We had a wonderful meal there recently. I had the beachcomber burger and fries which were awesome! And the Moscow mule was great. The only issue is - we come by boat and there are often swimmers in the water where we dock. Also the water is really shallow... under 2 feet in some places, so unless the dock is empty, I wouldn't dare try to dock. That's the only reason I give a 4. Bartender was good, but that was it. Place was busy when we arrived but found a table no problem, then was ignored for 30 minutes even though a waiter came to a table next to us 7 times. Finally flagged him down, he sort of grunted to us, and never came back... he was amazingly good at pretending that we didn't exist, like he was way too cool for us... We moved tables, and the next waitress told us they were done taking orders (at 7:45pm?!). Would like to comment on the quality of the food but didn't eat... Stopped here for a drink and apps while we waited for our friends to get there with the boat.... we ordered wings and a couple of beers. The wings were really dry and the worst part was the smell. They smelt bad.... rotten. We told the bartender and she took them to the bAck.... she came back and said the cook said no they were fine and it was the vinegar in the buffalo sauce we smelt. We then said no they smelt spoiled and she pretty much looked at us like we were crazy and said No. Never apologized... she was the slowest bartender I have ever seen.... I really wanted to give 5 stars but.... I went with my 4 year old & hubby last Sunday. I LOVE that they use the beautiful water from Lake Travis instead of chlorine pool water. YES! The park has 4 water slides & 2 small pools to chill in as well as a ship play area for the under 4 crowd. We spent 6 hours in the park & had the best time. We brought our cooler with drinks and sandwiches, and bought discount tickets at the Randall's in Steiner Ranch. My ONLY complaint is the female lifeguards need to act as lifeguards instead of being preoccupied chatting with their guy friends all day. The lifeguard at the top of the slides is suppose to wait for the lifeguard at the bottom of the slide to give the all clear so the next rider can go, well...basically he has to fend for himself because the girls are too chatty to assist him in doing the job. Both male life guards expressed frustrations to me throughout the day about the girls not giving the all clear. I know my review may sound petty but if you are going to be a lifeguard at a public waterpark, BE A LFEGUARD. Pay attention, look out for the smaller kids that can't swim as well as the older kids. Leave your cell phone in your locker & DO YOUR JOB. All in all, a great place to take the kids. Another huge plus is that the height requirement on 3 of the slides is 42 inches, my 4 year old could ride all but 1 slide which was awesome. Most of the other water parks he is stuck with just the lazy river. He has a blast & I loved watching his excitement. read more

I can see how some of the lower reviews might have been concerned with the look of the place, it is older and a little run down, but I think it was clean and I think that the lifeguards made sure everyone was safe. Mostly shaded, but would have liked to see more lounge chairs. There were only a handful. I liked the lake access as well (I suggest brining a chair or even an umbrella if you think that you'll spend time by the lake). I loved that you are able to bring in your own cooler (just no glass or alcohol). You can also get cheaper tickets at Randall's (I think you save about five bucks). We had such a good time that we bought return passes on our way out for 12.99. Well definitely be back! read more

Fun fun fun!!! Definitely a good family time. We bought our tickets discounted at Randalls so I felt it was a good value. The food was EXCELLENT!! I was totally surprised. We had chicken fingers and they were the best I've had and only $9 for a huge serving. The drinks were plentiful and not too expensive. The only bummer was that the lake was so low we couldn't get in but lots of good swimming. The rides are fun and we played water volleyball. They played good music. Short lines and not a lot of walking to get to the different activities. Lots of shade and lots of comfortable seating. I'm sorry but the price per what you get is simply ridiculous. The only reason this place is still open is that there's no competition. I took my daughter here and she fell in some black hole height gap. We spent $15!, and she was too tall for the kiddie area, and too short for the larger slides. WHAT IS WITH THESE PEOPLE WITH NEGATIVE REVIEWS??????? okay, so there aren't nearly as many rides as Schlitterbahn, but SO WHAT? These rides are FUN! I'm almost 14, and it was great for me! okay, so the food isn't the best, but SO WHAT? ALL waterparks have crappy food, PLUS you can bring food AND drink AND coolers so you don't have to eat the food. okay, so it's slightly overpriced, but SO WHAT? You can get CHEAPER prices if you buy tickets at Randall's! PLUS, you can't buy happiness, right? BUT you CAN buy yourself and your friends a GREAT time! But enough of my "okay, so" 's..... There are four main water rides: 1. the Roadrunner -- an (and i might be switching the names of rides 1 and 2)open-top bodyslide that twists and turns, curving over the lake and ending in a chute to the pool. 2. the Flash-Flood -- a CLOSED- top- tube-like bodyslide that ends next to the Roadrunner. 3. the Texas Twister -- you have to be 100 pounds minimum to go on this ride: it's kind of like one of those coin things at a museum where you put a quarter in the slot and it goes in a circle/funnel thing, around and around until it drops through the bottom. it's like that, but YOU'RE the quarter, and you go through a short closed tube into the funnel as you spin around and around until you fall into the hole in the middle, and splash into a small pool. 4. the Sidewinder -- my personal favorite, also the most thrilling, in my opinion. it's like a half-pipe skateboarding ramp. two people get into a two person tube (okay, i deserve a "duh" for that one), and are pushed of a platform with a surge of rushing water into the half pipe, as you go down, down, down... you have only a second's relief at the bottom before momentum takes it's toll, and shoots you back up onto the other side, and back and forth, it's REALLY FUN! All the rides are fun! ONLY one problem: on the roadrunner, at one point you have to PUSH WITH YOUR HANDS to get yourself to move... SAD, RIGHT? BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT.................I stopped to push with my hands, and I looked over the lake. The sun was setting over the water, I could hear distant laughter, I took a deep breath and thought "this is the best birthday ever." The lifeguards can't see you from the place you have to push off from, so I took a moment to be happy to be alive, and pushed off hard to enjoy the ride. A TRULY AWESOME EXPERIENCE FOR AGES 2 - 18!!! This place needs a TON of work. Middle of summer and the beach and one of the four attractions was closed all day because "a lifeguard called in sick". Drains in the sidewalk were clogged with nasty water pooling up. I saw at least 4 people slip in a matter of 5-10 minutes. When we brought it to the lifeguard's attention, she stated they "were aware of it", but did nothing. Wooden staircase had splitting wood with nails popping out. The potential is there for a really cool facility but they need to seriously address maintenance issues. We paid $81 for a family of 5 plus $7 for parking. Definitely would NOT do it again. read more

I looked at both Christine's and Tara's reviews and decided to go with Tara's review of Volente Beach since I was taking a 14, 7, and 3 year old with me. I should have gone with Christine's review because everything she mentioned, I found as well. Only two of the three slides were open. If you enjoy gravel/large rock beaches and don't mind swimming with water bottle wrappers, hot pocket microwave sleeves, and assorted other trash, then this place is for you. If you like the look of the water trampoline or other climbing apparatus in the lake area, be prepared to wait since they only allow four people in the water at one time. Two life guards are present but for some unknown reason could only watch 4 people at a time. And when we were there, July 21st, one of the life guards *on duty* was jumping off someone's private boat at the marina. He wasn't doing a lot of water monitoring. If you like to get soused while your children are playing in pools or the lake, then you will love this place. I guess one of the highlights of our visit there was the over 40 year old mom *treating* everyone to a lap dance on one of the picnic tables. Again, if this is what you're looking for in a place to take your children, then you will not be disappointed. If cost is a factor, save all your money for Schlitterbahn. It is worth every extra dollar, and then some. And I was in no way expecting this place to measure up to Schlitterbahn, but for $20 a ticket, I had every right to expect more. At $20 a ticket they should provide volleyballs to use in the sand pit area and pool without requiring your driver's license as collateral. read more

Adult night here- don't waste your gas money or time. My boyfriend and I got a groupon for the event and drove 35 minutes to get there and left within 5 minutes of walking in. Everyone there seems around high school age, trashy, people grinding and making out everywhere you turn. It's like a high school pool party with dirty water. The band playing was super cheesy, dressed in tight space/jetson costumes. We just attended the "VIP" 4TH of July event yesterday...it was TERRIBLE! It was our first time there, the tickets were right at $150 for all 5 of us. The fajita buffet was a disaster...the rice was burnt, as were the beans, the meat was awful. So, our kids ate absolutely nothing. Even the cookies were clearly store bought. The grounds in the area we were in (east coast) were not kept up, and on such a steep hill that their table with drinks in coolers fell over. There were intoxicated parents in the children's play area, SMOKING, with buckets of beer. We will never be back. This place should be called beachside hillbilly's. Wish we could get a refund, worst event we have ever been to. Also, the parking!!! the lot is a block away, uphill, and unpaved. Sharp rocks everywhere. When we were leaving, the parking staff had directed cars to park in the exit lane, and was difficult to get out. We were glad we left before the fireworks were over, with as many people that were trashed, I can only hope that there weren't any accidents trying to get out of that cluster. read more

We went to Volente today for a Girl Scout get together. We paid $16 for admission, and that included a reserved area, pizza, a drink and free parking. It was not very crowded and the girls - 7 and under all had fun. Regular admission is $19.99 and wouldn't include food/drink/parking. The water in the main pool area is lake water so don't expect chlorinated crystal clear water but it wasn't dirty either. There are 4 big person slides in one area. There is a obstacle rope/float course, a mini kids slide, a water mushroom and a volleyball net in the main pool. There is also a pirate ship with some slides and a toddler area. They have a beach area where you can rent cabanas and then a big inflated slide/wall climb out in the lake. They only let 4 people at a time go out to the slide and you only have 5 minutes, which was a little annoying since by the time you swim out to it it's time to turn back. We stayed mostly by the main pool. Pros: Good for young kids No lines for slides You can rent jet skis from Volente Marina, which is right next door. We paid $75 an hour but split it between 4 people so we only spent $20. 2 people can ride so we got 30 minutes on the jet ski, we actually even went over 10 minutes and they didn't charge us extra. Lots of lifeguards and everyone was friendly. Cons Admission/Parking without a organized group where you get the extras is a little high. I think somewhere between $10-$12 would be more appropriate. Our shaded area was picnic tables under trees when they indicated it would be more of a pavillion. There were ants everywhere and they were biting the kids. Also tons and tons of bugs. They should spray for bugs on a regular basis b/c that was a big turn off. It wasn't too long before we abandoned our reserved area and moved down to the areas by the pool where it is concrete and there are tables with umbrellas. There was a big screw up with our group wristbands. They gave out some of our color wristbands to a different group so when several people in our group arrived they wouldnt let them in b/c we had 'used" all our wristbands. This took a while to straighten out. For adult only fun probably not the place to go but for familes with smaller kids it works well. I know mix 94.7 currently has a season pass for $25 offer. I live in Cedar Park so its not very far - $25 for unlimited season admission would be worth it. read more

Here is a breakdown of my recent experience at Volente Beach: 1.) Four slides and 1 small pool. 2.) Went on one slide, got stuck 1/4 of the way down and had to push my way down the rest of the way. Lifeguard on top was laughing and oviously not watching too closely and told my younger 200 pound brother to come down while I was still on the slide. Luckily, my brother told him I was still on slide and did not come down. It could have been a very serious situation. When I got down I noticed several other people having to push themselves down the slide too. It is not safe for anybody. 3.) Did not receive locker deposit back. 4.) Small rocky buggy beach. 5.) Poor and slow service at the bar/restaurant This place is hardly a water park. Save your money and go to a real one. read more

The water was dirty, and I always got stuck in the slides! This was in spite of me wearing proper swim shorts. And worst part of all, all the rides (there were only 3!) were literally painful! Just left the park and restaurant. This review is of the service for the restaurant. While the food was tasty...the service was pretty bad. Waitress did not bring enough menus, or silverware (at all) and napkins (at all)...I had to ask a young boy who was rolling silverware for some, who was inside the restaurant and we were seated on the patio. Waitress got my order wrong (didn't come check on us so I had to run in back in) and our toddler's food (who's was also wrong) didn't even come out until after mine was corrected! We waited on the check...and got fed up...and went to stand at the server's station. There only seemed to be one person who even knew anything about the service industry or how to print a check. She was being pulled in all directions. A cook, the bar tender, and servers doing their check out all urgently needed our server while she was helping me with our check trying to fix the first waitresses mistakes. I'm totally about second chances, but it's probably gonna take a while. I'll just try to enjoy the season pass I bought at the pools. read more
