I was so looking forward to meeting up here with a friend for coffee and breakfast pastries. We had planned a lovely morning to hang and chat but after walking in to order I asked where their restroom was and they told me they didn't have one. I thought they assumed I was not staying and explained I was meeting a friend and was happy to order and sit first but they told me again there was no bathroom here. So, sadly I had to leave. I could not picture any kind of comfortable morning with coffee in a coffee shop where I could not once or twice empty my bladder. We went down the street to a crepe place and have made this our monthly rendezvous. I don't know how you can have a cafe with tables and chairs and no bathroom. I haven't been in the storefront for this business since they bought it from the previous owners, two years ago (?). Today, I was at the farmers market in Pawtuxet and saw some nice looking pizza slices, and picked out two as well as two scones, before I saw that the table was set with products from "Beans and Buns." I almost said "no, thanks" but shrugged and went through with the purchase. Sorry that I did. I had a pizza slice when I returned home. IT WAS AWFUL. I didn't notice until I took the paper off, but it wasn't a pizza per se, but a lot of tomato sauce on thick bread, with some "pizza cheese." I popped it in the oven for three minutes, but even so, the bread did not have the consistency of fully baked bread. The sauce tasted bland, with a hit of rancid something. I threw both pieces out. I am apprehensive about trying the scones. Needless to say, I will continue to avoid this joint. My gut is still burbling. read more

My go to stop for breakfast. They have the best chai latte I've ever had in my life!!! You gotta get spiced tho. It's good hot or iced. And the bagels and breakfast sandwiches are good too but they do take a couple minutes to make so just plan that in your morning or order online. Staff is always nice and working hard! I come here often and was really disappointed to find out that they no longer give you chips and a pickle when you order a sandwich and yet still jacked up the price by $3. I've been here three times. The prices are very high although the cinnamon rolls are excellent. The inside is small and nothing special. The reason for the low score is the staff is consistently rude and makes it very clear through their tone and body language that you are bothering them. If slow service, high prices, and a less then engaged staff is your thing then this is the place for you. read more

Love this place! Food is delicious, people are friendly, and it's super easy to order online or in person. The Burrito Bowl is a fresh, tasty and protein packed riff on Mex food featuring grilled chicken cubes over rice, beans and crushed blue chips in a mildly spicy sauce. Stand out accompaniments are a cilantro lime crema (in separate container to use as desired) and perfectly ripe fresh avocado slices. Friendly staff and good selection of treats. Coffee varies in quality which is hard to understand. It's hard to get past the strong smell of cleaning supply that is always in the store and permeates the packaging for the pastries. Bagels shouldn't have a light Lysol smell. Many friends have commented on the same problem. Would also be nice to have a fully contactless payment option during pandemic instead of having to sign a printed receipt each time. This was the most unpleasant place I've been to. We went in with great expectations since we peered through the window and saw a wide variety of options. The unpleasant experience started with the man waiting on us who was the rudest person who should not be serving people! There are no prices posted and since I've never been simply asked, do you have just regular iced coffee, he snipped, right there on the breakfast board! So I ordered a large iced coffee, a cinnamon bun, and a breakfast sandwich with a couple of extras. Then came the shock, $27.00! What! We asked how much the sandwich was and he said the cinnamon bun was $6.50, I'm like no I don't want that. Then he gives us a new total $13.77, what the hell! I don't know how this was determined because I wasn't offered a receipt, so what was removed that cost $14.00? We'll never know because we won't be going back! We've ordered bagels from Beans and Buns a few times now. Due to COVID19, there is usually just one or two people working, taking online orders, phone orders, AND walk-up orders. They are ALWAY hustling, and having worked as a barista myself, I can tell they are juggling a lot, and yet they have always been friendly when interacting with customers. My partner went in to pickup our online order the other day and said a customer was being very rude- complaining out loud that they were taking too long and being argumentative when the barista was trying to apologize for the delay. We felt awful, because they are obviously trying their hardest and doing a great job during such difficult times. We wanted to leave this review to say we appreciate the staff and we've always been impressed with their prompt service and the quality of the food and drinks.
