On the walk to the beach...
    Mama W.

Excellent location, beautiful place to stay for the week. The fireplace is absolutely wonderful when we were there, cold & rainy days & nights. Love the washer & dryer, stove& fridge perfect for a couple. The beach is basically 100 steps away, a nice short walk then you're on the boardwalk or in the sand. The only downside was had trouble getting unto the internet.

This is one of WorldMark's smallest resorts. I believe it's 18 units and you check in at the Sea Venture resort next door. A giant plus is that this location is walking distance from the pier and many local restaurants. No need to pay for parking at the public lots! It's a little on the small side so you'll have to move the dining table out of the way in order to pull out the Murphy bed. I was very impressed with the strength of the water pressure in the shower since most other resorts I've been to had weak pressure (which means longer showers to wash out the shampoo out of my hair). The walls are pretty thin so I was able to hear our neighbor in the next unit snoring at night. My only peeve is that the bathroom door gets caught on one of the bedroom double doors so you pretty much have to keep one of the bedroom doors closed.

Very popular Worldmark timeshare. And these are all one-bedrooms and they're very well-equipped. Full size kitchen, Shared Bbqs, Murphy bed in dining area. The Internet is relatively fast and lite reception on T-Mobile is fair. It's only a stones throw to the water and Pismo beach restaurants. Check out Splash restaurant for their clam chowder, Jacko's in Nipono for Spencer steak, Ember for Italian and Izakaya Raku, Fruitland La Casa Del Sabor and Lil bits for breakfast. The only downside to this timeshare is that you have to book in almost a year in advance and for reservation.

Nice clean rooms and steps away from the Beach. Walking distance from boardwalk and many restaurants.

Wow -- just wow. After a 7-hour drive from Northern…read moreCalifornia, we had a terrible experience at a nearby Airbnb and were honestly ready to scrap the trip and head home. As a last-ditch effort, we stopped at Dolphin Bay around 2 AM hoping for a room. Jacob at the front desk completely turned our night around. He jumped into action, got us settled quickly, and went above and beyond to take care of us despite our unexpected arrival. His level of service was incredible. We woke up the next morning to a stunning ocean view and realized we had stumbled into something special. What started as one of the worst travel experiences quickly became one of the best. The one-bedroom suite was incredibly spacious, the food was delicious both at the restaurant and through in-room dining (we tried both), and everything arrived quickly without long wait times. The valet team handled everything with care and urgency, and every employee we encountered was attentive and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. What stood out most was the General Manager, Erica. She was everywhere -- helping at the front desk, assisting guests, in the restaurant, at the pool, even parking cars -- all with a smile on her face. That kind of leadership is rare, and it clearly shows in the culture of the entire staff. Even though the property was fully booked during our stay, it never once felt crowded or chaotic, and the staff never seemed behind or overwhelmed -- which says a lot about how well this place is run. This trip was especially meaningful for us because it was one of the rare times we've traveled without our six kids -- and the entire time we were there, we kept saying how we can't wait to come back with them and make this our new family vacation spot. We're beyond grateful for this experience and will absolutely be back.

We stayed in a first-floor ocean view room since we had a service animal, and the room size was great. The grounds are well-kept, there's convenient beach access, and I loved that they have an adults-only hot tub--that was a nice touch. The person who checked us in was also very kind and welcoming, which set a great first impression. Unfortunately, things went downhill that night. Our upstairs neighbors were stomping loudly for hours. Around 8 PM, I called the front desk to let them know, and I was told they would reach out to the room--but nothing changed. By 10 PM, the noise was still going, so I called again. This time, instead of resolving the issue, I felt like we were being questioned. We were told the guests upstairs said they were already in bed, which didn't line up with what we were clearly hearing. The situation was frustrating enough that I tried to get their attention by tapping on the ceiling, which then got turned back on us as a complaint. When we asked about switching rooms, we were told the hotel was sold out and we'd have to wait until the next day--which I understand--but the way it was handled by the manager was disappointing. There was no apology, no empathy, and the tone came off dismissive and rude, which made the situation worse. I really wanted to love this place because the location and property are great, but customer service matters, especially when issues come up. Because of that experience, I'd think twice about staying here again.

Valet service for the car was great, as there isn't really anywhere else to park unless you're interested in a long walk. Every staff member I came into contact with was professional and more than friendly. The room was well appointed and very comfortable. I had a direct view of the ocean right out my sliding glass door to the private balcony off my room. There was a great outdoor sitting and entertainment area between the hotel and the beach. It was loaded with seating and fire pits and sun umbrellas and was a great place to sit and chill with a drink and good friends. The price was extreme, but I chalked that up to car show gouging. The hotel restaurant was okay. Nothing special and featured mostly Hispanic styled dishes. In the evenings they sell Smores kits so you can make them while you sit by the fire pits. There was a pool and spa and a workout room. The surrounding town is loaded with (mostly) surf shops and good restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel for any special occasion.

They even have blankets for you if you get cold as the sun starts to set. The service was out of this world outstanding. Peter and Tyler from valet were awesome! Front desk shout out to Makennia and Rakhi for helping guide me with everything at the hotel and making the experience seamless. He made the whole process easy, was genuinely kind, and even got us into a ground-floor oceanfront suite at a discounted rate, which I really appreciated. We arrived around 12:30 AM and check-in was quick and welcoming. Valet is $30 and felt reasonable. The room: Spacious, clean, and much nicer than expected. I booked for the view without really looking at photos, so waking up to the oceanfront setup was a great surprise. The suite had two queen beds, a large jetted bathtub, a separate living room space, and a private patio that's just steps from direct beach access. Also pet-friendly, which is a big plus. Why we stayed another night: Once we saw the room in daylight, it was an easy decision to extend. Small things that made a difference: 12 PM checkout (huge--no rushing out the door) Text updates about hotel activities Complimentary morning yoga on the lawn overlooking the cliff Spa access + amenities I also spent time at the spa and really enjoyed the sauna (especially the eucalyptus cooling towels) which were such a nice touch after. One thing worth noting: if you book any spa service, you get access to the pool and grounds for the day, so even if you're not staying overnight, it's a great way to enjoy the property. Service: Consistently friendly across the board. Rocky stood out for being especially kind and helpful from the start, and the gift shop staff were so sweet and welcoming to my mom (it really made an impression). Housekeeping, valet, and front desk were all great as well. One small note: The pool runs a bit warm, so it's not as refreshing as you'd want on a hot day. but still enjoyable. Overall: Relaxing stay, great service, and thoughtful touches throughout. Would absolutely come back.

Definitely functional as well as ambiance. Fire pits outside were nice and the available smores kit was so fun. Beautifully views on the walking path and access to shell beach by several stairs. Now the needs improvement: The road noise at the front of the property is pretty significant. The toilets are VERY low even as a 5'3" person with a 28 inch inseam. My 6' tall husband REALLY disliked the toilets. The temperature regulation of the system in the room seemed to struggle. We often got cold at night despite having it set at 68 which should be more than comfortable. The blankets were also lacking. Lastly, there weren't enough places to hang bathing suits or towels to dry. That was really a struggle to get anything to dry because we just didn't have hanging options. Lastly the lighting could be improved. It felt really dated with the fluorescent light fixtures "tinking" on and the dim lights at night. Wasn't too bad during the day.

The highlight was definitely soaking in the hot tub while listening to the waves -- such a relaxing experience. The front desk staff was fantastic -- friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. My only two minor complaints: the hot tub wasn't quite as deep as I personally would have liked, and our room was directly below the restaurant bar area on the third floor. In the mornings, we could hear dishes and some banging as they were setting up for the day, which woke us up earlier than we planned. If you're a light sleeper, I'd recommend requesting a room on the end of the hotel or away from the restaurant area. Overall, we would absolutely stay again -- the view and location are hard to beat.
