After Yellowstone trip, exited to Montana entrance of the park. We were able to explore the town. This Bake shop was highly recommended for their famous Big cinnamon pastry. At 2 pm , walked in and the very nice server said " We are out of cinnamon since 11am" Oops, no more. Anyway ended up buying their Lemon Blueberry Muffin which was so good . The tart taste of lemon was so distinct. A lot of blueberries and the muffin was so moist and delicious. With that we got Americano decaf coffee freshly made. Overall it was a great dessert stop. Service was great and options were unique. Everything looked delish and I loved my bear claw.

We stopped here for breakfast during our visit to Yellowstone NP. They have a variety of bakery/pastry/breakfast items. Their prices are more affordable compared to other places in the area. They have cinnamon rolls for $6.50 and pastry items for $4.25. We came here twice so I was able to try their huckleberry bear claw ($4.25) which was pretty good along with both a hot and iced coffee.

Bear Country Bakery is known for its Cinnamon Rolls and Bakery items that you can grab and go on your way into the park. (See picture of cinnamon roll the size of your head!) We went for a birthday cake early in the morning hoping to order one and pick it up later in the day. The baker apparently was not in the mood to make a cake, and told the girl to tell us she was out of town. They did however have a selection of beautifully frosted cupcakes ready to go that you bought by the each. We picked an assortment of frosting colors, and the cashier helped us pick some birthday candles to match, which was very nice. The cupcakes looked pretty, but had no flavor and were very dry, and only came in chocolate and vanilla-ish flavors. At least we were able to have pretty cupcakes to celebrate a birthday while away from home.

This place has amazing cinnamon rolls and are they ever huge! My husband and I got a cinnamon roll (we split it) to have with our afternoon coffee and we also picked up a chocolate bear claw and a white chocolate raspberry bear claw for breakfast the next day. Everything was very good. The huge cinnamon roll was only $6.50 and it was very fresh. The claws were $4.25 each. The gal that waited on us was very nice too. It's probably a good thing that we don't live in the area, I'd hate to make this a regular stop.

Excellent cinnamon roll. Large, very soft dough and not overly sweet.

Our server was efficient, he brought us a pitcher of water after we quickly downed our first glasses. We ordered 3 burgers and the steak sandwich. The burgers and fries were all great. The steak sandwich had maybe 2oz of meat on it and a few arugula leaves. We called attention to the measly sandwich with the waiter...like surely this can't be right for $33? He didn't act like it was unusual, but offered to swap it out for another burger at our request. I wish I would've taken photo of it, because it was comical. Especially next to the huge burger and huge turkey club sandwiches they were bringing out. There were a LOT of flies and bees around our table constantly. All other tables had one of those fly fans on them, but we didn't get one. The flies were abundant and annoying. This was the first meal we've eaten at Big Sky, so I can't say whether or not we would return. Perhaps at dinner. It has a great reputation. But I wouldn't order the steak sandwich again.

Chef's kiss! Our daughter got the Magic Carpet Ride, which was a pretty good deal for $10 for a small burger and fries. We shared the "GNAR-BE-QUE" ($19 with no sides) and also got some loaded fries and carrot fries. Yes, we were being total fatties after a day of skiing, don't judge! Of course it ended up being way too much food. The burger is pretty good, but the carrot fries were undercooked and the cheese fries were essentially just smothered and became way too soggy. Everything was also super salty. One of us appreciated the spicy margarita and they do have a bunch of beers on draft. This actually would have been a mostly positive review but then we allowed our daughter to get one of those ridiculous milkshakes ($19) and it was downright disgusting. Re. the strawberry milkshake, which was called "Unicorn Toot" (BARF), the actual milkshake portion--aka the heart of the matter--was entirely liquid. Zero element of ice cream or texture and there was so much crap all over it that it was beyond over the top. Cotton candy in a cone plopped on top??! Just WHAT. It's like they came up with the idea with AI it was so dumb. Listen, we had a good time hanging out with a friend there that we randomly met up with at Big Sky, but it seems like there are way better places to eat. We'd skip this place. As soon as the doors open at 5:00PM, if you're not already in the queue to get your name on a list for a table, you may be waiting for a bit. We ended up dining her twice, over the course of two days, as our road trip through Yellowstone found us back here at Old Faithful both evenings. During our first visit, our server Hudson, who honestly was one of the best servers we've encountered anywhere (management, take note!), was genuinely pleasant to interact with, efficient, engaging, and accurate. We split an amazing charcuterie board (probably the best thing on their menu), the lamb lollipops (man, that chimichurri is on another level!), and a couple of cocktails, and had a wonderful experience. During our second visit, things were still very good, although I think we'd been spoiled a bit by Hudson. Our server wasn't quite as charming (Hudson was engaged with other tables nearby, to our chagrin), and our meals not quite as enchanting (still good, but lacking a little something), but by no means wasn't a bad experience whatsoever. For specifics: my wife's wild mushroom pasta, to which she added some grilled shrimp, was really great...but would have been less so without the added shrimp: too small of a portion, and no significant source of protein or substance - just a plate of noodles and fungus. That may sound like a nitpick, and in truth, it is, but as-is, it's lacking something, and doesn't warrant its price point. All things considered, the Obsidian Room does most things right, and a few things need improvement, but when it comes to service, they're knocking things out of the (national) park...and considering the colossal size of Yellowstone, that's one hell of a home run!

I can't really explain it any better. It's not bad, but at the price point, one would expect more. Staff: They will take your order and bring your food out, but don't expect anything else. You get what you get and won't have an opportunity to fix it. Quality: go ahead and roll the dice. My son ordered a smash burger the first visit and it was to order. We both ordered one on our second visit and both were missing lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. Oddly, mine came out on two bottom buns. Again, given their service, you have suck it up because nobody will fix it. I saw a fairly decent sized man order a steak next to me and he only ate a few bites,,,that told me all I needed to know about that 50 buck entree. Pricing: it is expensive for what you get, but, relative toward other options in the area, it isn't horrible. Stick to the cheaper options and roll with the punches. Hope this helps!
