Gross. The grouper ruben talked about in prior reviews is greasy, salty and without much distinctive flavor. Their "second most popular dish", the fish taco (which Is a burrito or a wrap, but definitely not a taco) is marginally better, but doesn't stand out either. The key lime pie is mostly sugar with a whiff of key lime concentrate. Fair prices, but for very unsatisfying food. read more

Well, knowing the building well I was happy to see it open up again. They made it pretty both inside and out. Appetizers were not bad, but the pizzas were terrible, the crusts were like bread, not pizza sadly, dry with a spongy texture, gourmet pizza I think not. Biggest issue though was that they have a very large golden retriever dog walking around the restaurant with a very nasty looking skin disease, going up to the customers at the tables.......I'm a big dog lover, but this is hardly the place and is extremely unsanitary. If the dog wanders around the restaurant I'm very concerned it also takes its exercise in the kitchen and prep areas. They need to stop this immediately, as I'm sure the authorities who oversee restaurant rules and regulations will have a field day here. read more

Bayside Gourmet is all around fantastic. First and foremost, the food is unique and delicious.The fish dip was herby and fresh and chunky. The rosemary toasted bread they serve it with is to die for. The chicken house special (the Panko encrusted chicken with sundries tomatoes and spinach) was sweet savory and delicious. The portions for everything are huge though, one entree is plenty for two! What really stood out to me though was the genuinely friendly and kind staff. Everyone, from the person who greeted us to the person who brought our dishes out, was so kind in a genuine, not overbearing kind of way. 10 stars if I could. read more

We ordered from this restaurant and the food was very good, we decided to go for lunch and the service ruined our experiece. Our waitress had a attidude and from the second we sat down she was already annoyed with us being there. This spot has now become one of my favorite breakfast places in Islamorada. I had heard good things about it from my family members but had never gone to eat there myself. I was surprised to see that the restaurant was empty on a Saturday morning considering the food was so good. I ordered the breakfast burrito and the pancakes topped with berries and it was delicious. Our server (didn't get her name) had dark hair and tons of personality. Delivered every order from memory and got it perfect! Pasta is made in house and the red sauce was delicious! Even though the dishes seemed a little heavy on the sauce, they were surprisingly light. We had a delicious bruschetta and the tomato/mozzarella tower as apps. Chicken Parmesan was great as was the Pasta Bolognese. I sampled my husband's shrimp from the special and it was wonderful. The garlic bread points were a nice light touch. My family and I were wonderfully surprised with this restaurant from the time we walked in until we left. We had a great lobster bisque followed by some Phillie cheese steaks. Everything was very good including their home-made tea. My wife had a very good salad. For desert, we had key lime pie and my son had the chocolate moose. Both were very tasty! We went to Bayside gourmet on our way to Key West. The place has a very nice and welcoming vibe to it and the staff is wonderful, everyone is friendly and they all kept checking on us all the time. The food was great, we had the special chicken pesto sandwich and the Matecumbe sandwich to share. They were both very good and freshly made. What I appreciated the most is that our waitress advised us against getting a salad in addition to our sandwiches because it would've been too much food for two and she suggested we order a side salad instead.
