Amazing breakfast and brunch downtown restaurant that I always forget about. Might expect to wait cuz it's a happening place. Waited for 30 minute but it was worth it. . I got there 3 eggs omelet which was a lot and actually sausage you don't have to count. They give you a lot of meat in the omelet. Chicken fried steak was ok. Biscuit and gravy is definitely a must. Not sure if I like the concept of bill paying after. U have to take ur bill and wait in line to pay. It is just time consuming. read more

Nestled in the heart of downtown. This place was packed on a Sunday morning around 9. The staff was very helpful and overly nice. Quick in and serviced nicely. The tables have fun facts about lighthouses and the brick walls make you feel you are in a true local quaint place. Reasonable prices for the helping size you get. Very very family centric!!!! For breakfast we had coffee (decent), hot cocco (decent add the whip) and water cause no lemonade is available. This is the kind of hole in the way places that I love! It's a nice little hole in the wall that has great breakfast food and coffee. Every time we come into town we come to this place. We also always leave with a couple of bottles of their Gunslinger hot sauce since we don't live in town. The portions are a good size, the staff is always friendly and they are average priced so I can't complain at all. It gives you that little hometown feel with delicious breakfast food. I could be bias because I love breakfast and I love hole in the walls but whatever....it's my review! lol! read more

My family loves the Beacon for Sunday breakfast!! All the food I've tasted is good, especially the biscuits and gravy, and their hamburgers. I like that they bring me extra hot water in a little metal pot when I order hot tea. Service is always friendly and attentive. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they have a small dining area, so it's always a tight fit, and sometimes there may be a little wait, depending upon the size of your group. They do seem to seat people faster than other restaurants which are bigger, though. It's a Beacon phenomenon! Also, the parking mimics the seating, in that it's very tight. read more

We were driving from Oklahoma to Colorado, when we yelped for a good breakfast place in Wichita, KS. Several good options were closed on Mondays, so this was where we landed. And, we were glad we did. The service was very friendly and fast, and the food is great and plentiful. And it comes at a reasonable price. I think the only less-than-great comment I have would be about the biscuits and gravy. I'd have loved bigger chunks of sausage in mine. But, that may be personal preference. Also, typically, when we dine at an old diner like this, we come out smelling like the grill. But, even that was a pleasant experience, as they obviously are well ventilated. I'm not sure why anyone would give this place a poor rating, but I guess there's always the chance of catching the cook or wait staff on a bad day. Don't hesitate to try this place out. Update: went back last week and menu is condensed per Covid-19. Very very disappointed in staff. I could see straight into the kitchen and not one of thr kitchen crew had their mask over their nose. Why bother even wearing the mask then? I myself actually DO work in health care with the older population and need to be careful when I'm out and about. I don't really see myself returning. Not counting my eggs were totally runny. Not even a little bit white and soupy. Totally clear and raw. read more

It's a below average diner. I've been a few times and I haven't been impressed. Prices are reasonable, service is good, location is great, but the food isn't. I got the corned beef hash. It was basically a pan fried cake of puréed meat mixed with tiny processed potato cubes. Really low quality. Get some real corned beef and some real potatoes and cook them. read more

This is an excellent local breakfast joint - not brunch, but breakfast. It's that diner style joint, free coffee refills, server knows people's names because they eat there three days a week. It's that place, and I loved it. I had the Denver omelette with potatoes and toast, and it was just as you'd expect. Good, a bit greasy, and full of all the yummy fillings. Coffee, potatoes and toast all up to snuff. Hearty enough to get you through a big chunk of your day. It was also very fun people watching - lots of people seemed to know one another, but it's not like a small town. Just lots of people coming and going, and interesting banter while folks waited in line to pay. I would totally come back if the opportunity arose. read more

I love the atmosphere of the Beacon. They always have the sweetest ladies working upfront. I feel like I'm going to have breakfast/lunch at my aunts or grandma's house. They're very welcoming. I've never had an issue with the food being poor or the service being bad. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is that when I do order take-out, my food is melted through the bottom of the styrofoam boxes and the food has styrofoam melted into it. read more

We were headed to Texas from Minnesota on a road trip and we wanted to stop for breakfast. The Beacon Restaurant popped up on yelp. We didn't want to spend a ton of money but wanted quality food. As soon as we walked in the host welcomed us with a big good Morning and was very very kind. Our server was cheerful and friendly. She was singing and making funny jokes.
