Stopped by Running Bear Pancake House during our Yellowstone trip and this ended up being such a cozy little breakfast stop. I ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage, green bell peppers, onions, and eggs with buttery hash browns on the side, plus the soup of the day which was the Tuscan soup, and both were really good. One of my friends ordered the cinnamon roll pancake, another got the classic breakfast with buffalo sausage (which was surprisingly delicious), and the other ordered a meatless breakfast burrito. Everything at the table looked fresh and hearty. I also loved how easy checkout was. They bring the receipt directly to the table with a QR code so paying was quick and convenient, and our server was super accommodating by splitting the bill four ways with no issue. The restaurant itself has that cute cozy cabin-style feel, plus they sell fun T-shirts and souvenirs inside. Extra shoutout for helping me wrap my breakfast burrito to go before our flight. They brought me foil paper so I could keep it warm, tossed it in my bag, and yep... I ended up eating it on the plane later. Wonderful experience! Got here on a Sunday at 830am and only ~10 min wait for 2 and a toddler. It was pretty busy so if you don't want to wait, get there early. I got the eggs benedict and a cinnamon roll pancake. Both were super flavorful Our daughter had a kids breakfast meal and she enjoyed it. Super family friendly environment. Running Bear was one of my top 3 meals while in West Yellowstone. It's a very popular spot, so don't be surprised if you have to wait a bit for a table. I opted for the blueberry pancakes and a side of bacon. They went a little heavy on the blueberries, but I enjoyed them nonetheless. The bacon was cooked perfectly. Went to Running Bear Pancake House for breakfast and it was a pretty disappointing experience overall. The food was mid at best, nothing special after the amount of time we waited. It took forever just to get someone to take our order, and then the breakfast itself took a solid 40 minutes to come out. On top of that, I asked for a coffee refill and never got it. The server seemed completely lost the whole time and even brought us the bill while we were still eating. Between the slow service, lack of attention, and average food, it honestly wasn't worth it. We stopped here as we were heading out from our trip to Yellowstone in October. It was a cold morning and we were lucky to beat the morning rush and get seated as a group of 7. I went simple and made my own omelette with hash and with toast and jam. It was very simple and well done. I ordered the chorizo scramble which was served with two flour tortillas. The scramble itself was Delicious and packed with ample goodies, however I would've done without the tortillas since they were heated up in a microwave and turned hard because Of it. Their hot chocolate is advertised as their "house special" and let me tell you - it doesn't disappoint. The hot chocolate was decadent and rich beyond your expectations. Not for the faint of heart but it sure is quite the chocolatey treat. Their biscuits are also made in house so if you're a biscuit fan, they're worth trying. Great service! Arrived at a busy time and got in within 15 mins. The host and owner Jeff was super nice, sat me while i was waiting on my parents and then helped direct them to where I was sat. He also got me water and coffee immediately after seating me! Our waitress Emma was really friendly and quick service! I thought the pancakes and French toast might be something special. They weren't bad but also nothing special either. My wife ordered a hot tea that took forever to come. Turns out if you want anything besides hot coffee the waiter can't get it for you. Tea has to be delivered from a single barista who serves the entire restaurant. How hard is it to let the waiter bring hot water and a tea bag? This place gets a waiting line pretty quick so get there early if you don't want to wait. read more

When I came in, it was still empty, but it quickly filled up with large groups of guests as I was eating. I'm assuming if you come in a bit later in the morning, there will probably be a wait. I ordered a coffee, which was alright. All of the food was fast and affordable. I definitely felt ready to start my day after finishing everything, as it was a good serving size. I would say that the food is pretty classic diner fare, similar to other breakfast joints. You'll be able to find pancakes, benedicts, chicken fried steak, and more! Talk about great service! This place had one party of 30 and another part of 18! We were only a party of two and we were seated in 15 minutes. The menu is awesome and the little house is absolutely adorable. If you are spending some time in town keep in mind this is one of the few places that serves breakfast late. We stayed near this place and it doesn't look like much on the outside but judging by the crowds we knew we hit the right place. Put your name in and take a pager and you will soon be seated. The menu has a lot of choices where you can't go wrong. I like that you can swap the toast/hash browns to try their namesake pancakes.
