I recently remodeled by bathroom and was on the hunt for both shower tile and shower floor tile. I visited every tile showroom in San Diego (multiple times) and ordered countless samples from online vendors (Fireclay, Clay Imports, Zia, etc..). All of this to say that I was knee deep in tile. BDG Design Group far surpassed any store in San Diego in both selection and customer service / design help. I ultimately went forward with a beautiful Japanese kit kat tile for my shower floor that I purchased through BDG. Chris DeGuido and Chelle both helped me on different occasions. Both were patient and both guided me and let me wander through their stock. BDG will have the stock that all the other large tile stores have in San Diego, and more. It's the more that sets them apart - the most beautiful and unique tile in San Diego! So happy we have this resource. I'll be returning for the next bathroom. Thank you! read more

Amazing, inspiring selection of unique tiles and very helpful people. To select tiles for a bathroom remodel in my home, I started with Floor and Décor and Arizona Tiles but was so uninspired and discouraged. Then a friend told me about BDG. When I walked in and met Larry, he quickly understood my design aesthetic and pulled the most beautiful, interesting tiles. After living with some samples in my home for a week, I set up a (free) consultation with Larry. He was very generous with his time and helped me design the tiling for my shower, niche, sink backsplash and floor. Now that the renovation has been completed, I am so thrilled with the results! Everyone, including the tilers, framer, and contractor, raved about the quality and look of the tiles from BDG. I was recommended to come to BDG tile by a designer friend. I am picky and have visited about 5 times stores and couldn't find what I wanted. When I first walked in I thought to myself "WOW" by the selection and second thought was I probably couldn't afford it. Well I was wrong, it was half the price of what I expected. 10 STARS if Yelp allowed it!!! We are building a 6 K home in NV and starting the design process without benefit of an interior design person or decorator. We thought we would try to "go it alone first. My husband found BDG online and thus it was our first stop due to the comprehensive nature of selections. Owner Larry patiently walked us through each floor and countertop selection after carefully listening to our wishes and needs. It was like working with our own designer! I just want to shout from the rooftops how much I love BDG! When I first walked into their gorgeous showroom several months ago looking for tile for my daughters' bathroom, I immediately thought 1) I've died and gone to tile heaven and 2) everything was destined to be out of my budget. Thankfully, I was very wrong on #2. BDG's tiles run the gamut on price. Moreover, if you see something you love that is out of your budget, the owners and staff - particularly, Larry, Chelle and Susan - are great at pulling together a similar look with a more affordable option. Since I had already visited a few tile showrooms before heading to BDG, I was familiar with prices and found BDG to be very competitive. I'd also like to address some prior comments that staff is not very attentive. I've observed that the staff are always extremely attentive to the clients they are working with in the showroom but might not necessarily jump up to greet someone new walking in. I personally appreciate this since they are giving their undivided attention to the client with which they are currently working. For this reason, I'd just recommend making an appointment. Lastly, I've found staff at a lot of other tile stores to be really sales-focused, while BDG seems to be design-focused. So, while you might not be immediately greeted by some eager salesperson at BDG, what you do get is so much better - talented designers who are excited about putting together an amazing look for your project...and at the right price. read more

My partner and I discovered BDG Design Group after doing a home tour. We talked to a designer/architect and asked where she found a particular tile for a fireplace and she led us to BDG and we are so grateful! Chelle is so kind and talented. She is honest and fun to work with. I have worked in Old Town for the past 5 years and never knew it was there. It is like a kid in a candy store! There have so many tiles to choose from. I love the store! We personally got her to help us order our new quartz counter tops and backsplash. Will post pics once everything is complete - but if you are looking for tile and counters - this is the place to go! I will never buy tile again at Home Depot or Lowe's. We chose an absolutely gorgeous glass tile that we had never seen before for the focal wall of the shower and it came out great. The recommended a great installer and helped tie everything together. My wife and I are nearly complete with a total home remodel with Marrokal Design and Remodeling as general contractor. Every vendor Marrokal recommended was exceptionally professional, thorough and courteous. Every vendor except for BDG Design Group. We almost felt like hostages as BDG is sole middle-man for several excellent tile products. It was either deal with BDG or find alternative tiles. It was so bad that my wife and I invented a game to come up with new words for the BDG initials. I thought we came up with some insightful new names, but unfortunately most would be banned from a public website such as Yelp. OK, let's provide some details of our BDG experience. Before our first visit we called and scheduled an appointment with "Judy" (not actual name). We arrived BDG at scheduled time and stepped inside where there is a receptionist station. The receptionist looked at us and bluntly asked, "Do you have business here?". We replied yes, that we had an appointment. The receptionist asked us who our appointment was with and we replied Judy. Without getting up from desk receptionist yells at the top of her lungs, "JUDY THERE'S SOMEONE HERE TO SEE YOU". I was shocked at such an unprofessional greeting. Things really didn't improve much when Judy arrived and showed us samples. It really seemed like our tile desires weren't being heard or understood. After leaving and during the drive home wife & I thought maybe the miscommunication was partly our responsibility. So we came up with an idea to improve communications for our second visit. In MS Word we documented specific tile desires and maybe six questions. We scheduled a second appointment with Judy. Upon arriving BDG we shared our specific tile desires and asked our first question. Judy said she could Email a photo which would help answer that question. Judy turned and walked to her computer. Wife and I stood in tile area thinking that Judy would hit the send button and return shortly. After perhaps 10-15 minutes wife and I went looking for Judy. Judy was at her desk and said, "I sent you an email. Was there something else you needed?". Wow, there really was an inability to communicate with this BDG representative. From that point forward we knew we were really on our own to find and select tiles. Unfortunately as stated earlier BDG is the sole contracted middle man between the general public and select tile manufacturers. It would have been so nice to abandon BDG and use a different vendor. In the end we were stuck having BDG as middle man (and making an undeserved profit) for getting the tiles we desired. In discussion with several subcontractors we heard the same opinion regarding BDG being the undesired but mandatory source for select tiles. I'm optimistic that Marrokal has heard the uniform negative opinions regarding BDG and is working to develop an alternative. read more

Just completed a home remodel. We lived in the house through the process which isn't fun but we are so thrilled with the results mostly due to the fabulous tile throughout from BDG. Working with Chelle and Larry was a dream. They are both so knowledgeable, creative, enthusiastic and just fabulous to work with. They also have a team of amazing designers.
