I had moderate to good expectations ordering from here based on other people's reviews, but I was a bit underwhelmed. The food was filling and had the intent of flavor, but the execution was lacking. The honey garlic wings did not taste very honey-garlicy, almost like they were missing half of the sauce they should have had. The chicken meat itself tasted like it was of decent quality and not dry but the amount of fried coating seemed excessive compared to the amount of meat. The sauce of the rose tteokbokki was creamy and had a back of the tongue/mouth spiciness. However, the texture of the tteok (rice cakes) was inconsistent- a few tasted very soft while others were on the undercooked side of chewy. Less than a quarter were like that but it was enough to be a bit offputting.

I have gone to several Bbq olive chicken locations around the US and even in Korea and always know what to expect. This one was pretty busy even though they didn't have a lot of inside customers. We ordered the honey garlic boneless chicken to go. The music they played was great of you are a kpop fan! The chicken was sauced and heated nicely and the radish that comes with the chicken was tangy and crunchy. Giving it 4 stars because I had two pieces of chicken out of my box that weren't very crispy.

Disappoint fried chickens, sadly. The photos look great but the chickens were bland in real life. The sauced ones were even worst, just didn't taste good at all. The chickens were freshly fried though so not sure why they could be so bad flavor-wise...

Crispy chicken, flavorful sauce, large portions! I got the signature rice bowl which comes with the fried boneless chicken scrambled eggs, onions, topped with mayo and green onions. Overall quite tasty and filling. Large portion- I couldn't finish it all so had leftovers. Also came with a side of pickled radish. The hubs and a friend got the fried chicken boneless one with secret sauce and one with honey garlic sauce. They enjoyed it and also each had leftovers. The hubs got a side of rice and friend got fries. Service was friendly. There is a bit of a wait about 15-20 minutes which they do have it written on the wall - the wait times during different times of the day. Seemed pretty busy and also saw a few take out orders going out. Interior is nice all red white and black decor. Overall good experience first time here.

I ordered takeout via the official bb.q chicken website. My go to flavors are the Gangjeong, Gangnam, and Hot Mala. The chicken comes with a free side of pickled radish. I love the chicken here because it's super crispy and packed with tons of flavor from the marinade and sauce. Parking is hard to find since it's next to Boston Commons, but there is street parking available. It's cozy inside and they play K-pop music. I generally enjoy BBQ Chicken, but this location has some improvements to make. I'm taking off two stars because I showed up for pickup at the given time, but the food wasn't ready and I had to wait an extra 15 minutes. This was really inconvenient as the area is super busy with traffic so parking was tough. Moreover, I had an unexpired $5 coupon that I got from doing a survey, but the website would not accept it. Also, beware that they charge for extra sauce. I added for two ranches and they gave me 2 tiny containers and charged $2 each. Totally not worth it if I knew they would charge that much and give so little.

The location is clean and have K-pop music playing in the background. Overall, it's welcoming and casual setting. The service was okay. I got the boneless secret sauce chicken and it was very delicious. The meat was tender yet the outside was still crispy. It tasted a little bit like sweet and sour kind of sauce. I think it is a good chicken wing place compared to say wing stop and others.

While the ambiance is overstimulating to all the senses--too bright, too K-pop loud, a mix of smells not entirely good (possibly the pickled radish imparts a faintly garbagey odor?)--there's no denying that their fried chicken is awe inspiring. I had the boneless chicken with hot red sauce. Their were about 8 roundish pieces for $13. This is some seriously addictive food stuff. Although doused in hot barbecue sauce, each bite maintained the Korean Krunch to the very end. And the cubes of pickled radish on the side were great for refreshing the palate. It was worth the somewhat berserk atmosphere.

If this is what Korean chicken is all about then sign me up for more. I tried the Original Chicken Sandwich and it was fantastic! I'll be back to try more offerings.

BB.q Chicken - A Wing Lover's Paradise on Boylston Street, Boston If you're in search of the best chicken wings in Boston, BB.q Chicken on Boylston Street should be at the top of your list. From the moment you take your first bite, you'll understand why this place is a cut above the rest. The wings here are exceptional--perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining juicy and tender on the inside. The crunch you get with every bite is simply addictive. The spice level is spot-on, delivering a kick that's bold yet balanced, never overwhelming. Each wing is coated in just the right amount of seasoning, making them utterly irresistible. What truly sets BB.q Chicken apart, though, is their secret sauce. It's a flavor explosion that elevates the wings to another level. Sweet, tangy, and with a hint of umami, the sauce is the perfect complement to the spiciness of the wings, creating a harmonious blend of flavors that keeps you coming back for more. The service was quick and the employees were very responsive. It is in a great place in Boston so coming here and enjoying the surrounding area is a plus ! Whether you're a wing connoisseur or just craving something delicious, BB.q Chicken might just be the best wing spot in Boston. Do yourself a favor and check it out--you won't be disappointed!

I was super excited when I heard BB.q Chicken was opening a location here in Downtown/Chinatown. We ordered two small ($14 each) and a side of rice. Each order came with radish. Rice was $2. Each order comes with 8pcs of wings. I'll admit, it's pretty pricey but you get good quality chicken wings. Good size and cooked perfectly. Chicken still moist inside. My favorite flavor to get is the Spicy original and Honey garlic and hot and spicy. Definitely will be trying all of it!

Soy garlic and mala wings are good. Chicken is extremely crispy. Even after I take it out of the fridge, it's still crispy. Ttetoboki (idk how to spell it) is sooo good get the rose one seriously incredible. Such a good cheat meal

Unfortunately we stopped by at the wrong place wrong time. We walked in to a quiet store and went straight up to order we were met with two thai girls who seemed to just be talking to one another. Unfortunately the service was quite bad - it was unwelcoming and cold and it seemed like we were interrupting break time. We were told they have no cups so we have to bring our own cups for Water. Then we received the food and well .... cheese sticks were just warm pieces of Curd Onion rings were all batter. The chicken was ok. The interior was tables labeled with signs for you to clean your own table but when we walked in we struggled to find a table that was actually clean. Overall, this location was not worth it.

1st night of a business trip, I couldn't decide on what to eat. There's so many options in the area and I found myself wanting something that I knew would be good after my flight. I love Korean fried chicken. It is the best version of my favorite food(fried chicken) and bbq chicken is my favorite chain for Korean fried chicken. I ordered the same thing as always, small size soy garlic wings with rose tteokbokki. First bite of chicken, immediate happiness. It's just always so good and reliable. Across multiple chains, it tastes as good every time. I have never been let down by the fried chicken from this place. Honestly every fried chicken should be a Korean fried chicken, from the frying method to the transport container, the chicken is never dry or soggy, even when I mobile order. Yes it's pretty expensive, around double the price per wing of traditional fried chicken but imo it's worth it every time. The rose tteokbokki... I have found that this dish varies quite a bit location to location. It's still good but the one from this location is definitely subpar. Some of the tteok texture were on the tougher side. And the sauce... was quite watery. Usually the the sauce is thick, and coats the tteokbokki, this one kind of just slid off like a soup. Regardless. Just off the fried chicken I don't think I could ever give bbq chicken a low rating. I've had my complaints with other franchises of this chain(service, ordering issues) but I just keep coming back. Bbq chicken will always have a place in my heart.

The box combos are where the value really shines. You get a great deal on a satisfying meal where everything works together. The chicken is always reliably good, and that signature sauce, a creamy, tangy, slightly peppery blend is what ties it all together. It's delicious for dipping not just the chicken, but also the fries and that excellent, soft Texas toast. The fries themselves hit that sweet spot of being crispy without being greasy. A word to the wise: the lines can get seriously long, as it's a hugely popular spot. The absolute best move is to order ahead through their app to skip the wait, which makes grabbing a quick and easy meal a total breeze. Overall, it's a consistently good, decently-priced meal for when a fried chicken craving strikes. Just a heads-up that all that fried goodness, while tasty, can sometimes feel a bit heavy on the stomach, but for most it's a small price to pay for that specific comfort food fix.

This was extremely confusing, as I had just been told moments earlier that the issue would be resolved. I am very disappointed with the customer service I received. Update: After posting this review, I was contacted and pressured to remove it, which further added to the discomfort and confusion surrounding this experience. I ended up passing on the partial refund to put an end to the back and forth with management.

This place is right in the Kendall Square area, an easy walk from all of the tech companies. 10 piece fried chicken - Chicken was decent sized and definitely not bulk ordered chicken. This was marinated and spiced in-house. It had good strong flavor, with a hint of ginger that stood out. I think it's ginger, at least. Enjoyable, not dry at all. I would get it again. Chicken cheese patties - they were dry and not that cheesy at all. This saddens me as the place prior to them opening served the best chicken cheese patties in the area. Chicharron - Kind of over cooked and dry. The skin is definitely crispy - almost to a fault as most were too hard to enjoyably bite into. The dryness was the worse. Plaintains were okay, tasted more like potatoes but I think thats how they are supposed to taste anyways. Service was good. Checkout was easy with tap-to-pay. Seems like most restaurants begin at the suggested 18% tip to start. Some calculate their tipping suggestions at your subtotal before adding the taxes to your bill. This restaurant included the taxes as part of its tip calculation so be aware that you're actually tipping more than 18%. FYI: as a customer, you decide how much to tip for quality service. Bringing your orders to your table is basic. How many times they filled your water cups and check up on you are important and expected. Tipping is not automatic in my humble opinion. Servers who work diligently for their tips so tip accordingly to those who provided a great dining experience.
