We rode jet skis over to this spot to grab a drink and maybe a few apps at this spot. When we arrived, we first asked if they had gas for the jet skis and she just kept saying she might be out but she wasn't sure. We weren't sure if that meant she was checking or not, but either way a bit awkward / rude. They were in fact out of gas, but ok we went out to the bar anyway for a drink. The manager, Charlotte, carded my friend who ordered the drinks. He is 26 years old and lives in Minnesota (we were on vacation in Lake Jackson). She said she didn't believe his ID and asked to see someone else's in our group. Our other friend went next, and she is from NY and Charlotte said nope. Then we tried to show ours (being from PA) and she wouldn't even bother checking them, just refused us service. We tried to offer to show other proof of age or identity, and she just kept rudely saying no. She also made some weird comments, such as "it would be different if you all were in your 50s" - is someone going to tell her the drinking age is 21 not 50? I would not go there if you are under 50 and don't have a Georgia ID. I wouldn't go there anyway - she slammed the bar window in our face and caused quite a scene (note this was also during a charity benefit that we were planning to support). Horrible. read more

We have been to the restaurant and marina twice since the new owner and new chef. The first time we went was on July 4. We had hoped to experience some of the chefs specials but on that holiday it was primarily a buffet with burgers and wings. With that said my wife and I were quite impressed with the quality of both the burgers and wings and especially the dipping sauces for the wings. On our second visit we brought family. There were a total of six of us and we each had different items from the chefs specials. Every one of them was excellent with loads of flavor. I know the new chef is trying to find items that work. While everything we had was extremely flavorful we felt that the falafel was not an item that would do well in this area. It was delicious, we just didn't feel it was something that would work here. Where they have made great improvements is putting a covering over the outside area. Also we felt our service was quite good. They could work on minimizing the flies in the outside area. One other thing. In our party there were three veterans. Two former regular service men and one a former national guard and army reservist. A very nice young man noticed the Navy veteran cap on one of the men in our party. He came over and thanked him for his service and talked with us for a while. After that he left. A few moments later our wait person came to us and told us that the young man had bought two rounds of drinks for us as well as the appetizer we had purchased. We had hoped to be able to thank this young man but he had left. All in all I would say keep giving this place a try because I'm convinced it's going to only get better. read more

New to the area, first time there. Saw good reviews on the Nextdoor app about it having a new chef from out of town and the food being better. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. We ordered the chicken cordon bleu with wild rice. The food came in a tiny white and red paper bowl, like carnival food. I honestly thought they were bringing us the wrong food. We got tiny plastic utensils. The food was very bland, no flavor at all. We used the table salt and pepper but ended up only eating half of the small portion. The view was nice but thats all the place has going for it. read more

Have eaten here several times since the arrival of chef Chris and while the food from the "Chef's Special" menu has has always been good, it continues to get better. Welcome to the lake and look forward to continued improvements. read more

Food is not bad whenever we go during summer, but waitresses & bartenders are their to make money only! They are extremely rude unless you're paying them! They're nasty, trashy, & it makes the whole experience awful! read more

I live on lake jackson, and had 3 friends in town visiting. I was excited to bring them to Bear Creek to get a drink since we can ride our jetskis there (I was a regular customer before this experience). When we got there, Charlotte (who told us she was a manager) refused to serve us before even looking at each of our IDs simply because our IDs were from different states. We are all 25-26 and she refused to even look at 2 of our IDs when we told her 2 of my visiting friends are from Pennsylvania. We told her we are 25-26 and visiting and would be happy to provide any additional proof of age or identity, but she told us we could go get a cop and then slammed the bar service window in our faces. It was beyond humiliating and caused a scene with all of the people around. It ruined my afternoon with my visiting friends who I was trying to show a good time on the lake. I'm assuming they've had problems with fake IDs in the past, but that does not excuse this horrible treatment. Maybe get a scanner then or try to learn how to look at IDs since you're a BAR? I can't believe the incompetence shown by a manager to not even be able to ATTEMPT look at our IDs simply because our IDs were not from GA. She treated us with such disrespect. If you're under the age of 50 and aren't from GA, be prepared to be turned away in the rudest way possible. I will not be coming to Bear Creek again, which is unfortunate since I was a regular customer before this experience. read more

Our party of seven, plus pooch, arrived to this outdoor eatery and left very disappointed. The dog friendly area was one of two tables. Our option was near several smelly gas cans. If they were trying to stay to code with the pup, they might want to consider meeting the code for flammables too. The food? Don't know we left. read more

Not many places near Atlanta where you can get really good food, adult beverages, while overlooking the lake and boat traffic. Friday evening there's karaoke and Saturday a dance band. Huge raised patio area and inside dining. Really different you need to give it a try. read more

Called restaurant and was told that they allowed dogs but only on the patio immediately upon arrival the staff of four nasty females approached us saying they had three complaints and we needed to leave because we brought our dog basically called me a liar A very unprofessional female, Lacey informed me that we had to leave because of code. I let her know that Park Tavern at Piedmont Park and 15th St. pizza in McDonagh allow animals and serve food so it has nothing to do with a health code or a food service code. Chris the owner called the police to have me arrested/removed this used to be a friendly place when it was own by Larry and Angie I hope Chris realizes that without profit there is no business. Just plain out my nasty attitude by all staff involved five different people couldn't have a reasonable attitude towards animals after they said hey we're allowed I hope they run across someone who is willing to go and exercise their civil liberties with service animals. Chris should realize it is discrimination against people with disabilities shameful behavior read more
