I loved this place. It is right by the street so it can be a little bit noisy during the weekends, but that's a small price to pay for the most cozy hotel I have ever been to. Coper sink in the kitchen and a Keurig coffee machine, a fireplace to keep you warm, and don't bother in bringing shampoo, conditioner or shower gel, there is a big dispenser in the shower. The details of the decoration are superb. Made me feel I was right at home. Also the manager is such a nice lady, she treated us like gold. read more

This hotel is located in the downtown Pismo Beach area on a very busy and noisy street. All 6 rooms of Beachcomber are only on the 2nd floor and their is no elevator. Tiny tiny bathroom and no air conditioning which means you have to leave your windows open to get fresh cool air and forcing you to listen to a noisy busy street late into the night. read more

Couldn't have been any better!!! Don't let the outside fool you! :) My new husband and I were traveling from our wedding back home and decided to stop in Pismo for the night. A little Mini-moon! ) We jumped on Yelp and found the Beachcomber Inn. And we are so glad we did! We pulled in and Grace greeted us warmly and told us we could have our pick of the rooms that night! (What a shame this adorable place wasn't filled!) We checked into our room and oooo'd and aaaah'd over how beautiful it was and all the little personal touches. The fire place, the lovely kitchenette, the bed that felt like sleeping on clouds!!! We loved it all! And my husband was very impressed with the craftsmanship of the crown molding... he notices things like that! :) we had a lovely stay and will definitely return. Great location. Small 7 unit Inn with parking underneath the 2nd floor units. No AC but you have ceiling fans and windows you can open. Quaint, clean, friendly, in room frig, coffee, microwave, DirectTv, adorably decorated and right in the heart of things...but and it's a couple of BIG buts. The parking is awful. The lot is a long narrow lot, truly looks like an old apartment setup that was converted into this adorable Inn. But you have to be able to back your vehicle into the spot without hitting a support pole, another vehicle, or the brick wall. It's beyond tight. And the worse is you are on a main cross street drag to downtown Pismo. Noise level is off the hook. Trash is picked up between 5am and 5:30am. Next day, it's delivery of food to Hoagies across the street 4:20am. Bang, clang as he is pulling out his ramps to offload food. This lasted an hour. He left and the street sweeper came through, next came the actual power washer to hand power wash the sidewalks. We had people walking by at 1:30am talking and shouting loudly, and it had settled down by 10pm until this group walked through. People on the sidewalk below you sounds as if the are right next to you. We were assigned Unit 1 which is on the street. Never had such a crappy, highly interrupted sleep in my life. This was a last minute trip over here to handle some personal business and we would have been better to have stayed elsewhere for our sleep needs. Convenient to do things, walk everywhere, you don't have to pay for parking. Would love to stay again, but seriously you need unit 5, 6 or 7 which is the back. Not sure how those would have the sound but it has to be better. Was going to come back next month for 5 days, but decided to go somewhere else because it's just too noisy. And frankly, sleep is important. It's was 7am while I'm writing this and they just finished power washing, now there is still more noise going on all along the businesses located around you. It's never ending as they prepare for a new prime season day of vacationers. So from 4:20 - now it's been nothing but noise. Please try to come during off season, it might be better. You pay around 200 bucks per night, which is cheap for downtown compared to the 400 per night at the Inn at the Pier and 700 per night Vespra wanted for their rooms. Location, location, location. Be sure and check out other review sites, Expedia, etc to see photos of the place and parking. read more

I would highly recommend this place. It's quite and couple min from everything. The rooms are remarkable and well kept. The owner I'm assuming, is hilarious and super helpful. I would definitely stay here again the beds are super comfy not like your typical hotel room. We stayed in room 7 our first night and decided to stay another so switched over to room 5. Beachcomber inn is terrific! Grace the innkeeper is so welcoming! The room was so nicely decorated. There's a mini kitchen with keurig machine and microwave and they provide you a couple plates and utensils. The bed was comfy. The bathroom was so nice and shower pressure was awesome. It felt like a really nice bedroom instead of hotel room. Downfall is no air conditioning so it was a little stuffy, but there are nice ceiling fans that were great. I would recommend to anyone and would stay here again. read more

Grace at Beach Comber Inn was the most welcoming host we could've asked for and truly made us feel like her guests! My husband and I were newlyweds traveling through Pismo Beach on our way back down to San Diego. Due to lack of planning, we found ourselves stranded and no place to stay. All the local hotels were booked all that was left was Motel 6.... yikes, not romantic! Grace was our angel and had one room left for us. The room was newly remodeled and beautiful. Have heard great things about this place and was planning to make a stay. I called to get information on booking a room and was quite displeased with my call. The woman who answered the phone was very rude and unprofessional. Upon asking a few questions she then told me that I was "asking too many questions". BEDBUGS=- n 9/22 I stayed for one night in CA- The next morning when I went to get my fitbit from under the pillow, I saw a black small bug and a blood stain- In a hurry, I did not think anymore of it. 4 days later ( which is a delayed reaction you can see online if you research bed bugs) I was covered in what my doctor and pest control professional were hundreds of bed bug bites. I contacted Grace at the hotel and she said no way! I yelped the hotel and I am not the only one. I called the San Luis Obispo Health Dept and they do not do bed bug reports/claims. How lucky for the Beachcomber. I am still considering legal action. Anyway, avoid room 7 and the Beachcomber in Pismo Beach read more

We loved this place. The kitchenette was well stocked, had a Keurig coffee maker, a variety of coffees pods, bed was ok. It is only one block from the beach and close to everything. Loved the water in the room (reverse osmosis tank), and crushed (filtered) ice. We will indeed be staying there on our next trip to Pismo Beach and will recommend this place to all our friends and family. To celebrate our anniversary, my boyfriend and I went to Pismo for the weekend and it was up to him to book the hotel. I didn't know where we were going, so when we pulled up it was dark and I was a little unsure from the outside...but as soon as we got to the door and were greeted by Grace, I knew this place would be wonderful. She was very warm and welcoming! As soon as we got to the room, I did not want to leave. As everyone has already said, the rooms are absolutely cozy and adorable and impeccably clean! There's a Keurig with an assortment of teas and coffees, mini fridge, and microwave. The bed is huge and soft. Shower has shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in a dispenser - great water pressure and hot water. Towels are white, clean and fluffy. Not a single complaint. There are only 7 rooms, so it was very quiet throughout the morning, and evening (we stayed in room six). Very close to everything in town (we didn't drive anywhere until after we checked out). The only things I'm sad about is that we only stayed one night, and after staying here I want to redecorate my entire place! I also heard they are pet friendly (for an additional $10 a night I believe) which seems well worth it to me, next time I would love to take our dog since the town seems very canine friendly! read more

My daughter and I went on a road trip up the coast for Spring break. Our stay at the Beachcomber was an awesome start. Grace was funny and good energy. She made us feel at home and gave some local tips for good places to eat. The rooms are comfortable and homey rather than the typical generic corporate style hotel. It's right in town, and a quick walk to the cool pier and heart of Pismo beach restaurants and shops. We definitely will come back when visiting again. read more

This is my new favorite hotel in Pismo Beach. I just stayed here for 5 nights and I had a wonderful time. This is truly a boutique hotel with lots of lovely extras. When I came into the room I found a candy bowl waiting for me. There were also many extra toiletries, a lap tray, everything you need for in room dining.... Grace the owner noticed that I had used the green tea for the Keurig machine so she made sure I had lots of extra green tea. The furnishings are very cute and the bed in my room was super comfy. It is clear to me that Grace really wants her guests to feel special and to enjoy their stay. I have stayed at almost all of the hotels in downtown Pismo and this is hands down the best! It also doesn't hurt that it is across the street from Hoagies which has the world's best breakfast burritos. read more

Stayed here on Dec 30 en route to L.A. with my girlfriend. This was a great place - clean rooms, surprisingly comfortable beds, decent bathrooms. Dan at reception was very helpful, gave us a wine bottle opener and everything. At $60/night we couldn't beat the value - the best western or some equivalent chain down the street was $140 for the same style accommodation. We were a 3 minute walk to the boardwalk and could see the beach from the balcony outside of our room. Will definitely stay here again. read more

I'm only giving this place 2 stars because on my scale a 3 Star motel/hotel has Wifi... Yes this place does advertises it has wifi, and it does for a few rooms. I was in room 2, and apparently if you are in rooms 1,2 or 3 you might be the out of wifi range, then are asked to connect to the restaurant across the street Hoagies and use their wifi, OR sit in the stair well and try to connect (kind of tacky) for as much as we were charged (peak season) for a room. As a business owner, simply update your wifi router so your whole complex can have wifi. However the place is VERY clean, and has a comfy bed, nice TV, spacious bathrooms. Also note there is no pool or hotub. Another good plus is its in walking distance to all the great stuff downtown, the pier, and the busiest parts of the beach. I usually stay at the SeaCrest, so I'm a big fan of a beach less traveled. I stayed at the Beachcomber Inn as a last resort during the busy peak season. read more

Every amenity you could want was there,super clean rooms and the most to die for comfortable bed and pillows! The only issue was the outside noise. It was spring break, on the weekend and that's what happens! The bikers were having a good time down the street and left at staggered times with pipes a-roarin'........ This little hotel is located right in the middle of Pismo Beach CA. You can walk to restaurant, beach, pier, bars and all the shopping you could possibly want. The hotel has only 7 rooms but are good size rooms and are very clean. This is not a good inn. It is very small and looks if no one has cleaned it with lots of sand on the ground and used feeling bed sheets. The floors are also very slippery and could make you fall multiple times. read more

This place should receive 10 stars, oh my gosh. The place is very comfortable, there is nothing you need once you arrive. My sister was bothered by the street noise however I did not hear it but the one night, possibly because she slept by the window and door. It is a very quiet place, only 7 rooms I believe. It makes a difference, more detail was given to each single room. I would totally recommend this place to anyone. It is walking distance to Harry's Bar no driving needed, walking distance to pier and anything else you may wish to visit. I plan on taking my hubby next time, this trip was a Mothers Day trip for my sister and myself. We had a very restful time, we ordered pizza one night delivered right to the door. Hot and delicious, just being bums and enjoying every minute of our time spent there. read more

My boyfriend and I took a little road trip, and ended up here in Pismo. We hadn't booked a hotel yet, but drove by the Beachcomber and decided to stop and check it out. We went into the office to inquire about prices, and the lady working the desk (possibly the owner?) was very friendly and offered to let us check out the room before we booked it. The room was really nice, so we decided to stay. The rate was reasonable as well. As we settled in to the room, we got a chance to really check it out. Wow, I couldn't believe how nice everything was. Really nice wood furniture, flat screen tv, a laptop pillow, an Ipod player/ alarm clock, wood floors, a little fireplace heater, lots of extras you wouldn't expect... I could go on and on. Everything in the room was nice and updated. I felt like I was staying in a friends house, not a hotel. The next day several guests had checked out, and the lady from the front desk let us have a peek inside a few other rooms. They were all nice, and each had it's own character and charm. We have recommended this place to friends and family, and will definitely be back in the future. read more

For a recent weekend get-away I was looking for a nice cozy place to stay away from the traffic of 101 and walking distance from downtown restaurants and the beach...at a reasonable price. The Beachcomber Inn turned out to be perfect! Grace warmly greeted us as we arrived and, to our surprise, had moved us to Room 7. The room is a corner room with lots of natural light and, as other reviewers have indicated, the interior update is exceptional for the price (stone and hardwood is certainly not typical in a little place like this). We took advantage of the Inn's location to walk to the beach, to downtown restaurants and to the path several miles along the coast. During our wandering we picked up a bottle of wine and enjoyed the table and chairs on the balcony outside of Room 7 to enjoy a drink and people watching before dinner. Grace had a bouquet of fresh flowers and a choice of small nibbles (cookies in the morning and chocolate in the evening) on the landing which was an unexpected touch that we enjoyed. The Inn does have a public parking lot next to it and a bar across the street so there is activity in the evening until the beech-goers leave and the bar closes. The location makes for great people watching but is not quiet on weekend evenings. Light sleepers might like to know that some some light seeps through the shutters as night and there is some car traffic noise. But with my earplugs and an eye mask I slept soundly. . If you're looking for extreme quiet and seclusion, this isn't your place but if you enjoy the activity of a small beach town like we do, the Beachcomber is likely to delight. We'll definitely recommend it to friends and return again ourselves! read more

Stayed here for three nights in September. This place is as good as it gets! Grace is incredible, my room was spacious, completely upgraded and it is right next door to Pismo Fish and Chips! Due to the Butte Fire, I was unable to return home as originally planned, thankfully our property was safe. Of all the places to be stranded during an emergency evacuation, The Beachcomber has got to be one of the best! Thank you for your hospitality. Perfect location, in the heart of Pismo! We loved that we did not have to drive around looking for parking, because everything was within walking/skateboarding distance. However, the parking spaces are VERY compact so be advised of that. Modern, spotless room we loved the decor. I only knocked off a few stars for the tiny bathroom and both beds squeaked with every move, that was the only difficult part for our family of 4. But that was in Room 3, so we are willing to try another room next time because of the perfect location and the gracious host welcomed us so warmly.
