Came here with my parents when they last came to visit me and we enjoyed the food at Be More Thai! My dad usually gets Tom yum soup at Thai restaurants but decided to try the tom kha here and loved it! I did think it had just a little extra salt and they do put what tastes like a good amount of fish sauce in, which I didn't mind but may not be for everyone. We also ordered: - Pad Thai with shrimp which tasted like standard but delicious pad Thai - Kao soi off the specials menu, which was also tasty (but not quite as tasty as Thai street's, in my opinion) - Pad khing sod with chicken which had a HEAVY ginger taste because of the pieces of ginger in it, and again this didn't bother me too much, but may not be for everyone Overall we really liked this place, it's in a cool location, it's a surprisingly large space inside (I think they have 3 floors for dining!?), the waitress that we had was really sweet, patient, and informative, AND we did really like the food - I know it sounds like I had a complaint about every dish, but I'm mostly just really critical, I promise! Oh man, this food was great!! If you look at my other reviews you will see I'm always on the hunt for decent Asian food in the city. Be More Thai does not disappoint! Service was good, no complaints there, but the reason for my good review was the quality and flavor. I got Ka Pow Fried Rice (think spicy basil) and asked for it to be extra spicy. They did not disappoint! Portion was big, meat was high quality, and flavor was on point. My wife got yellow curry, a dish I'm usually "meh" about. This came out of nowhere to steal the show. As soon as I opened our bag of food the flavorful smell smacked me in the face. I was worried it would be all bark no bite, but it tasted even better than it smelled. I don't get carryout more than 1x per week but I might need to break that rule and get back sooner. There is so much on the menu I can't wait to try. When I went to pick up the food I also noticed the interior looks really nice. Looking forward to checking it out! Try it out, you won't regret it. I would argue it is the best Thai I have had in the city, but you should try all 3 in our neighborhood and judge for yourself! First, this restaurant is sooo cute! I was too busy taking in the ambiance to take a photo. Plus it smells so good and feels calm and welcoming. I ordered a bunch of food and none of them disappoint. The the more fried rice was chef's kiss. You can tell a good Thai restaurant by their pad Thai and fried rice. The iced tea was perfect: not too sweet. Make sure to stir thoroughly before drinking! My friend got an item on their special menu and it was very good. Hands down my go-to Thai restaurant in Baltimore. This was my second time having dinner at Be More Thai and I brought a friend a long with me. They were offering a special curry, not yet on the menu, called Massamun curry, to which I add duck as my protein. It was absolutely amazing. We also shared a plat of the Thai chicken wings with sweet chili sauce. Everything tasted amazing. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant and the staff is wonderful. We went last night for my friend's birthday dinner and she loved it! The decor and ambiance are beautiful. Great place to be able to have a conversation and hear yourself as well, service was also fantastic. We ordered the spring rolls and hoy jaw appetizers and they were both delicious. You can't find hoy jaw everywhere either. I like getting Thai food that isn't your basic Thai food and this place hits the spot. For our entrees we had the Kao Soi and Tom Yum Noodles Soup and they were perfectly spiced and flavored. Kao Soi is another dish that's harder to find at Thai restaurants, it's a northern Thai noodle dish with curry broth and it was amazing. And because we love food, we got the pumpkin custard and bua Loy desserts. Pumpkin custard was good, but maybe not my favorite. My favorite was the bua Loy, hands down. The perfect sweet and salty coconut sauce with the tender tapioca balls made fresh, reminded me of my childhood. I slept on this place for so long because it's in the federal hill side of Baltimore. But truly it's one of the most decent Thai places in the city. I will have to update my review with photos. But I love their soft shell crab salad appetizer, the curries are solid - the Massaman and green is good. Pad Thai is a disappointment, so I'd save the calories. The wait staff is so friendly - they will bring you a mini lazy Susan of hot sauces if you ask. The location is quite big abs they have an upstairs. It's definitely got causal family vibes. I love be more Thai! It's a short walk from where I live so this is the place I go when I'm craving Thai food. They are always efficient when ordering carry out but this time I came for a sit in meal, and was just as impressed. The upstairs dining space is brightly lit and cozy. We love a couple of a Thai places in Baltimore. This places give them a run for their money. The place is very eclectic and has some beautiful art around. The fake flowers could be replaced with real ones but I'm just being picky as a plant lover. The food was reasonably priced and honestly tons of variety. As a pescatarian there were many options. We got the eggplant tempura which was fried and seasoned to perfection. So good! We also got the garden rolls with tofu and then for the entree we shared panang curry with tofu and veggies. The garden rolls were good and the sauce was nice. But the curry was so tasty. It was sour, sweet, spicy all the flavors you want. The wine was reasonably price for a bottle and good choices. The staff was friendly, and the decor appeared to be really nice. The carry out experience was not good. The packaging was wrong for the chicken wings appetizer. The wings were soggy and sitting in sauce. The yellow curry was just okay... I have had better. The rice portion size was not enough for the curry. Nice little restaurant. We were in Baltimore for a few days so we decided to take a walk over to this restaurant. We both had the $14.95 lunch specials. My husband had the Tom Yum soup with chicken and the Thai Pad with chicken. I had the Tofu soup and Red Curry with chicken. I wish I ordered the Tom Yum soup. It was really good and spicy, but not overwhelming so. The Tofu soup was good on, but the broth in the Tom Yum soup was much, much better. The Thai Pad was good, nothing special, but good. The Red Curry was excellent and on the spicy side. Overall it was a great deal and they had plenty of options to choose from. The portions were good for us too. We dined upstairs and sat right by the window. It's a nice dining room and the bathrooms were spotless. The service was great too. We didn't feel rushed and the food came out in an orderly fashion. Could not Be More Happy I got the Spicy Duck Curry and it was heavenly. It came highly recommended by our server, and it lived up to the hype. Their food is pretty good, no doubt but they are very expensive, as a Thai iced tea cost $7 on the apps (they charge an extra dollar for no ice. That's so scammy. It's disappointing to see businesses take such advantage of a customer just because they cannot come in to get the food). They are very scammy on the apps and overcharge to an extreme degree. The garden rolls were also really disappointing and flavorless, which I say as a connoisseur of them who also makes my own. I've never had a bad one until now, and it lacked a protein (no tofu, just bean sprouts and lettuce inside), which is further skimping by the restaurant, a total ripoff when it costs $11 online! $11 for just two ptotein-less rolls of some veggies stuffed in edible paper. The main dish was good, but not worth the very high price they charge, (you have to pay extra for any protein or meat - that is not included in the price of the dish or the dish itself unless you pay extra. Want extra Eggplant? That's $5 extra, amounting to $30 for one dish that's not a large one. I used to love this place, but their price gouging has me going elsewhere. I cannot vote with my money for a restaurant that is mainly interested in taking as much of my money as they can. Not the customer service or the food. I get nickel and dimed via late-stage capitalism enough. We all do. I won't be paying a business to do that to me. read more

Our first visit in person. We have ordered takeout at least 3 times already. It has quickly become our favorite place in Fed Hill. We decided to sit down at the restaurant tonight. We sat outside & crowd watched as we ate. I hope outdoor seating remains a permanent feature for Baltimore. We had Red Curry with Chicken and Pad Woon Sen with Tofu. Both were fantastic. My Dógs. This place is not 5 stars. It's 6. What makes this a 6 star restaurant. Not really sure. Let's do some analysis and figure this out: decor? Spon(HECKING)taneous. I walked in expecting nonetheless. 3 floors of tables with modern decor. A perfect place to wine and dine your s/o and close the deal. It was a row home that was designed as a restaurant. A never before seen. As if Picasso came in and spit on the walls and floors with his magic paint brush. A place you will not forget. Food? To die for. Possibly some of the best pad Thai I have ever had. The noodles were chewy, the oil was oiling and the chicken was bussin. The sauce reminded me of the first time I ate pad Thai. We also got the crying tiger. Was I expecting a cat to be served? Possibly. Instead I got some phenomenal steak with this lemon/tangy/salty sauce that hit just right as an appetizer. Lastly was their drunken noodles. The noodles were out of this world. The hot sauce had we sweating as if I were sitting in the hot sun during vacation in Thai land. The pork was cooked to the most perfect temperature and the tomatoes were so juicy it squirt in my mouth with every bite I took. Services? Sadly not the greatest. But that was because I'm a bimbo who thought going to a restaurant on a holiday wouldn't be packed. I was wrong. With the powers of the busser, cook, host, and server, they were able to provide exceptional service. Even though they were understaffed during the night, they ran up and down the restaurant trying to feed everyone with their delicious food. This may be the first Thai place I've eaten from and actually liked it enough to want to go back. I think the reason I don't care for Thai food is because so much of it uses coconut and/or peanut which are 2 flavors I don't prefer. Obviously this dish having neither of those flavors was a plus personally but I've also found Thai food either overly bland, spicy, and/or salty and this was none of those. Lovely restaurant in the Federal Hill neighborhood. The upstairs dining area is cozy and comfortable with a TV for viewing sports. We were visiting in early January so we loved the Christmas decorations. The food and service was excellent. We had the scallion pancakes, dumplings, some curry dishes, and the chicken with cashew nuts. If you like heat but are concerned about too much Thai heat, they bring you 4 different jars of peppers and oils you can add heat to your taste. We will definitely be back! read more

We ordered a pad kee mao, red curry with shrimp, ka pow fried rice, pad khing sod, and the crispy chicken basil. We must have been there on an off day given the current star rating. My husband had the chicken in garlic sauce. He loved the garlic sauce but the chicken was dry. I had the pork belly bowl. The pork belly was very dry as was the entire bowl. The chive pancakes were not. What we were expecting but quite good. We were expecting more of a scallion pancakes but there were creamy in the center and quite good. The curry puffs were more dough than filling. Because the price is a little higher I'm more upset that my order was messed up. I asked for no scallions which my order doesn't have but I also asked for no onions which my order does have. Very poor customer service starting from walking into the place. They were not even at half capacity but must have been short staffed because it was ridiculous how long we had to wait to be seated. After seating, the waitress never came back to take out order....we just left. Before we walked out though, another woman at another table stopped the waitress to ask about her food. Great ambiance, friendly staff, delicious food! We arrived right at opening after walking down from the Science Center (0.3 mi). We were seated upstairs in a a cozy, wood-and-brick toned room with a window over the street. We took advantage of the happy hour appetizer specials. My favorite was the spring rolls - crispy, flavorful, light - while my kids went nuts for the gai yang. We tried a variety of dishes and everyone enjoyed theirs. Pictured is the pork belly and rice - but note the wrong sauce (which they corrected without our saying anything). I got the cashew chicken which was different than I'm accustomed to. I didn't love the fried chicken flavor, but my daughter thought it was great. The sauce, cashews, and rice were really good with it. The standout for me was the Tom Kha soup. So flavorful!
