This is an edited review. Today, 9/30, Micah from WES came out today and replaced the Gas Control Thermostat on our hot water tank. He took time to explain to me what had happened on their end and explained, in detail, what he was going to do and in less than 2 hours, we had hot water. Luckily for us the part was under warranty, and any service call fee and labor was waived. Micah and WES wanted to make us right, and I appreciate that. It's this kind of service that makes people go back. It won't be forgotten. I hope someone in management at WES reads this. Micah is top notch. read more

Woke up on a Saturday to an extinguished pilot light on our 8 year old water heater. Used Yelp to round up a few local companies. Out of 5 companies, WES was the first to respond, called immediately and said they could get me in same day. They said I'd be at the end of the day (after 5pm) but a few hours later (at 1:30) , Erik called and was 10 minutes out bc he completed a job nearby. He replaced the part, and was in and out in 25 minutes. He was experienced, nice and super knowledgeable! We got burned on the extra cost for a last minute appointment ($359+labor and parts) but we had no choice. Glad our money went to a responsive well- known company and a super nice technician. Never once did I do business with these folks. What I got 8 years ago when I requested a quote was a price almost twice what anybody else wanted and no real commitment on timing. In the years that follow I get spam email at least once a week every week. No amount of unsubscribing gets rid of these vermin. There's no way on God's green earth I would trust them at this point. I've seriously considered filing a complaint with the AG's office and the FTC just for the constant spam. Customer service falls short. Contacted WES after Bryant gas furnace stopped working. Had a authorized Bryant dealer install furnace and is still under warranty. Problem was diagnosed as a major part had failed by installing dealership. They ordered part but out of stock entire west coast, no ETA. Ask WES if they happened to have part in stock, because they are a large dealership. I was prepared to pay them to double check the diagnosis and install the part. But they refused to tell me if they had the part in stock. They wanted me to pay for a service call then tell me if they had the part or it would need to be back ordered, which would put me where I'm currently at and wasting $175 to $200. Wouldn't recommend this company. read more

I would not recommend WES for window replacement. Have serious concerns regarding not the windows themselves but the quality of the installation. They had to cut the hardy plank siding to refit the window frames and the cuts were sloppy and needed a ridiculous amount of caulking to seal. One window started leaking within a year and was told that the seal failed because we didn't paint the new frames to protect the caulking. Really? The seal on window properly installed should not depend on a coat of paint. I suspect the windows were not wrapped properly during the installation process and sealed before the new frames were put on. Be prepared to hire hey separate contractor to come out and paint your frames they do not perform this work even though they deem it necessary for proper seal. Very frustrating. read more

Loved this service. Prior to the installation the representative that came to my house was great. He explained everything to me. Not only that but he did not try to sell me a more expensive unit then the one I needed for my small house. At installation the guys showed up with masks and were polite and considerate. They even made a needed adjustment to my heating system. The supervisor came by to check the progress and suggest a change which I appreciated. It was an excellent experience. I do NOT recommend Washington Energy Services to anyone looking for a mini split heat pump install in Seattle. What a headache. To cut a long story short, the HVAC contractors did a terrible install job (3 leaks in the line set, refrigerant lines were connected to the wrong head units) and it took FIVE follow up visits to identify and fix the problem. During this chaos, I got to meet 6 different HVAC guys- only one of them figured it out on the 4th visit. Worst part is that they kept recharging the refrigerant while there were still leaks in the system; and all of it leaked into the atmosphere. R410A is a powerful greenhouse warming gas that takes decades to decay. I feel terrible.. During the 2 weeks it took to finally get it fixed, management never reached out to me, and the front office scheduling staff were not pleasant to work with. Like, we went with the most expensive bid and I would expect an apology for poor work. Bottom line: Skip Washington Energy Services, their staff don't know what they're doing and they will end up doing installing wrong. read more

I had a annual service done for heating and cooling system by Bredan Fisher and he was excellent at it. He not only services the system but also answered all my questions patiently. He was able to troubleshoot few things with heating and root cause it with suggestions on how to keep the system healthy. He is very knowledgeable and provides a great service. I called to have a hybrid heat pump water heater installed. These folks were great start to finish. I called a few other companies and they were all clueless to the new hybrid tanks. Washington Energy Service knew what I was asking for and clearly had experience. We scheduled and even did price quote over the phone and pics. The covid-19 lockdown complicated install time but they communicated frequently until we could find a mutually agreeable time. They handled permitsx taking old equipment, rebates, everything, it could not have been easier. The install went great, i could see it was a quality job, done in a few hours. The inpector came yesterday and commented on the excellent install quality. I recommend them as a very professional company with reasonable, if not cheap, pricing. read more

Stellar service from the quote to the finished product. We had a few things done - our furnace was already set up for A/C, done by WES back in 2008, so we need to finish out the project finally and actually install the outside condenser, the inside A/C set up, and a new condensate pump. While they were doing this, they discovered a problem with our fuse box (that was original to our 1971 home) and gave us a great deal on a new one that Lorin and Bryce just got done installing. Everyone was professional, respectful of our home and yards, fast, thorough and downright fun to work with. The whole project was not cheap - about $16,000 total, but done right and on our time frame, and at the midway point for bids. We would, and will, absolutely use them again! read more

Overall we were happy with both the sale and installation process. We had a somewhat major problem arise when the installers were placing a part of the furnace into the wall of the garage and they hit a water pipe with a nail. Now there was no way for them to know a water pipe was running behind the wall and upon learning they hit the water pipe they immediately turned off the water. They fixed the water pipe which meant opening up the wall. After fixing the water pipe they properly patched the wall. What could have been a huge disaster was quickly addressed. Martin was my main contact and he was very responsive to my numerous questions. The schedulers made sure I had all the information, including permits, that I needed. We chose this company only slightly based on $ as the 3 companies we contacted were similar in this regard. High pressure, insensitive sales people. While expecting our second child, we endured a two hour in-home product sales pitch from these people for new windows. No measurements were taken, yet we were handed a bid for $10,000. As we ushered the gent to the door, the price dropped by $5,000. We still wanted to think about it and get competing bids. Through nobody's fault, that night my wife miscarried the child at the beginning of our second trimester. The next day the salesman called pressuring to close the sale. I related the unfortunate incident that had occurred and told him my mind was not on windows at the moment. He offered "condolences." But, the next sentence out of his mouth was heartless and chilling: "Well, you'll get over this and still be living in the house so don't you think you should take this deal?" I, very unpolitely, told him where he could hang his double-paned windows. Never, never, never, ever calling these folks again. It would be a waste of electrons just to complete the call. read more

W.E.S. used to be an honest company but that has evidently changed- at least in the branch that sells & services furnaces. For twenty years I've trusted them and they've done good work on more than one project here at the house. However, two days ago, on a routine furnace-maintenance visit. their tech seriously misinformed me about the state of my furnace. He led me to believe it was malfunctioning (giving off high levels of carbon monoxide) and would need to be replaced. Over the next two days I got new readings from two other companies who found that the furnace was old, but, working just fine, and that if it had been giving off such high levels of CO other measures would have had to be taken immediately. When I reported the 'error' to W.E.S. they sent out a new tech whose reading agreed with the other two companies and he lightly explained that "his meter will have to be recalibrated." So one star for good work in other departments - worth more than one; but a minus-several for their furnace division. read more

The first service person told me to hire a plumber to repair a tankless water heater that Washington Energy had installed. He charged me $126 to tell me it was broken. The next two service people came and apparently assessed the situation. I was given no timeline. I called and was not ever confirmed a time for repair. Finally, after the service charge of $1000 we had hot water - ON THE 7th day after I first called. read more

You know, a four-hour time period at which WES is due to arrive is just not acceptable. I waited four hours for them, from 8:00 in the morning to noon. I made a few calls for updates, and all the responses were inaccurate. Could they not say, well, you're not first in line, so it's probably more like 9:00 to noon, or could they not call and say, okay, it's probably going to be an hour from now? I suppose the actual inspection was fine--who knows--but I'm not fond of their lack of concern for people's time. read more

We installed a heat pump from them about 10years ago and ever since we have done annual maintenance with them, not even checking other places because we believed that they would do their job right. We have been paying over $500 annually for just maintenance of heat pump, tankless water heater. This year, the heat pump broke (there was a leak), and we asked them to come out. They charged $1400 for the maintenance service, then returned to detect the leak in the heat pump that they charged $600 additional. Then they gave us two different options. One with brand new heat pump with the cost of $8000 or two with the repair with the cost of $4400. When we felt that they are over charging, we looked around other places finding out both places only charge us less than $2000. I understand it's a hard time for everyone due to covid, but we customer also cannot afford that much, and we wonder why somewhere else has really lower price even for the maintenance. I'd check with home advisor which companies are recommended in the site first. read more

Then he said his rep had to leave for a death in the family. I understand that happens and I'm sorry for him. But a simple phone call from them would have been nice instead of me chasing them. They misdiagnose the heat problem. They said the blower motor had died. They said it might need a new control board but that would take three weeks and cost $650. It's been really cold - so I called another company- the new person connected the blower motor and it worked fine. We ordered the control panel on Amazon and it arrived in 5 days. It cost $158. The windows leak water through the top and it seems to me just as much air seeps through as our old windows. They also said they would check the gas in the windows and replace if needed over the time of the windows, NOT. They also said it they get broken they would replace them, forever, NOT. In fact, I tried calling several times, left several messages and it took them over 2 weeks to return my call, only to say they don't do that. So that makes them a thief and a liar.
