Was not busy at all, so that wasn't the reason. Ordering drinks was quite the task with Maya as she'd forget the order. Positive note, food was good and came out somewhat decent time. Lastly, billing was quite the task. Took about 20min and it was incorrect. How we were charged for 6 beers when the bucket comes with 5... not sure. Also incorrect mixed drinks were billed. Some of us gave cash, and she decided to keep the change and gave herself a 36% tip from me and 33% tip from the other. Because this process took so long just trying to leave - we didn't bother with getting the change... or we might have had to wait another 20-30minutes. read more

I actually drove by this place for years and never ventured inside, so it was nice to meet there with several friends for dinner. It's a lot larger than it seems from the outside. They have a large outdoor seating area with its own counter and bar area. Half of the inside is a dining room, the middle is counter bar service, and the other side is a sports book with a lot of large TVs to watch horse racing and other sporting events. There are TVs all around the restaurant, so we could watch various sports going on that evening. On the night we went, ten wings were nine bucks and you can select two sauces or dry rubs. They were also doing some drink specials and drinks weren't expensive either. We also shared cheese curds and pretzel bites before we all ordered wings. The curds were curds. The problem with cheese curds is that if they're not super hot, they're just meh. I get that businesses make good money from them, but ugh, not a great item to order. The pretzel bites are fine as well. They were okay. Again, not an issue with Player's Pub, it's just the nature of these two different appetizers. Anyway, I got the wings special with a side of tots and ranch and included a side salad. The salad was a nice size and was fresh. I really didn't expect, well, I didn't know what to expect, but it was a good salad. The ranch is good, too. They have a great ranch game. And was a perfect sauce to dip my tots in. The wings were very good too. I got the hot honey and the bourbon-bacon sauces on my wings. The wings were meaty, juicy, and flavorful. They had a bunch of sauces and I would definitely order them again and try of their other sauces. I'm also part of a burger club, and they have several burgers on their menu, so we'll have to come back to try their burgers. Our server was also very attentive, constantly checking on us and refilling our drinks. We'll definitely be back to Player's Pub and catch a game and grab some great food. read more

This was our second time at Player's Pub and grill and honestly... it says a lot that we came back within a week. It was that good. We were lucky enough to have the same host again -- Denise -- who is super friendly, easy to talk to, and makes you feel like a regular right away. That kind of familiarity really elevates the whole experience. We kicked things off with the Mexican wings and WOW... those were on another level. The seasoning is completely unique -- bold, flavorful, and something you don't come across often. Absolutely unforgettable. It's one of the new menu items that we tried . Then came the garlic Parmesan wings... and I'm not exaggerating when I say I was in heaven. Perfectly crispy, loaded with that rich, garlicky flavor -- exactly what you want in a wing. Another new item ! For my main meal I had the chicken BLT, which was seasoned perfectly and topped with this garlic spread that added an amazing contrast. Every bite just worked. My hubs had the Philly steak sandwich. Totally one of the highlights. The steak was incredibly tender, cooked just right, and paired with the perfect amount of mushrooms -- not too much, not too little. Everything was balanced and packed with flavor. And my drink of the night !? The hibiscus margarita completely stole the show for me. Refreshing, slightly sweet, and honestly kind of addicting -- I could've had a couple more. Overall, an incredible experience (again). Great food, great vibes, and great service. Safe to say we'll be back... probably sooner than later! Maybe even next weekend ! read more

Came on a Sunday to watch some football. They have $16 buckets on Sundays during the game so got one of those and some boneless wings with hot honey sauce. Wings were delicious. Service was a little slow at first cause I think they only had one server for the tables but our server was very nice and checked in frequently a free we got our food. Plenty of TVs in the bar but my only complaint was that there were only a few areas where you could sit and see multiple games comfortably and those were of course the first seats to fill up. I did a late night delivery at 11:45PM from Player's Pub n Grill via Uber Eats and expected dried out fare that would barely sustain us. Oh boy, was I wrong and so pleasantly surprised at the quality and sizing of the food. The fact that it exceeded my expectation so much so with execution and taste demands that I rate this 5 stars. The burgers could not have been grilled any better - they were a perfect medium doneness with thick cut smoked bacon that was not over or under cooked. The blue cheese was chunky and perfect try meltingly, the patty was generous, tasted very fresh, and well seasoned. And the tater tots, golden fried and crisped to perfection. Best tots I've had in a while. I can't believe how well their kitchen executed this food past 11PM and how perfectly well it held up through a 40 minute delivery process while maintaining its quality. So good! Burgers are $16 each on Uber Eats and fees and tip was $14. read more

For context, we came on a semi-busy night with a band outside, but it was raining so they didn't play for the hour we were being served. The food was ok, the service was ok. When we got our bill, they charged us 20% tip and we HAD to pay it, even though we were a party of three. When I asked the woman in charge, she said it was so none of the servers were screwed over on a busy night. She also didn't bring me my right change and it took forever for us to get our food. I've been to this bar with co-workers on several occasions and have always had a decent time with getting food and drinks. We do come at off hours, i.e. I have not been here on a weekend night so I have no idea how crazy/hopping it can get. Most of my visits have been in the mid-afternoon. They have a good beer list and apps so they have what I need. I had no idea they have a back-room set up with this wall of t.v.'s that show harness racing and other sporting events broadcast from all over the county. I used the bathroom once and wandered into this t.v. room and to be honest, it was full of people watching harness racing from Baltimore and it seemed like many had bet the mortgage on these races!! Laughing, crying bettors screaming for joy or anguish!! Gambling is definitely not my scene but it was fascinating in a weird voyeuristic way!! I checked it out for a minute and then returned to the safety of my IPA. This is a nice place to have a beer and some chow. My friends have sung praises about this restaurant for bold flavors, big portions, low prices, and nice daily specials. On my visit here, I can confirm that these praises are true. This restaurant is kind of hidden a little off of Milwaukee Road, somewhat difficult to find if you don't have an idea of where to look for the restaurant. The parking is plentiful, but this place can easily get busy. The restaurant itself is fairly large, with plenty of space to watch games, enjoy a drink, enjoy a special event, or gamble. On this visit, I tried three items. Here were my thoughts on them: - Fish & Chips: Enormous fillets of beer battered flounder -- firm and thick with a crispy and flavorful batter. Served with crispy and lightly seasoned house cut fries. - Fettucini Jambalucci: A tasty mix of andouille sausage and tender grilled chicken. The vodka sauce binds all the components together well. - Cajun Alfredo: Not as flavorful as the jambalucci - but I did enjoy the creamy alfredo sauce mixed with mushroom and red pepper. The garlic bread was crispy and flavorful. Overall, I like the combination of low prices and big portions at this bar -- in addition to fairly nice presentation and interesting choices on their menu (like zucchini fries, drunken mussels & clams, pork chop sandwich, aged steak, etc.). I'm looking forward to returning and trying more items soon. read more

Came in on a week night with all tables open and only the bar full. Ordered the pretzel bites and southwestern egg rolls for the appetizer. Then boneless wings, half red sweet chili and half Parmesan, with a side of sweet potato fries. The pretzel bites were okay, but the southwestern egg rolls were awful! The boneless wings were okay but the red sweet chili sauce was way spicer than expected- the teriyaki sauce was terrible. The sweet potato fries were okay. The service was bad though, the waitress made it feel like taking our order and asking for more water refills was a huge inconvenience. The food isn't good and the service was terrible. Wow! For a pub and grill, this place exceeded all expectations. The service was spectacular. I'm pretty much our server was very new. He looked pretty young. But did he take care of us! We could tell all of the other patrons seemed to be enjoying their service too. They were all very attentive. We ordered the fried pickles to start! Being from Texas we know our fried pickles, these cane as fried pickle spears! Haha idk, wasn't expecting that. They were good. I'm vegan and my husband isn't. They had the impossible burger for me and although I would order a modified version than the one on the menu (thick cut cucumber and hummus?) it was tasty. Very friendly place that was a good stop for a burger and beer. I was staying a night at the Motel 6 next door and found this place on Yelp. Within a couple of minutes of coming in, one of the regulars offered to buy me a shot of Malort & then bought me a beer when i turned down the shot. While I was at first thrilled when I realized it was a very large, shareable portion, when I opened the box I quickly realized they were inedible. Not sure the photo will do the trick but they were all just black. The $9 pretzel bites were just frozen bagged pretzels tossed in a microwave and tossed with salt. Like little pieces of rubber. My boyfriend got the meatball grinder sub and he didn't like it very much but I had a bite and I give it a 8/10 and will order it for myself next time. Top that off with their Oreo cheesecake!!
