We had the best stay here! We were welcomed by the host Kathie with a friendly smile and willingness to help. She showed us to our room and we were very impressed. This boutique hotel is quaint and offers rooms that are updated with attention to detail. The room we had was cozy, clean and comfortable. The kitchenette had a small fridge, microwave and was stocked with paper goods, coffee, tea and creamers. The fireplace offered a little extra warmth & comfort for us! The off street private parking was a bonus. All 7 rooms are on the 2nd level, no elevator but not an issue for us. We felt at home here and will definitely come back if we are ever in the area again. Highly recommend, hopefully you'll have a chance to be hosted by Kathie!

If you want to watch the beautiful sunset, you can walk over to the beach. Restaurants and shopping is all walking distance.

The manager was super friendly..The room.we stayed in was super cute. It had a cottage vibe to it. It was smaller than other hotel rooms, still very cute. The bed and pillows were amazing. I will definitely stay here again.

I am a long time guest of the Beachcomber Inn, Room 7 is my go to. During my stay in late December 2023 I posted a detailed review, at least 3 different people also stayed at the Beachcomber Inn based on my detailed review. I am appalled to read the recent post from a "Lisa W". I knew Grace, she was there for a number of years and was always so personable, the next gentleman Innkeeper referred to as "odd" helped me during my December stay. I have only encountered Kathie over the phone. She was pleasant when talking with her when the phone was finally answered, most of my calls went to a recording and on one visit to town, I thought I would just stop by, there was no one there covering the desk rather a handwritten note from Kathie saying she'd be back at a certain time, that time came and went, no Kathie, so I just decided to stay elsewhere. I happen to know the owner Leanne, we are from the same small town, "scattered" she is here, there and everywhere so, ok I can see maybe referring to her as scattered, but "self absorbed", "narcissistic" please this is not the Leanne that I know and love, AT ALL. Furthermore, the "Odd" man (yes I know his first name but I refuse to mention it) that took care of the Inn during that December stay was truly a gentleman. He carried my bags to my room and absolutely refused my tip, and as far as selling edibles, please, this cannot be the same guy Lisa W is referring to though I do not know of any other gentleman having run the Beachcomber. Clearly this review is retaliation, and I am willing to bet "Lisa W" is a close friend or family member, a daughter perhaps? This type of thing is not cool and if you take the time to read it, you can see its very little about their stay at the Inn rather it is all about character assassination in a half ditched effort to drive business away. Clearly if all was well with Kathie's performance, she wouldn't need to be replaced. Shoot Grace was at the Inn for years and years, not sure why guy #2 moved on, but having read this review, it has "RETALIATION" written all over it. Surely Yelp has a protocol when it comes to these things, I hope Leanne gets it removed, this is so unfair.

The Seacrest Ocean Front hotel is an absolute gem. From making the reservations over the phone to check in, the customer service was great. This hotel is very well kept and has free parking. However it does share with a restaurant at the entrance of the driveway so it can get full at times. Luckily, we were always able to find a place after coming back from a day of exploring. Beds were comfortable and the deck was perfect. We even had a seagull perched on the ledge on our last day. But let's talk about the view. It was absolutely STUNNING and worth every penny. This hotel does not have an on-site restaurant or bar, but you can get room service from the restaurant at the top of the parking lot. They also have a a bartender working outside of the lobby and she was so nice! Friendly and funny and just a great attitude. They offer $10 towards room service or drinks daily, which was nice and parking is free! The grounds are manicured beautifully and they have a pool and two hot tubs which were always in use. They also have several lawn games and direct access to the beach. I've never felt sand so soft under my toes. Next time we'll bring our beach chairs and make a full beach day of it. I absolutely loved this hotel and will definitely be coming back.

We have so many great memories here, so we were excited to come back after the renovation. The rooms look beautiful, and the updated decor is a big improvement. Everything feels fresh and modern. But at the same time, it feels like the hotel lost the warm, family-friendly feeling it used to have. The biggest change for us was breakfast. We really miss the old breakfast buffet. Now it's more like a marketplace, and you have to walk across to another area to eat. It also gets very crowded because it's shared with other hotels. It feels like the hotel is focusing more on generating revenue than creating a great experience for families. I understand it's a business, but the family atmosphere is what made us keep coming back. Another thing we noticed was the shampoo and conditioner. Both my daughter and I had our eyes burn while using them, and we ended up rinsing them out right away and using our own shampoo instead. It may just be the products they use, but I wanted to mention it in case others have had the same experience. I was also sad to see that the playground is gone. That was one of the things our family loved most, and it made the hotel feel like a place designed for kids and parents to enjoy together. Overall, the renovations are beautiful, but I hope the hotel brings back some of the family charm that made Pismo Lighthouse Suites such a special place for us.

It isn't a huge selection, but with so many stores nearby, it wasn't an issue. Stayed at the Shore Cliff Hotel for the weekend and unfortunately, the hotel construction is still…read morein progress and is now estimated to be completed in May of this year. Because of the construction the checkin desk is just inside the door adjacent to the tiny elevator. I was standing at the check-in desk and it is so close to the automatic doors that they just stayed open and it was cold outside. The luggage carts need to be updated. This sound trivial but they are so small, old/worn and don't have hook at the top to hang anything which would have helped given how small they are. Once we checked in I asked about a luggage cart as there were none to be found and the check-in clerk was kind enough to radio the cleaning staff to see if anyone left a cart in a hallway or in their room when they checked-out (I was told it happens). Shortly thereafter a member of staff came running by me in the lobby and took the elevator upstairs. Little did I know it was to get me a luggage cart that was found my cleaning staff. I was grateful for the effort and made my way to the room. I paid for a Deluxe Pier & Ocean View. I would suggest you get an Ocean View and skip the Pier View. Our room was the farthest most away from the ocean front of the hotel and so I had a good view of the neighboring hotel and could hear the children playing in the pool...not very relaxing and was louder than the ocean waves. The other complaint was that on the 2nd floor, where my room was located, my door was immediately next to the breezeway or walkway that is completely open to the breakfast area below so each morning I heard people in the breakfast area. I saw a door that could be shut to separte the walkway from the guestrooms but it was open for my entire visit. The elevators are extremely small and only 1 luggage cart and 2 people would fit. It is very old, slow and needs to be replaced. While I didn't use it the pool is heated and kept very clean. They offer electric bikes for rent with the first hour free. For the cost of this hotel I would have expected updated rooms or a lower price. I am looking forward to when the construction is complete as I would like to check out the new rooms.

Parking Nightmare and Unacceptable Bird Feces Problem…read more I've stayed at Shore Cliff Hotel many times over the years, and I'm sad to say the property has progressively gotten worse. This stay was enough to convince me we won't be back. Self parking was a major issue. The spaces are too small for the size of vehicles most guests drive, making it a hassle every single day just to park without door dings or scraped bumpers. The bigger problem was the complete lack of bird control. Bird feces covered nearly every outdoor surface, railings, walkways, patio furniture, all of it. The smell was so bad it lingered across the property and made it impossible to enjoy the outdoor spaces we specifically paid extra for with an ocean view room. What's the point of paying a premium for a view you can't sit outside and enjoy? To add insult to injury, the resort fee felt like a joke. The fire pits were out of order, and something as basic as coffee wasn't included. If you're going to charge a "resort fee," the property needs to actually function like a resort. Charging extra for the bare minimum, while ignoring maintenance issues like this, is not acceptable. Given how many other hotel options exist nearby in Pismo Beach, we will not be booking here again. It's disappointing to watch a place we once loved decline like this.

Every staff member I came into contact with was professional and more than friendly. The room was well appointed and very comfortable. It was loaded with seating and fire pits and sun umbrellas and was a great place to sit and chill with a drink and good friends. The price was extreme, but I chalked that up to car show gouging. The hotel restaurant was okay. Nothing special and featured mostly Hispanic styled dishes. In the evenings they sell Smores kits so you can make them while you sit by the fire pits. There was a pool and spa and a workout room. The surrounding town is loaded with (mostly) surf shops and good restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel for any special occasion.

When I asked about room availability, the front desk agent told me there were no rooms available. However, while standing there, I checked Marriott's website and found multiple rooms available to book immediately. When I pointed this out, she claimed the online booking inventory didn't match the hotel's actual inventory, which made no sense and felt dishonest. Rather than trying to help resolve the situation, she came across as patronizing, offering unnecessary explanations about hotel hours as if that addressed the issue. The interaction felt dismissive from start to finish. To make matters worse, she offered a 2:00 p.m. late checkout because I'm a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum member, but then made a point of telling me she was not offering the 4:00 p.m. late checkout because she wasn't required to honor that benefit for Bonvoy members. It felt unnecessarily confrontational and came across as though she wanted to emphasize what she didn't have to do rather than provide good hospitality. Great hotels are remembered for exceptional service, especially when something doesn't go as planned. Unfortunately, this experience was the opposite. I've stayed at many Marriott properties, and this was one of the poorest customer service experiences I've encountered. I hope management reviews how guests are treated, because no one should leave feeling dismissed and misled.

The highlight was definitely soaking in the hot tub while listening to the waves -- such a relaxing experience. The front desk staff was fantastic -- friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. My only two minor complaints: the hot tub wasn't quite as deep as I personally would have liked, and our room was directly below the restaurant bar area on the third floor. In the mornings, we could hear dishes and some banging as they were setting up for the day, which woke us up earlier than we planned. If you're a light sleeper, I'd recommend requesting a room on the end of the hotel or away from the restaurant area. Overall, we would absolutely stay again -- the view and location are hard to beat.
