My boyfriend and I did the 'toes in the sand' which is where you get to have dinner on the beach. Definitely a memorable experience. Definitely a must do at least once! For the toes in the sand the minimum they told me is $450 for us two. The setup and to do the toes in the sand is $150 and you must spend $100 minimum each person on the food items. I believe the rest of the amount is gratuity. We had bread to start off with which was delicious, I was full off the bread. My boyfriend was happy because he had a bucket of Corona. For our appetizer we had the kungpao shrimp which I chose based on reviews. I wasn't let down! My boyfriend had the beach walk filet along with a lobster tail. I had the yellowfin tuna along with a lobster tail. We absolutely loved EVERYTHING. Unfortunately my lobster tail wasn't cooked, so they took it away. I was so full from the yellow fin tuna. I couldn't even finish it anyways. Even with that incident, my experience with the waiter, atmosphere, the rest of the food, was amazing!!!! This place get's 5 stars from this Oregonian. This was our first visit to Destin, and I wanted to find a place that would offer a dining experience that we can't find here at home. With the help of Yelp, I was able to come across BWC. BWC is located on the east part of town, right on the beach. This place is very nice. It has a classy/upscale feel to it, candles, low lights, and garden lights on the back deck. We opted to eat outside and listen to the waves crash on the beach. When we arrived, we had to wait for our table to be set up. No problem with that. They offered to get us a few cocktails while we waited. My wife ordered a Cosmopolitan, and I asked for a Manhattan. Truth be told???? The drinks were horrible haha....don't get it twisted, I love a stiff drink, I often drink my liquor straight, but a Manhattan is a cocktail and should taste as such. Same story with the Cosmo, tasted like straight liquor and not much craft to it. But that's OK!! That's when we switched to wine. Our waiter was very friendly, a nice gentleman. I think our server was having a rough day though. Whereas he did a great job of taking care of us, he seemed a little flustered. I think he was actually trying to make the drinks at the bar and serve the tables also, so I'm not deducting any stars for having that type of stress to handle. Our food was good! I went with the Seafood Pasta "Rockefeller" the dish included: Cavatappi pasta, jumbo shrimp and scallops, pancetta, spinach, sundried tomatoes, in a rich Pernod cream sauce with shaved parmesan. This was a VERY rich dish, but that's how I enjoy my pasta dishes! The seafood was great as well, all tasted fresh and well prepared. At the end of the night, the server gifted my wife a red rose. It was a nice touch to a great evening. Once all was said and done, we took the rose and our glasses of wine down to their fire pit. We enjoyed each others company, sipped our wine, enjoyed the soft light and heat of the fire, and looked at the Henderson Park Inn as it was all lit up. It was very expensive, but it was very romantic and well worth every $ spent. My wife said it was like something from a movie. Something she would've seen on one of her TV shows that she watches. This place was amazing. My husband and I made a reservation about a week in advance for a table outside in time to watch the sunset at 7:15pm. There was valet parking when we arrived and we were seated within 5-10 minutes. The service was fantastic. Our waiter had only been there about 3 weeks but he was wonderful. While the menu is short there is something for everyone. The wine list was extensive. There was an amuse Bouche to start with. We ordered crab cakes for an appetizer. The specials for the night were scallops or lamb chops. While I wanted both, I opted for the snapper and my husband had the seafood pasta Rockefeller. For dessert we had creme brûlée. Not once during the entire dinner were our waters refilled. My glass was basically empty midway through my dinner onwards. One person in our party rated their meal 4/5. We got shamed for having a child on Mother's Day. You have to search hard to find a place that maintains this level of snobbery. My mother, wife, young son, and I were greeted by the valet as we exited the car across the street from the hotel. He advised us that they offered valet service and that guests had received citations for parking on that particular piece of public road with no posted restrictions. We thanked him for the heads up but typically I only require valet service if I have not already parked my own car. Inside, I informed the 3 ladies behind the front desk that we were there for brunch and what name our reservation was under. However, they were unable to assist and told us to contact the host stand 10 feet across the room. I guess they leave the heavy lifting to the seasoned pros. When the host appeared, he leaned in with a hushed tone and a wince to tell me that they were an "adults-only" establishment. "People pay a lot of money to come here," I was told. Does the extra condescension come with a reduced price menu I wondered? I was somewhat befuddled. Perhaps the opportune time to inform a guest of such a policy would be when I had made the reservation 3 weeks prior. I suppose my reservation "for four, well three and a half actually" could have been misconstrued. But alas, "I am willing to seat you, provided the little one doesn't have an incident," our kind-hearted host announced. Our son hadn't soiled the rug for years so surely we'd be fine. We were led out the back door onto the deck to the only table in direct sunlight. Given the 90-degree heat, my mother inquired about sitting in the shade as she motioned at the 4 empty tables under the awning. Again with a wince, "I'm sorry, this is all we have." We decided to forego the heatstroke. It's a shame that two mothers with their sons couldn't enjoy a Mother's Day brunch at Destin's ONLY fine dining located directly on the emerald waters of the Gulf Coast. read more

I was down in Destin a few days ago for Memorial Day weekend with some friends. On our last night we went to the Beach Wall Cafe for dinner. I heard about this place on Yelp and it had some pretty good reviews and their menu looked great. It was not disappointing. The food and service was great. I got the Snapper with risotto and asparagus with some shrimp and crab meat on the side. It was seriously one of the best dishes I've ever eaten. Very impressed. My friends loves their food as well. My husband and I booked reservations here several weeks in advance as we were Traveling to Destin In a few days to celebrate our Anniversary at this particular restaurant. I randomly thought to call today as I always follow up on my reservations prior to arriving and got no answer via phone. I then went to their website and learned they are temporarily closed due to Covid19. I respect they are taking safety precautions however, someone at the restaurant should have had the courtesy to call all guest who had reservations to let us know they have been canceled. We are now stuck with no where to go for our anniversary because most places are now booked due to it being last minute. A common courtesy call would have been nice. This was a special night for us that has been ruined due to lack of professionalism from management who could have simply given us a courtesy call in advance informing us of the closing and cancelled reservations. We literally are coming in town in a couple of days with no plans and no alternate options at this point. read more

First off, it was very difficult to get a reservation. Be warned! If you are a short-term planner like us, you might want to plan ahead for this place. It's very difficult to get in for sunset time frames. There's virtually nowhere to park if you are not staying at the Inn, so plan on valet parking unless you like to walk. We did really enjoy the dinner. Perfect atmosphere. Great view of the gulf. Considering my wife is vegetarian and had to rely on just eating side items, I did think our bill was way too high, and the reliance only side items definitely cheapened the experience for her. News flash! Not everyone eats meat! I suggest providing more vegetarian friendly entrees. Worst for last. After the charge hit my credit card, it was $10 over my original amount. Now, it could have been a simple fat fingered error, but I can say that I've been eating out quite a bit for over 20 years, and I have never seen a mistake made from eating at a restaurant. I stopped by for a refund and for the original receipt (I wanted to make sure it was not tampered with). After keeping me waiting for nearly 20 minutes, conveniently, they could not produce it! I honestly suspect the tip was forged. The manager did give me the overage out of his own pocket, so I suspect if there was such an issue, it will be handled internally. However, the server better thank his lucky stars I didn't get that receipt, because I would've filed charges if he made any forgery! read more

Very nice dinner location. We were coming in a little late and they could accommodate us which was nice. The service was very good and on point. A nice level of service where we had everything we need without the server hovering. The food was also fantastic. The Kung Pao shrimp were very tasty. I opted for the grouper special with the seafood risotto. This was done very well but the fish portion on the special was about half the size of the normal portion, I guess do to the risotto. I would say the only two draw backs were that the champagne we ordered was not pre-chilled. We had to wait about 10 minutes for it to cool in the ice. And secondly, Kung Pao shrimp seemed (not saying they did) had been under a heat lamp for a little to long; they had lost some inter-heat and crispness. All being said this was a great meal.And in all honesty this place is not much more expensive than the other seafood restaurants in the area with much nice ambiance, but with a much small indoor dining area (which we appreciated). read more

We ordered the charcuterie board which I thought was extremely over priced for what you got. I ordered the filet and it was arguably the best steak I have ever had. It had an even crust that added a great textured flavor to the steak. The potatoes were creamy and paired perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the pan seared local snapper and he thought it was incredible. We ordered key lime pie for dessert and it wasn't anything to talk about. I had dinner here the other night to celebrate my in-law's 50th wedding anniversary. Everything about the experience was wonderful. Michael helped pick out a great Chablis to pair with our meal. He also took time to take pictures of our group at sunset on the back porch. The service was excellent. The food was superb. I highly recommend their Key Lime pie or their special ice cream dessert. We heard great things about the Beach Walk Cafe and read the great Yelp reviews, but we were still blown away by the tremendous dinner we had! We came on the second to last night of a family vacation. There were three kids back at the house and I am due with our first child in a few weeks, so we wanted a nice, quiet, and relaxing dinner (for the unforseen future). This restaurant delivered! When we pulled up to the valet he asked if we had a reservation, we told him we didn't and he said we might be able to get a table, since it was early. Thank goodness the hostess was able to give us a great table outside facing the beach. Our server (Lance I think) brought out water for us right away and got my husband's cocktail to him quickly after telling us the specials. Chris and I commented on what a tranquil place it was and how happy we were to have a special dinner before we become parents. The server brought out complimentary tastings of the gazpacho soup of the day and they were delicious. It was hard to decide what to order because all of it sounded amazing. Chris ended up ordering the Grouper Vince a pecan crusted local grouper, oven roasted, crispy mashed potato cake, honey-worcestershire sauce and chives. I went with the special of the day a blackened redfish served atop crawfish risotto, with asparagus and a corn succotash. We loved each of the dishes and couldn't decide whose was better! And the portion sizes were huge! For dessert we ordered the chocolate silk pie. We were thrilled when an enormous piece came out drizzled in caramel. The pie was like a giant truffle, so rich and creamy and decadent! We took half home and shared with the rest of the family. I'm not sure I've had this bad of food at this price point ever, and my husband and I enjoy fine dining. The setting right on a gulf beach is beautiful. Every table had got their picture taken at the end of the meal. The best part of the food was the bread and amuse bouche, the bread was crusty and delicious and the oil was tasty. We started with the shrimp cocktail, which consisted of 4 small shrimp and what appeared to be straight ketchup no twang of horseradish. My husbands wedge was fine. Nothing exceptional. I had the tuna entree and it was heavily crusted in pepper- granted that is what it was supposed to be, but I was surprised because it was so peppered that it was almost inedible. My husband got the filet and it was not on par with its price point. Lobster Mac and cheese only got one bite. The mushrooms in thick brown gravy reminded me of something a cafeteria would serve. Arrived 10 minutes before our reservation and waited and extra 10 minutes. Requested an outside table on our reservation. We were told there was no outside tables available at that time? We said we would prefer to wait for an outside table. However when we finally got to our table their were at least 3 -4 tables or more available that just needed to be cleared. It was okay . Upon delivering our food which all seemed very rushed , there was no offer of a glass or bottle of wine with dinner. It all felt very rushed. We were not the last reservations of the evening and there were tables inside with people still eating. The entree was very expensive $48.00 each. Considering it is such a nice place, and very expensive you would expect excellent service and definitely you want to feel like you enjoyed your evening instead of feeling like you were an inconvenience. I ordered the caprese salad, my friend had a shrimp dish with grits. I was able to try the grits and was shocked at how creamy and flavorful they were (I've tried grits before and wasn't a huge fan). My twin-flame(boyfriend) ran into the same situation with his meal. He ended up getting something and I was going order something else but the lady did not seem like she wanted to return my meal as well. So, I dealt with the sub-par meal. We went here for a date night while in Destin. It was lovely and cozy place with a great view of the ocean. Great place to have dinner and watch the sunset. You have the option of dining outside or inside, of course we picked outside. Awesome place to feel the breeze but the only problem has to be the bugs other than that it was perfect. Server was very helpful and knowledgeable and took time to make sure we got everything we needed. We started with the lump crab cake, which were great. My wife got the pepper crust tuna, which was mouth watering, it's seared perfectly and had so much favor and no fishy taste to it. I had the lobster tail, it was good but a little small for the price, it's lobster tail so it is what it is, nothing too special no fireworks. Overall it was a great experience.
