    chicken pad thai

Great authentic pad thai with chicken. Quick take out time - didn't eat inside the restaurant but it looked cute. Parking in fed hill is tough at times.

I ordered delivery and really enjoyed the three distinctly different items ordered. I can honestly say I've never had a fried wonton like the ones prepared from here. They were light yet filled to the brim with chicken filling. I felt like it was in house made and not a massed produced frozen item that had been flashed fried. I would order again. Next I ate the Thai coconut custard, it was very tasty. The best part (although I don't know if a mistake) they were served in three very cute ceramic dishes. Not only did I get a meal, I received new dishes to add to my house:) Lastly, I ordered the Larb. I requested no onions or scallion. It was very flavorful with basil and crunchy lettuce included. It was an unexpected protein full meal. I thought the serving was plentiful and could not finish the Larb. I would recommend trying if you're on the fence. If this experience was this yummy delivered, I'm sure the in house service is even better. Good luck scoring the ceramic dishes with your takeout/delivery service.

If you're looking for a great Thai spot, Bodhi is truly 10/10. I have been searching for a Thai restaurant that really hits the spot for years, and I can honestly say I finally found it. From the moment you walk in, you can tell it's a place people love. great energy, great food, and great staff who make you feel welcomed. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed, which is always a good sign. It was a bit loud, but nothing unbearable or uncomfortable ... you could still enjoy your meal and conversation. The atmosphere felt lively and fun. I ordered the Thai fried rice extra spicy and my goodness, it was incredible. The flavor was rich, perfectly seasoned, and the spice level was exactly what I wanted. You can tell the food is made with care and authenticity. I also ordered the pomegranate martini and it was absolutely amazing. It had the perfect balance of sweet without being overwhelming, especially if you're someone who doesn't love super strong drinks. It was refreshing and paired really well with the meal. Overall, Bodhi is definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to. Great food, great staff, and a great overall experience.

2 out of 5 stars Bodhi Federal Hill - Baltimore, MD We stopped by Bodhi Federal Hill for a vegetarian lunch, but unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing overall. First impressions weren't great -- the dining area looked dimly stylish, but the walls near our table had visible streaks and fluid stains that really took away from the atmosphere. For a restaurant with such pretty decor otherwise, this kind of upkeep issue stood out immediately. We clearly mentioned to our server that we were vegetarian and do not eat eggs, meat, or fish. Despite that, our papaya salad arrived with fish sauce. I only realized after taking a bite. When I brought it up, the server offered to replace it but didn't apologize or seem particularly concerned. It was off-putting, especially since the restaurant wasn't even busy (just a few tables occupied during lunch). The food itself was okay but didn't make up for the service lapse. The basil summer rolls looked fresh but lacked texture and flavor depth. The edamame was fine, and the tofu stir-fry had decent seasoning but nothing memorable. The only real highlight was the sake mojito -- refreshing, balanced, and nicely presented. Sadly, the overall experience left a bad taste in our mouths -- literally and figuratively. With better attention to cleanliness, customer communication, and authenticity of vegetarian options, Bodhi could be a lovely spot. As it stands, I'd hesitate to return. Oh additionally, the basil rolls we received also came with saran wrap plastic at the bottom that I took out from my mouth (oof).

Huge fresh Summer Basil Rolls, lettuce around avocado, cashews, carrot, and cucumber, with mint basil cilantro sauce and peanut sauce

Bodhi Federal Hill, tasty Thai. Taking an evening's break in busy lives, we enlisted Bodhi Federal Hill to make us tasty Thai take-out. We always get edamame when we find it, and Bodhi serves it salted, steamy-hot, and tender yet firm. In their pods, of course. You get around a pint, i suppose, plenty to share among four of us. We also got two 2-piece order of their huge six-inch-long two-inch-wide $9 Summer Basil Rolls, lettuce wrapped around avocado, cashews, shredded carrot, and cubed-cucumber. It came with a sweet minty basil cilantro sauce that really woke up the flavor. It also came with a slightly spicy thick flavorful peanut sauce, though i'm not sure if they always include that sauce because we meant to order it as an add-on. I would ask for extra sauces next time, because of their great flavors. We got three classic mains for the four of us, which was the right amount for us, though we probably would have finished a fourth, too. And we ordered each at the no-spice level, but you can choose the level you like, and some mains come quite spicy if you dont modify that. We liked the drunken soft wide rice-noodles, with red peppers, garlic, onion, and bright basil, and for $17 we added mushrooms instead of protein, which were flavorful cremini button-mushrooms and long slightly-crisp small-headed enoki or beech mushrooms. We also liked the Thai fried Jasmine rice, with scattered egg, carrots, broccoli, peas, corn, scallions, onion, and cucumber, flavored with lime. We chose $17 chicken for the protein. The narrow strips of tender juicy chicken-breast were good, but not highly flavored. My favorite was the Pad Thai for $19 with several good sized shrimp, thin rice noodle, tofu, crisp bean sprouts, some light egg and scallions, and crumbled peanuts. Here, again, I would add extra peanut sauce because i like it so much. The price was quite reasonable, around $85. Each dish and appetizer was delicious and well-made. Those basil lettuce rolls are enormous and amazing, especially using the sauces. We ordered on-line on a Friday evening and our food was ready on-time in about 20min. Everything was perfect!

My boyfriend and I visited Bodhi around 10pm on Saturday for their late night menu. It was quiet and honestly a vibe in the dimly lit restaurant. We were immediately greeted and our waitress was very kind. We ordered some appetizers and drinks. The spring rolls were delicious but the chicken pops stole the show for me. My boyfriend tried the Thai iced tea cocktail and I ordered the lychee sake martini twice!! Our entrees were delicious--basil fried rice and the Mama bowl (which is like a Thai ramen). And for it to be a late night menu, I didn't feel limited at all! It was great portions. I will definitely return and would love to sit in their back patio. We were told goodbye with sweet little candies on our way out.

    Pad Ginger with Duck

Bodhi is easily a 10/10. Thai is one of my favorite cuisines, and this restaurant executes every dish beautifully. I've never had a bad meal here--each visit I try something new and it never disappoints. I even tried frog legs for the first time (very skeptical at first) and they were incredible. My first Kra Prow was here and it's now a favorite. The Pad Ginger with duck is truly phenomenal. Warm, pleasant staff and a small, intimate setting that's perfect for date night. Highly recommended--especially if you're open to trying something new.

Duck curry and chicken pad veggies
    Bill S.

My sister in-law is from Thailand and she is a great cook, this might be the best Thai restaurant I have ever been too. Spring rolls were made fresh that day and were full of crunch and flavor. My wife got the chicken Pad veggies, simple but cooked to perfection. I had the duck curry, it is most likely the best curry I have had as well. The atmosphere was great, smaller but intimate, service was also great. If I'm back in Baltimore it's a must revisit.

    Papaya Salad
    Vy T.

Visited this restaurant after my brother's white coat ceremony from dental school. The food was good overall, such as the panang curry, pad thai, drunken noodle, and duck. The papaya salad was just okay, as it was drenched and could have used less sauce/liquid. It was nice that they were able to accommodate for gluten free. The server seemed tired but friendly enough as she took our order. The restaurant had both an indoor and outdoor courtyard area with a nice atmosphere.

I've been coming to Bodhi for years and always have an excellent meal. The space is tiny so make sure you come early to secure a table! The outdoor patio is gorgeous as well. The lychee sake martini is DIVINE!!!! I also always get the Thai iced tea to go whenever I come for dinner as a pick me up for the next morning! The Kao Soi is excellent here, they give you so much of the crunchy noodles and the protein. The drunken noodles can get v spicy so be careful! Still my favorite drunken noodles in Baltimore!

    Basil Mussel

Checked out Bodhi for dinner on a surprisingly pleasant (aka not sweltering hot) August night. They had outdoor patio dining which was done up prettily with string lights. We were a walk in and were seated promptly and they do allow pets in the outdoor area. (Big plus). The negative was..we didn't have our order taken till like almost 30 minutes after being seated. Which kinda sucked since we were hungry. There was a big dining party inside but still, 30 minutes is a long wait time for orders to not be taken. Once ordered though food came out quick and portion sizes were huge. We shared the basil mussel app(almost wish they served this with a side of rice cos what a waste of the tasty delicious sauce) which had nice large mussels. My bf enjoyed his tofu drunken noodle and I got the tom yum noodle soup with chicken which was also so huge I had to take most of it home. Would absolutely come back to Bodhi again.

    Kao Soi with chicken

One of my go to spots, everything I've had is so flavorful. I try to go once or twice a month m. My go to dishes are the Panang curry and the Kao Soi both with chicken. I've brought guests and they've also been very impressed.

Fabulous ambiance , amazing flavorful Thai Food. I'm pretty picky about my Thai Food and let me tell you Bodhi , bodied it. My Thai Fix was definitely filled here. From the time I walked in the door I knew I was going to have an amazing experience. The food took a while, about an hour to be exact , but once I tasted my dish it was all worth it. I give them 5 stars regardless of the wait and even my food not being cold when it came out lol they get a pass lol The ambiance was absolutely beautiful, made me feel like I was transported right to Thailand. Our host Samantha was so sweet and our server Noon was great, so nice , so patient , and accommodating. I love it here. Even the bathrooms were beautiful, clean , decorated. Lots of greenery, beautiful plants and hanging lights . So chic. They opened up the patio just for us despite it being closed. And the playlist on the patio was so jazzy and smooth. Super sexy lol I ordered the Panang Curry with shrimp, crispy pork Belly, added basil and extra lime ... rice noodles on the side . It was ridiculously delicious. My taste buds were buzzing. You get a chance to control your spice levels , I enjoyed all the spice and curry flavors. I cannot wait to come back here . What a Gem!

We were greeted and seated relatively quickly and looked over the menu at our table. We asked the waitress if they had fish cakes, since we saw pictures of them on Yelp from this place. She didn't say anything, just pointed at something completely different on the menu. My wife repeated "fish cakes," and she pointed at the chive cakes. It looks like they used to serve them and took them off. That's a simple question with a simple answer, but instead of just saying that, she pointed at a menu twice and made it feel like we were bothering her. We started with the larb chicken and it was good. Limey, strong fish sauce, a little spicy, good contrasting textures. All good things. It's also the only thing I took a picture of, since by that point the experience had started to sour. For entrees, my wife got the boat noodles and I got the krapow. I asked the server to confirm the chicken was ground and she said yes. It came out sliced. Turns out the ground chicken version is on the menu as Chop-Chop Basil, but I was unfamiliar with the menu. It was an easy thing for her to correct but she didn't. I didn't make a thing of it, but it was annoying. I only had a bite of the boat noodles, but it was good. Nice balance of savory with a touch of sweetness. The meatballs were soft and bouncy, the meat was tender, good textures all around. The krapow was very good, mix-up aside. I asked for Thai spicy and they delivered. Excellent flavor, very tender meat, not too sweet. Probably one of the better krapows I've had out here. The part that really soured it was overhearing the manager with another table. An elderly couple and a friend had asked for their vegetables cooked well done since they can't chew firm food. They sent it back saying it was still too firm. The manager came out and basically yelled at them, saying they'd already cooked it longer than usual and couldn't cook it any more, and that next time he'd just put it in a blender. The couple had been nothing but kind about the whole thing. The kitchen did end up cooking it longer, but he never came back out to check if it was actually satisfactory. Maybe that isn't required, but the whole thing read like he was annoyed with them. The food here is excellent, easily five stars on its own. I'm docking a star for service. It was rude how they spoke to the elderly customers, rude to point silently at a menu instead of just saying the fish cakes are gone, and frustrating to be told the meat was ground when it wasn't. I'm not sure I can go back and dine in because it felt like we were a nuisance the whole time. I'll probably do carry out from now on. The inside is small and quaint and it looks like it gets busy around dinner, so come early if you want a table.
