Great coffee and amazing Loco Moco. I love how they make a wide hamburger patty to fit over the rice - enough for every scoop/bite. I asked for a pancake sampler that I saw on YELP, and they said it's part of their secret menu where you get to choose 3 of your choice (thought they pick the flavors for you) - so what a treat. We picked the Apple Cobbler, Lemon Ricotta, and Blue Hawaiian - pancakes were light and fluffy, GREAT BATTER. No complaints on the FOOD at all. *Customer service on the other hand was lacking - we didn't know they didn't use menus until someone came by and said they only use QR codes (totally fine but wish they mentioned it when seated). Had to ask for lemon amd straws twice. We were never checked up on- had to flag someone down for water and coffee refills AND when I was finally able to get someone's attention to ask for to-go containers, they came to the table to acknowledge the request - then completely ignored it. It took about 3 tries to get someone to look our way and get what we needed, including the check. Would I go back here? most likely - food's good. BUT they have to work on their customer service. (unless they think since the food is good, they don't need customer service?) 8 out of 10 for me.
Bea Bea's is located on a corner with outdoor seating conveniently covered by the edge of the building. The only negative is the possibility of the blasting of horns from impatient drivers at the light. While it is not listed on the menu, they still offer a DIY mini pancake flights of 3 flavors. But we decided to go with the full stack of Green Tea Monster $19.95 and Grilled Veggie Frittata $20.95 for a hit of vegetables, which came with side. The day's only potato option being home fried potatoes. I was a bit afraid that we might be forgotten, having opted to being seated outside. But no fear! Menus were brought out directly, followed by napkins and utensils. The pancakes were delicious, while the frittata was just satisfactory as the conveyor of vegetables.
Came here on a Sunday at around noon. There was a pretty long wait for regular seating but the bar had open seats so the bar it was! It's got an old school vibe with a mix of modern diner. The servers are great even though it was busy the entire time, now to the food! Stack of pancakes, breakfast sandwich, wet breakfast burrito side of breakfast potatoes and two lattes! One hot, one iced. Great food at a decent price!
After hearing many people sing their praises, I knew I had to plan my errands specifically around this location and restaurant. Immediately when I walked in, it seemed to be very nondescript, and I wouldn't have known where I was if I didn't know, as there was no decoration and nothing exciting about the setup. There also wasn't really a specific area for guests to wait to be served, and no one seemed to be around to help. One of the two waiters, I believe, informed me I could sit anywhere, and I was thankful I received a handheld menu as the service was awful. It probably took over 15 minutes for the other waiter to notice me, and she finally took my order haphazardly while I'm seeing a lady who sat at the counter seating after me already receiving service and water from the first waiter. While the menu had lots of options, what really struck me was the overpricing of the items, specifically the bread items, and many other things seemed to be à la carte. Paying $25 for pancakes and sausage from a breakfast place seems a bit absurd compared to other breakfast places of higher caliber around Los Angeles and California as a whole. The service never improved, and it was definitely an extremely disappointing experience overall. While I understand they may have been short-staffed as the restaurant was pretty full with only two servers, with one working the food also, it didn't feel good to receive such inattentive and just unprofessional service from them. Hopefully there weren't any racist undertones involved but it makes you sit back and reflect as I was the only African American there. Regardless if that's the case, what a waste of a drive!
Whenever I have a hankering for soft and sweet pancakes I come to Bea Bea's. Both locations have their loyal customers and I'm one of them. I love that they have non pork protein options for the egg pairings and I typically the old faithful: papa Sam's scramble and Summer's Dream pancakes. From dates to family brunch to solo adventures and to go order's I'm glad Bea Bea's provides a consistent great breakfast with a robust menu. I'm always greated well, and appreciate the street (meter) parking available nearby.
If you're in the mood for pancakes, THIS is the spot. Wait time can vary depending on day (about a 20 min wait on weekends during peak hours), but the wait is well worth it. The location itself isn't "eye popping" but there's plenty of things to look at and keep you busy while you wait, but you come for the food....
Absolutely delicious! My friend and I were in the area and she recommended that we try this place because it's one of her favorite diners. I ordered the Pooh's breakfast with a side of coconut sesame gluten free pancakes and it was AMAZING! The eggs and sausage were standard but the gf pancakes were soooo good. You can't even tell that they are gluten free - soft, pillowy, and with just the right amount of bounce. The sesame flavor was strong but not overpowering and the coconut added the perfect balance. I tried my friend's matcha gluten free pancakes and they were equally delicious. I can't wait to try more flavors next time!
This place is GREAT!! My daughter and I sat out on the shady patio and ordered the house latte, matcha latte, tutti fruitti crepes and huevos rancheros. Everything we ordered was delicious and our food and beverages came out quickly too. We ate here while my car was having some routine maintenance done down the way so we took our time eating and catching up here till the car was ready and didn't feel rushed at all. They seem to do really good business here. It was busy but no wait for a table.
A Breakfast Experience That Left Me Feeling Low I usually start my mornings with a good breakfast and an even better vibe, but this place missed the mark entirely. The food itself? Decent. But the service? It carried an energy so grumpy and disengaged that I left feeling worse than when I walked in. And at 8:30 AM, when the restaurant was only about 50% full, there was no excuse for it. From the moment we sat down, the vibe was off. When we asked a staff member about an item on the menu, she looked at us blankly from two tables away--didn't move, didn't respond, just stared. It wasn't until our actual server came over that we got any answer, and even then, the first staff member just turned and walked away, completely apathetic. Later, I asked our server if I had somehow offended her, only to be told, "That's just not her job." Apparently she is not a server. Which...what? How is answering a simple question not part of working in a restaurant? When our food arrived, the servers didn't even bother placing the plates properly, just setting them on the table's edge without a word or even checking whose order was whose, without a single word they both turned around a left. The silence was almost comical. It felt like they had picked up on my earlier comment and collectively decided to ice us out. I've been an Elite Gold Yelper for close to 8 years, and I can confidently say that places like CiCi's Cafe, Cafe 21, and Castaway have never left me feeling this down before my day even started. Dining out is about the whole experience, not just the food. If that wasn't the case, people would just eat at home. Common courtesy isn't a luxury in the service industry--it's a basic expectation. Unfortunately, this place made it clear that it was too much to ask.
So I have been here on three different occasions. Two during the week day and one on the weekend. The staff is way more attentive during the weekday which is understandable because they were packed on Sunday. I just don't think the food should lose its value/ quality or artistic appeal. My latte was not filled to the top and no leaf design. I don't mind it since it just the drink but the food taste and presentation was very bland. Minimal effort shouldn't be a staple. They literally just put like a Kraft square cheese slice on top of the omelette. Consider shredding or just not adding it! It just proves the lack of effort and quality. The female hostess wasn't liking her job. It just gives a sense of and seems like this is a family operation and it feels like a forced obligation to work here because the staff don't even smile or have that carisma a waitress or waiter would have to earn tips. Don't get me wrong. I did tip but my mother was mentioning they didn't deserve it and she's the really nice one in the family! So that right there, made me write this review. Not to mention I was actually excited to share the spot with my mom for brunch. Sadly, it was very disappointing and embarrassing. I did ask who was the owner and was told one of the guys in the back with a cap but there were like three!?! I wasn't going to bring it to his attention on a busy day but I do hope he reads this and maybe share with your staff that they shouldn't look so miserable while being in customer service industry as it's important to have hospitality. Maybe they need a raise or break?! Who knows because I think I wont be returning. Plus, parking was a nightmare and since Starbucks drive thru is across the street and alley was just packed and blocked to use any parking nearby. I have added pictures from all three visits and you will see the petty Kraft cheese pushed to the side. Such a shame.
We've becoming to bea bea's original Burbank location for more than a decade. Our favorite breakfast there is the Bea Bea's omelette. We tend to put the jalapeños on the side and substitute the spinach for olives as our personal special. There pancakes and waffles are very good as well. Our kids love the Belgian chocolate ones. Staff is great and the ambiance is chil.
Okay, I didn't expect the portion sizes to be this big & im not mad at all. The food was great, only thing I wasn't a fan of were the potatoes. it was missing something but overall the food was absolutely fresh & delicious. The service was great, the servers were attentive & fast paced with everything. It was a nice setting as the lighting was natural & the music wasn't noticeable. I would & see myself coming back here again.

Alright, alright... Hate to break it down to y'all but Bea Bea FOR ME is just another Instagram worthy but really just a so-so kind of breakfast place. I first went to this place sometime in 2020 expecting it to be the most amazing brunch ever! I know for sure we ordered the Green Tea Monster and 2 orders of Egg Benedicts, really unsure which specifically at this point. But of course before that, we waited at least 30 mins to be seated on a very busy Saturday morning when we arrived at 8:00 AM. Their staff was very limited hence customer service was very bad. NGL, the pancakes were amazing!!! Like this is the only reason why I would come back to this place. Egg Benedicts are okay tasting but for the price? Nope, would not order it again. Fast forward to earlier today, we gave this place another shot. Why not? It's been at least a year since we last came, probably wait time to be seated is not that long or maybe they have more people in the resto to accomodate you. Guess what... We were seated right away! That's FANTASTIC. But the service??? Oh, Lord. Come to think of it, they have more people working now so we should be okay, right? Nope, nope, nope... The host did not bother saying greeting us nicely, just straight away walking to our table asking for our vaccination cards. When we pulled out our cards, he DID NOT BOTHER EVEN LOOKING AT IT FOR MORE THAN 2 SECONDS AND LEFT US AT OUR TABLE WITHOUT EVEN SAYING THAT WE WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF OUR SERVER. Our server came after 15 minutes of looking at which server will assist us. And it's wasn't just us. It seems like everyone inside was doing a guessing game of who their server is and what time they will be coming to their table. It's that bad. The other servers or food runners WILL AVOID YOU ON PURPOSE EVEN IF YOU MET THEIR EYES ALREADY WHILE RAISING YOUR HAND TO ASK FOR SOMETHING. Moving on to our food, the Pancake Flight was decently sized and priced which is the only reason why today's dining experience is okay. Steak Sandwich is overcooked with regular tasting bread and was not even a big portion, blah... Sicilian Scamble was overpriced but the taste is alright. These all came in after 20-25 minutes??? Save your time, save your money. There are other places who will provide amazing and quality customer service without leaving with a $70 check plus with a happy and satisfied tummy! read more

Street parking and bring your change for the meter. Outdoor seating on the patio area. Tried the Pancake Flight, Blue Hawaiian with bananas, blueberries and macadamia nuts good needed syrup though. Matcha Green Tea Monster Pancakes interesting taste not for me though. My favorite was the Red Raspberry pancakes super sweet and nice whip cream on top. The big burrito was ok. There was a problem with there ordering tablet so our burrito came out first then they came and retook the order for the pancakes and those came out later. Took awhile to receive the check and get cashed out. read more

I was hesitant to try this place due to the bad reviews, but decided to try it for myself since I'm so close by. I have to say it was amazing, the food and service. I will definitely be coming back. I only waited 20 minutes on a Sunday! I recommended their crepes and vanilla latte. The waffles were also really good. read more

Terrible service on the weekend. Food is great they just have no idea how to handle the size crowd this place draws. Totally under staffed. They seat you quickly but then getting even water takes for ever. My 20 year old nephew began eating the little packaged jam. read more

This is one of my favorite brunch places! Every time I'm in the area I need to go here. I've recommended this place to all my friends and family. You definitely want to come early or plan ahead because they get busy and rightfully so since the food is so delicious! read more

Went here yesterday to celebrate a birthday with a nice breakfast. Overall I'd say the food was pretty good, but the service sucked. We were seated right away and given time to look at the menus on our phones. It took a long time for anyone to come to our table, and then someone offered to get us drinks while we wait for our server. A while longer passed, then suddenly our server appeared. She was quick and to the point taking our orders before disappearing. I later realized she was working to go orders and also saw her behind the kitchen line finishing plates as well. There were so many staff there (and a packed house) rushing back and forth past my table--but no one was checking on us. We had to flag down someone who wasn't our server to ask for water. When we finished our meal it took nearly 15 minutes to get the check and a box for our food. We were smack in the middle of the restaurant but somehow felt forgotten. The food was pretty good. Got a breakfast flight, which comes with 3 pancake choices--2 pancakes each. Big portions and lots of toppings. I think the three we chose were extra sweet. Can't remember the names but one was a pumpkin one, another peanut butter Oreo one, and a coconut banana one(which was the best of the three). Also got a regular order of the raspberry creme pancakes--which were delicious. Other things (eggs, hash browns, bacon) were good but nothing to brag about. read more

Pretty good food, HUGE portion sizes I can never finish the food. With the lox the salmon was cut thicker than I'm used to but still good. The sugar rush waffle has to be my fav item there, it has caramelized banana and whipped cream and the waffle consistency is soooo good, slightly crisp with a chewy center! read more

This is my go-to spot for matcha pancakes. Wow they are sooo soft and delicious. Their pancakes are overall extremely filling and great. You'll most likely have food to take home. If you want the works of the traditional, basic American breakfast (eggs/bacon or sausage/potatoes and hashbrowns) then you'll need to ask if the works are extra from your order of pancakes. The lovely part of this place is that they have plenty of condiments to decorate your meal. It's a great spot for breakfast or brunch. The food is pretty darn delicious. In terms of seating, it's a little compact. They have plenty of tables both indoors and outdoors, also, they have seating with their diner bar. I've gone twice already and the wait staff are just great people. The customer service is good because they are attentive to you and your meals. Overall Bea Bea's is a great spot, just be prepared to wait if your party is big. The wait is worth it. read more

AMAZING!! ONE OF MY FAVORITE BRUNCH SPOTS! I had only ever been to the Burbank branch, and I wanted to check out this one. And I think this might be my new favorite Bea Bea's. Ski was awesome! He was quick and efficient, and he made the whole dining experience easy and smooth. He kindly offered me a chair when he saw I put my purse on the floor. I'll definitely ask for him again when I come back. Our food was DELICIOUS, and our portions were big, especially our drinks. Also -- the thai tea is YUMMY! I highly recommend it. I can't wait to come back! (P.S. I've never seen my boyfriend eat so fast. He said the food was delicious.) read more

I flew into LA to visit a friend and we went to Bea Bea's the following morning for brunch. I ordered the loco moco and it was pretty good! The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is because the meat was bland. However, altogether it was great. I love my eggs over easy and it came just like that and the gravy was amazing. If you're in Glendale, try this place if you're breakfast lover like me! read more
