Overview: MY CRAVINGS ARE SATISFIED, flavorful and crunchy and all around deliciousness ---- I've been craving Korean fried chicken for ages and last night was perfection. We ordered 3 different flavors (cheesling, honey garlic, Gangnam) of 8ct for each and a rose ttoekbokki. We ordered for pick-up and when we got home the texture of the breading was still so crunchy and everything was still hot. My favorites were the honey garlic, followed but the cheesling, then the Gangnam. They were all delicious but the honey garlic was a great sweet and savory option and overall the most well-rounded out of the options. The cheesling was a bit more mild and not as juicy because it a cheese powder and not a sauce like the other two but still flavorful. The Gangnam was also juicy but I found the black pepper to be a bit too much for me and overpowered the other flavors of that sauce. The rose ttoekbokki is always my go-to, a sweet and savory option, creamy, perfectly chewy, and the perfect amount of spiciness. It also comes with some Napa cabbage and fish cakes so there's some variety in its textures. ---- Pricing: - $16.99 rose ttoekbokki (add cheese is $2.30, but we had cheese at home and it was perfect) - $16.99 for 8 pieces - $31.99 for 16 pieces - $45.99 for 24 pieces ---- Notes: - parking is TOUGH - it's located in convoy so recommend ordering for pick-up and then eating it somewhere else otherwise you're going to be circling the block for a while - you can also double park in the front of the restaurant and pick it up - service was quick and friendly - I've dined in before and the ambiance isn't anything fancy but it's comfortable ---- Overall: my go-to place for Korean fried chicken, a wide range of flavors and side dishes, parking is brutal (as always in convoy) so I recommend ordering for pick-up or delivery

The powder is cheesy and slightly sweet, sounds like it shouldn't work but it does, a must get in my opinion -honey garlic wings, savory and sticky, but the wings are still crispy underneath the coating, always a safe pick! -rosé ddeokbokki, you'll definitely get a cheese pull and the portion is definitely share friendly -so ddeok so ddeok, skewer with chewy rice cake and snappy smokies, it's so addicting -kimchi fried rice, great portion size and delicious, held up great as leftover the next day Ambiance 4/5 -space is open and roomy with clean bathrooms, chill spot for lunch and dinner

Reminded me of The spot I ate at in Seoul! So flavorful! So delicious with a touch of spicyness! And the the chicken was so tender and crunchy at the same time! I couldnt get enough of the chicken. I ordered the original golden and it was definitely my favorite! I will definitely be back and would highly recommend to those looking for amazing korean fried chicken!

It was my first time dining at any bb.q Chicken location, and the experience was great if you're looking to sit down! We were handed physical menus as the QR codes weren't working. It was nice to eat somewhere for once that still had physical menus! We ordered family combo #1, which I suggest is a decent portion of food for around 3-4 people. You get 16 pcs of wings and we were able to choose 2 flavors. 2 steamed rice, coleslaw, and pickled white radish were provided. For our sides, I liked their corn salad! We were able to substitute the coleslaw for it. My go to flavor is the Honey Garlic! I tried their Galbi flavor for the 2nd choice and it was a good amount of sweet and savory, and did taste like Galbi marinade! I've had bb.q Chicken in previous takeout orders, and it's always consistent in flavors and crunchiness of the chicken! If I could dine here again I would, knowing that the space always has room and doesn't seem too busy since Convoy has a vast majority of Asian restaurants. There's a lot of bb.q locations but in terms of dining I like this location the best!

I recently moved to San Diego and was pleasantly surprised that they have one here! My go to is the mala wings but I have tried the other flavors and they do not disappoint. The texture and flavor have been consistent since day 1. You can expect your wings to be perfectly crispy. The mala is a little spicy. If you'd like to stay on the mild side the soy garlic does not disappoint either. My bf said his favorite is the honey garlic because it has a bit of sweetness to it. The radishes complement the wings perfectly (which is why I was disappointed that they forgot it in my take out order but I should have double checked) I've been to this specific location maybe 2 times. Service is always good and quick. They do a really good job at keeping the place clean too.

Love coming here, it's flavors are all really delicious especially the cheesling and the soy garlic. I highly recommend doing it family style, it can feel a little pricey for basically 8 chicken tenders. The service is always good. My biggest con is I feel the chicken has gotten a little smaller over time and I wish they had a 12 Pc option.

My best friend and I were having a BFF date and before we ended our day she took me to her favorite spot bb.q Chicken. I had never been but it's in the same plaza as my favorite Korean BBQ spot so I was really excited to check it out. We were greeted right away and sat a roomy table, from the outside you wouldn't think this place was so big but it was really spacious. They had seating for patrons ordering take out which was nice. They have an app you can be members on too. After checking out the menu Cheryl ordered her usual which is the rose ddeok-bokki and honey garlic wings, I opted for the rice bowl after the server came by and gave us her favorite order, I chose Chicken Mayor Rice bowl with the jerk sauce. Okay, I did not know what to expect because this was absolutely delicious, the kewpie mayo is by far the superior mayo and that chicken is perfectly crisp and had great flavor from the jerk sauce and the scrambled eggs, oooomph absolute perfection! I did try Cheryls favorite and equally delicious, the crunch on the wings that tenderness of the ddeok-bokki and the sauce so good. I have a bb.q chicken a mile from my house and ended up ordering there and the National City location and now I am salivating just thinking about it. read more

i never learn my lesson. I always order too much and then have big backtivities for days haha! Had a to go order for a medium wings golden original, medium wings soy glaze, and small wings cheesling. Yes. 40 wings for 2 people lol wings for days haha The wings were a good size. Not too big and not too small. They had a good crunch even after 40 minutes of driving back to the house. All the flavors were good. The original had a small kick to it but im a wimp when it comes to spicy food so most people would probably not notice it. Soy glaze was good too. My favorite was the cheeseling. It reminds me of the cheese potato fries from mr. Potato corner in the Philippines. So if you are familiar with that flavor, that is what the cheeseling tastes like :) also, didn't realize this was the KFC chain that was on the kdrama crash landing on you that came out years ago. It is located in small plaza, parking may be busy during peak hours of eating time. definitely a KFC spot we will keep on rotation. read more

The food and service here are always phenomenal! Brought a friend that just moved to the area and he love it, too. I always get the cheesling wings and he decided to get the Gangnam ones. Both were super good. The only complaint I have is how hot it was in there. It's been hot in SD lately and it felt like an oven in there. They only had the front door open which didn't do much. If you're coming, come later in the evening when the sun has set. read more

Went there multiple times and all times services was different. Probably it's because the time that i went during the daytime. It's very slow but during the nighttime it's very busy as which services gets a little behind which is understandable. Please place a lot of K-pop music, but from time to time there is also pop and R&B songs I would occur. Definitely would recommend these soy garlic is very flavorful and totally worth trying. I love coming to convoy area and trying new places to eat. My cousin was visiting and we both have been wanting to try this place out. It was absolutely amazing, delicious and tasty!! When you walk into the restaurant there is plenty of seating. You can order at the register and take the food to go or you can dine in and they take your order. They have really good family combo deals and it's plenty of food to share. I have never tried and have been really wanting to try the rice cake dish and I added cheese on top and they were so good! So very pleased and happy that I got that dish. The chicken wings were tasty, fresh and crunchy. I couldn't stop eating them. They just had so much flavor! Came here on a 7pm on. Thursday night and was shocked to see that the place was completely empty. This location is inside one of the busiest plazas and unfortunately one of the hardest lots to find parking but because of how amazing this place is, it's worth it every time. My husband and I ordered the family combo which gave us the option of boneless or wings and two choices of sauces. We went with soy garlic and spicy original which also came with two sides of rice, radish, and coleslaw. I highly recommend asking for gloves since soy garlic gets a little messy but even with the sauce, the wings are cooked to absolute perfection. The wings are sauced with so much love and each bite has the most beautiful crunch. Even though this place is a chain, the restaurant treats all of their food as if it were a mom and pop shop. Korean fried chicken has my heart. I remember when it was fairly rare to find it in San Diego, and now there are so many options! I will say that BB.Q Chicken (Convoy) is one of the better locations for this craving. I love that there are several flavors to choose from! Their golden original flavor is a classic. My boyfriend described it as a "more flavorful Jollibee, and Jollibee is fire." I was a tad offended considering I am Filipino, but I completely understand the sentiment. I wish the original flavor came with bone-in, but you can only order it as a whole chicken or boneless. I've also had their soy garlic, which is my favorite, and their gangnam, which was also flavorful! Their menu also has ddeok-bokki, which I want to try next time! And finally, I loved the cheese fries. If you're not a fan of a sweet artificial cheese flavor, then they are not for you. My boyfriend disliked them, but I loved them. A major downside is the fact that you have to pay for your sauces. I would rather not pay like $2 for ranch, but I guess. Our waitress who took our order stopped helping us after she took our order and never checked in on us. It was a bit frustrating because I wanted to order additional items, but ended up not doing so. The restroom was also clean too. Friendly staff, great service & chill vibes. When dining in, they will seat you. Just scan the QR code found on the table to view the Menu. Server will come to you for your orders & bring out your food & drinks. You can also Order at the counter for take out. I've dined in & did a pick up order without any issues. Was debating on whether to try this place for the first time, or go to Pelicana Chicken, which I really like. We decided to try some place new and came here. Ordered the Family Combo 1: with 16 pcs of wings, honey garlic flavor and spicy original flavor (per our server's recommendation). The combo also came with the 2 bowls of rice, 2 pickled radish, and 1 coleslaw. It was a pretty good option costing $31.99, since the 16 pcs alone would've already costed $29.99. We enjoyed the honey garlic flavor. The spicy original flavor was so bland and plain, would not recommend! We asked for some kind of dipping sauce to eat with the spicy original due to its lack of flavor. We got their "secret sauce" and was charged $2.25. The secret sauce was whatever, it was cold and sorta like a crossover between sweet & sour sauce and light bbq sauce, with thick consistency. Their wings are smaller than Pelicana's. I think the little heat of this pairs well with the honey garlic chicken Spicy Chicken Sandwich- pretty spicy, I liked how crisp the crispy chicken is There is plentiful of seating with TVs playing music.
