Yummy! So glad there's a korean chicken spot in my neighborhood! We got seated very quickly and were told you could either order at the counter or the bar. The food came out very warm and fresh! The chicken was crispy and were big pieces. The fried mushroom was okay- good sauce but I wish there was more of it to add flavor. Overall this was a good spot for a dinner with friends, and a decent amount of space. I'm glad they're open late! I had high expectations while waiting for this place to open and they surpassed them all! The place is set up almost like a food hall. You can order your food and take your buzzer with you to go find a table and get your own water and condiments etc. Or you can sit at the bar and order through the bartender. The people working were so nice and they chatted with regulars while also being friendly to new faces (like myself!) The restaurant itself was very clean and we could see inside the kitchen and it looked very organized and clean as well. We got the mini mandus and the half spicy and half soy garlic wings. The mandus were so crispy without being oily and so delicious. The spicy wings weren't spicy for me but I still enjoyed them. The breading on these soaked up the sauce so well and were done really well so it doesn't slide off immediately with a bite. Finally a Korean Fried chicken place in Somerville! I like that it is local and family business, as well. The structure of the business is bit weird - it has counter place for both k-bok and something called 'suki's cafe'? They also display some merchandise there which is bit confusing. Also, there was no staff guiding people to sit or order in front, which was awkward. We ended up ordering takeout. We got small 6pc boneless tender with soy garlic sauce, small fried oysters mushroom with yangnyeom sauce, and spiced picked yellow radish. I was bit disappointed with my chicken; it was pretty salty and not that crispy. My wife's mushrrom was good but it was lacking sauce a bit. I'm glad there is more kfc option in the area but I doubt I will visit again. read more

My husband was walking past one day after work and saw the kbox sign up on the doors and the lights on. He said he exclaimed "is kbox now open?!" And one of the owners or someone close to the owner was outside at the time and overheard him and said there was a friends and family soft launch happening and he invited him to go inside to check it out. (Thank you! lol) He was able to get a plate that we were able to sample each thing. Everything was delicious- bone in and boneless wings, fried rice, fried dumplings, kimchi and chinese broccoli. I think some of these items will be on their menu at a later date but for now the fried chicken wings are. Fast forward to today we were feeling for wings and we went to the website to see if they were open yet and to our luck they were as it was the official opening day. We got takeout - 10 piece bone-in spicy yangnyeom with fries and it came with pickled radish on the side. We got to say hi and congrats to the owner that we usually talk to at Reliable Market. Wait time was about 30-40min which we were okay with since we weren't starving. We live nearby so we went back home to wait. Everything was fresh. The wings are between large to super huge. I was only able to manage 4 while my husband had the other 6. They were really good wings. The only thing is the large fries seemed more like a small fries. Inside has a pick up area for food, pastries and coffee... and then another section that is like a sports bar set up for dine-in. Great addition to union square! read more

Delicious! You order at the front and find a seat afterwards. Our 20 piece chicken party wings took about 30 mins to prepare. We ordered 20 pieces half-half of soy garlic and original crispy. Both were great. The soy garlic pieces were on the sweeter side and the original crispy were juicy and fresh. The flavors are more similar to Japanese fried chicken (karaage) than traditional Korean fried chicken in our option, but still yummy. There's a lot of indoor seating, and a sufficient parking lot outside. Would come again to try the Spicy Yangnyeom wings and sandwiches. read more

This is my second trip to KBOK and can't believe it was better than the first! Had some amazing chicken tenders omg crispy!!! 3 flavors we chose to try them all and they would fit anyone's taste pallet. The French fries are amazingly crispy and something new was dumplings with vegetables inside fried! The staff super friendly and want to make your experience perfect! TVs and bar to watch game. Stopped by 3 days since grand opening. Restaurant itself is fairly big with a clean dining area and bar in the back. Wings were definitely the highlight and would get those on another visit. I wouldn't say it hit my spice craving (I like my food really spicy) but the flavor was solid, especially the soy garlic bliss. Wings were crispy and not too heavy. Regret. So much regret. There was nothing redeeming here, really. It had the ambience of a Dave and Busters. It was bright and loud with lots of screens playing sports and news. Kids running around screaming. An assault on all senses. I wish I had walked out. Or not eaten what I ordered when it arrived and was disappointing from the first bite. The service wasn't good either. Went to pick up my food and was told my broccoli wasn't ready and they would bring it out. Ten minutes later I went to check on it. The folks behind the counter were chatting/ on their phones. They went to the back to retreive a plate of sad, soggy, flavorless greens. I asked for a box, not wanting to waste food and thinking I could repurpose. Was give a cardboard box that didn't close and it quickly soaked through. I was asked if anything was wrong- I said I would take it home and add seasoning. "it wasn't seasoned enough?" "it wasn't seasoned at all" I replied. No response. So much regret.
