Most of the waiters and waitresses are Korean speaking only, so it was difficult to understand them and how to order since it was my first time their. Came for the first time recently. I don't really write reviews like that so that's how you know this was bad. The server we had made it very clear we weren't really welcome. Within 5 minutes of sitting down we were approached 6+ times about what to order. Didn't wait long but when the food came it was tiny portions, certainly not worth 30$ per person. The worst part was the table beside us that seated a Korean pair got larger portions than we did while also ordering more. But wait, there's more: the older shorter woman kept coming over and starting our food for us before we were ready so I had to cook while trying to eat, when cooking the chicken she kept insisting it was done but the meat was still 100% raw. All this bad experience in a matter of 45 minutes when we're promised at most 2 hours to eat, it wasn't even busy, so there was no reason to rush. Every time we come here it gets better somehow. The staff is warm and welcoming. The food selections grow/change often. We love being able to pick out our own vegetables and side dishes and fresh fruit, the range of options snd variety is refreshing. The meats/seafood are always fresh and nice choice cuts. I always have a love/hate relationship with all Korean BBQ restaurants. Love the flavors and food, hate the smoke and had to take a shower right after getting home. On Mother's Day we were able to get in. The service staff was awesome, and the food was average. We ordered the Deluxe Option buffet. The marinated short ribs were really nice, the pork belly was lacking favor. We also had the squid that was a bit too chewy, smaller squid might be more tender. My family and I have been frequenting this Korean BBQ location for close to 2 years now. We have tried several other Korean BBQ around Chicago and suburbs and my fiance and I agree that this restaurant has the best quality meats as well as services. We've dined here twice post covid and both times we were helped by Kevin, the owner's son. He saw that we had troubles communicating what we wanted with the staff (can't speak Korean) and immediately took over to help us from the start to end. Our last visit was a week ago and the staff here went above and beyond. The kitchen was closed but our kids were craving for more of their delicious melons that they served for dessert. Kevin and the staff happily cut up more fresh melons for our kids! Twice! Without any hesitations! I first heard about this place from my hairdresser and decided to check it out for dinner one night. To be frank, I did not go in with high expectations. Korean restaurants are quite notorious for having bad service and many bbq places don't serve quality meats. But, the first experience was great and after trying the place a second time, I've decided to write my first Yelp review! Let me start off by saying that the service here was 4.5 stars. They have gave us gyeran jjim (steamed egg) for free which was a nice surprise, frequently came back to check/cut the meat (not many Korean bbq places will do this anymore). The only reason why it's not 5 stars is that I wish they were more proactive about filling our water cups and asking if we needed banchan (side dishes) refills. Now let's talk about the food. Food was probably 3.5 - 4 stars. This is only because I'm Korean and have pretty high expectations. We ordered 2 servings of samgyupsal (pork belly). The first serving was 3.5, the second 4. The meat was bit on the fattier side the first time around but still good! The banchans were standard, nothing too spectacular, although there kimchi was quite good. One thing that stood out to me though was their side of dwengjang jjiggae (soybean paste soup). It's savory, deep, and has nice kick - one of the best side orders of dwengjang jjiggae I've tried! The vegetables were a bit mushy but the flavor of the broth was so delicious. Dwengjang jjiggae is common side soup for k-bbq orders but most of the times it's a bit bland with not a ton of flavor. The second time I went, I noticed they introduced ayce (all you can eat) as a lunch/dinner option. Their standard/dinner price is $24.99/person and they have a pretty large selection of meats to choose from. Prices were a bit cheaper for lunch (but I can't remember the exact amount). AYCE KBBQ. Free parking in the plaza. They do take reservation and the place is hugeeee. There's a "party room" on one side and the other side for day to day dining. I forget the prices, but came on a weekend night. I THINK it was $29.99 for standard and $39.99 for deluxe. Kids below 4 is free. 4-6 is $14 or $15 and then it's $18 for older kids. We did the standard as the deluxe includes short ribs and beef tongue, but we eat short rib enough to be ok without it. We loved the brisket, which is what we usually get when going out for Korean bbq as well and Kalbi (short rib). There's a buffet with center of the dining area with soup, rice, banchan, sushi, kimchi. My kids loved the cheese corn, got 5 orders of this lol. We only really ate the brisket and pork belly. The chicken was over marinated as it was dark meat but crumbly after cooked so not very good. We also got the squid and shrimp to try, we didn't like it too much. Service was ok, place was busy, was told to wait a few times we stopped a waitress for next order or more water or napkins. I absolutely loved the food here - exact opposite of how I felt about their service though. You get to choose which "package" of EAYC you want based on the different kinds of meats under each package. We went with the regular one cause that alone was absolutely delicious! One weird thing here is they don't offer lettuce, they offer you some kind of salad to go with your meal and your choice of sides. The service was pretty bad though, especially if you've never been here. Asked for rice and they weren't friendly enough to point us to where it was - in a cooler with no sign! They also don't automatically replace the grill plate thing. A lot of the stuff you have to go out of your way to actually get it done for yourself and figure it out. I'd say check this place if you like the experience of cooking your meat while you eat but I do warn you about the service. Also, don't over order meat or you'll end up paying for it! read more

Came here only because Mr. Kimchi was closed on Tuesdays and Iron Age had too long of a wait. Not sure what the hold up was on a weekday but waiting to get a table took about 20 mins here. Good was good but also took a while for them to take your order and deliver your food. Not that much variety though. Although I do love that you get to get your own sides at the "buffet" area. I just found a few things to be on the sweet side. Dad had the bibim-nengmyun (cold, spicy mixed buckwheat noodles). I tasted it n it was good but again a bit on the sweet side for me. Mom n hubby each had grilled mackerel. They said it was really good n I gave some to my 1.5 yr old niece and she LOVED it!! My sis had the soondubu (soft tofu soup). I tasted the broth and it was good, but again a bit too sweet for me. And it is a bbq place so you have to order galbi (short ribs) right? They cooked it in the back cuz they don't fire up the grill for 1 serving. N we also got an order of bulgogi too. Both looked good. Meaty not fatty. N they all said it tasted good too. There's so many korean bbq options in the Skokie/Glenview area. I had planned to have lunch at Woori Village because that's all I could think of off the top of my head. But I saw that this restaurant opened recently, so I thought why not? Among the 4 of us, we ordered the second largest combo (good assortment), oxtail soup (meant to be seasoned to your liking), cold buckwheat noodles and seafood pancake (okay). This was more than enough food. What I really appreciated was that they cooked the food for us. I'm more than happy to cook it myself but the lady came back almost every time I touched the tongs! Plus the food was good! When you arrive, I thought it was a bbq buffet where you pick your meat and bring it to the table to cook because of its layout. Yummy Galbi! This place is fairly new and the restaurant itself was modern. They do have a small fountain as you walk in and the place is pretty big. It was not busy when we were there for Saturday dinner. We've got marinated Galbi and some cold noodles (spicy and not spicy) I was over all happy with food and the service. There is a service button if you do need your servers' attention. Which is very convenient. If you get he bbq, you do get a free bowl of rice and soup. Soup is spicy bean soup, with tofu, onions, and zucchini. The air ventilation was good for bbq place but it's new so who knows if it will work well as the place gets old. Price itself was not bad, but yes, it will be expensive than your usual steak that you will get at the American steak house. However, bbq comes with several side dishes, soup, rice, and lettuce. The food has been perfect everytime thus far and the pricing is fair. Service wise, each time Jennifer has been our waitress and she's phenomenal. I heard a lot of great things about this place so I was looking forward to eating here. I went on a Monday night with some coworkers at around 8 pm. It was a pretty slow night. We ordered the beef combo set, one order of bulgogi and one mool naengmyun. The beef combo set comes with haemool pajun as an appetizer and jumooluk Galbi, saeng galbi, ribeye steak, and chadol. Pajun- Just okay. Kinda bland. Ribeye steak- Dry and chewy which I don't expect much anyway for a ribeye from a korean bbq place. Chadol- good and fatty. Joomooluk- it was just ok, not that flavorful Saeng galbi- my favorite. Very marbled and juicy. Bulgogi- good and very tender. You cook it on the grill but they also add a broth to it on the side which I've never seen before. The beef combo set says that it is supposed to serve 3-4 people but I feel like it should've been more for 2-3. For $99.99 I don't think it's worth it. By ordering the beef combo, you only save about $10 versus ordering each of those meats individually, so you are basically just getting the appetizer for free. Oh and please save yourself $10 and do NOT get the mool naengmyun. It was just horrible. I felt like I was just eating noodles in water. Even when I put in the mustard and vinegar it just didn't taste good. The service was great and the server we had was very nice and friendly. He explained everything to my non korean coworkers. Reviews are a funny thing - one mans one star is another mans 5 star. And so I start with - I yelped BBQ when the Niles area and BBQ Garden caught my eye. Upon arrival I wasn't impressed - a large strip mall. Then, when we walked inside - it was a new world - beautiful! I mean really cool - nothing like I expected. Kevin was are server and grill master. He was excellent in all regards. He explained what all of our treats and meats were as well as interesting tidbits about Korea and Korean food. As the the food - it was delicious. The meats were marinated to perfection and, frankly, the presentation was beautiful. Was the restaurant expensive or inexpensive? I would say 6 or 7 out of 10. But, as in most things, you get what you pay for in terms of quality. Ate here earlier this evening with a co worker on our first of 2 nights in the area. Overall sentiment was that the whole experience was just so so, quite different from the average review. We were recommended to the seafood pancake, whcih5I know they are known for, but neither of us tried more than a few bites. I am okay chalking it up to an acquired taste so I don't dock them on that not being a good dish for us. We asked for waters at the beginning and were never brought any and did not decide to ask for them again. I don't drink tea, so I just didn't drink anything with dinner. We each ordered a meat and shared both orders. The marinated ribs were excellent and did not need any dipping sauce. The other meat was the pork belly, which was dry and and didn't have much, if any flavor. This was the #2 meat our waitress recommended. We really wished we would have made 2 orders of the same marinated ribs. Oh well. Instead of a soup, I asked for another bowl of rice instead. She still charged me for a bowl of rice, which costs them close to nothing, and I saved them a bowl of soup, which my co worker said was only play. The decor is very wonky. Environment - a little dark and gloomy tbh. Not alot going on. Unless i'm just used to the kbbq places in houston and california, the atmosphere may seem old school and a lot different. Service - it was pretty good. The ladies were very helpful and helped us cook our meats and all that. They always checked on us as well. They were quick as well to give us more meat. I've been to BBQ Garden a lot of times, but tonight was the last. The waitress misheard our order and brought out the wrong food. Usually, this is a quick fix, especially at a BBQ restaurant where you get raw meat to cook at the table. However, when we explained that it was the wrong order, the waitress gave us attitude and even argued that it was our fault, raising her voice and coming close to my mom's face. To add to that, every time she visited the table to either serve food or change the grill, she kept sighing and rolling her eyes. Once, when she was changing the grill, we were trying to clear the old grill of the meats, when she lifted it up anyways without warning (which could've burned us). She had an attitude throughout our entire meal, and we often had to order two or three times before getting our food. When we went up to the register to pay, a different waitress was there to take our card. Since the service was too terrible to not complain, we asked for the manager. This waitress told us that she was the manager's mother and to tell her our complaints instead (we never asked for his mother, just him.. come on). After explaining what had happened, the waitress behind the counter laughed at us and did not say a word but shove the receipt for us to sign back at our faces. The receipt had gratuity already added since we had 4 people at the table. She didn't even look at us while we were trying to explain, didn't apologize, just said sign the bottom. So I've decided to check it out since they have decided to change it to AYCE menu which was fairly priced. HOWEVER, the service is still very bad and very unorganized. This is the best korean bbq in Chicago! This is family owned restaurant with excellent customer service and quality meats. They have the most amounts of meat options to choose from compared to other KBBQ restaurants in the area if you're choosing their all-you-can-eat option. If you want the best quality of meat though, just go with their ale carte option. But, whatever you choose, you won't be disappointed. They have plenty of korean liquor so pair that up with the meat and your night will be good. They have plenty of parking and their interior is wide open and very scenic. read more

Amazing place! Very unassuming from the outside in a strip mall, which does not make a great first impression, but I had a fantastic experience here. A mom and pop owned place, the quality of their meat was superb. I really enjoyed all of the meats (we went with the deluxe $29.99 AYCE option) including beef brisket, marinated sirloin, marinated beef short ribs, inside skirts, octopus, steamed egg, and corn with cheese. The beef brisket, marinated sirloin and beef short ribs were by far my favorite and they were so wonderfully tasty. We found ourselves cooking some of the meat ourselves, but we were completely fine with that. Our grill plate was changed out very frequently. There is a buffet area in which you can frequent with sides and fruit and the chapchae and dumplings there were delicious! Bonus perk: there is a smoke suction above every table, which prevents the smell from coming home with you. I hope to come back soon! read more
