The gganpungi was easily my favorite of the two. The chicken was crispy even with all the sauce, and it had that great sweet, savory, garlicky flavor with a little heat from the dried chilies. It came loaded with shrimp, imitation crab, egg, SEA CUCUMBER?!!, cucumber, carrots, and other vegetables surrounding the stir-fried meat and veggies in the center. There was a ton of variety in every bite, and it's definitely a dish meant for sharing. Between these two dishes alone, we had way more food than two people could finish. The 5 banchan servings included kimchi, pickled daikon, other pickled radishes, spicy marinated squid and pickled zucchini. All were fresh and delicious. I ordered a lunchbox with a heaping serving of very righteous bulgogi, along with a generous scoop of rice, thin sliced napa cabbage with a sweet creamy dressing, several fried vegetable dumplings, and some additional pickled daikon slices. For $15, it is a LOT of food! They serve a large carafe of cold water at every table, and the server brought gojuchang when I requested it. Most, but certainly not all of the other patrons were speaking Korean, which definitely enhanced the atmosphere (although the restaurant's interior is quite comfortable). I will need to return to try out the menu, but my first visit was a very good experience, and I urge others to sample their food, which is very much like the delicious foods I have had in Seoul.
