Going to be hard to keep coming here in the summer. We visited on an afternoon and once again were sweltering inside. What do they have against AC? The problem is the open patio door concept. It lets all the hot air in and the cool air out. The condensation is dripping off the vents and pooling on the floor. We tried outside and unfortunately the only tables they would give us as a couple were four seaters out under tiny umbrellas that do nothing to block the heat. They wouldn't let us sit under the actual patio at a larger table "just in case" a group came in. Well, no groups came but we sure sweated it out under our little umbrella. Fish and rock shrimp roll were great, regular fries great, but the upcharged truffle fries were burnt. They made a second batch to take with us... but didn't poke holes in the container so they were a soggy mess that went in the trash at home. I really did appreciate the effort and the server was so nice. But this is the second attempt to eat here. First inside where we all sweated and couldn't hear each other over broken blaring speakers and overcrowded dining area (not to mention inedible chewy snapper special), and now sweating outside with burnt truffle fries we paid extra for. It's just not fun and really starts being annoying to spend money for "upscale" dining in such poor physical conditions. I'm really hoping they get it together, but doubtful after two bad experiences in a row. Tips to owners: Expanding the patio cover. Get a door that closes. Fix the speakers inside. Wipe up the ac puddle (that won't exist if you close the patio door). And give your diners some elbow room. read more

This was the first time I went to this restaurant. I took my parents to celebrate their 40th Anniversary . The ambiance was really nice as well as the super friendly service. Being that we are all from New england, the chowder wasn't the traditional new England chowder that we are used to, however, it was very delicious and tasted more like a vegetable chowder in my opinion. But it was really good. Li loved the mac and cheese and the truffle oil waa not overpowering at all which is sometimes difficult to come by. Open for year and we finally got to go by for lunch. Unfortunately the ac was having a hard time keeping up but manageable. They have a nice centerpiece bar and the raw bar is open for you to peruse. We sat in window booth table combo and ordered our food. The tuna Poke tacos were pretty good. A nice crunch on the "shell" and the aioli was tasty too. The side of avocado mash was also a nice compliment. Did not want fries so ordered a house salad. SCORE. It was huge. Only ate half and partner ate the rest. The fish and chips had a good crunch on them too with them being nice and hot and not soggy at all. The fries were nice and crunchy too. Overall a do over by all accounts. Our server was pretty good but as we were the only folks in the place as they just opened we had several servers that stopped by as well as one manager. We recently checked out the Boardwalk Bar & Grill, location former Wendy's, and overall had a great experience. The atmosphere is one of the biggest draws. The décor is beautiful, and the combination of indoor seating and large garage doors opening to a spacious outdoor patio creates a fun date-night vibe with excellent beach views. Be aware that the indoor dining area was so loud. We opted to dine al fresco. The drink menu is creative, but cocktails are on the pricey side at around $15+. I tried the seasonal margarita and was surprised by how small the glass was for the cost. To be fair, it was served without ice (just how I prefer it), which likely factored into the size. Even the water glasses seemed unusually small. Service was excellent across the board. The entire staff worked together seamlessly, but the true standout was Peter, the host. When seating guests, he offered a choice between tables, a thoughtful touch I watched him extend to everyone. Throughout the evening, he seemed to be everywhere at once, helping deliver drinks and desserts, checking restrooms and supplies, assisting staff, and ensuring guests were taken care of. The ultimate example of his attentiveness came when I accidentally left my purse behind while walking on the beach. Peter actually started heading toward the beach to make sure I got it back. His attitude, work ethic, and willingness to help in every area made a lasting impression. Food prices are also on the higher side. I wanted to sample a few items, so I ordered two appetizers: the mussels, which were plentiful, and the shrimp and crab cake. I'm very particular about crab cakes, and this one was excellent and highly recommended. The portions were filling, though next time I'll probably order an entrée since the pricing works out similarly. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his double stack smashburger, and we couldn't pass up dessert. The chocolate cake was enormous, incredibly moist, and absolutely delicious. Overall, Boardwalk Bar & Grill offers fantastic views, a great atmosphere, excellent service, and quality food. Just be prepared for premium pricing. My family and I were on quick vacation and took the wrong turn going back to our Air bnb, we saw this cute restaurant and said we were gonna come back for dinner the following night and aren't we glad we did! Parking: they have their own lot but because we came at a busy time parking was tough. We found a spot though Service: 10/10! We should've made reservations but we didn't. When we originally put our name on the list they said 1.5 hrs but I think we waited 20-30 minutes for a seat. We had Ian as a server, he was great! Ambience/Crowd: It's a place for family or a romantic date or a girls night out... very mixed crowd of all walks of life. Food/drink : 7/10 we had the crab cake, oysters Rockefeller, calamari, and tomahawk steak was shared with the table. The crab cake was ok, not my fav the oysters Rockefeller need a bit more season in the mix, and my mom and brother loved the calamari especially with their sauce. The star of the show was the 40 oz tomahawk steak with Yukon potatoes, asparagus, and cauliflower puree. AMAZING!! I also had the crème brûlée which was perfect. The most fabulous Frutti de Mare this side of Venice and visiting that fabulous Italian city a few times of year lets me say that. I really wasn't keen on going to an expensive Melbourne restaurant in a former Burger King but I was convinced to try it. (Let's just say -nicely- folks down here are very "accepting" of what purports to be "good food.") Glad I went. The food was amazing and the service superb. As someone who travels to Italy over 30 days a year, my standards are extremely high when it comes to Italian. This was an amazing dish clearly made by people who care. Every item in it was cooked perfectly. My mouth is already watering for the next time. And it deserves one of my world class pictures of it and not this one but, I was here to eat it, not stylize and photograph it. One last thing: The experience would have been perfect if not for the flies, which makes me ask, Why no fans to at least help with that? And, this is Florida. It rains here. They have no provisions to deal with that if a storm passes by and you're outside. Doesn't make sense they don't invest in at least a mechanized shade so people's $200 dinner isn't ruined. We had a fantastic meal at Boardwalk Bar & Grill. We started with the PEI Sand Dune oysters, which were incredibly fresh and delicious and the perfect way to kick off the meal. My husband ordered the steak frites and it was tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. I went with the lobster and crab mac, which was rich and satisfying with huge chunks of both lobster and crab throughout. They definitely did not skimp on the seafood. Both of our meals were super filling and packed with flavor. I also had the Cucumber Breeze cocktail, which was refreshing, light, and absolutely delicious. In town for a 2 day conference and I needed to get out of the hotel. WOW! From the moment I stepped in, greeted by the host who sold me on the short ribs. His description was so in depth I wanted to order that dish! I sat at the bar where Andrea & Sophia 2 bartenders waited on me, great service and awesome personalities! This little beachside bar & grill is a hidden gem!! The service was amazing ( Bryant ) took very good care of us and all of our needs. He made sure to inform us that it was a scratch kitchen, and it was just that. Everything that we had was amazing !!We started with the humus and it was delicious. (We ate it to fast to get pictures) and then for our main course we shared a 24 ounce bone in ribeye along with an extra side of Rainbow carrots and a house salad which Bryant was able to add the panko crusted goat cheese too, the food prices were definitely on the high end but there wasn't a part of our experience that was lacking. Nice location with decent parking. Outside tables have an ocean view! We've had a dinner and a lunch here. Both times the food was very good although a bit pricey. The portions are fairly large and sharing would be doable for many of the options. We especially liked the crab cakes, and the New England clam chowder. Servers were well trained and friendly. It's across from the beach access, so the location is premium, but of course that didn't help Wendy's. It's a gutted old Wendy's refabricated, if you didn't know that you wouldn't be able to tell from the inside....kinda. It's a little pricey even for Beachside. I had a Pint Can of Pilsner (500 ml) and it was $8.89. They don't serve Budweiser products, I think Mich Ultra may be the only American Beer. They don't take cash. The beef tips were overcooked and the fries that came with were tiny fried strings difficult to eat. The tuna stack was amazing with a base of guacamole like avocado mash. I had the burger and my wife had the Wagyu and both were wonderful. The only issue or recommendation I could make is do not go when it's cold out as the majority of the seating is outside and since they are forced to have an open large I had a great time at Boardwalk Bar & Grill overall, and the food and drinks were fantastic. I had the burger (amazing) and my wife the wagyu (just as amazing). The only little hiccup was that it was pretty chilly the night we visited. Because they've got this large sliding garage door open--since most of the seating is outdoors--some of that cold breeze blew right in and made the inside area a bit colder than we expected. Atmosphere - you're getting a nicer ambiance with good decor. Definitely doesn't feel like it used to be a Wendy's, however it's not a big restaurant so seating feels a little tight and I think a couple less tables would have made difference. Service wise, Steven was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu that helped when making our decision about the food. Wait time was good and food came out at a reasonable time. A good menu variety, definitely had a lot of interesting choices that you're not gonna find at many other restaurants. Wagyu Steak and Fries - asked for medium rare and it came out slightly overcooked, but that preference aside, seasoned well and paired with a chimichurri that could have used more lemon. American double smash burger - my father had, said it was a good burger, nothing special or to rave about. Catch of the Day, Halibut served over couscous with beet purée. Surprisingly well done pairing with the flavor profile, aside from the halibut being a little bland the couscous was the star for me. Ended up finishing it on my mom's plate. Truffle lobster crab mac - good, but also nothing special about it that would make me reorder it. Felt like the lobster and crab meat drowned a little in the mac making it almost forgettable. But if you like just mac and cheese it's a good option. Burrata - remembered liking it, but nothing that really stood out. Lamb lolis - 9/10 definitely would order again, even as a main for myself as someone who doesn't eat large portions. Loved the side of pita and tzatziki, will always be a hit for me. Lambs were season very well, but again, a little overcooked. Oysters - my first time ever having oysters and I was pleasantly surprised. Although I feel like the sauces really make or break it, would reorder. Nothing mind blowing, but it is good food regardless and nothing was bad. The overall experience was enjoyable and can't talk bad about this place. The only thing stopping me from giving this more stars is the pricing. For what you're paying I feel like the food should better to make me wanna spend a lot. I can see how people would come here for a more luxury dining experience but the bar isn't high in this area either. Still, not a bad choice for a restaurant in Melbourne. Absolutely! It was a great price for lunchtime here during the week. Yes they are open Monday and Tuesday. Make sure you change that! They have draft beers on tap. They have a full bar and a beautiful patio to sit across from the ocean that you can walk to afterwards. The prices were very moderate at least during lunchtime they averaged about $20-$25 and the burger was fabulous. The people were really happy to be here. The service was spectacular. Had a great experience dining here on the patio. We shared the truffle fries, steak bites, and the branzino which were all delicious! Our waiter made sure the food was brought out in the right order to make sure everything was fresh. For dessert we had chocolate cake with ice cream that was perfectly balanced. Attempted to have lunch with my husband at the Boardwalk Bar and Grill. Waited for over 15 minutes for the waitress who never appeared. The restaurant was not busy and the bartender who was working next to where our table was never alerted anyone that a table was seated by the hostess and was not being waited on. Two ladies were seated outside 15 minutes after we arrived and received water and were immediately greeted by the waiter. My husband and I left disgusted and went to the rooftop restaurant down the street where we were immediately seated, receive prompt service and delicious food. The manager (or someone acting as such, though he wore no name tag) insisted our friends finish their appetizer at the bar because it was ordered during happy hour.
