Food was "ok"! Ordered the bone in ribeye "med-rare" was at best well done to well--done. placed reservations a month prior for outside. Was set next to beach access. Why? Asked to be moved only two tables away? Eating a $300 dinner listening to kids for the gate code was disappointing! read more

While The setting was perfect. The food was less than that. Chicken marsala was consisted of a thigh and a leg ..bone in over garlic risotto which was not great. The grouper, while we love grouper was smothered in some sort of sweet Asian sauce which really over powered the grouper. The appetizer of eggplant and crab meat was excellent, so no complaints there. The waitress kept bringing us Muscato when we ordered Chardonnay and she insisted that we ordered the Muscato. In this case, with very positive ratings, the Beach Walk Cafe was a real treat and lived up to its positive reviews. The unique flavors were sophisticated, yet comforting. Each course arrived with careful presentation. Service was friendly and professional. Overall, the meal was terrific from start to finish with a pleasant atmosphere inside and a fabulous view of the Gulf of Mexico outside. My husband and I were so pleased to find such an impeccably prepared dinner in a relaxed beach town. My only complaint was a surprising $2 charge for sharing our wedge salad. Super intimate and QUIET!. My friend and I went on a girls trip without our toddlers and we wanted to eat in a quiet place on the beach. This is it! No kids under 13 allowed! I made a 5:30 reservation over the phone but upon walking in, we were told we weren't in the book and there were no tables available even though we saw plenty throughout. After checking with a restaurant many get confused with, the host found our reservation under 6:30 but we were luckily seated right away with no problem after that. The waiter was super nice, which we feel is so important for a great experience. The complimentary Tuscan bread that we had was served warm and fluffy with a delicious Parmesan cheese, olive oil, and vinegar blend that I couldn't stop eating. We were offered another slice of bread when we polished ours off. Our food was very good as well and I had the red snapper, while A had the filet mignon. We didn't have room for dessert and we were too early to enjoy the sunset but it was a great dinner to celebrate our third anniversary. read more

We were really excited to dine here. I researched all day and decided on this establishment. When I called for a reservation, I was informed that they do not allow children. I was disappointed, but would have been okay with it if the woman who answered the phone had politely told me that children under 13 were not allowed. We were visiting from out of town (out of state), but in the process of moving to the area (we now live here). I asked for a reservation for 3 adults and one child. I was informed that children were not allowed. I was disappointed, but would have been okay with it if she would have politely informed me of their policy. A simple,"I am so sorry, we do not allow for children under the age of 13" would have been acceptable. Instead, I received, what I felt like was a brash and irritated remark, "Ma'am, we do not allow children". I later check their website, and it does state their "no children under 13 policy", but it took me quite a bit of time and digging around to find it. read more

I have lived on the emerald coast for many years and after multiple attempts at trying the "new" Beach Walk, I can honestly say I will never go back. Upon arriving, I was greeted with an overwhelming synthetic scent--perhaps perfume or air freshener? The view IS beautiful, but the room is decorated like that of a moderate priced chain hotel. The wine list is lacking (I could write an entire review simply on this topic). Service was good, but the food was down right pitiful. The salads were DRENCHED in dressing. My entree snapper was dry and overcooked. The "Cajun cream sauce" was bland and boring. No amount of salt could help it out--yet there was no salt on the table because apparently the chef feels his food is perfectly seasoned. Steak was decent. Honestly, I don't know how this restaurant has received such good reviews. It is flavorless, overpriced food. I don't mind paying for fine dining, but this is NOT a fine dining establishment. Go there for a drink at sunset and go elsewhere for dinner. read more

Loved everything about this place! Such an adorable inn and restaurant. Complimentary valet parking. The service was stellar and friendly. The restaurant was great. We came for a 7:30 sunset dinner and got seated, per request, inside with a great view. They do have a large patio upper deck with plenty of seating, both for small intimate settings and big groups! Not a bad seat in the house. Our waitress started us with fresh, warm Tuscany bread and poured us an olive oil and balsamic over an herbed grated Parmesan cheese blend. It was so good but I was determined not to fill on bread (one advantage to the single serve vs the table bread basket). We chose the Kung pao shrimp to start. The chef prefers to get your full order at once and time the entire meal. He did so perfectly! The app was amazing and puts any PF Chang or the like to shame! You get 3 giant butterfly shrimp (see photo). For the main course, I selected the pecan crusted Grouper Vince atop of a perfectly crisped potato cake. Hubs went for the ribeye med/rare, served with mashed potatoes and yummy baby carrots. We both added the "chef John" which had a great jalapeño sauce and 2 jumbo shrimp (yes, I went overboard with my eye for shrimp and gave the second d away, but the sauce was a great addition!). We also included the truffle Mac n cheese. Great if you love truffle. Very rich. Of course it was plenty to share for 2 or even 4. We unfortunate didn't finish it off as we stoves to save room for dessert. Good thing I only had 1 piece of bread! Ohhh dessert! I was sold on ice cream and went with the corleone and hubs ordered up the cheesecake of the day, which came with peach toppings and whipped. Both were great but I like my cheesecake really cold and they serve theirs more room temp. The back has a great atmosphere including a fire pit and rockers & hammocks for relaxing. Beach Walk at Henderson Park was one restaurant we were looking forward to visiting. What a wonderful property. Our server was efficient and was there for all questions. One disappointment was while we had the specials presented to us, prices were never disclosed. While price point is never a consideration to us, it's better if the waitstaff discloses the cost. That being said, specials were off the table as a result. My wife ordered the salmon and I had the tuna. Both were prepared perfectly and were delicious. We shared a dessert which was more than we could consume. The only sticking point is that when we left, I received a call stating that the restaurant had a problem with my AMEX. It was swiped and was noted as a MasterCard. We drove back to the restaurant and I paid cash in order to honor my responsibility. My AMEX, supposedly was zeroed out. Upon my return home, I noticed my AMEX acct has the charge still associated with my evening out. So I'll be battling this for a bit as I've paid twice for our dinner. A wonderful evening, but with some glitches which tarnished the experience. read more

I loved having my birthday dinner here! It was cozy, not too loud and the service was so personable. We were even greeted by their new general manager before the end of our dinner, and I saw him go to each and every table in the restaurant after. The food was decadent and delicious! I always love getting the Beach Walk filet, and the crab cakes. Both filled me up just enough so that I still had room for dessert! While they had a special chocolate soufflé that night, I was in the mood for something tangy and went with the Key Lime pie. So good and had the perfect sweetness! While they are know for their wine selection, don't be afraid to order on of their cocktails off the menu. They were just as good as the bottle of wine we had with our entrees. read more

Best dining in destin in my opinion. First off the location and atmosphere is unbeatable. It's a very intimate setting. If your going I strongly suggest getting a table outside. Although in a busy area you seem secluded, prefect spot for a romantic dinner. There is also the option for a private one table dinner on the beach. The food itself is outstanding, the kitchen seems to be very talented. We ordered a crab and eggplant appetizer with a lobster cream sauce, very rich and decadent. For an entree we orderd the venison rouladen special and the raw tuna. The venison was very good like a fine steak, not gamy at all. It was stuffed with mushrooms which made it very savory, was seasoned well. The tuna was prepared perfect with a very light sear. It was flavorful, fresh and light, everything I look for in a tuna dish such as this. All in all one of the best dinning experiences I have encountered. The price is rather high but considering the atmosphere view and quality of food it is justified. read more

I enjoy dining at fine dining restaurants on special occasions and had wanted to take my wife here for several years. For our third anniversary we finally visited this place. Normally I find the food at restaurants like this to be enjoyable but not over the top. Seriously: the food at Beachwalk was simply the best of any fine dining restaurant I have ever been to. The presentation was awesome, the flavors were amazing and I felt like I received a great value for the money I spent. Ya gotta try this place! We had a stellar experience here. The place had been suggested by a few people as your serious/romantic dinner for the trip and I can see why. First making a reservation was simple. It was the weekend before the 4th and I figured I would have to wait until a week night but Sunday we were able to get our spot. There are 3 options: In the restaurant, on the back deck and down on the beach. I am there for the outdoors so obviously that ruled out the restaurant but the rain was too risky for the toes in the sand so we went for the back deck. I believe his name is Dustin, did a great job. Very friendly, juggled multiple demanding tables well (one table was a guy trying to propose so Dustin was trying to help him out by suggesting they move down by the fire pit, etc). He did the same for us, relocating us to the patio closer to the beach for dessert (didnt need the whole table) and then suggesting we finish our wine on the swing on the beach). The food was great. Everything was tasty. I will be honest and say that if you are judging the place solely on the food for the price you might be a little disappointed. I'm not saying it isn't 4 star food, its that the 5 star prices might shock you. But keep in mind, you aren't just paying for the food. We devoured the crab cake, she had the tuna special, and i had the shrimp & grits. All were executed well and they did the best job of cleaning the shrimp of any place I've been to in the area (kind of a big deal for someone OCD like myself). For the two of us it ended up around $200 but that was for a great 2.5 hour experience. Valet even had my car front and center so no waiting when we are done (no lot, valet only but its complimentary so you just need a tip). Our waiter told us about the hotel/resort and, based on the restaurant experience, has me likely booking a room there. Its adults only (plus for me). read more

Never been treated that badly in my whole life Decided to take my mother-in-law for a lovely brunch experience. Unfortunately, we had the audacity to bring our two-year-old with us. Only after we showed up, (we booked our table three weeks in advance) were we told, quite rudely, that little children are not welcomed at this snobby establishment. They were willing to sit us, but mentioned that if our son will have any "incidents" we would be asked to leave. Because other people "pay a lot of money" and we were not to disturb them. I guess its only fair, considering we wouldn't be paying for our three adult brunches???????? The final straw was when our table turned out to be in an uncovered area in the searing Florida sun. Never mind that we had a two-year-old with us, and placing a toddler in an unprotected environment like that is almost criminal. No-one else sat close in the sun, so I suppose we were not allowed to sit close to the precious "pay a lot of money"-guests. When we asked for another table in the shade, the host claimed he had none.  By then my mother-in-law (a Miramar Beach local) had had enough and declined their "gracious" offer. When he was escorting us out, I saw at least three vacant four-top tables in the shade. They bullied us into leaving. Being from Germany and having dined all over Europe, I have to say I've been to some "fine dining" establishments, but this is the "ONLY" one that has treated us, as paying customers, in such a disgusting and cruel manner. I don't know what kind of hideous person would put a little child in danger of getting a heat stroke. Disgusted. read more

Based on our previous visits I would have given the Beachwalk 5 stars but unfortunately based on tonights meal I'm forced to lower the rating to 4. The meal was amazing, just like last time, but the service tonight was so SLOOOOW. It took a good 15 minutes before our waiter came to the table to give us water, and then it was another 20 minutes before we received our drinks. We didn't receive our salads until 1 hour after being seated. Once we received our food things were great, we loved our entrees and the manager came by to buy us drinks to apologize for the wait. Would definitely come back based on the food and the view to see if they can improve the service. Hoping that tonight was just an "off" night. read more

Reserved an outside table with Vicki and she made it perfect for my Mother's Day/mother's bday dinner. Even better than expected thanks to Brianna, our waitress with perfect recommendations and memorized specials as well as exact answers to any questions. The food was a little slower to come out but we could have cared less for the extra time to take in the sunset and the wait was worth it because the food was unbelievable. For upper scale dining this place was extremely comfortable and laid back just enough to enjoy a nice night without being stuffy or rigid. Prices were similar to those of loud and trendy restaurants in the area but this place has higher quality food and service as well as a mature beach experience. The views were spectacular and only eclipsed by top notch cuisine and service. Very impressed! Beachwalk cafe is bookmarked on my iPad and open table as a place to never skip when I'm in Destin, FL. Tip: call for your reservation rather than rely only on the online apps. They appreciate the effort and you may get better time slots around sunset especially. They also can customize your experience better. Vicki was extremely helpful in what I wanted from this dining experience and was very reasonable with me because I was reasonable in my requests. We just finished dinner at the Beach Walk Cafe. Every aspect of the dining experience has been planned and executed well. We started with an appetizer of Fried Green Tomatoes, my wife had the Shrimp and Grits for her entree and I had the Beach Walk Filet with Lobster Mac n Cheese and Asparagus. Dessert consisted of the Macadamia ice cream and the Blueberry Cheesecake. My wife literally said, "oh my god, that's so delicious!" If you can get her to say something like that, it's must be good. I was really excited to go here. All the reviews were so great and the atmosphere is beautiful. Disappointing that we sat for 22 minutes before being asked if we wanted a drink. (We were given water). Our server was nice but don't think she took us real seriously. Anyway, we order shrimp cocktail. Shrimp were good size but not anything more special than all the other restaurants around. We also ordered pan seared snapper. We split it , which we've done entire trip. The fish was good but not hot when delivered. Small pieces of squash on plate were good but not what I expected. Bread brought to table was really good. Told them we had special night and they brought a piece of key lime pie over. Maybe I was expecting too much but I was disappointed. Little too foo foo for me. I've been a lot of fancy places. A restaurant located inside an inn with a New England appearance overlooking the white sandy beaches. This is the ultimate date spot! The restaurant is only open for 3 hours and seating is limited. Reservations are highly recommended, however my husband are there last night (6/21/16), on our anniversary, and called to ask if our reservation could be changed from 6:30 to 7:30 because we were behind schedule. Marsha was glad to help us out and we are very glad she was able to accommodate us. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The only downside with the outdoor is that if it starts to downpour, even with an overhead barrier, someone at the table could get drenched and the restaurant may not be able to sit you inside if they have a full house. I appreciate this advice that was given to me ahead of time when asked my seating preference. The restaurant's attention to detail in every aspect helps to make everyone feel special here. As a complimentary item to "wet the appetitive" my husband and I were given grouper ceviche and this was refreshing. We were also given fresh baked bread with an olive oil, Cheese and herb, and balsamic mixture. They ask if you want balsamic added and I recommend doing this. That "bite" with the cheese and herb oil concoction was unlike any oil dip we have had and it was remarkable. My husband ordered the smoked tomato dip with shrimp and the presentation was 5*. Out came the bowl with diced shrimp at the bottom and at the table is where our waiter (Frank) poured the smoked tomato purée over the shrimp. It was tasty. I had the chilled melon soup and it was crisp, fresh, and light. I chose the seared peppercorn crusted tuna with daikon served over saffron rice with mandarin oranges (3) and my husband chose the Grouper Vince and this grouper was crusted to perfection and the sweet honey Worcestershire sauce over the fish and the mashed potato croquette was delicious. We tried the Corleone, vanilla ice cream coated with white and dark chocolate and cinnamon, and the key lime pie; softest key lime pie I have ever had. My husband and I felt the cinnamon was a little too strong and while my husband liked the key lime pie (made fresh in house) I didn't care too much for it. BWC offers a chocolate dessert of the day as well as a cheese cake of the day. At the end of our meal, a Rose was given to us (complimentary). In fact, throughout our dinner a rose was given to every female in the restaurant. We started and ended the evening feeling special by this restaurants attention to detail and spectacular service. Overwhelmed by how perfect everything is at this beautiful bed and breakfast. We wanted a sunset view for dinner and not only did we get a phenomenal view, we got a rainbow in the sky overlooking the ocean as well. You'll want to dress up for this place and celebrate a special occasion. Majestical enough to have a wedding here and there's an altar set up facing the sunset. The food was expensive but we had no regrets about a single bite, from the wine, appetizers, salad, entree, mac n' cheese side dish, or especially the chocolate oreo cheesecake. To appreciate the food here, you need to have drunk a lot of alcohol before arrival or drink a lot of wine and booze with your dinner or maybe both. Unfortunately, I didn't drink any alcohol and I found my meal to be unremarkable. I ordered the seared local snapper and an appetizer of eggplant and crab meat. The snapper was overcooked not seared. I did enjoy the oyster mushrooms and edible orchid as well as the grilled asparagus that I ordered instead of the potato. But I was disappointed with the overcooked fish. The eggplant and crabmeat appetizer did nothing for me either. I was looking forward to my dessert of banana cream pie. Unfortunately, another disappointment. The banana cream pie here consists of whipped cream and bananas in a pastry shell with drizzles of caramel syrup and a heavy sprinkling of nutmeg. Really? How much work does it take to make that? Now onto the ambience. We were surrounded by several tables filled with loud speaking people, some of whom were drunk and others who appeared to be getting to that stage. This is not a quiet restaurant when the tables are filled with loud talking alcohol drinking customers. The most positive aspect of the restaurant is the outstanding valet service. Polite and quick. I'm glad that there is a heated covered space outside for the valet to shelter in during inclement weather. read more

My steak was one of the best I've had in months and my wife's sea bass was flakey and delicious. Everything hit the spot. They even brought her a rose at the end of the meal. All around winner. Disappointed. Had the BBQ shrimp and grits. They reduce the bbq to almost a paste. Much much too strong, ruined the dish, not to mention the grits were like wall plaster. To add insult to injury the sausage was over-cooked and burnt too. Moreover, my daughters entree (crab cake and eggplant) was ruined by yet another pungent sauce. One should never leave with an upset stomach, and we did. Too pricey for the end result. Very disappointed for all the hype and cost. read more
