When you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Downtown Sausalito during tourist season, just a couple of blocks away is the Sausalito Gourmet Delicatessen. It is such a hidden gem and their peaceful back patio transports you miles away from literally the crowds just a few blocks away. The owners and friendly and the gyro was delicious. That patio is so serene that you may want to just spend some time reading out there.

Nice little neighborhood place away from all the tourist places. Large sandwich menu. Really nice seating in the back garden. About a ten minute or so walk from the ferry . I had a really good BLT and husband had a ham, turkey and cheese. They toasted the Dutch Crunch roll and it was really good.

I love this sandwich shop. Locally owned by a couple, and it's been in business for decades. The sandwiches are fantastic, and the outdoor patio with a water fountain is the perfect area to relax and enjoy your sandwich. I can see why it's been in business so long! They have tons of options including sandwiches , salads, gyros, sodas, and even bottles of wine. I got the gourmet deli sandwich with mortadella and salami. So good! Each sandwich is made with care, so it's not a super quick grab and go place, but the do offer it to-go. The couple making the sandwiches was pleasant. We found parking easily in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Amazing, made to order, delicious, sandwiches!!! Such a cute place in the heart of Sausalito! A must stop and order anything off the menu! I had the prosciutto sandwich, and OMG....such a quaint deli!

This is a wonderful old school deli with so many wonderful choices it was hard to choose! Finally settled on a BLT on whole wheat and the Gourmet Special on a french roll. Both were very filling and delicious. We also had a chocolate brownie that was decadent and fudgy. We were helped by the owner who was very nice. He uses an old time cash register and counted back our change to us. It was so refreshing to see someone still do that. We sat in the back garden area and it was beautiful and so quiet, even with others enjoying their meals. I highly recommend this place if you are ever in the area.

Great sandwiches. Many side choices available. Nice location to sit outside. Simple and nice. Clean and friendly.

Prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato on toasted ciabatta - delish!

Walking into this deli feels like walking back in time. It's been family owned since 1975...so almost 50 years! Wow! The original owners, a sweet husband and wife team from Greece, still run it. I imagine it's busy at peak breakfast and lunch time. I stopped in later in the afternoon around 1:30/2:00pm on a weekday and there were just two people ahead of me. Although the setting has an old-timey feel (lots of wood, European memorabilia, and likely the original menu board), the food and treats are fresh and appealing! I ordered a lunch special sandwich to go: prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato, and pesto on toasted ciabatta. Delish! Perfect ratio of ingredients and beautiful, fresh flavors. The deli has a few tables inside and a few more on their pretty back outdoor patio. What a treat and fun discovery. I'll definitely visit again when I'm in the area. Note: it's tucked back from the street and easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Look for it! It's worth it!

What a darling little family owned deli in Sausalito! We were drawn to this spot for a quick lunch while walking the Sausalito area. It's a bit off the main area/shoreline, but worth it for this gem. The interior is classic deli vibes, with a large amount of fare for sale, plus a huge drinks wall and a deli. The deli menu is written on a chalk board with tons of different options and offerings. We arrived around lunch time, and there was a line. The service was friendly but moved really slowly - my only reason for docking a star here. It took roughly 30 minutes from waiting in line, getting our order in, paying, and waiting for our sandwiches which felt like a lot. I love the attention to detail they gave each sandwich, but some aspects were not overly efficient. However, the sandwich itself was amazing! They had gluten free bread and I got a classic turkey club with bacon. It hit the spot on a sunny day. We ate in their stunning backyard patio, covered by a gorgeous tree canopy with a water fountain trickling in the background. Vibes 10/10 here - highly recommend eating onsite if you can!

This is an insanely charming, local, mom and pop delicatessen that is well worth anyone to stop in while in Sausalito. We ended up here based on the (well deserved) Yelp rating, and had no regrets. When you walk in, it's a very cute sandwich shop, that also carries some pre-packaged goodies, chips, and drinks. The menu above the deli is very old school, think handwritten with loads of information. I loved it. You'll wait in a line until it's your turn, then order at the counter and they'll call your order out when it's ready. Seating is mostly outdoors in their lush backyard garden. I had a BLT on dutch crunch (you've gotta get dutch crunch while in the bay area!) and it was delish! My only critique of this place is that if you happen in when it's busy it can be a very long wait to order, and receive your sandwich. The food is great, and if you aren't in a hurry I'd definitely recommend.

I'm actually obsessed with this delicatessen. This might've been the best sandwich ever? NBD. This is a very down-to-earth and old school deli with tonssss of home made sides, salads, dips, and sauces, plus a wide array of deli meats and sandwich options. They had endless options of chips, snacks, and drinks that you don't find at other delis often. I think it's family owned because the only employees here was a cute older couple that was taking orders, making sandwiches, and running the place. Their outside space behind their building is absolutely adorable. That's where their seating is. There's fountains, flowers, greenery, and had truly such a nice and nature-y ambiance. Now onto the sandwich. I got the turkey bacon avocado sandwich on toasted nine grain wheat that came with mayo, tomato, and lettuce. I wanted to marry this sandwich. No joke. Every ingredient was so fresh and I loved the bread. I'm usually iffy with mayo but I loved their mayo. I can't explain it, it was just a freaking dang good sandwich. I highlyyyyy recommend this place for a life-changing sandwich!

It's hard to find sandwiches with real homemade meats and lots of veggies and homemade sauces that aren't mustard or Russian dressing. I also love the Twerks, which is the delicious veggie topping combo you can get on your sandwiches: Spinach, Arugula, Cucumber, Carrots, Radish, Beets, Green Sprouts & Bean Sprouts, Salt, Fresh Lemon, Pepper, Roasted Garlic and Roasted Red Bell Pepper Sauces. I've tried some of the veggie wraps, my partner loves the pork sandwiches, and my daughter gets a grilled cheese on Dutch crunch. All delicious. The only negative is that the sandwiches are expensive and take a while but the quality and flavor make it worth it. We usually call ahead to order so we don't have to wait long.

This is one of those places that just kind of feels like home…read more I've been stopping by this market for as long as I've been hiking in the Golden Gate Area, which is over a decade. Some of Good Earth's items are on the super pricy side, but some are also reasonable. The deli and bakery items are usually pretty good. This was the first place I ever found Sjaak's chocolate. Sadly, they no longer exist, but I used to always stop by for their Hearts of Cherry after hiking around Mt Tam. Today I stopped by for whatever looked good enough to buy, which happened to be a pesto chicken calzone from the hot deli case, a slice of chocolate cake that looked too good to be $5, some roma tomatoes, and a blueberry banana water. The pesto chicken calzone had decent flavor, but it literally had like half a cup of grilled onions on it. Like, there was an entire opaque layer of grilled onion. Adding onions to compensate for less meat is one of the oldest Italian tricks in the book, and is the basis of many great recipes. In this case, it was a little much. Also, the crust didn't have any flavor, but for $10, for this area, it wasn't bad. The chocolate cake was the worst chocolate cake I've ever had in my life. It should have been labeled "iced biscotti," because that's about how dry it was. After a few bites, I had to double check to make sure I didn't accidentally grab an expired piece. It was so dry!! Okay, so, the cake was a mistake, but everything else was good. Their fresh deli pizzas looked AMAZING, but I did not take one home. Overall, the store is very clean, well lit, and merchandised nicely. My only issue is the twinkie sized stall in the ladies room, with a door that opens inward, trapping anyone who is greater than four inches in diameter between the toilet and the door. Sometimes you seriously have to wonder what kind of psychopath designed women's public restrooms. It's like, if you are larger than an actual Barbie doll, good luck getting in and out without touching the public toilet! So, I actually made two separate purchases. First, I purchased the calzone, and took it back to my car to eat. Noticing that I was surrounded by Teslas and eating disorders, I put up my sunshades so that I could eat in peace, without becoming a TikTok reel. After I finished eating, as I was lowering my sunshade, I caught the man parked next to me in the act of taking a video of me, anyway! My car is ugly enough to make a classist person assume that I'm a homeless person, which I'm sure is what happened in this case. Maybe he was planning to post it on social media as an example of how homeless people were ruining his life. When he saw a nicely dressed woman in a brand new, pretty dress (me) he looked shocked. I looked back and forth between him and his phone which was pointed at me, and glared. He lowered the phone and stared at me, wide eyed and jaw dropped, as if he wanted to explain. I glared at him as hard as I could. Classist rich people harass me like this all the time. As a formerly homeless person, I know that in reality, there's no such thing as "looking homeless." People who "look homeless" are usually housed and struggling with mental health issues, while homeless people who live in shelters are usually very well-groomed. But tell that to the classist rich person who thinks it's funny to take videos of other people and post them on the internet to mock them. I wish it was illegal to do that, but it's not. So if I'm posted on "homeless people of Marin" or something, that's what's up, even though I'm very much housed and employed. A calzone with a side of classism. Not the store's fault. But irritating none the less.
