I ordered the prime ribeye grilled steak, with mash potatoes and streamed vegetables. The presentation of the dishes were beautiful And appeared fresh. But the whole grilled steak appeared 'grilled' but was dripping in grease/fat . The fat on the steak remained dripping. I did not enjoy this order because it took me awhile to slice the whole steak into strips, then cubes, by that time the meal became cold. This was work. I would not let this experience deter me from coming back. I would order another item but I do not recommend the grill steak. read more

What a welcome addition to Burbank! I finally stopped in for lunch today with a friend and was thoroughly impressed with the menu and portions! I had the Avocado Tartine with potatoes as my side, and an iced american, and my friend had the Salmon Tartine with Sweet Potato fries! I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors, I loved the addition of goat cheese and fresh sprouts atop the perfectly whipped avocado- I opted for sourdough and boy it was good. The potatoes were seasoned to perfection. I was most pleased with the americano- it was smooth, flavorful, and exactly what I needed. I tip my hat to these folks for bringing some fresh delicious food to my part of town. I look forward to exploring their dinner menu and their wine list! I read a few reviews where people complained the food lacked salt and this place is advertised as being healthy which means less sodium in the food. Luckily for those salt lovers there is salt and pepper on the table to add to taste and hot sauce available upon request. My bf mentioned his food tasted healthier (eggs and even the bacon) which he said didn't taste bad but he did notice the bacon was less greasier than other places. We arrived for lunch, and, were pleasantly surprised that this restaurant has live music. The saxaphonist was terrific. Our server was nice & friendly. We ordered two Florentine Benedicts, and, one orange juice. Our food finally arrived after waiting more than 25 minutes. The eggs for both plates were not properly poached. They were clearly cooked too long as the yolks were very firm. The hollandaise sauce tasted like it came out of jar. The orange juice was fresh, but, bitter. When dining out, I always leave a tip so that the amount charged to my credit card is in whole dollars. After looking at my credit card statement, I noticed that BB Cafe charged an extra $1.90. Fortunately, my credit card company gave me a credit for that overcharge. Due to the overcharge, and, long wait for subpar food, I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

Hate to be the first to leave a "bad" review but after reading the good ones I was really disappointed in what I got. Let me preface: the staff is wonderful, there were no problems with that and the space is clean. I live nearby and wasn't a fan of the California Eatery so I was hoping this would be a legit breakfast place. Pros: -Coffee and lavender latte were good -Salsa that comes with the breakfast burrito was good, the burrito itself was ok but not worth $15 -we were given a free green juice by accident, no comment on the quality because I don't know what a good green juice tastes like. Cons: - Banana "shake" was literally just banana blended with milk for $6 -$15 Ham and cheese crepe was abysmal, the crepe had no cooking marks which leads me to believe they're premade store bought and the filling was nothing more than sliced ham and a slice of cheese. I also get the feeling they microwave to order because the crepe was hard and dried out, as were the breakfast potatoes that come with it. -the breakfast potatoes that came with the burrito were also lukewarm, hard and tough, I get the feeling they make them all early in the day and zap them to order. Also no seasoning. Overall it seems like this place is another cheap (but not in price) trendy cafe with no heart and soul. I hope they can make some adjustments and start serving fresh food made to order but I definitely don't see myself coming back anytime soon. read more

I have been waiting for this spot to open for a while now so when I drove by and saw the open sign I had to stop. So glad that I did. The location is very warm and welcoming, as is the staff. Having been here when it was the previous restaurant I can honestly say that the improvements they have made were spot on and well thought through. There is ample seating both inside and out. The chairs were comfortable as was the environment overall. The inside provides both table as well as booth seating. Outside there are plenty of tables that are all covered so you can sit outside even on a rainy day. The outside seating also has ample overhead heating so a cold day is not a problem either. As to the menu. There is something for everyone. I have been here twice now and tried both a breakfast item as well as lunch. I was not disappointed with either. The savory crepes were flavorful and presentation was spot on. I also tried the vegan breakfast sandwich and was super happy with it. The bread was soft and the sandwich itself was simple but yet flavorful. The salmon tartine was also a treat for me. The salmon was fresh and had great texture and flavor to it and the mix was equally as tasty. As far as the coffee is concerned. It was amazing. Again presentation was great and the coffee flavor was wonderful as well. Prices are more than fair and affordable on pretty much any budget. I've been here twice now, once months ago when I got their breakfast burrito and tonight, when I got the chicken schnitzel sandwich and the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The onion in the pico de gallo overwhelmed all the other flavors in the burrito and the chicken sandwich was incredibly bland. I ended up adding condiments at home. My girlfriend, who go the grilled cheese and soup said it was just fine. And, inexplicably, they still don't have a menu up on their website (or anything for that matter). I had a delicious dinner here tonight. I loved the tasty Apple & Fig salad and my husband had the Classic Caesar salad with chicken. (He asked for it to be blackened). Which he said was very good!
