Worth every penny, highly recommend! Excellent service by plumber Zadrien, who came to the rescue after multiple previous plumbers from other companies wanted to wait more than a week without any running water, just to come on-site to assess. I submitted an online service request after 5pm Wed and was immediately transfered to a phone call with a live dispatcher without any hold time. Dispatcher demonstrated empathy & an appropriate sense of urgency, and I received initial contact from plumber Zadrien within minutes of getting off the phone with dispatch. He was on-site in less than an hour, came up with a game plan, and personally connected with water damage specialists, who were in turn immediately responsive and on-site within another hour. All of this after hours and with a level personal care and compassion I wouldn't expect from a big company. I truly felt valued as a customer. My plumbing repair was complete and new water heater replacement in place by Friday night - delayed only by waiting on the water damage contractor and my homeowners insurance. Zadrien returned promptly Saturday morning to check on everything and was the consummate professional throughout - available directly by phone & text, quickly responsive late into the evenings, and speedy efficient on-site work. Paid for a Sewer scope to determine what the issues were with the existing sewer lines. The technicians didn't fully understand how to use the Sewer scope equipment and didn't even have tools to open up the cleanout or Sewer lid, I had to do that for them. Never received a video or even a write up saying what was wrong. Made multiple calls and emails and was promised a callback multiple times and received nothing. Save yourself money that would be better spent on your retirement. I had a situation in which a pipe for my irrigation separated and water flowed up from below ground onto the front sidewalk. Beacon dug a 24 inch wide by 18 inch deep hole and closed a below-grade valve. They charged over $2,700.00 for digging a small hole and closing a valve. I disputed the charge, but it was a mere formality. They already had my money, so they were not going to justify any means to refund any portion of the exorbitant costs. Called in beacon to replace a toilet. they did do that, but they charged over $1800. They didn't have the correct valve on their truck so they made it work by leaving about 15 inches of new piping sticking out of the wall. the water lines and the power cable were left a mess. i reached out for some support and was told they aren't going to do anything. No one should ever use these guys. they are way to expensive to be this bad, and even worse at customer service. read more

We've had plumbing, new furnace, electronic air cleaner, water heater, AC installed in our house by Brom at Beacon Plumbing. They also completed plumbing work on condos in Providence Point. They stand behind their work which is important. We had a major issue in a condo due to a leak caused by another plumbing company working on an upstairs unit. It took 6 months to repair all the damage. Beacon is the only company we trust. And they work on older houses. In addition to their professionalism and expertise, I particularly appreciate nuggets of advice such as why a water heater needs to be earthquake proofed to prevent a gas leak or how chlorine n the water can cause pipes to become brittle and fail. They've done hours of work for us in stifling 90 degree weather and freezing cold to make sure we had hot water and heat. I called on a Saturday afternoon because the toilet was clogged. I have three teens and one bathroom. So when I need service, I need it fast. Bear in mind, I'm not complaining about the Saturday service charge. I expected that and thought it would cost me another couple hundred to unclog the toilet and life could resume. The technician, Mario, came less than an hour after I called. Great! I told him the issue and he said "we can absolutely clear that today." He proceeds to go into my bathroom and remove the toilet so he can snake the line. This is after I showed him the clean out in the backyard. Not sure why he couldn't just snake it from there?? So he begins to snake the line and then shows me the clog which is near the neighbors yard and says he can't fix it, they have to reconstruct the entire sewer line for a total of $14,000. I asked "there's nothing you can do?" He said no, not without replacing the whole line. Then--THEN--he charged me (twice!) $800 for "moving the toilet". He didn't even secure the toilet when he left, just set it on top of the opening. I asked "so we cannot use the toilet until we get a new sewer line?" "No," he said. "Broken." Left without a working bathroom, I packed up the kids and the dog and went to my elderly father's house to continue to hunt for someone who could actually fix the problem. After some phone calls, I found another company who agreed that the sewer line needed to be fixed, quoted substantially less for doing so and doing so in a much less invasive way. They were running just a couple of days out so I sent the kids to their dad's and the dog and I bunked with my dad for a couple more days until the problem was fixed. During this time I received several calls from Mario wanting to schedule the sewer line work. As if I would trust him or his "company" to do such a thing! Never again. I will never use Beacon and I will never recommend them and I hope Mario gets what he deserves in life. read more

Rip-off. Swindle. Exploit people with their "apt knowledge." All of these would be too kind of a description for what Beacon Plumbing does to you. Admittedly, I have only had experience with their electrical crew, but I can only assume that their business "best practices" are taking advantage of people and are severely overcharging them. My house has hardwired smoke detectors, which have been expiring over the past couple of weeks. This means constant, shrill beeping, which usually starts up in the middle of the night. To make matters more complicated, I have a smoke detector situated on an 18.5-foot ceiling (and unreachable without professional equipment). As a new round of beeping started up, one could be the culprit. Unsure, I called Electrician Pro so that I could get someone to perform a complete assessment on all my fire alarms. They connected me with Beacon Plumbing. My Beacon electrician arrived, he focused solely on the fire alarm located on the 18.5-foot ceiling, despite my insistence that they were all hardwired, so that it could be any of them. However, I had reason to suspect that it was that one. Ultimately, I listened to him. He is supposed to be the expert. He stated that he would need to rent a 14-foot A-frame ladder from Home Depot, despite having previously told me that Beacon had its own at their shop. I assured him that Beacon's ladder would be fine, but he went ahead and rented one because Beacon's were "dirty." I did not care about the dirt, but he did not attempt to grab one of Beacon's ladders. It was only after the ladder conversation that I got quoted the price. It would be $840 (and $3500 if I were looking to replace them). Regardless, I had to put down a $420 deposit. Fortunately, I chose not to have him replace the detectors. But, in a panic, I agreed to have the electrian disconnect the detectors for $840. When he returned from grabbing the ladder, he checked the smoke detector on the 18.5-foot-tall ceiling. That was not the one beeping. The beeping one was a previously disconnected smoke alarm (one that was off the ceiling, which I had shown him as an example of what we were working with). I would not recommend Beacon. It would be safe to say that I am getting other quotes. read more

I strongly advise against using Beacon Plumbing based on my recent experience. I scheduled a visit to address a clogged main line and was quoted a $75 trip fee, which I agreed to. Without my authorization or a clear explanation of costs, the technician proceeded with additional work that did not resolve the issue, and I was charged $700.50. I was then told that excavation--costing around $8,000--would be necessary. Fortunately, I sought a second opinion. Another licensed plumbing company came out, performed a basic snaking procedure, and successfully cleared the blockage without any need for excavation. The issue was fixed quickly, professionally, and for a fraction of the cost. I raised these concerns with Beacon Plumbing and was met with aggressive, defensive, and unprofessional behavior, including a phone call from a manager that I found threatening. Despite being informed multiple times that I am a tenant, not the property owner, they attempted to threaten me with a lien--which would not even be legally valid in this case. Beacon Plumbing has failed to: Disclose pricing before performing work Resolve the actual issue Provide an ethical or necessary recommendation Respect clear requests to stop contact I have disputed the charge with my credit card provider--not as an act of fraud, but as a legitimate challenge to a charge for services not rendered. We had a very disappointing experience with Beacon Plumbing. No diagnostic price was disclosed before the technician began work. After about two hours, we were told our boiler couldn't be repaired, he could not restart the boiler and their only follow up recommendation is to have a full boiler replacement at over $22,000, and only then were we charged $429 for diagnostics. The boiler was left nonfunctional. Before spending $22,000 for a new system, we called for a second company for another opinion. The company quoted very reasonable diagnostic fee on our first call and dispatched a technical right away. He found the problem (a tripped fuse and a rotted thermostat battery connection) and fix the issue in about 15 minutes, with no replacement needed. His recommendation was a routine maintenance service which had not been done for at least 2 yrs when we owned the home. Follow up calls with Beacon Plumbing were unprofessional--the technician hung up on us, and office staff were dismissive. If you call in to complain, their customer service or technician sends you to their lawyer. Based on our experience, we will not work with Beacon Plumbing again and don't recommend them to anyone. I strongly recommend getting clear pricing in writing and a second opinion before agreeing to any major work. I needed 2 visits: 1 to reconnect the kitchen sink drain ramshackle PVC mess (for the sink and the dishwasher exhaust) and the 2nd to snake the entire exhaust line from the offending sink (which had become completely stopped-up with yuck) to the main sewer connection beneath the street. 1st tech reassembled the messy PVC connections (P-trap and dishwasher exhaust lead), the 2nd showed up within the hour with an industrial-strength pipe snake to clear the colossal build-up of grease and the usual lord-knows-what schmutz coating and strangling the flow. Perfect both times. So professional, so prompt and resolved an unmanageable mess quickly and efficiently. read more

A sunny Sunday afternoon and my backyard hose spigot won't turn off. There is no way to make it stop except by shutting off the water to the house. A full house and no water equals no fun. Frantically searching for an emergency plumber on a Sunday, most were not open. I called the Beacon line and I immediately reached a human. They calmly collected my info and assessed my problem. He said he would be able to get me someone right away. Several minutes later, I get a call from Luis, who said he could be at my house in 20 minutes. Luis was professional and assessed the repair. He had to cut into the wall to replace the entire frost free faucet assembly, but was able to do so quickly and was able to put things back looking pretty good too. I wasn't worried about the drywall as I had a shoe rack that covered that wall anyways. In less than an hour, we were back in business and water was restored to the house. True to the motto, I was no longer freakin after I called Beacon. read more

All I can say is they were punctual when I called in because my old water heater leaked and left 4 inches of water in part of my garage. The two techs were kind and answered my questions, but I still think (know) they overcharged me. I'm a renter and a woman living alone, in panic mode and they charge me $4300 to remove my old water heater and install a new one? I cleaned up all the water so...what is this enormous charge for???? I was told it would take an hour, and it took 3. No big deal, as I needed the water heater replaced. I should have looked into the pricing of the Bradford White Water Heater and Expansion tank before agreeing because those two items didn't cost even half of what I paid. The techs arrived at 11 am on Tuesday and left about 2:30 pm. I woke up at 5:30 am on Wednesday to find my garage again flooded. The weld job from the tech didn't hold and leaked out, most likely all night. I called Beacon again, and I then waited for a Tech from Lakewood to show up. He was at my place by 7 am. He looked at the new water heater and the weld job, and said, "rookies" under his breath. He had a new emergency water shut-off valve installed within 40 minutes. I said thank you and he left. I then realize the next day, my kitchen faucet has only half the pressure and no hot water. My wash machine has no hot water. I call in again, tech #2 shows again and informs me I likely need to now purchase a new kitchen faucet due to sediment from the hot water heater... Seriously????? Go ahead and call them if you feel like giving money away. Better yet, Call me! I will take your money and find a better company to help you out! read more

Terrible service ... I paid $455 and the toilet still leaks. The plumber should have been able to look at my toilet tell me what's wrong and give me options to fix or buy a new toilet. If I could I would leave zero. We had them come out Saturday when our septic grinder pump stopped working and was flooding over. The guys that came were great, said we should check if our last replacement had a warranty and said that we should confirm our warranty before they did anything. Those two guys were great! We find out our grinder is out of warranty, so I call beacon back to have them come out that Monday. The diagnosis alone was almost $400 and they were there for maybe 15 mins. They checked the wires in the alarm box and inside the septic and said it looked like the electrical was good and the pump needed replacing. Quoted us for almost $8000. I had another company come and none of the electric is working anymore and I tell him everything was working, alarm and breaker would work then trip after a few seconds, just the night before when beacon checked it.. he shows me that two wires are not attached in the alarm box and do not have caps on the top and at least two wires are cut completely from the septic.. seems a little weird since we only had one other company come out and that was beacon... read more

Their services call is a joke. They charge their fee, guess at what the problem is and quote a ton of money to fix. Whats more because they don't actually look to see what the problem is they have a clause that it could be more if it's something other than what they quoted. A literal throw the toilet out and start again rather than confirming whether it's just a gasket issue or something minor. They didn't actually check what the problem was just said "yep there's a leak. probably just an old toilet." ::Update:: The service fee quoted on the phone was charged as promise, but what was not honored was the online discount quoted when I booked. The tech said the discount is only applied if they do some significant work. This was not disclosed when booked. In fact the booking person made a point of saying the fee would be reduced by the coupon. Overall not a good experience especially when combined with the fact the service tech seemed to be unwilling to actually diagnose the issue instead trying to upsell as much as possible. The same type of toilet they have "in stock" on their truck is about 5x more than the same or similar was at Lowes With Free Delivery. That's before their install cost which added another several hundred plus a potential for several thousand more if the replacement wasn't the issue. Steer clear as several others have shared! Beacon's estimate was way over the top. They required $75 to visit (not part of the repair) and then tacked a minimum hourly fee in 15 minute increments. We never made it past the bid process. I invited 8 plumbers from Yelp to bid on my project from all over the Puget Sound region and these guys were the ONLY ones to charge a $75 overhead fee for themselves to come to our house which is over and above the hourly fee minimums. read more

Did the job, but would not use again due to billing practices; They treat every step in the work as a new "job" and bill from the bottom up as if it were a entire new project. I ended up paying over 15k for about 10 hours of work that involved them digging up line, cutting a section, clear a clog, running a liner, and then closing everything up. Every part had its own job bill instead of being combined, there is no way the labor, parts, and time equaled that cost in any market. This practice is unethical and bad business. Called Beacon because they were the only plumber who could come out next day. First of all, they charge $75 to show up. Then they charge an approx. $600 flat rate to do any work. They said they would show up some time during the day, so I used PTO to be home for that. They didn't get to my house until late in the evening, so I could have worked, but whatever. They started by cutting the whole in my dining room ceiling. They determined that my roof was leaking, but decided that wasn't right when we checked the vent pipes in the attic and they were dry. Then they cut exploratory holes in the master bath and came to the conclusion that my shower was dripping around the fixtures, but there was no actual leak. They did some caulking and started to leave. I walked back through and immediately identified a drip coming from the hot water pipe, which they hadn't seen. I flagged them down before they left and showed them the leak. They came back in, charged me for a second flat rate and did the repair. I called and spoke with Mark about the situation. He said that he needed to review the invoices and talk to his work crew. He said that he would call me back on Tuesday and gave me a direct line cell number. I tried calling when I didn't hear back and my call was rejected without even going to voice-mail. I will not be a Beacon customer again. I gave two stars because they did repair the leak effectively when I found it. But I absolutely feel un-valued as a customer.
