I LOVE their housemade jam and biscuits (I recommend ordering a biscuit as a side instead of toast). I enjoy build-your-own omelets and the french toast. The most recent time I came here though, they mixed up my mom's order and put completely wrong ingredients in her omelet (or, maybe they gave her someone else's order). Of course, I found this fabulous breakfast spot via Yelp! I have been here at least a dozen times and the food never disappoints. Everything from the carnitas & eggs to the old fashioned waffle is made with care. Their pancakes are huge and you can prob split the chicken fried chicken between two people, so keep that in mind when you order. For sides, I like their smoked andouille sausage better than their pork sausage links...and you have to try their homemade jam with their buttermilk biscuit. The jam is really good! Servers are usually on top of everything. Their managers are always hustling and their chefs get food out quickly considering how busy they get! I'm an early bird and enjoy a calm breakfast at a quality spot. If you get here afer 9 AM, there will prob be a wait. I was in the general area working and wanted to avoid another fast food lunch. This placed popped up and looked interesting. Note that they close at 2pm (at least on the Thursday that I was there) so watch your timing. It's basically a breakfast / lunch place with some interesting twists on both. I can see this place having a line out the door on weekends. Parking lot is a bit tight so get there early if you're hungry and make a reservation beforehand for those earlier meals. When I arrived at 1pm, it was about 1/4 full so seating was easy. They also have counter seats for singles or small parties. So that's great for traveling folks. I tried the chicken fried chicken as I used to live in Oklahoma and Texas. The gravy on their version is different than the one I'm used to but it was okay. I prefer the Southern version but was still tasty. It comes with a huge side of breakfast potatoes which do not have onions or bell peppers mixed in (which is a big plus for me). The coffee was delicious and they have real, fresh half and half. Not the little creamer cups with preservatives. I had a mimosa with pineapple juice and they gave me just the right amount of juice. My wife got the quinoa & coconut porridge and that was soooo good. It was giving tropical and the texture was sooo creamy. It definitely satisfied the sweet tooth that you'd look for in pancakes or french toast. I got the huevos rancheros with chorizo and loved it. I have been visiting for 6 years or so food is always good for breakfast. I noticed portion sizes in their skillets have gotten smaller but it is sign of times with inflation. The table smelled like it had been wiped down with an old, dirty rag -- not a great first impression. The California Eggs Benedict was disappointing, and the knives were so dull I couldn't even cut through the English muffin. Our server vanished shortly after delivering our order, and no one checked in to see if we needed anything else. Another staff member eventually dropped the bill off without a word -- no "how was everything," nothing. Overall, the staff seemed disengaged and unhappy, which gave the place a gloomy vibe. Variety of items from omelettes, Benedict's, chicken and waffles, machaca hash, machaca chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, breakfast burritos, raspberry mascarpone French toast is delicious, their breakfast sandwich is delicious, egg dishes, avocado toast is da bomb! They get crowded on Saturday's and Sunday's, but worth the wait. They have later lunch items as well from salads, chili, soups, tacos, turkey club and other chicken sandwiches and melts, lobster roll. Ambiance is pretty frenzied/busy but good food draws many customers and energy. Parking is tight, just park by the library and walk. Brunch mimosas are good, bloody Mary's are weak. read more

I'm so sad that the last few experiences I've had at BP have just been so bad! I used to love this place, and I go quite often (5-7 times a year) with groups of girlfriends for brunch and birthdays. It was our go-to place! I've spent so much money here over the years, but it has gone downhill for sure in quality and service. To start with, the service has been terrible. We are either super rushed by the servers to order, and then before our food if even done the bill is brought out. No refilling of waters/drinks, no asking how our meals were... borderline rude to us every time, like they couldn't give a rip about us being there. Secondly, the actual food has been only ok at best. The potatoes taste old mushy and reheated 10 times, the muffins and coffee cake were dry and no way fresh....for the cost of food here, it's quite embarrassing for it to be so bad lately! My most recent visit, when all of us clearly hadn't eaten most of our breakfasts, the server didn't ask if it was ok, just gave me the bill. When I said it didn't taste fresh, (again, we maybe ate 1/4 of the meal), she said she could take off $5. I spent $87 on 4 breakfasts, all were pretty bad and most uneaten. I never asked to be comped, but $5? I simply will now be taking my business elsewhere. But for the sake of the community and regulars, I hope Beach Plum can get their service and food back up to par. read more
