I have lived in Des Plaines for a few months and thought I would give this place a try. I was by myself and asked to sit at a high top near the bar. The waitress came and so unfriendly and acted as though I was bothering her. I decided to finish my drink and appetizer and just pay and leave. I will never be back!!!!! Very nice place, went there numerous amount of times. Unfortunately we stopped going because of the limited menu. They haven't changed the menu in years or added on and you can only ear so much of the same thing. And now the up charges and add on charges for extra condiments, etc. are ridiculous. We just finished eating our Mother's Day brunch that we picked up this afternoon and it was amazing! We were sad that we couldn't come in for the annual luncheon because of this weird time, but, this exceed our expectations. This is my favorite local bar. They beer garden and outdoor bar are a great option in the summer. I'm the winter they close up the outdoor bar and it a great place to have a gathering. Had the worst service from the server. She was unfriendly and too-rushed. Never gave us water. This is a bar -- we get that. Nothing special with the food. But we came here because of the reputation of other two restaurants (Zias and Touche') that the owner has, which we love, this place is a disappointment. During pandemic where businesses need costumers, I think this should bit more friendly and attending to costumers. Oh well. Sorry - one star. read more

Great little spot! I came here with a group and we sat out on a patio. They had live music on a small stage outside on the night we went - it was great! They played 80's/90's/2000's classic music. The food was decent and the drinks were tasty. Service was excellent - the servers were communicating well and brought the food/drinks out quickly. The seats outside had little umbrellas above the tables - which was good because we got caught in a rainstorm towards the end.. the umbrella helped! It was late and we need to find a place to eat after landing in Chicago. Most of the places were closing at 9 PM and only one place was closing at 10 PM but we found this place which was open till 2 AM. It was an excellent choice. The stuffed jalapeños were so yummy that I was tempted to order another. I had a Greek salad and I couldn't even finish it but it was very good and my daughter had a Caesar salad. Decent, inoffensive food for a very cheap price. Good service too! I came here on a Sunday at 11 am for brunch and it was still fairly empty inside. Myself and 2 girlfriends ordered the following: - smoked Carolina wings - breakfast pizza, which had bacon and spinach and an egg your way on top -cheese curds with a dill pickle aioli The smoked wings were a dry rub, and the wings themselves were a tad bit dry. Good flavor though. The Carolina sauce came on the side and it was so tangy! I wish there was less vinegar on them. The breakfast pizza came with the over easy egg, like we requested, but the egg was halfway cooked through. The crust was good, cracker crust. The spinach and bacon were tasty too. However, the pizza came on a cardboard circle which made me think maybe the restaurant doctored up a frozen pizza? The cheese curds were tasty as were the sauce, but also a bit dry. Some of the fried bits didn't contain cheese inside. Overall, the food could be amazing, but it fell a little bit flat and not as memorable as it could be if they tweaked the little things. The service was awesome and our waitress didn't mess up the bill splitting though-- so props for that! Also, they decorated for their st patty's day and the inside was very whimsical. So for our wings, pizza, and curds, it was only $11 per person. read more

The inside looks really cute with the Christmas decor but the staff/people seemed very unwelcoming. There was a patron sitting across the bar from where my husband and I were sitting and she kept looking at us and occasionally point to us and whisper to the server and her companion. I heard her say in the many years she has been coming to Beacon tap, she has never seen us before in a hostile tone. It comes off as a place like if you are not a regular customer, then they don't want you there. I ordered the jalapeno burger which was alright, nothing special. Loved this place! Sports bar so they have high top tables as well as regular tables with plenty of TVs to watch games. They have a smaller menu but they do have a kids menu! We ordered the pretzel bites they were great. All 4 meals we ordered to the dessert was on point ! Service was great even with the Bears game on and it was packed. Definitely recommend it..only wish it was warmer out to use the outdoor seating area..maybe next time. read more

The newly re-opened Beacon Tap is awesome! The interior is brand new and looks great! Drink prices are definitely reasonable and the dinner I had with my wife was great! The stuffed Jalapenos are awesome because unlike most places that fry them - these seemed to be smoked! Easily the best version of this appetizer I've had from anywhere! I had a burger and my wife had some smoked turkey; both of which were excellent. The place was jam packed (which we are happy to see), but the service was lightning fast, and we were seated quickly. We ordered the popcorn crawfish and the fish and chips for dinner. Dinner was fast and quick to the table. The crawfish were very good and the dipping sauce was very nice. The potato pancakes served with the fish and chips are very good and crisp. We did enjoy the fish, however it was a bit greasy. Not Long John Silver's greasy, just too greasy!
