Good food - we ordered the standard and crab Benedict's. Service was good. The Mimosa's, although tasty, were poured into what seemed to be the tiniest of champagne flutes. Wish they had been more generous, considering the price! The restaurant was a tad difficult to find, even with Google maps, which led us into the adjacent parking lot. My family and I have been going to Bayside Cafe for many years and we absolutely love this place. The food comes quick, hot and plentiful! Rigo never let's your coffee cup get below half full before he is there. The service is the best. Everybody helps out. My favorite thing about Bayside? These guys are fast! Many a weekend morning I've arrived, ordered, been served, eaten, payed, and been out the door in 40 minutes. A quick breakfast at Bayside is my favorite way to make working on the weekend bearable. My second favorite thing is their delicious, legitimately fresh-squeezed juices. Slamming 6oz of raw beet/apple juice makes the bacon and eggs totally guilt free in my book. And speaking of eggs and bacon: You gotta love the Super Duper special. My son and I love this place! We live in the south bay, but whenever we are going over the GG Bridge to Marin or Santa Rosa etc., we always stop here for breakfast or lunch. I have had breakfast there, but not recently. Last month I was on vacation in Santa Rosa and Sonoma areas, and you know my sister and I stopped here on the way up, and I stopped here again on the way back. Both times I had lunch - their baby shrimp and avocado sandwich was amazing! I had sweet potato fries on the way up, and just the sandwich on the way back. Great friendly service, and the food is always fresh and delicious. I also had a scoop of coffee ice cream (in addition to smoothies as some reviewers mentioned, they do have a variety of ice cream flavors). What a wonderful breakfast we had! I loved the huevos rancheros and good coffee. Hubby had the most fluffy, delicious blueberry pancakes. We shared bacon that was cooked just right. Not greasy and not burnt. Very generous portions! The restaurant was busy on a Sunday afternoon after Christmas (lots of families), but we were seated and served coffee, immediately. I couldn't believe how quickly meals came with such a big crowd. The coffee kept coming and so did milk for the coffee! The service was perfect and friendly. We were asked from time to time if we needed anything. Bayside Cafe is a refreshing change from other Sausalito restaurants filled with tourists. Come in your casual clothes and eat with the locals! I love, love, love this place! The highlight is their fresh squeezed juices but breakfasts are also filling and delicious. They also have an espresso machine and make a perfect latte. I hear their desserts are fantastic as well, though I've never had them. Oh and they have alcohol too. The staff is super friendly and almost always fast about bringing your food, drinks, etc. I come about once a month but there is definitely a crowd that comes weekly, if not daily. Nice little cafe/diner right off the 101 in cutest Sausalito and it seemed for a weekday lunch that a lot of the older locals liked the place. Not posh/fancy, more old school with friendly service and big portions (and it tastes good/fresh too). Sitting in the enclosed "patio" area we had the burgers and shakes (hint both kinds of fries are good). Prices (with the shakes) were around $15 to $20 person so pretty normal for the Bay Area. read more

This quaint place to have Sunday brunch or lunch will surprise you. I had the avocado, tomato, bacon omelette with hash browns and the best homemade sourdough bread! Their coffee was very good and the service was like a Gonga Line refilling your coffee and water the minute their was room in your cup. Awesome service and wonderful breakfast hot and plenty of food. My friends had the Super dupper number 1 and the spinach Benedict with picco de gallo with the homemade English muffins. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the expedience of their service. In order to understand this review, you have to understand my love for Swedish pancakes. My favorite breakfast joint in my hometown has the best Swedish pankcakes in the world, so when I saw that Bayside was offering them on their specials board, I knew I had to get them. Theirs is a thicker version, but nonetheless delicious and rolled up per usual; which made me realize that Swedish pancakes are pretty much the blunt of the breakfast universe. I got mine with a side of crispy bacon. The coffee was spot on. My boyfriend ordered a blueberry-banana protein shake to start and went with the traditional pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs. It's nice to have the option of protein shakes and fresh squeezed juices. As I am in the area until November, I definitely see myself returning. read more

Every year I bring my family here when they visit and they love it : the service is great, the food is amazing and the ratio price / quantity is probably the best in the Bay Area. It's very good for diner food. We had a group of nine people and they accommodated us very quickly. We sat on the "balcony" equivalent and it was extremely muggy, I felt sticky and gross after eating. I had a basic breakfast with eggs, bacon, and a waffle. The bacon I asked for extra crispy -- because soggy bacon is gross-- and about half was cooked. The waffle was DELICIOUS!! Crispy and soft, if I happen to go back I will get it again. Service was fair, I never got asked if I wanted a drink and coffee was only refilled twice the whole time me were there -- about an hour. Overall I would go back, but not in a hurry. read more

The staff has all been a part of the restaurant for years and they are very friendly and efficient. It can be a packed house and you still get exceptional speedy service. Within 24 hours, we've been there twice, once for lunch and once for breakfast. We love the place. It is a great family owned and operated spot that has everything you might be craving for. The smoothies and juices from the juice bar are made with fresh fruits and veggies. The turkey burgers were great. Waking up from a night out with fellow yelpers, I had a pain in my stomach. It gurgled, rumbled, it seemed to talk to me... all just saying "Feed me. Feed me now. Bitch." Perhaps it was all those beers I had the night before that relieved me of any pain, sensibility or really any sanity, but I was ready for breakfast. Andy F and his bf were going to take me to Muir Woods and said they knew the perfect spot to go before hand. Since I was pretty much at their mercy, I replied with a nod and I, by myself, (ahem.. Joe C), hopped in to the shower and we were off. We were off over the bridge and not through the woods when we settled down by the famous house boats. My hunger was nearly over taking me at this point and there for insanity was coming soon. We walked in to this small, friendly place, plenty of smiles on the staff and even better a lot of smiles on the faces of the people sitting at the tables and booths. Sweet. That's a good sign to me. We plopped our rears at a booth and I poured longing looks at all the menu. I was going big time. I got their omelet with their chicken apple wood smoked sausage, zucchini, avocados, cheese, hash browns on the side and of course, because I was insane, an order of 3 pancakes. Told you I was hungry and insane. When my pile of food arrived I was thanking Sweet Jebus for its appearance. I quickly moved from savoring the deliciousness to inhaling my food. The omelet was cooked light and fluffy and stuffed with all those tasty ingredients, but more importantly not heavy. The pancakes were a little firm and a little dry... but nothing five trees worth of maple syrup couldn't fix. I think I actually finished my meal of two before Andy and his bf called it quits on theirs. Was I stuffed? Nope, just pleasantly full, which was good because we were going to hike a little in Muir Woods and I needed all the energy I could. Prices were good. Service was quick and spot on and the food was tasty. Yes, it is all the way over in Sausalito. Would I come here and skip all the luscious breakfast places in the city? Nope. This little diner was hopping on a Thursday afternoon! We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, but seeing as they were so busy it was completely reasonable. Despite being so busy our food was out really quickly after we ordered, which was great because we were all pretty hungry. There were tons of different, delicious options for our party of six that included vegetarians, meat-etarians, and picky eaters. I have been to Bayside at least a half a dozen times in the past three months. It has always been amazing with the best pancakes in Marin and very friendly servers. Not so today. They are NOT a gluten free friendly place. We spoke with the manager (who was beyond snarky and rude) and she did not understand cross contamination between a gluten free pancake and a regular pancake being cooked on the same griddle. They use the buzz words "Gluten Free" in their menu, but don't be mistaken, there is cross contamination happening. If you are gluten free for a diet, you should be safe, but if you are gluten free for medical reasons, go somewhere else. Our server was very nice and took our order, which I saw her write down correctly (simple changes/substitutions). When our food came about 25 minutes later, our food was not what we ordered. When we waited to tell a server or the manager, the manger blamed it on the server. When our food finally came, it was sub-par. Way below the standard I have come to expect from Bayside. It was nothing special. Will I return to Bayside? Probably not any time soon. Or when that snark filled manager isn't there. And definitely NOT with anyone that is gluten sensitive. PS - they do not have a way to toast their gluten free toast. They microwave it. Yes, microwave gluten free bread. So, basically, warm soggy cardboard. read more

Liked this place, though Adam found ice-cold spots in his fried chicken. I had the foccaccia chicken-and-mushroom sandwich with aioli and caramelized onions. Excellent. I also loved how they did the fries -- all crinkly and crisp. Service was almost too attentive. Very convenient to the Issaquah Dock, where we went to go see an art show at the houseboats.
