Great bar for an ocean view. Their menu is extensive. We went towards the end of brunch and were able to get seated right away and get a lunch menu instead of brunch. Our waitress was friendly and checked in often. I ordered the shrink cocktail and was impressed. Great size and delicious! The only complaint I have is their physical menus smell dirty and should be replaced.
Wonderland Ocean Pub is such a nice spot to enjoy a meal and drinks with an amazing ocean view. Tiffany was our server and she was very attentive. The atmosphere is fun and relaxing and the food and drinks are reasonably priced for the location. It's a great place to sit back, take in the view and enjoy a good meal. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

Awesome views and very nice ambiance and decor. Awesome beach vibe! The food was good and everything we ordered we liked. Service is where they need to improve. Service was very slow and we felt abandoned by our server. Had to go get a fork from the reception as my plate came and I didn't have silverware. We would have ordered more drinks but half the time we were asking where our server was. They were out of Sauvignon blanc and other wines thus, not everything on the drinks menu was available. I look forward to give this place a second chance.
One of the best views in ocean beach by far!! I love their regular menu but this was my first time trying their brunch. We got ube French toast to split with a table, which was perfect because the two slices were pretty large. The smoked brisket Benny was the perfect savory compliment. I love a crunchy hash brown. The old Aztec is basically a giant loaded omelette. Splitting bubbles by the bottle with the table is the way to go! Happy brunching!
The food was spectacular! The tuna wrap is to die for, I've gotten it every time and maybe one day I'll venture out and try something else. The fish ceviche was good, might try something else for app next time but worth the try. Super nice views of the ocean and pier. Try and request a window seat. The crew is super nice and helpful. Always will go here for special occasions or a pick-me-up happy hour.
What a pleasant surprise! Recommended by a local friend, we made our way to Ocean Beach. First, the views...second to none. Literally embodies California beach vibe. Located on the second floor and with wall to wall windows, it is a perfect ocean sunset viewing location. Someone saw our photos and thought they were AI! They are not, I assure you. Second, it is LOUD. It is a bar and grill, and we went on St. Patrick's Day. It was energetic and fun - not for quiet conversation. I did not drink anything alcoholic as I was driving, but food wise, my taco was great - really good tortilla - and service was pleasant, even on a busy evening. My friend and I both agreed we would return.
'Boogie Wonderland!' ...a song by Earth Wind and Fire would be so cool if played every time you walked in here at Wonderland Ocean Pub but that's my wishful thinking lol The menu has typical selections that pairs well with a beachy cocktail or a chilled mug of beer, popular with local or tourist diners. Having been here several times, the cocktails, mocktails are fun to try. From the menu, the standouts: clam chowder, world famous chili, riblets, and the surf and turf burger with garlic prawns. Recent visit, we ordered the shareable killer nachos with added steak...the steak was great but the chips and toppings were not good, inedible :( Service needs improvement, as either they're understaffed or lack focus on being attentive. On our recent visit, it took a long time to get the food and even longer time to get the check to pay and leave. Once you do have the staffers attention though, they are super nice and apologetic, perhaps a little too late :/ This restaurant is on the second level accessible via stairs with no elevators, therefore not ADA compliant. My friend uses a walking cane and although he managed to walk up the 2 flights of stairs, it's still a challenge and definitely not easily accessible for the handicapped or if on wheelchairs :( After a day of leisurely walking in Ocean Beach Wonderland Ocean Pub is one of the places I like because of its elevated 2nd floor location, away from looky- loos, people walking by and oggle at you and your food. Best aspect here is the panoramic ocean beach views, feeling the ocean breeze as you sip on your favorite drink, with the song playing in your head Boogie Wonderland, here at Wonderland Ocean. Came to the Pub after our walk at the San Diego Sunset Cliff. I had a delicious Mai Tai with some Calamari. My drink and snacks were on point. Service was fast! Place is busy. Great to come with friends and have some drinks.
I always have a great experience here, so when my family wanted to get some lunch near OB, this was my suggestion. All the food is good and can't beat the view. It's a good date spot if you can snag seat on the window, looking out at the ocean. Sometimes I time it for sunset. I haven't been here in awhile, but it looks like they had an interior designer give it a makeover, and it turned out super good. Very happy that they chose comfy chairs. I'm in my 40s, so it's appreciated as I get old. It was a Sunday and they had just sat two large parties, so they said it would be a 45min wait. Luckily we got 4 seats at the bar. Our bartender was super friendly and attentive, even though she was busy. There's a decent beer list and full bar, so everyone was happy. My go-to is the woco moco. I remember it being larger and needing to split it with a friend, which wasn't the case this time. Order your egg sunny side and fried rice. My brother got the chilicilas, half green, half red with carnitas. He loved it. My step dad is traditional and got the standard breakfast. The hash browns are the patties, like at Trader Joe's. He cleaned his plate. I use to always order wings. Not sure if they are still on the menu, but if you like wings, order them. Salt and pepper style.
Great spot for drinks and a view! The entrance is a little confusing due to another restaurant sharing the downstairs patio in the building but they have a nice upstairs layout that has beautiful views of the beach. Our server Jason was awesome and made great recommendations. We ordered the Sauvignon Blanc and the fire dancer cocktail. The fire dancer is a blood orange margarita and is phenomenal. My wife order the Miso Ceasar salad and added catch of the day protein which ended up being sea bass. My wife really liked the lightly seasoned grilled fish which was moist and delicate. The fisherman stew was recommended by Jason so I ordered it and I was not disappointed. It had lots of seafood! Wild salmon, shrimp, scallops, calamari and mussels in a tomato broth and fresh bread. Great on a cool day at the beach. Highly recommend!
We came during happy hour and between the holiday crowd and limited parking, finding a spot was difficult and required a longer walk than expected. Once inside, we waited about 10 minutes to be seated and another 12 minutes before being waited on. Food came out in sections. The smashburger was disappointing -- the bun was dry and the burger tasted like it wasn't freshly cooked. The coconut chicken, however, was absolutely amazing and easily the highlight of our visit. The pretzel and beer cheese were average; the pretzels were dry and tough, likely kept in the warmer too long, and the sauce saved the dish. The biggest issue was the fries. We waited 45 minutes for them and they arrived at the end of our meal. While they appeared fresh-cut, most were soggy and overly greasy. The waiter did comp them, which was appreciated, but both my husband and I felt sick after eating them. Our waiter, Jeff, seemed all over the place and not very attentive, mostly blaming the kitchen staff without checking in the back for our order. I had to ask another waiter staff for our fries. The suggested 18%+ tip and a 3.99% card charge felt excessive for the level of service. The views and vibe are great, but overall the food and service need improvement. A solid 3-star experience with room to grow.
Location location location! I mean if you're not at Lahaina for that on the beach feels this is very close. Food is top notch for these types of establishments and drinks are good. Just look at view

Decided to try again & so happy I did! Came on a late Monday & had much better service. Decided to try the "Skrewball PB freeze" & that was absolutely amazing!!! It's a chocolate ice cream shot with peanut butter whiskey!! I'll definitely be back! Views are still 10/10! read more
First thing, you'll be hard pressed to find a place to eat and have a beer with a better view. Second, if you are there at sunset they do a sunset shot, where the bartender gives a toast. If you have a special occasion like an anniversary, you can ask them to mention it during the toast. Very cool to be part of that. I got the Poke bowl, my friend and his girl both got Mahi tacos. Pretty good food here, good ambiance (ocean view), nice service people. Not mind blowing food and the quality isn't INSANE but definitely worth coming to:) We really enjoyed the shrimp tacos, cauliflower tacos, and fries this night. I have been in the past for breakfast however, and my pancakes were half raw....but I've had great experiences other than that. Online it says it's closes at 11pm, but they actually closed way earlier...(it was Sunday, but still). We showed up around 8pm and we had to rush to order. read more
Beautiful oceanfront views and a great bar vibe. Service was attentive and on point throughout our visit. I tried the calamari (3/5). It was crispy with decent flavor, but nothing particularly memorable. The guacamole (3/5) was fresh and served in a generous portion, though I personally would have liked a bit more seasoning and flavor. We did end up asking for extra chips to finish it. My friend ordered the Mai Tai and really enjoyed it. Overall, a nice spot for drinks and views. read more

The view is wonderful and decor so cute (not even just the holiday/christmas decor, but the MCM beach vibes!) the ocean view was gorgeous!! * The big stand out for me was their happy hour - price for proportion and quality ooowie don't sleep on it!! The smash burger $10 (+$2 for side fries) was big and delish and the $5 fish tacos were big and really delightful!! I don't find myself in the area too often, but would definitely go back for happy hour!! * I only give 4 star vs 5 due to at first they seemed perhaps a. It short staffed and service was a bit slow, but wasn't really a big deal - would recommend to a friend! read more

I love Wonderland mostly because of the view but also because you can get really good food and drinks with that view. The service is always on point. They're very kind and I always come during a weekday so I never have a wait. The food is always quick. I will say the last time I went the beer I got was flat so I don't know if I would say it's the highest quality beer, but their cocktails are always yummy. This last time I went I got the half sandwich soup combo and I got a BLT, which was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend bacon was really crispy and all of the vegetables were very fresh. The chowder was hearty. I really enjoyed this combo. read more

This is one of the best sunsets viewing places in point, Loma! They are incredibly friendly there from the hostess to the waitress to the owner! Try to get there just before sunset because everyone sings and gives a toast as the sun is setting!!! Whether you are visiting or a local, this is a must see! Went here during my 4th of July with a big group of 12 and they were able to accommodate our group. We got there early and sat at the bar to watch the US vs Belgium World Cup game. We did put in a reservation ahead of time and they let us know when our table was ready. We got a lot of drinks, appetizers and entrees and the service was incredible throughout. The clam chowder was sub-par. By far the best thing on the menu was the spicy lemon pepper chicken! Might be the best wings I've ever had! The surf and turf burger was both unique and delicious. I've never seen a burger with shrimp and hollandaise sauce on it but man, was it good. Since we were visiting, we kept seeing the skrewball on the menu, which is a shot of peanut butter whiskey that is frozen/in shake form. It was realllly good too! A little bit on the pricier end, but kind of what you would expect for a restaurant right on the water. Overall, excellent experience and will definitely go back just for those wings! read more

What can I say- we're creatures of habit! We love the vibes of Wonderland! Whether it's Wednesday night for drum circle or an early week night watching the sunset, this place brings me happiness with their food and vibes. We always get the Guac, my cauliflower taco (that's always filling), and my husband loves the Woco Moco. Our server was attentive and quick to take our order! Every time we have family in town, we bring them here and for a good reason. Love this place! read more

The view is cute but only if you get specific tables. Host department is chaos. The girls looked overwhelmed or confused. When we asked the girl who wrote our name down to see how much longer for our table, she said that a new host was on the clock so the list was a new one and we had to sign up again .?! Ridiculous lol. The place felt a bit overwhelming so we just got a drink from the bar and left but it was actually delicious. I got a oaxacan mai tai mezcal. (The bar was so packed too, luckily there was a open bench where nobody wanted to sit bc of the direct sunlight coming in so I took it while I had my drink. ) read more
We unintentionally went to this place for brunch because OB surf Lodge was an hour long wait. And I'm so glad we did! I had not been to this bar in a few years and completely forgot how Chic it has become! Plenty of seating and gorgeous uncomparable ocean views for any meal! They weren't serving their brunch menu because it was New Year's Day so we just ordered from their lunch menu but it was still very tasty and great way to start the new year. Fabulous drinks with attentive service and ocean views that can't be beat! We sat at the bar and were warmly welcomed by the bartenders who checked on us frequently during our stay. Our Spanish Gin & Tonics were spot-on and expertly crafted. Wonderland's atmosphere by the beach was exceedingly friendly and conversations with nearby patrons flowed freely and warmly. Then, at the magic moment just before sunset, the bartenders served free shots to all the patrons and led a toast to the beautiful sunset by the sea - an amazing evening tradition! We came for brunch on a Saturday around 11 & was able to get seated right away. Both my friend and i ordered the Ube French toast, the presentation was beautiful but i would not order it again. It's big enough to share, we both only finished half. It was very soggy from the Ube cream being in both the middle & on top so we couldn't really take it home to finish it either. The taste wasn't as good as i expected so i was kind of disappointed Service was very slow also but the view was beautiful read more
I've been to Wonderland several times for breakfast/brunch and it's always good! They have interesting brunch cocktails and a good selection of savory breakfast choices. The ricotta scramble is a classic simple breakfast and I usually get a side of sausage with it which comes with 4 good sized pieces! Our server was friendly and made sure we all had drinks etc. And of course a beautiful view! read more
We came to Wonderland for a casual family dinner and had a good time overall. The views here really are the best in OB--sunset over the water, good people-watching, and that chill, friendly bar vibe that makes you want to stay for one more drink. Service was great too--super attentive without being overbearing. We shared the pretzels and steak nachos to start--both were solid, though nothing that totally wowed us. I ordered the woco loco, which I was really excited for, but it was way different from the original version I love. The flavors were bold, just not what I expected. On the kid front, the burger was a hit (my nephew crushed it), but the chicken tenders weren't what my niece was hoping for--more of a panko-style thing, and she wasn't into it. Tacos here are huge, but just a heads up--they're about $7-$9 each, so it adds up fast. Still, between the views, good service, and that easygoing OB energy, I'd definitely come back--probably just try something else off the menu next time. read more

We went with the house favs, OB burrito which was a breakfast burrito made with eggs, potatoes, beans, bacon, and sausage covered in sour cream and enchilada sauce. This is a very popular dish however mine was missing a few components and that's fine because what happened next was Italian French toast. This was, "get in my belly" good! So good, there are no photos! We cannot believe it was gone within minutes. Absolutely fantastic! I was also told that the bagel and locs were fabulous as well. The view, the food, the company, the service, all equal the perfect summer day! Of course we will be back, just look at our plate! Definitely recommend if you want to play tourist or have to give out some ideas to a tourist. read more
I had an okay experience here. Almost left in the beginning since there was no host for a few minutes but then she came out and sat us right away. We got a nice spot by the window. I do think the view was nice and they keep the windows super clean. I ordered the clam chowder fries which are better as a shared appetizer for sure and not an entree. This was on me since it is supposed to be a shareable lol. I thought they were mostly cheese fries with a waft of clam. We also got the ceviche which was nicely flavored and tasted fresh. Though, we were expecting this to come out first and not all together. Drinks also came out quickly and were standard. It's moderately priced but the view makes it better. read more
I came across this place and thought I'd give it a try. The place gets packed but the views overlooking the ocean were amazing. Upon arrival, it was tad bit unorganized as we had people just walking in and sitting down but nonetheless was seated pretty quick in an optimal spot. Nachos with Steak was ordered and it was delicious. It's great that this place actually serves steak with the nachos as opposed to others where they serve it with ground beef. Drinks as well were amazing I just can't recall what I ordered but it was pink. I will probably visit this spot again when I come back to OB. read more

We are not accepting reservations at this time and are first come, first served.
Before I schedule a small group meetup - is it a regular sports bar? Aztecs game is sunday at 1:00 on CBSSports Network and am trying to find a place for us to watch
The left side of Wonderland is more of a sports bar vibe, and I'd say the right side of the bar is more of a dining room with loud music; both sides have a large bar with a ton of tvs with sports playing.
Is it dog friendly?
The health department does not allow us to have pets in the restaurant.
Anyone know what time the kitchen closes?
Hi Katie. Our kitchen closes at 10pm.
Do they still do the free shot at sunset?
Yes they do, I get them when I sit at the bar counter. They still do the sunset toast everyday!
Are dogs allowed here?
Wonderland upstairs is not pet friendly, but their sister restaurant downstairs is pet friendly.
Is there a weekend happy hour?
I'm uncertain but they do have plenty of specials on their menu ! Everything is incredible with amazing customer service!
Is there a lobster taco deal on a certain night of the week?
We do have Taco Wednesday specials from 6-10pm, but unfortunately the lobster taco is not included. Hope this helps!
Do they air the raider games?
It's a classy lunch spot not a sport bar. They serve awesome food with awesome view of the pear there is no tv there sry
