This place makes some very good chicken. Sorry Korean Fried Chicken to be specific. I can't review the venue as this was a delivery order for me but the chicken was amazing. Now it's on my list to try more of the flavors. I ordered the plate lunch that comes with rice and a choice of Coleslaw or Mac Salad. I ordered my plate with all rice this time however next time will try the coleslaw. It was a difficult decision picking a flavor but decided to start with the Special Sauce. I figured it has to be the house sauce which tells me more about the restaurant. This sauce is spicy and sweet and reminded me of a tteokbokki sauce. I love a good Tteokbokki! It comes all over the golden crispy chicken which, I think, is the standard. I ate 2 pieces of chicken before trying anything else. I love the sauce. My daughter had the same thing I did and her BF had the Soy Garlic wings. She also brought home her leftover fries covered in the Honey Garlic sauce which was so ono. I can imagine that if they had been fresh, it would have been even better. They were still crispy even cold. There is a slight spicy kick after you eat a few but it's not overwhelming. Hands down the best Korean fried chicken place on the island. I am a big fan of Korean fried chicken and this was absolutely the best for my family and I. Chicken stays crispy even after a few hours. The chicken was juicy and tender and the flavor was great! We tried the soy garlic, honey garlic, secret sauce and original. They were all good and tasty. Soy garlic was our favorite and very savory. If you want tangy go with secret sauce. More sweet go with honey garlic. Just straight up crunchy juicy fried chicken, the original was great too. You can order half and full order of just chicken wings (bone in or boneless) or they even have plates if you just wanna grab a bit. I always eat Korean fried chicken with daikon and it is soooo yummy. The restaurant was very clean, simple but cute decor and the workers have always been pleasant. For $11.99 Mini Boneless you get 4 large pieces of chicken, rice & choice of mac salad or coleslaw. Now THAT'S a GOOD DEAL. I ordered honey garlic, and my wife ordered soy garlic. Both are amazing. Probably the place closest to this style and flavor is Good Chicken (more comparisons down below). The skin is deep fried for sure but not so overly oily, almost "delicate" in crispiness. Meat inside is juicy succulent. I loved both flavors but was happier with my choice - slightly sweet and savory. The soy garlic also super savory but with a slight spicy kick to it, very pleasing. Mini Boneless also quite filling! And for that price, practically a no-brainer. When ordering, thought about getting a bucket for takeout for later. After finishing, could NOT think about more food, so full. One advantage of Good Chicken is the confidence of being nut-free so that our son can have it. bb.q doesn't have any products with nuts, but there's a clear allergen disclaimer front and center relieving them of all liability, which is really a shame. But bb.q has clean sitdown dining, and you can watch (in our case) "Crash Landing on You" on one monitor, KPopusic music videos on the other. Staff super friendly and helpful. We decided to order out which you can do on their website, because well we have a 7 month old and sometimes we just need to stay home and eat. It's a hassle getting us all out. Anyway we ordered 2 plates. I got a secret sauce and my husband got the hot galbi. Both were really good. Some of the stalls right in front of Bb.q Chicken are a 20-minute pickup stall only. Not sure if there's someone really enforcing the stalls in front, so best to just park near the fence. If you're a kpop or even kdrama fanatic and LOVE Korean chicken, then this place is definitely for you! They have tvs that play kpop mvs or even kdramas. It's fun watching while eating really good food! My mom and sisters came here a few weeks after opening for lunch on a Saturday around 11:45 am ish. We ordered way too much food, but everything sounded too good to not order! We ordered: Half Golden Fried Half Secret Sauced Half Soy Garlic The Works Tteokbokki Cheese Tteokbokki Honey Garlic Fries Mandoo We basically ordered all the best sellers, and all the chicken flavors were so crispy and delicious. My sister didn't care for the Secret Sauced because it reminded her of ketchup. She really loved the Golden Fried and ate most of it. It's basically super crispy chicken with no sauce. The Works Tteokbokki had me live out my kdrama dreams because it had egg, tteokbokki, ramen, and fish cake! It was so perfect - not so spicy and big enough to share. The Cheese Tteokbokki was perfect! So cheesy! While the food was great (totally worthy of 5 stars - everything tastes spectacular!!!), the service lacked. When we dined in we were pretty much the only table that dined in. We did place a huge order and didn't realize it was a lot food. It does take awhile for the food to come out because it's freshly made. The Honey Garlic chicken came out towards the end when we were pretty full. There were paper plates and gloves on the counter to use in case you didn't wanna get your hands dirty. The chicken also comes in containers so it's easy to close up if you have any leftovers. There were only 2 people working in the front. When we got our food and started eating, we asked for water which they gave us small cups. We ran out of water and asked for more, but the cashier seemed flustered because lots of people started coming in. The other lady was busy handing and packing orders. We never got our waters refilled. After we were done eating, my sister went to throw the rubbish away and there was also no trash bag in the trash bin either, so we needed to alert the staff and ask them to place a bag in the bin. By that time, it was past 12:45 pm and the place was flooded with customers picking up and placing orders. I would hope by now that they know to have more people working since they're pretty popular! We've had Korean Fried Chicken all over the island and mainland, and my uncle has had it best in Seoul. We came here as a last ditch effort for both of us to find what we thought would be the closest to the best from our travels and we found it here. You have to wait about 20 minutes for your food but it's worth it. The crunch of the chicken is amazing, it's moist, and the sauces they use taste great. I get the spiciest one and my uncle got soy garlic. The batter holds up so well to the chicken, that even when we got home the sauce didn't make it soggy. A new Korean Fried Chicken has entered Hawaii and it lives up to the standards of what Korean Fried Chicken is all about. This location is clean, has ample parking, and is in an ideal location in Aiea. There was one person up front and she was very sweet. She double checked what I ordered and was correct about how long the wait would be. Because we ordered to go, I was a bit concerned about how the taste and the texture of the food would be...however, the results were surprising. The Chicken: We ordered the Golden Fried Boneless Chicken and it was crispy and juicy at first bite. Even with a 20-25min delay, the chicken still tasted crispy. The batter is simple and not super flavorful, but you really enjoy the taste of the chicken this way. It seems that the window in the box and the cardboard texture assisted in keeping the chicken crispy instead of soggy and stale. Definitely will try the other flavors, but considering we wanted Fried Chicken, we are very satisfied with our order. The Cheese Ddeok Bokki: As expected, the Cheese hardened a bit, but I still enjoyed this dish. The ddeok was nicely cooked, al dente if you want to get an understanding of its texture. The sauce was not spicy, bit part of it is probably because of the cheese. But for you non-spicy eaters, this dish will not put a burning sensation on your tongue. The flavor is what you would think if when eating ddeok bokki. It also had fish cake, cabbage, and half a boiled egg. I would totally order this again! Overall, check out this place in Aiea! I order the secret sauce hot wings, fried chicken wings and the cheese ddeok-bokki Man I wish I took a photo but the food did not last. I am 8 month pregnant and ate majority of the fried chicken wings. Best wings I tried on the island. Ddeok bokki has a small kick to it, ramen noodles was a surprise in the dish. So delicious! Location of the restaurant can be a bit tricky to find if Google maps makes you turn ahead of time but it's at the top floor if your parking from food lands. I had a party & someone brought this chicken. Instantly I was hooked! So I Decided to come visit & was not disappointed. They're located in aiea next to the bowling alley. Inside is nice & clean, modern looking, ac was on blast so it was cold haha. it is a little small so on a busy day u may not have a place to dine in & may have to decide on take out. Everything we ordered was really delicious! The ddeokbokki was the best I've ever had so far! & something about that secret sauce is so good. Sweet & tangy. I'm super confused about the golden fried chicken... The first time I ordered, it was spicy and they said that it's not supposed to be. Second time I ordered, it wasn't spicy at all. I just picked up another order of golden fried boneless and it's spicy. The girl said that since the spices are mixed into the batter, it should be automatically spicy, but not hot enough to not eat. For some reason the tracker told me the order was ready at 8:40. But when we went inside the order was not ready yet. We ended up getting our food at 9pm. This was the second time I ordered online and waited longer than the recommended time. However, the staff was really apologetic and told us they were short-staffed which I understand it can be hectic especially if many orders are coming in. We stopped eating fast food due to the low quality ingredients, however, not at bb.q, they fry their chicken with olive oil which makes a much better and tastier Chicken Sandwich. First time getting takeout from here! Heard from a co-worker their Secret Sauce chicken was good so we got the 18pcs Mix of Wings and chose the Secret Sauce and Honey Garlic. I personally liked the Honey Garlic on the wings over the Secret Sauce. The Secret Sauce Chicken sandwich was really really good. Was not expecting much from a chicken sandwich but I can say this was one of the best chicken sandwiches I have tried on this island. We also got The Works which is a mix of ramen, ddeok bokki, mandoo, spam and sausage. The mandoo was a good size and tasted exceptional! Overall the dish was pretty spicy, started out at a spice level 2 but as you start eating more it gets spicier and spicer and I could not eat much more. The Cheese Ball (5pcs) as well because we heard it was good. It is more sweet creamy cheesy and chewy like mochi. Ordered the mixed wings with half-half secret sauce and golden fried hot (18 pcs. ?), a 5 pc. mandoo side, single serving of rice, and a single serving of mac salad. Eh, Aiea local boy who still remembers the days of Heights Drive Inn. Order was ready within the 20 minute promise. Drove around the third level of Aiea Shopping Center twice before going down to the second level - that's a pro tip for weekend evenings. The restaurant itself looked clean, well-lit and inviting. But there were only a couple families dining in on this evening. Most folks parking on the third level are there to bowl and dine at Aiea Bowl. The counter person was polite, had all the online/call-in orders neatly bagged and lined up and offered utensils. Food: Mac salad is par for the course as far as local mac salad is concerned. Rice was an average serving with furikake - think one large scoop on a plate lunch. Good texture and went well with the meal. Mandoo was excellent! Large, perfectly fried dumplings served with sauce. I recommend. And now the star of the show, the wings! The golden fried wings were huge, perfectly battered and fried. Seasoning was spot on as well. The heat will not tear your head off but it's there as an undercurrent. Think old school KFC hot wings but better. Similarly, the secret wings were reminiscent of the plumpest, best honey BBQ KFC wings but with more garlicky ko choo jang notes. I think I like both equally.
