Very unorganized; four parties were sat in front of us, service is slow, it took forever to get our coffee, and the food came out cold.

It was my first time there last Saturday. I wanted to go for lunch with a friend and it was over 30 minutes wait. I never had a more horrible experience in a restaurant. I was sitting on a small, wooden colonial type chair, it collapsed, and all four legs of the chair split into pieces, and I fell straight down very hard. A friend and other customers tried to help me out. I Received no help from the restaurant, no special treatment or act of kindness or discount. My neck and shoulders were sore for 48 hours and will never go there again. When I asked the owner for her name, she gave me her business card, handed it to me, and said nothing. We were walk-ins so I guess we can't complain about the terrible location of our two-top table. Right in the path of the kitchen, wedged between the tiny bar and a tall cabinet. My back was against the piece of furniture with all the dish and glass storage - literally. Servers constantly walking by us every few seconds going in and out of the kitchen, bumping our chairs with their feet and reaching for dishes literally above my head. The plants on the ledge next to me were mostly dead. That being said, I hope and doubt they would not seat a couple with reservations there. I asked for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which there was none by the glass. No Chardonnay by the glass, either. What's up with that? The "cute" menu was dirty, dog-eared pages on a clipboard, and it was an extremely limited menu - aside from the many pages of cocktails and wine (mostly bottles) offerings. We ordered the chicken pot pies as nothing else on the short entree menu appealed to us. There was a $50 prime rib, a gnocchi dish, and two or three other heavy offerings. Our pot pies came with an enormous mountain of oily pie dough even Pillsbury wouldn't claim, covering a greasy, boiling, serving of filling. No vegetables to be seen aside from the huge whole clove of garlic in my pie. When I pointed that out when the man in charge asked how our meals were, he said "That's how we do things here." The place was busy, it seemed like there was plenty of help working, but we are obviously not the target market. The bill came in a smudged, torn paperback book - another attempt at "cute". What a great find. Jim ordered the full English breakfast (Tolkien) and was very pleased. I would say if you order that be sure you are really hungry. It is good amount of food, but he said every bite was delicious. I had the English scones with clotted cream and Lemon Curd. OK I'll admit that when I used to hear about "clotted cream" I was a bit put off and had never tried it before. So although I have had lemon curd often and knew what to expect, the clotted cream was wonderful and made a great combination on the scones. Yum! We ate inside and what a cozy atmosphere. Just a lot of unique touches including the bill being delivered inside a book. Dillon did a great job and it was so nice of the owner to also stop by to chat. Bentley wasn't with us today, but next time we will take advantage of the patio. The evening menu looks fabulous. We will be back! read more

After having had an excellent lunch at Bear & Dragon a few months ago, I was anticipating a thoroughly excellent dining experience. Instead, I left sorely disappointed, and with a huge wallet wound. The bright points: The atmosphere in this place is very pleasant. Our server was delightful, attentive, and fun - a great asset to the restaurant. Their mushroom bisque is the best I've had. One member of our party ordered the gnocchi in mushroom sauce, which was excellent and the best dish at the table. The dark points: When a main dish costs $50, it better be simply spectacular. I ordered the prime rib, which though cooked perfectly was rubbery in consistency and nearly flavorless. Another person at our table ordered the $49 filet mignon, which though well flavored and appeared properly cooked, was reported to be dry. The other main dishes ordered left those who ordered them un-wowed. For a bill of $440 ($376 pre-tip) for 5 people (including an average of 1.5 drinks per person), the food unimpressive. Had the two beef dishes been priced at $30 or so, I would have felt the price-to-value ratio was fair. As it was priced, I felt stung. This is clearly a place with great potential, but they need to up their game and tame their lofty prices. read more

Such a cute little place right in the heart of downtown Prescott. We ordered our sandwiches and opted to take them across the street to the plaza for a picnic under the trees. Highly recommend doing that, but if you'd rather not there is ample seating close by. My sandwich, The Traveler, was delicious with fresh pesto, tomato and mozzarella on a ciabatta bread. Amanda, Thanks for the reply but my reservation was for last Friday. You offered me the 8th and I told you we were leaving for 2 weeks on Saturday so you found us a table at 7:30. I asked if you had everything you needed (name, phone, etc) and asked if someone called with an earlier reservation please call me and you said you would. I wanted to discuss the problem I had on August 9, 2024 with the $17 martini and ended up paying $14 for a friggin Shot of vodka I left a review on Yelp and obviously she wasn't happy with it so I was trying to resolve something. I left a message on their phone, but apparently it doesn't accept messages or she just wanted to neglect my message. We ordered drinks and starters right away and asked to taste a couple of wines to have with dinner. 5 minutes later she brought the tastes, we chose the wine and added our entree orders. Over an hour passed with still no entrees. We tried to get our server's attention but finally after an hour she did come by. She said that she realized the kitchen had not prepared our meals but "we needed to understand that it was because they practice coursing". It was our fault for not ordering everything at the exact same time (even though we ordered entrée's literally 5 minutes after starters). She took no accountability. We then walked to the front and asked to speak to the owner...he proceeded to mansplain to us what "coursing" is. Really?? My husband and I are vice president execs in the valley and spend Summers in France eating our way through Michelin starred restaurants. Our second take at Bear & Dragon! Lunch time! We went in just before twelve and had no wait to be seated and walked out just before 1 and there was a 25 minute wait for two, so I'd definitely suggest getting there early for lunch since there's no reservations before dinner. What I love about bear & dragon is that all the soups are gluten-free, all the sauces are gluten-free, and every sandwich can be made with a gluten-free bun! They make a note about my allergies when making my sandwich, and there is no cross-contamination in the fryer so I can actually enjoy my potato chips with my sandwich! The Potato soup was absolutely amazing and I love that I was actually able to enjoy a potato soup that was gluten-free! Cannot wait to try for dinner. I am so excited every time I come here. If I had a criticism to give, it is that I hate paying additional for a piece of bread that will make the sandwich smaller than if I was just eating regular bread, it's not like I want to have an allergy/autoimmune disease read more

I really wanted to like this place especially since I have tried several times to get a reservation. One of the times I had a reservation the chef got sick and they closed down the restaurant for a couple days. They did call to reschedule but I was not in town. The quality of food was not good. We started off with a Cesar salad and the dressing was very unique but I was not a fan. The biggest disappointment was the prime rib. It was advertised as a crusted prime rib however, the crust was missing. The meat was super fatty so we barely got half the portion we were served. The spinach had zero seasoning and the potatoes were actually the only thing I found enjoyable. I felt the price of the meal was way overpriced for what was edible. The seating was very cramped and not very comfortable. I felt it was steakhouse prices for Denny's quality. read more
