Some might not see this little cafe on the hill. It has a old school vibe to it. Those in the neighborhood of Visitation Valley know of this cafe. My father took me to this location as a child, it always has a place in my heart. The food might be pricey to some people but have you seen how much things are now. Support a local business. I'm not saying go every day, just go to try it's food. The staff have changed over the years but they are super friendly. My brother & I would go there twice a month. RIP Sailiuta Schwenke. We are visiting from out of down and decided to try this place since it was less than a mile from where we are staying. Absolutely loved it. The service was extremely friendly and helpful. They were really attentive and kept our coffee warm and filled at all times. One of the servers was playful to my child, which is great. I really like how the staff worked together as a team. The food was also delicious. I loved my chicken fried steak and potatoes. My partner ordered a plate that had a fried banana on it.... Visiting family in San Fran and we stopped here after the flight. Very cozy very mom and pop shop atmosphere. The food was awesome the staff and service all on point. You could definitely feel the old school San Francisco vibe there. It wasn't busy at all and the food came out super fast. The only thing that sucked is that I got locked in the bathroom (after eating) for about 10 min hahah but the manager came and helped me out. It happens lol. The last two times i've ordered breakfast here, the quality was not good at all. The waffle I received was very soggy and underdone. The potatoes are very greasy. They also never include utensils or syrup when I order doordash. I tried to give them another chance but I will not be ordering from here anymore. Extremely disappointed......we were starving and after eating we are still starving. We had the Biscuits & Gravy which came with 2 eggs, sausage, & hash browns and Country Fried Steak & Eggs. The biscuits & gravy had no flavor, sausage was not pork sausage it was ???, hash browns were too greasy, fried steak was over cooked and eggs were eggs. This is my first time coming here and I am sooo glad I did. Everything was bomb . I ordered the veggie omelet, country potatoes, pancake and a hot chocolate. Even the hot cocoa is rich and authentic, not like the hot cocoa packs they sell at Safeway. The whipped cream even had sprinkles of chocolate. The veggie omelette was full of flavor, had onion's, mushrooms, green bell peppers etc. the potatoes also tastes good. It had i some onions and so much flavor as well. I also had a side of cantaloupe. It's so juicy, fresh and soft. It was the best cantaloupe I ever had in my life. I even told the people next to me to order it so they can experience what I did. Simple diner ish place. If you're looking for a quick meal, with some nice service at the front, this place could be the local joint you're looking for. I got a popeye's egg white omelette with home fries. Things were cooked decently well, the homefries were not crisp, most everything including the veggies inside the omelette were laden with oil and the liquid from other things cooking on the griddle. It worked well enough tho for a meal after a night out, and things did come out very quickly but it wouldn't be my first choice to be honest. I usually order two hotlink sandwiches for $25.00 that in it self was already a lot deterring me from going every morning for breakfast. Today the price increases to $35 you'd be a fool to spend $16.50 per sandwich and they only use regular home pride bread which is $4.99 a loaf at the grocery store a pack of hot links is $7.99 and eggs are $3-4.00 imagine the price per unit they get buying wholesale from a vendor. B&Js Burgers only wants $9.50 for a link sandwich with egg on a French roll. They are often busy with way more customers than Bayside. My advice if you can't afford to stay in business you should close your doors I get everything is expensive in todays economy but you can't raise your prices if you're not going to also increase quality. I eat out all the time almost everyday at local and large franchises the price increase at Bayside is ridiculous and their food is not worth the price. Searched on Yelp looked at many places and this was the lucky one this time. She's A small little place up in the corner looks like it's family owned . Staff is so amazingly friendly. Establishment is clean and welcoming . Food was great most was made with no salt which is good for those who do not or can not use salt. I had eggs Benedict and each place is different these were not a let down I enjoyed them. Also the mimosa was great I loved how they gave you the bottle so you can make it how you like and know how much champagne you are getting first time getting it like this and enjoyed it.
