Perfect location, in the heart of Pismo! We loved that we did not have to drive around looking for parking, because everything was within walking/skateboarding distance. However, the parking spaces are VERY compact so be advised of that. Modern, spotless room we loved the decor. I only knocked off a few stars for the tiny bathroom and both beds squeaked with every move, that was the only difficult part for our family of 4. But that was in Room 3, so we are willing to try another room next time because of the perfect location and the gracious host welcomed us so warmly. We appreciated the kind note from the hostess saying thank you for being such fab guests too. read more

We stayed here over the Memorial weekend and loved everything about it! Grace is super friendly and welcoming and made us feel right at home. The location is perfect - although there is no view of the beach, it is just steps away, along with all the shops, restaurants, etc. The room was very cozy, the kitchenette very spacious and had everything you'll ever need. We stayed at the Beachcomer on our way back to northern Cali. This place is every bit as nice as the Doubletree we stayed at in L.A. The bed was comfortable, nice homey atmosphere, and the designer thought of everything! From a soap/shampoo/conditioner dispenser in the shower, to a Keurig coffee machine in the kitchenette. We would recommend this place to anyone we know! Can't wait to go back and spend more than 1 night! read more

I really want to love this place, and I do. I think our recent room (second from the street) could use new beds. They are not comfortable, they are lumpy and the great sheets don't matter if the bed needs a new mattress. The amenities here are wonderful, but we didn't sleep well after a day spent at the beer fest. read more

What a fabulous place to stay! We stayed here for a couple of nights on our way back home from a drive up the coast to Monterey. The 72 degree weather was so refreshing compared to the desert The exterior looks like any other inn or motel in this area but the interior is incredibly charming and beautiful. It has crown molding throughout the room, queen bed, granite counter tops, microwave, fridge,cherry hardwood floors, bronze fixtures and satellite TV! Not that you even need tv since it is located one block from the beach, yummy clam chowder and hoagies. It felt like my very own studio apartment complete with every amenity you could possibly think of including a wine bottle opener to enjoy our favorite bottle of wine. Grace the innkeeper is the best! She is funny, friendly, welcoming, and gave us great recommendations about where to eat during our stay. We can't wait to come back to this amazing inn! read more

So great! One of the nicest places I have had the pleasure of staying over! This was one of the sweetest, coziest, most comfortable AND most organized places I've had the pleasure of staying in. From my first phone conversation with the lovely proprietor to our very last encounter as we were leaving, it was 100% a positive experience. The room was delightful, spotless, and filled with amenities. The little fireplace was so cute. And they even went an extra mile--when the proprietor heard I had a cold, she left extra boxes of the GOOD tissues in our room to let me know she was thinking of me. Anyone who's ever been sick on vacation a) knows what the good tissues are and b) will understand how such a small gesture can have a huge impact. AWESOME! We stayed here for a few days and it was perfect. My husband and two little children so we got room# 1, had a king bed with plenty of room for the pack n play. The bed was so comfortable, the room had every amenity we needed. Everything in that room was pristine. The innkeeper Grace was a delight. We even got a Thank you card after our visit. My two early twenty daughters were traveling up the coast and needed a place to stay. I called ahead and spoke to Grace and how I was concerned that they had a nice place to stay. Well, she went above and beyond and even called me when they arrived. I asked her if she would keep an eye on them for me. Later my daughters said they had an awesome time and felt very welcome. That's all a father asks. Take care of my kids and they did. They even sent me a nice card letting me know that my daughters behaved very well and they were a joy to have stay. Next time going up the coast I won't waste so much time trying to find a nice, friendly place to stay. Don't waste your time either...just go straight to this place. My wife and I we're pleasantly surprised at what we discovered at this hotel. We frequently visit the area and have noticed it many times. Our first stay was nothing short of a great experience. It's conveniently close to the beach, shopping, pier, and food. If your looking for an easy way to relax and stay close, this place is nicely positioned right near all the Pismo favorites. You can walk everywhere in just a few minutes. The staff was personable and friendly and immediately made us feel like we'd been friends for years. When we entered our room for the first time we were both pleased with the cleanliness, decor, the convenience of the kitchenette, and most of all the comfort of the entire room. In addition to our amazingly comfortable king size bed, the room included a TV, small refrigerator, two ceiling fans, a small siting area with chairs and a small dining table. The fire place is a small wall insert but the structure of it is like an art piece that adds to the rooms artistic aura. The room was decorated and structured to have an upscale feel but pricing was very reasonable! It even has a romantic feel. Overall, it was just perfect for our two night getaway. We will certainly be back! Loved it. You will too!! read more

The Beachcomber Inn was a great place to stay while visiting Pismo Beach. Our room was very clean and was stocked with everything that we would need! The bed was very comfortable, there was a Keurig coffee maker, a mini fridge, a kitchen sink, a microwave, and the bathroom was nice! Grace was very friendly. It was only a short walk from the beach, pier, and downtown shops and restaurants. There was always enough parking. Free Wifi! We will definitely be back! read more

I took a chance and booked a weekend here based on the Yelp reviews and it paid off. We stayed in room #2 and it was absolutely adorable. It had everything we needed including the kinds of things that you tend to forget when you do your packing (q-tips, cotton swabs, make up remover...). It really was a perfect set up and our room even had a Keurig machine with an assortment of beverages handy. The location is tough to beat as you are a block from damn near everything you need. Grace is the most awesome hostess and her quick wit was incredibly refreshing- very cool. I'll be back for sure and I'd recommend this spot to anyone. read more

Each room is beautiful, beds are super comfy and kitchen is pretty well stocked. My husband and I absolutely love this place!! We went there for the first time 2years ago for our anniversary and is now a tradition for us. My husband stays there when he is in town for work and we stay there whenever we can. What a wonderful little gem. Don't let the exterior dissuade you, not much to look at but if you want beautiful accommodations with great and personal service this is the place for you. The rooms are so beautiful with an obvious eye for detail going into the remodel. I was beyond surprised and pleased. Beautiful hardwood floors, no creepy carpet, that you find in most Hotels. The cabinetry had a finished carpenters touch, beautiful and well done throughout. The tile and stone work was what you would typically find in a nice house. Charming all around, in a very good way. The kitchen was stocked with some basic amenities, even the sink was a hammered metal sink in bronze with stunning granite counter tops; bathroom, kitchenette, even a small cafe table with cute chairs. They even provides a basket of packaged danishes in the morning, on the balcony. along with fresh cut flowers, very nice touch. I must comment on the bathroom. They not only had the usual necessities, but they were provided in a very nice basket. I even felt as though the basket had been pondered. I just thought that was another nice touch that someone had to think about not simply put out there. There was plenty of shelving to put your things under the sink so you didn't have to work around that usual mess of things we bring with us. Beautiful shutters covered the windows too. The entire room made me feel like home. I'm not one that likes the carpet and drapes in rooms because you never know what's on them which brings me to the bedding. If the overall details don't impress you, don't know how they wouldn't, the handmade quilt was not only beautiful but it appeared to be very clean:) I've stayed at a lot of hotels over the years mostly 4 & 5 star and this little place had one of the best rooms I've ever stayed in. They do not have all the amenities that all of the bigger chains have but you are right there in Pismo Beach and if you are there, you are not there to hang at a pool. It will make it more difficult to get going in the morning though because the rooms are so nice and relaxing. The cons, the parking is a bit right BUT they provide off street parking. read more

This place is adorable and looked newly renovated. The room is clean and the bed is super comfortable. I stayed at Room 7 for 1 night as we were just passing through. You can use anything thats in the kitchen (plastic utensils, tea, coffee, paper towels, etc.) which has a sink and microwave. The owner brings out chocolate in the afternoon near the ice machine. The fireplace heater is nice to use at night and early morning when it gets colder. There is no airconditioning but you can just open the windows to let the ocean breeze cool the room. For the person claiming there is a flea infestation, it is the central coast. Fleas are common there due to the weather. Meaning, they are everywhere and you might have brought it in yourself from the beach. During my stay, I didn't have any problems. You can hear the noise outside (construction) but its calms after 9pm. Also, if you're planning to take a nap, the windows have shutters instead of curtains so it doesnt completely block out the sunlight. read more

Another years stay at the Beachcomber Inn and again a wonderful experience. The inn keeper Grace in wonderful and very accommodating. They didn't need to but a few improvements were made in the past year. The new filtered water dispenser outside our room was great for filling our water bottles with clean cold water for our walks on the beach. The coffee and pastries in the morning are a welcome touch as is the candies that appeared in the evening right outside our room. As usual the bed was oh so comfortable and the bedding is not your usual scratchy fair, it is soft a smooth. We will be back for our yearly stay in Pismo for sure. read more

This hotel is beautiful! Greatly enjoyed my overnight stay. They really cover all the personal touches and things you wouldn't expect from a hotel. There was a small kitchen in our room and in the cabinets were things like paper plates and extra forks and spoons; the stuff you would normally have to go out and buy during a stay. The room was soooo cute and comfortable. It was clean, warm, and welcoming. There was nothing plastic or cut-out about it. The hotel manager Grace was wonderful and accommodating. It truly is a gem of a hotel right in the middle of everything you would possibly want to see. read more

My fiancé and I needed a place to stay for a weekend beach wedding. We chose the beachcomber because it was close to the beach (and wedding location), in the best part of town, and at an unbeatable price. When I called, Grace was really personable and assured us that we would enjoy our stay. She wasn't kidding-we were beyond impressed with the beautiful room. It was furnished more like a home than a hotel, with shiny wood floors, a beautiful headboard, granite countertops, etc. It was incredible clean. I usually won't walk barefoot in hotels and check the bed for bugs, but I felt comfortable enough to not worry about that here. I especially appreciated the amenities that you don't get at ordinary hotels-face makeup wipes, kids hand/face wipes, and a Keurig equipped with an assortment of K-cups (that was awesome to have good coffee first thing in the morning when my fiancé was still sleeping and I was ready for my coffee.) There was a spout for purified water so I could fill my Klean Kanteen and not waste plastic water bottles like you usually end up doing on vacation. Television was equipped with directv and I believe it had all the channels. Some people on here have complained about noise at night-we didn't have any issues with noise. We probably went to bed around 10 both nights and slept like babies. No continental breakfast, but grace put out locally made, pre-wrapped muffins in a bowl outside the rooms. It was a very personal experience. It's my new favorite place to stay. read more
