This is for the chicken wings! I came today at around 2:35 PM and the bar was pretty empty, there were only two other locals beside me. I ordered a full order of buffalo wings (12 pieces) $17.00 to take out, It came with a choice of ranch or bleu cheese as well as celery. The bartender was taking my order and also making my order as well. I would like to also mention here that they're also doing the 1/4 lb burger + fries + beer for $10.00 until 5:00 PM dine in only. Back to the wings: they were plump, delicious and succulent. This is a local dive bar and I believe the best time to order food for take out is in the afternoon at between 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM when the bar usually less busy and the bartender still in a good mood. read more

My boyfriend and I come here a lot to play pool or get drinks. We got food for the first time after a friend recommended the Cheezsteak Sandwich. I thought it was OK. I prefer AZ and Raglan's cheesesteak sandos. Burger was decent and a great deal before 7pm where burger and beer are only $10. A lot of dudes were coming in and ordering that deal. The drinks are like any dive bar but the pool table is free albeit in a small space so you have to use a 'short stick' if you want to shoot from one of the sides. :0) A great locals place and bartenders are very nice and friendly. read more

Is the $10 Burger + Fries + Craft Beer San Diego's best lunch special? I'm making a strong argument for that! Basically an $8 beer, $1.50 for the burger and 50 cents for the fries...come ON! Offer good until 6:00 pm daily, I believe. My burger was good- two beautiful tomato slices and grilled red onions, by God! Fries were sort of the natural cut style with skin, seasoned with Old Bay, which is like a hug from my home state of Maryland. Honestly one of the worst local bar experiences I've ever had. On Friday Feb 13th around 9:15pm my cousins and I had just sat down on the barstools and right away the bar tender (middle aged American woman, with brown hair) was not happy about us ordering our own drinks and paying right away instead of starting one tab. She proceeded to be excessively rude to us after that. My cousin finally ordered a drink from her and she kept on cursing at us saying "I don't know what the f!ck that is" and proceeded to make side comments to other customers. it was really obvious she did not want to attend us so we had to leave. It sucks because we've been to this bar multiple times and never had this problem with any bartender. Very unacceptable behavior from her, I pray she learns how to be a proper bartender. read more

Don't go to any dive bar besides the tilted stick here in SD. This place is the TRUTH! I was in town visiting for a friend's wedding and I wanted a beer and some wings after hours. And mannn this place did not disappoint. The hot honey wings were the best damn wings I've ever had in my life. No BS. Also make sure to get the cajun fries. They were delicious. Love this spot. Ordered the burger to split with my husband. ($10 burger/fry/beer Monday-Saturday) So good we had to get a second. Plenty of TVs to catch the game and all the staff is super friendly. If you don't have anything but great things to say about this place you probably just suck as a human being in general. read more

I had just seen the episode from Community where the group runs a chicken strip business so I was hankering for chicken strips. Pros: the chicken strip basket came loaded with fries that had an amazing seasoning. By the end I was full. Cons: note the size of the chicken strip in the picture. You get 5 of those. They're roughly the size of a finger ranging in size from thumb to middle. It was also tough and chewy. Perhaps the other food is fine, but try elsewhere for chicken strips. Also not a huge deal but I got my meal to go and didn't get napkins. Which again isn't bad, just inconveniencing. read more

This place has good deals. 10$ for a burger fries and any drink. The burger was good too. The drinks are solid as well and the bartenders are really nice and accommodating. You will love this dive bar. Great food (in particular wings, fish tacos, burger special) In fact I'd say this bar has oddly delicious bar food. Also friendly cool bartenders and best prices around. Cold beer and no bullshit. The crowd can look freaky but they're all secretly nice people and friendly. This has been my favorite bar for years, even when I lived in 92109 and 92103. I was having a burger and drink at this bar after going to dog beach. After my burger was gone I got up to walk my dog around and get another drink when I came back out my dog approached another dog at a table, the owner was super rude and said he was going to have his dog bit my dogs face off I said "holy" and another guy starts yelling at me and as im exchanging words with him a gurl at that table starts yelling at me, next thing I know the bar tender is out there grabbing my drink, the cook his holding me while the lady brings her dog over to bits me!! Im unsure what type of establishment this is, but I spent $40 and was attacked. I called the cops but the lady with the dog left before they could come. I would not recommend any one who is not a regular to go to that place. Its a shame, because I enjoyed my burger and time there besides that. I called to ask what the owners name was and the bar tender was extremely rude. I called back and the cook was rude and hung up on me, so I called back and after again asking for the owners name I got it and will be calling back in the morning. I will also be back to look for the girl and dog who attacked me and will have the dog put down, seeing that its locals and their normal spot I dont think that should be to hard! read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The ambiance is lacking, and regulars take advantage of customers. The bar also charged for extras that weren't requested, and scammed few dollars for their own pocket books. Overall, it's not a welcoming place--if you're visiting, it's best to steer clear. read more

They have a sign that says f*** yelp. Which I find hilarious but also shows right away you will probably get crap service. Even though they don't care, maybe you should at the very least acknowledge someone sitting at the bar after making eye contact multiple times. The bartender sucked... everything else I enjoyed. Is the food gourmet? No, it's bar food and at a great price. All the ball games were on. Dog friendly. Cold beer. Can't ask for much more. Being a transplant from Detroit I love dive bars, I'm sure I'll be back but damn I'd like to get a beer faster than 20 mins on a slow Wednesday night. I'm sure because we weren't her regulars that's why we were skunked for a while. Really wanted to love this place. read more

I love me a good dive bar and The Tilted Stick did not disappoint. When we first arrived we were greeted by the very friendly bartender and some seriously AMAZING happy hour specials. I ordered a beer before I realized there were HH specials going on but my husband opted for the $6 domestic pitcher. You read that right $6. You can barely buy a single pint of beer for $6 anywhere in SD, let alone an entire pitcher! We were stoked! One of my favorite things about dive bars is that there are always regulars in them and, during our visit, it seemed that not only did everyone know the bartender but each other as well! It made me think, when are we moving to OB?! I know we'll be back to The Tilted Stick to try out some of their yummy looking food and it appears that we MUST try the Bloody Mary bar as well! Maybe one day we'll be the regulars some other first-timers get to meet! read more

4 females weren't "regular" males from this bar. PERIOD. The regulars ordered drinks after hours and were allowed to stay. They (regulars) helped "kick" us out. We tipped $10 on a $19 tab and the bartender was offended that her "people" were talking to non regulars. All of it was unnecessary...I don't recommend this bar if you're not a "regular". Zero stars but it wasn't a choice. read more

I'm so disappointed They must have changed from allll the Yelp reviews stating how they had the best fries and Mahi tacos. I ordered both and the Mahi portion served for me was a sliver to what is depicted on the photos with an overkill on iceberg lettuce and the tomatoes didn't look fresh. The fries were not the seasoned ones either and were sooo bland. For ~$17 + tip, I can think of a handful of other place with better serving tacos and tasting fries. Definitely DO NOT recommend. read more

Ordered a cheeseburger and fries to go, was waiting patiently outside as a couple of locals were drinking on a Monday afternoon. They were clearly intoxicated talking about how Trump is going to take over the country and all of the Jews spell funny words and have silly hats. Not the kind of clientele I usually associate with, but the staff also we're not wearing masks while preparing my food. So not a great start however I did tip them five bucks because they are small business and while I don't agree with what their customers say or how they are taking Covid not seriously, I don't wanna see anyone go out of business but then again I am leaving a one star review so what does that say about me :( read more

I've been frequenting The Stick more often and feel it deserved an updated review. Especially after spending my Thanksgiving morning here drinking a delicious bloody mary made personally for me by the owner Johnny. I love that it's not as busy as the bars on Newport and never too loud to have a chat with a friend over beers and wings. Plus, with laundry next door you can get your chores out of the way while kicking back with a brew. This place is admittedly not for everyone but if you can appreciate a good dive and a cheap beer come check it out. There's always room for one more at The Titled Stick! read more

Afterward, the bartender thanked me by name. My person who is closer to the womb than the tomb forgot their ID. It could have been Justin Bieber, or myself for that matter, but it wasn't going to happen. The burgers would have to be, to go. First impression is the decor is classic, and the place was absolutely immaculate. Later, I noticed the bathrooms were spotless, and perhaps most importantly, there was no graffiti on the walls. It's a class act establishment where civilization survives. There's a back covered patio surrounded by ferns, a great game room, and then the backyard where the food trailer is located. It was Sunday around 2pm, and while talking to the bartender, they mentioned that they had wings out for happy hour and the games. But I had my sights set on the Wagyu burgers. If I must say so myself, it was an excellent choice on my part. The patties were perfectly seasoned, and the toppings mixed with the Wagyu juices to create a delicious little sauce. I happened to have some chips underneath the burger, and they basically became the lucky recipients of all that wonderful burger grease. Very, very yummy. Walking around while waiting for my food, one can't help but notice that the bourbon selection is fantastic. While my person was booted, I can still say that all the employees were cordial, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. No attitude, no nonsense just good service. While it's listed as a dive bar, it's way too chic for that classification. I love a welcoming bars with great burgers, an excellent bourbon selection, and enough character to keep me coming back. Which I plan on doing in force!

This place reveals its character the second you walk in. Its hole in the wall get f***ed up and act tough kinda joint. Cool and all if you are trying to get ready for some MMA or getting ready to get after the guy who stabbed your brother, but if you are looking for a place with any kind of class, stay away. Like I said this is the place to get trashed and act like a jackass, and no one will judge you for it. While I was there, some meat head tried getting under my skin as soon as I got there. I think he was trying to talk trash, but I just didnt really pay enough attention to care. When no one was willing to pay him any attention, he storms out like a big baby knocking over a bunch of cue sticks. This is fine and all, but the bartender didn't even have enough pride in his bar to say something to this idiot. I have never been a fan of places that have employees who dont take pride in their work. What a joke. Walked by with my little dog i unfortunately had ran out of bags asked a girl that was in the bar if she had an extra bag she was super nice was in the front of the bar gave me a bag and the guy she was with was a super big asshole the biggest douche bag I've ever met. Thank dog for cool girls!! I will never think about even going there even somebody paid me too I don't know where these people come from who do they think they are these fucking tools. Worst service ever, bartender was a douche. Me and 4 friends went to try the philly cheese steaks cause we heard they were bomb... Well we wouldn't know cause after a couple drinks and about 45 minutes the bartender / cook had not even started our food. Said he was too busy tending bar. He was busy helping a bunch of pricks who came in way after we had put in our order. We finally told him to forget about it and just give us our money back and he did but was such an a-hole about it. He even told one of my buddies to f u c k off. I thought my buddy was gonna rip him apart, and probably should have... That smug son of a bitch!!! Bad service, Bad attitudes, the worst restroom in San Diego period. Just a complete dump of a bar. The owner has no respect for the place obviously, he can't even clean the spider cobwebs out of the bar. It makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like in the back. Some of the bartenders are cool but most have shitty attitudes and don't have any respect for their job or their bar. The only thing this place has going for it is their wings but thats it. Rename it the Tilted Dicks because thats how they act. If you want a good time and better food go to Mothers or Tiny's. read more

I've ended many pub crawls and the Stick and have never been disappointed. Great bar food, cool place out back to sit and smoke, and if you're lucky enough to get the pool table, it's free. Plus, you can keep a tab open at the bar (which, now that I think about it, is actually quite dangerous for my liver). Maybe it's the cornucopia of shots I drink before I get to this place, but I give it 5 stars! Love it!! read more

Methy bouncer threatened me after I accidentally opened the bathroom door while he was in there. Literally threw my drink out of my hand, pushed me multiple times, tried to instigate a fight. This is unacceptable. Not sure why he was this mad or why he was even working while that crazy. Would not be surprised if he was on meth. This place should not be in business, period. this used to be my favorite bar until this newer younger bartender wouldn't let me change my order of wings from a full order to a 1\2 order only 20 seconds after i placed it. theres no f****** chef in the back there taking orders, the bartener runs the whole store, i come here all the time and this guy has never met me and is giving me the run around worst customer srvice., ruined the whole place for me. read more

About 10 minutes later the female bartender said "we found it on the video and saw him bite you." At that point I thought they would've kicked the group out of the bar but they didn't, which was disappointing. It was nice to be validated and believed in the end but I had been adamant that I had been bit the entire time, and they didn't immediately do much. I had to prove myself. In my opinion, I think they should've taken assault and battery more seriously.
