Word has never really spread much about BB tea serving the much sought after creme brulee crepe in these past years, but the crepe is most definitely here and fills the craving well. BB tea's creme brulee crepe consists of a seared, thick layer of creme brulee custard on top, filled with the sliced strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and cream within. I love the juxtaposed bite between the crunch of the seared top into the soft warm brulee, and the chilled ice cream and cut strawberries. The crepe wrapping everything together is on the softer side. While BB tea is mainly a boba shop, I find this and their other dessert offerings (e.g. souffle pancake) as the main attraction. Their brown sugar milk drinks are also popular and gets you your boba fix, but I personally didn't find them particularly special. read more

I never thought I'd want to try chestnut in my coffee, but hooray, I did! No, that's not spaghetti on top. It's a creamy chestnut paste and there's an actual chestnut on top of it. It had me at Ube! Just finished lunch at Mama Mu's and was walking towards my car and saw "Ube Cake". I've been here before but this was the first time I noticed the poster. Not sure if it's always been there but definitely, full or not, I had to try it. So I did Ube Cake - cheese cake base with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and topped with Ube noodles? Disclaimer: this is a review about my experience at the Sunset Night Market on 8/30/24. I was excited to try the Mont Blanc that has been so heavily advertised so I ordered the chestnut crepe at around 7:45pm, 30-40 min later I hear and see people that ordered way over me get a chestnut crepe even though that is all I ordered. It was apparent that people who ordered crepes were waiting a long time for their orders compared to everyone else, but when they started serving people who had numbers way after us I got concerned they forgot our order. I was number 40 and I was standing next to someone with number 56 who got her chestnut crepe before me. I was absolutely livid because they had told my husband that mine was coming right up 20 min before. I get that it was a night market and they had unique items compared to the other vendors but it was very apparent that there was absolutely no form of organization in their assembly line. The customer service was so blatantly rude and ignorant. I have no plans to ever visit this stall or store ever again. The chestnut crepe (Mont Blanc) was just whatever, especially after waiting almost an hour for it. You are much better off supporting actually Japanese establishments who actually value your time and know how to run a business. read more

I've seen these types of crepe all over my FYPs and finally found somewhere that made them without an enormous line. My family and I got the Chestnut Crepe as well as the Crème Brûlée Crepe. While I wasn't able to get a taste of the Chestnut Crepe as it somehow "vanished" almost instantly, I was able to understand the hype through my Crème Brûlée Crepe. After getting through the torched sugar layer on top, I was pleasantly surprised by the crème + ice cream mixture they had underneath. The contrast between the freshly made crepe and the cold ice cream was like euphoria. My only wish was that the crepe was a little sweeter because after I finished the filling, the crepe was sorta bland (might just be the way I'm eating it so I won't hold it against them). The crepes did take a little longer than expected (~10-15 minutes with only one other person ahead of us). At a decent price of $9, I would say that it is worth it if you haven't tried it yet. BBTea is a gem. I always alternate between lavender milk tea and matcha milk tea. They have a list of their top 10 drinks and both lavender milk tea and matcha milk tea is on it. It took around 5 mins to get my drink but they do have tiny tables and chairs for you to sit, chat, and wait. Whenever I'm in Noriega, I always go to BBTea and the pho place next door. Fluffy and sweet with a nice creaminess to it, the dish in the small size was good for four to get a couple bites to satisfy a sweet tooth. Worth trying these pancakes! BB Tea is located on a semi-busy street. Parking may be hit or miss - when I came here, I was lucky and found parking right out front. The 2 drinks took awhile to come out, so I was watching them make crepes that customers had ordered - 2 things I noticed were: they do not put that much filling/toppings in them and they do not wear gloves while touching the food. I tried their green tea salted cheese with boba and jasmine milk tea with boba. Both of the drinks were not the best, but the milk tea tasted a tad better than the cheese tea. I love the drinks here. Though as I was waiting for my drink to be made, I could not help but notice that one of the workers was drinking her own beverage behind the counter. What's wrong with this? 1) She had gloves on. The gloves would touch the tip of the straw, which had made contact with her mouth. 2) With the same pair of gloves, she would touch ingredients that go into customers' drinks. 3) With the same pair of gloves, she would then hand out your drink and straw when your order is ready to serve. (Mouth + straw + gloves + ingredients + customer = cross contamination). Solution: Be aware of what you're touching, and don't have a false sense of protection just because you have gloves on. Your hands underneath may be protected, but the outside of the gloves may be quite dirty. read more

Love the taste of the torched sugar on top, if they can somehow incorporate it throughout the whole crepe that would take it to the next level! Souffle pancakes, the new trend that is taking the Bay Area by storm. Since this place is 5 minutes from my house and I had a huge craving for dessert, I decided to check this place out. I called in my order and they said it would take about 15 minutes. I arrived and saw that they had one huge sign out front that lists their drinks and their souffle pancakes. They also had laminated reusable menu order forms that you fills out with a dry erase marker. Another plus is that they also have a self checkout station where you can place your order and limit contact with the workers. I will have to try this out next time. 15 minutes passed and I went to pick up my order. Only one person working so it took a little bit of time before he noticed me. That was fine. I waited patiently while gazing at their baked goods that were on display. They had cookies and various slices of cakes. I definitely try these next time as well since they are very reasonably priced. Got my order and was on my merry way home. On the 3 minute drive home, I could definitely smell the egg whites. I could not wait to dig in! The box had two very thick slices of souffle pancakes, fresh fruit, and red bean/whipped cream mixture. I had a bite of the souffle pancake and thought it was made very well. Although it smelled like egg whites in the car, the flavor was not very strong in the pancake itself. The matcha sauce they used was not very bitter and you can definitely taste the matcha. The fresh fruit was very sweet. Combined with the red bean that was cooked to be soft, it was a nice touch to add to the souffle. Overall, this place was very good. For 13 dollars and some change, I got souffle pancakes that were bigger and thicker than the ones offered at The Gram. It was very similar in price to The Gram as well. But I think this place has The Gram beat because of the fresh fruit they offered as well as the red bean and whipped cream. read more

I've been craving it ever since but I haven't found a place here in the bay area that is similar. My friend came across BB Tea Station and it looked pretty promising so we decided to give it a try! Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't so crowded. **Tip: They only make the souffle pancakes during certain hours of the day. I forgot to take a note of it so I'd call ahead to ask before you make your trip over there! It also takes about 15 minutes to make the pancakes so definitely be patient and expect a wait. I was definitely in awe at the presentation of the souffle pancakes. It was so cute and aesthetically pleasing! The pancakes itself were verryyyyy jiggly and soft, it was very fun to play with haha. I tried the pancake itself without the cream and it was cooked perfectly in my opinion. The Strawberry cream was very light and not too overly sweet which I loved. The Matcha cream however was a tad bit sweet. I wish the Matcha cream had more of a deeper Matcha taste than a sugar taste to it.
