    Fried rice with chicken
    Carinna H.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a cozy and intimate dining experience, given we were the only ones in the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was excellent, and the staff are so kind and friendly. Our server even gave us some sake on the house since we had to wait awhile for our food (which we didn't mind). The food was pretty good, I liked the tempura and the fried rice, but teriyaki chicken wasn't great. The prices did seem a bit high. Overall a decent dining experience.

It got worse the longer it sat

This place went so down hill, they serve this as "fresh sushi". We just paid and walked out they were mad we didn't eat.

The food came fast, the waitress was friendly and the food was decent for Sushi in the Mountains. The only reason why I left 4 stars versus 5 was because they were out of a lot of food. We would definitely come back

Sashimi chicken teriyaki combo (came with rice and miso soup - not pictured)

We came to eat at 9:30pm on a Monday night. Despite almost being closed, the staff was incredibly welcoming and pleasant. The food took a while to come out, but it was because it was fresh and made to order. We ordered the vegetable udon, sashimi and chicken teriyaki combo, and negimaki beef (our absolute favorite and sooooo good). It appeared that the restaurant was being run by three older adults, and you could tell that even though the service was slower than the average sushi place, everything was delicious and made with love. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was clean, peaceful and welcoming and I recommend it to anyone who wants some excellent teriyaki and udon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will definitely visit again.

Our go to sushi spot in Big Bear! The Three Color Delight is a must order! Friendly staff as well :)

    BUG IN MY FOOD

BUG IN MY FOOD Worst Japanese- or any type of restaurant- I've ever been to. Took an hour to get our super simple order for take out. We saw people leave and get out of their seat because they hadn't been served and the place wasn't even that busy. Sushi guy was standing around doing nothing so it's not like they were under staffed. BUT THATS NOT EVEN THE WORST PART No no no. I get back to eat the food at my apartment and its a ridiculously small unseasoned dish that I could've made in 5 minutes for $2. I'm half way done eating and I thankfully- THANKFULLY spot a huge bug/beetle before I EAT IT. LITERALLY A HUGE BUG. IN MY FOOD. You would think, you would fucking think that in the hour they took to prepare this fine meal they would check for bugs or idk something. Maybe add a single veggie or a garnish or seasoning other than a borderline roach. But no. Literally ruined my life. Thanks a lot.

You really have to appreciate that this is a family run business. And when you do, you really appreciate the service and the food a whole lot more! They are a lot older so the service may be a bit slow but we really enjoyed our time and dinner there. We went during their happy hour 5-7 pm. Half off on selected sushi's. We liked the hand rolls and ramen a whole lot! Ramen is a hidden gem there.

This restaurant is truly exceptional! The hibachi dishes were incredibly delicious, evoking memories of Japan. The owners' warm hospitality transported me back to the heart of Japan. If it were possible, I'd gladly award them a 10-star rating. I'm definitely planning to return. I wholeheartedly endorse this establishment to everyone. Ps: I love Yuki-San energy!

As you walk up, you're greeted by a massive shark head and you can spot their fun desert decor like cactus and peach umbrella covers. Instantly you know you're going somewhere fun. When you walk in, you stand in a line to order your food off a screen, and they call your name when your order is ready. There are QR codes so you can order a drink while waiting and you'll be entertained by the quirky surfer bro who's calling out names when people's drinks are ready. Everyone is donned with Hawaiian shirts and look genuinely happy to work there. There's a big outdoor patio with those peach umbrella covers to provide some shade, as well as seating inside. It kinda feels like you're in Disneyland because there's so much decor and so many things to look at. While waiting to order food, I ordered the island style cold brew with macadamia nut milk. It was good! We also got a tropical gangster, a frozen drink with passion orange and guava and it was the perfect drink to sip on for a hot day. For food, we got the pele poke bowl and the cabo poke bowls. The portions weren't big, they come in small bowls, and you're paying about $20 each for them, but they were surprisingly good. Not the best poke ever, but good enough for Big Bear. Both bowls had ahi but different flavorings and toppings. The cabo came with crunchy wonton strips and jalapeños, while the pele came with rice and veggies like cucumbers and peppers. My bf and I split both bowls and we enjoyed them! This is def a must visit if you're in town!

The broth is very bland and taste like what you would get if you boil water and throw in some cheap miso paste. What is better than a hot steaming bowl of noodles and soup after a long day playing in the snow?…read moreNot much. It was one of those rare occasions that we get real snow in Big Bear. I had just gotten done snowboarding and I was seriously craving some pho or some ramen. I don't want to wait the 90+ min it would take to make it down the mountain so I searched Yelp to see what was available in Big Bear (the city). The first thing that caught my eye was the photos of the Taiwanese beef noodle soup. Now, I grew up eating this famous beef noodle soup so not only did I love the way it tastes, it also has layers of nostalgia for me. When you walk into the cute little restaurant, there isn't much to look at but the giant order screen is up front and enough seating for maybe 4-6 small groups of diners. I opted for a bowl of the beef noodle soup, a side of egg rolls and I also wanted popcorn chicken. My boyfriend wasn't super hungry so he ordered a side of rice and an extra side of noodles to go with the popcorn chicken. Good thing he didn't order anything more than that. The portion sizes were VERY generous. There was no way I was going to be able to eat all the beef in my bowl so I split my beef and some broth with my boyfriend. After both of us got our fill, we ended up taking about half the popcorn chicken home with us and realistically we should have taken the rest of the beef and broth I couldn't finish. I think in the future we will go in knowing that one bowl of beef noodles, plus the extra side of noodles (or two sides) would almost be enough for 3 people to split. I am very happy I found this place. The only thing I wish they had a better selection of is beverages. They only offer some canned Pepsi products and some alcoholic drinks. In summary, -the service, ambiance, and the section of drinks was Meh. -prices were on the higher side -but the portions justify the price. -the egg rolls were boring, -the popcorn chicken was good -the sauce the chicken comes with was delicious -but the noodles are DEFINITELY worth going back for!

Unfortunately, this visit felt very different. We arrived around noon, and the restaurant was completely empty. They had several TVs, so I asked if they could put on the World Cup. Our waitress declined, explaining that when games are on, customers tend to stay long after they've finished eating. While I understand that may be their policy, it didn't feel very customer-friendly, especially with no other patrons in the restaurant. I also asked if there was an outlet where I could charge my phone. When we found a nearby table with a wall plug, I asked if we could switch tables since we'd only been served water. The waitress said it would be "too confusing for the system" because our orders had already been placed, despite the restaurant being empty. She did offer to charge my phone from an outlet in the hallway, which I appreciated. I asked if they had a few of our favorite sushi items--things like a Las Vegas roll, Orange Blossom roll, or salmon collar (all very common at sushi restaurants back home in Las Vegas). The response seemed more confused than helpful, and overall the interaction just didn't feel very welcoming. On the positive side, they brought out complimentary shishito peppers and radish as an appetizer, which was a nice touch. My daughter really enjoyed the salmon teriyaki, and we also liked the chicken teriyaki roll. At the end of the meal, we had to flag someone down for our check and for to-go boxes while the staff was busy cleaning tables. We were handed a wet plastic bag to pack up our leftovers, which was an odd way to end the experience. Overall, the food was better than the customer service. We'd still consider stopping again because the food is decent, but we hope the hospitality improves. A more welcoming attitude would go a long way.
