online. Other times it said they were with a patient and would get back to me they didn't There hours seem to be whatever they feel like . This week they were closed Monday open Tueday 2 to 6 closed Wed and Thursday Friday 2 to 6 and today Saturday they opened at 3:30 and now it's 4:46 and online says closing soon open Tuesday at 2 pm . Finally I've had to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission , the consumer division of the Mass Attorney General's office , and the customer service of my insurance company . I had to wait 30 minutes for my appointment. Had a 10 am appointment and waited and waited almost canceled as I had another appointment after. I finally got seen and they were apologetic, and I had a good through evaluation. Still have good sight and happy to still see clearly with no devices. I would recommend but plan on waiting around.

I have a eye appointment…read morecoming up, so the new pair will have to wait till I get my new prescription but the old glasses really needed fixing stat, so I decided to check this place out today since the reviews were so good! Well Yelp did not fail me - one of the lovely ladiesn at Heller Eyecare fixed my glasses free of charge and did it quite quickly even though there were indeed broken! Needless to say I will not hesitate to strongly consider them when I am ordering my new glasses. The selection there seemed very large and the fact that they are open till 6pm sometimes is very helpful. Thank you again to whomever helped me, life is too short to go around with taped glasses!

Since I work in Lowell I just wanted to find some place I could easily bop over to during the week. I called on Monday and got an appointment on Friday. The receptionist wasn't overly friendly, but I've found that to be true at all eye doctors I've called lately. Dr. Fabello greeted me at the front desk. He looked up my insurance before the exam to see what the options were for my contacts (this is when he informed me that my insurance wasn't very good) and then proceeded with the exam. Since I had my old prescription the exam was fairly quick. He checked that there weren't anything improvements to make to the prescription and that my eyes were healthy. He explained my insurance situation to me and worked with me figure out the best balance of optimizing the use of my benefits along with getting the best contacts for me. When I checked out the receptionist was back at the front desk and she was helpful but had the attitude that I was inconveniencing her to be doing her job. Overall a great experience, just be prepared for the receptionist's 'tude.
