I have a pool system that has been operating with no problems for 12 year. I have replaced the pump and heater etc., but never had any issue with the operation electrically. I turned the pump on and saw smoke from the controller box and the pump wouldnt work. The home warranty sent these guys out and they said its not covered because i was "missing components". I know the home warranties are a scam, but they showed me the work order from the employee and what he told us what totally different than what he reported to the Home Warranty. He told us he wasnt even an electrician and it was clearly an electrical issue, but thats not what he reported to AHS. They are all in cahoots for the quick fee and then they move on. We have worked with Bear Creek twice. Last summer they fixed our AC and this spring they replaced our pool pump. Valerie and Barry are the best. We had to go through our home warranty which is always nerve wracking but Valerie answered all my questions during numerous calls I made checking on the status of our issues. He came out to my house because one of my air ducts was not getting d much air flow but we did a couple tests and he explained what it was and that it was normal due to the design of the ducts in a manufactured home. He even came back after he already got in his car to leave and showed me a diagram he drew of the ducts under my house to give me the full picture of how they work. Terrible vendor. They are all about making crazy nonsense excuses for why they will not fix a heater when it is covered by a warranty company. They get paid by warranty companies to not fix problems instead of doing what they are legally required to do. After a lot of debate they reluctantly replaced a part for a heater that was partially working. Now the heater does not work at all and they refuse to take any responsibility claiming the heater is old. HORRIBLE VENDOR. Do not use ever. read more

I have unfortunately had to have Bear Creek H&A out to our house at least once a year for the past several years and they have been able to keep our 17 year old air conditioning units running. Barry has been able to come out on short notice( usually when it's quite hot ) and get us back up and running quickly. He has been fair with his prices and I trust him. Do yourself a favor, just call BCHA. Don't get sucked into We Care's promises or "programs," we had the WORST experience with them. BCHA fixed a furnace that We Care estimated would cost over $1,200 to repair for less than half of that. Barry showed up, was professional and prompt and did the job. They sell and use GOOD quality parts, often made in the US rather than China, and are most importantly, honest. We will be using them for all our HVAC needs in the future. read more

Barry at bear creek was phenomenal!! He arrived on time and ready to work. He was able to get our heat and air working again quickly after we had promotional thermostats improperly installed by a local solar company. Not only was he able to fix the thermostats he had to replace the transponder as well. He also took the time to remove all of my old air filters. Barry also checked the location and function of the carbon monoxide detectors in my home. It turns out we should have more and the two that we do have are not working. After reading other Yelp reviews, we were still a bit anxious about an appointment we had made with Bear Creek. Our inital phone call was answered by a pleasant and curteous person, the air conditioning problem was described, and an appointment was made for 4 days out (with a 4 hour window). Between the initial phone call and the actual appointment, the company called us twice to confirm the times and let us know they would call if there were any cancellations made. Barry showed up at the appropriate time, took one look at the unit and told us what the problem was. He had parts with him and the unit was repaired within a half hour! Came out for a $75 Trip Fee per Fidelity Home Warranty. The A/C was leaking due to condensation & not cooling in one room at all. He said it was due to dust in the fins didn't chect the ducts as some were not circulating any air. He said he doens't get involved & to find a company that cleans A/C Units. I got Bear Creek Heating and Air via AHS Home Warranty. I never used them prior. My A.C. would not cool my mobile. I got an estimate from someone else 10 days ago (not through AHS) and I was told the compressor was bad, and I needed a new A.C. I was told the Freon was full. When Barry from Bear Creek came out today to service the A.C. it DID need 3 pound of Freon. The compressor was in very good condition as were other components. My A.C. is a 1993 and he gave it an 8 out of 10 in the shape it is in. I am enjoying a cool house for the first time all summer. The A.C. would run and run and the house heated up instead of cooling down, even in the middle of the night. Also when it reaches the temp I set it, it shuts off. Not only did I get a one day appointment, his office called to set the appointment the next day and Valerie who called, was professional. I highly recommend Bear Creek Heating and Air. read more

We've used Bear Creek for over 10 years for our 25+ year old wine country home, trying to maximize the old but inefficient HVAC that was installed. They've always taken great care of us, and Barry is the only contractor that you don't ever have to worry about getting multiple estimates. Barry does everything right, always quotes a fair price, is 100% honest, reliable, high integrity. One time he told me he didn't do some certain HVAC work any more, and told me to go get an estimate from someone else, but when that one was expensive, Barry said he'd do the work after all- at a much cheaper price than the other estimate. Horrible horrible horrible. Was sent through our home warranty. Had to wait one week for him to show up because he didn't want to work in the heat! Mis diagnosed the issue to a bad board. Home warranty would not authorize the repairs. Due to the quote he sent them, they wanted a second opinion. We called Wells plumbing. They came out the same day diagnosed the problem and fixed it in less than an hour. (It was a thermostat). Now I just have to try to get my$75 I paid to the home warranty company read more
