The typography of the restaurant name to start with is beautiful - moving on the seating around a big old tree and the plating of the dishes. All the dishes were unique and so different to what I've usually eaten: The mapo tofu comes in an eggplant sauce and the smoked plum tea was just beyond excellent. Such friendly and passionate staff. What a wonderful new addition to the good life here in Forestville. I have been following their IG to get updated on their soft opening, which I sadly missed. Missing it made me even more want to find out what they had to offer. I just absolutely love traditional dishes from the Asian culture, especially the dim sum type. I finally walked in one day and decided to try their grab and go noodles with adobo pork belly and then also grabbed a shu mai to go. So seriously impressed with the combination of vibrant flavors. Extremely savory and filling. You can tell the ingredients are high-quality and fresh. That very same day which was a Friday. my husband and I decided to try their fried chicken Friyay. You can choose from three flavors, we decided to go with a spicy Korean goddess and the other a simpler fried chicken with aïoli sauce. Get an extra side of aïoli you won't regret it. As we waited, we decided to go across the street at Sonoma Pizza co to grab a couple refreshing drinks. We enjoyed our lovely dinner for two outside amongst the big trees and lights. It was a perfect date night. I would highly recommend coming here to try their dishes. I haven't stopped thinking about those grab and go noods. read more

Fabulous food at this unique Chinese restaurant! Its nothing like American Chinese restaurants. The people working here are generous, fun, friendly, kind and beyond excellent chefs. The plates are presented beautifully and they explain the ingredients to you. You can sit at the bar and watch them create their dishes, or in their sweet terrace outside. Today I drove from my home in Santa Rosa to Forestville specifically to have lunch at Bazaar Sonoma. The minute I walked into the restaurant I was welcomed in, seated, and had a nice conversation with what turned out to be one of the co-owners. It was a bit cool and overcast today so I decided to have their Wonton soup. It did not disappoint. The broth was flavorful, lots of perfectly cooked egg noodles, but the star of the dish were the Wontons. Best I've had anywhere in Sonoma County! Next time I visit I want to try the Zhong Dumplings. Love this place so much. The people working here are beautiful and kind and the food is always thoughtful and SO well-seasoned. I love being able to grab a roasted corn tea or jar of chili crunch to-go. The dumplings or wonton soup are both an excellent go-to but you can always trust any special or new item they put out. Wow- we are so excited to have amazing Asian food in Forestville. Went today for lunch with our teen son who's a big Chinese food fan. We've tried most every dumpling place from SF to Napa, and this restaurant was outstanding for both their delicious dishes and friendly service. We ordered most everything hot on the menu. The pork dumplings with roe and ramen were a favorite as was the bang bang chicken and jasmine tea. The owners are excited to be in the community and were open to ideas (we think 'to go' frozen dumplings would be in demand to cook at home) and they are considering private dumpling making classes- which sound so fun! read more

Absolute gem of a restaurant. Its clear they are using very high quality ingredients and prepared very thoughtfully. We ordered all of the dumplings. Each one was great. They were the stars of the show. Each were very unique. The cold dishes were all very good as well. The silken tofu was as good as I've ever had. The Noodle dish was a bit flat in flavor, however the noodles themselves were perfect. Its first come first serve with limited seating inside and since its getting cold out I will definitely be dressing warmer so I can sit outside next time if need be. read more

We went to Bazaar last night and this is the best Chinese restaurant in Sonoma County. It's like going to the Mission in SF, only minutes away and easy to park. We had three dishes and all were excellent, our favorite was the Mapo Tofu. It says its spicy and it was but with some rice not too spicy. The won ton noodle soup was also excellent as was the juicy bok choy. They were out of bok choy so they used a Chinese broccoli that was delicously wonderful. We liked the dishes with a bit of the broth from the Tofu. The dumplings looked excellent too. Service was super helpful, efficient and very friendly. It's a very nice place with a very pleasant big bar where we sat. They don't have a liquor license yet but when they do it will be the place to go. There are also tables outside but it's a little cold for outdoors now, in a few months it will be OK. One suggestion for them is to add Xiao Long Bao AKA Shanghai dumplings to the menu. Yum yum, we'll be back. read more

I was eager to try this new Chinese food restaurant. When we arrived all tables were taken. A line of tall stools at a counter were available and non were occupied. I sat in one of those stools and decided to leave not having even seen a menu. The stools had no back which would be difficult after a while but also the stools were so tall i could not rest my feet on either the floor nor the foot rest. I doubted I could just hang and balance for long, so we opted to leave and dine elsewhere. It's too bad because the welcome was friendly and i was eager to try the food. read more

Having lived in the East Bay for a long time prior to moving up here, I admittedly became a bit snobbish and spoiled when it came to Asian cuisine. Sonoma has many decent choices and some solid Japanese, but few Chinese restaurants that are unique, authentic and go beyond the standard American Chinese restaurant fare. Until now. My wife and I came to Bazaar Sonoma for our wedding anniversary (she heard great things and suggested it, knowing what I love), and it was *incredible.* Their regional, traditional Chinese fare was absolutely delicious and different (no orange chicken here!). We literally savored every bite of the meal. The sizzling black cod was a big winner (I make a similar dish, and my wife gently broke it to me that theirs was better); the smashed cucumbers, silken egg custard and bok choy were perfectly prepared and flavorful. At the time of our going, they'd only been open 4 weeks, so they still are developing. Afternoon dim sum is on the agenda. They also call it a "third place" gathering spot between home and work, encouraging people to drop by for a small bite (not just a full meal). It was very worth the drive from Santa Rosa, and we'll definitely be back. If you want delectable Chinese food that's a lot closer than SF or Oakland, get over there. read more
