We got Hardy windows several years ago and one of the major selling points was a lifetime warranty on the windows. We have had no issues up until recently. One of our windows broke so I decided to ask them to honor their lifetime warranty. They informed me that the vendor they use for those windows is no longer in business therefore, they will not honor it. I don't think they understand what lifetime warranty means. when I explained to them that I had signed a contract with Hardy windows and not with a vendor, they politely told me to pound sand. We had a large job . They were professional and cleaned up after themselves. Once the installation was complete the windows were shiny and streak-free. I would use them again. Only hitch was that one window broke during installation. They did tape it well, but they cancelled the replacement appointment twice. Luckily, the final payment isn't due until the job is complete. read more

This window company came highly recommended to us from family. The initial process went very smoothly. Tony gave us an estimate and was really friendly. While he was able to give the estimate pretty quick, everything was delayed due to manufacture. The install guys were also friendly. They did the job in estimated time. Once they were done, everything seemed fine. The windows look great. After we stopped in one of our rooms that got new windows, we noticed a sound that I could only describe as a buzzing/trapped air sound. We notified Hardys and they told us it was a manufacturer's problem as it sound liked a weather stripping problem. We reached out to Milgard and they came and assessed. They said the windows don't have an issue and deferred back to installers. Eventually a supervisor came to assess the issue and was initially pretty dismissive. I got him to hear the sound and said something along the lines of the sound would drive him crazy. After discussion, he stated he's never encountered this problem and only thought it could be insulation around the windows. He removed the seal and noted it was missing. I was bummed that a very basic step was missed and lost confidence in their practices. However, I was hopeful this would fix the problem. We scheduled an appointment with them again to fix the problem. On the day of the appointment, all the windows were insulated. The issue was not resolved. Frustrated, I tried to ask if the windows could be redone as the sound is bothersome especially when sleeping. The supervisor said there is no point as he knows it would not solve the issue. However, he could not tell me what the problem was. I think there could have been value in removing and reinstalling the windows as clearly a basic step was missing to begin with by the original installers. The supervisor left that day with no solution. The sound wasn't there before and I feel as if we were left with a problem. I understand things don't always go as planned, but I feel Hardys was unwilling to see this problem out with me nor able to lead me in the right direction (even if I had to pay someone else to fix a different issue). At the conclusion, Hardy's did not offer anything further to resolve the sound. Disappointed as these projects aren't cheap and it was the first project we took on as new homeowners. We had about 10 more windows that we need done, but will not be going with Hardys in the future nor could we recommend them. read more

We had old, beat up windows. Hardy rep came out for an estimate and was aware that we were needing budget friendly windows. The initial measurements, conversations, and in-store visit to see windows was so easy! There was no pressure, there was no up-sell. Of the 3 companies we received quotes from, Hardy was the easiest, most honest, and least pressure. Install day was also to the point and simple. They replaced 9 windows, 2 sliders, and left our house nice and tidy. The workers answered questions I had as they were installing and were happy to do so. Here we are, several months later, and several winter rainy storms- windows and sliders are excellent! They are also great with this hot summer heat. Very happy and highly recommend! read more

Hardy Windows was hired to replace two sliding glass doors and all of our downstairs windows from the original aluminum frames to new vinyl frames. When they first came out the job took double the amount of time we were originally told. The kitchen window was not installed correctly so we had to have them come out again and redo it. The first time it rained the sliding glass door had not been sealed correctly so our dining room carpet got flooded. We called them to have it fixed they came out looked at it said it was our fault and left. So if you like horrible customer service being called a liar and flaky contractors then this is the company for you. I will never recommend this business as we are still trying to get all the water damage caused by the caulking in the sliding door fixed. They are wasting our time. read more

Our windows are over 10 years old, and Hardy has stood by their warranty 100%. After so many years, the wheels on our sliding doors were not working well, and the doors were a bit hard to close. Hardy came out today and replaced the wheels, and our doors look and operate like brand new. So after 10 years we have pretty much new doors. Not bad. Also, the technician was polite, professional, and knowledgeable. He got the job done fast and clean. I'm so glad we have Hardy doors and windows. Essentially, you make an appointment. They send out one of their guys to measure the window. They give you a quote and an estimate of how long it will take cause they have to custom order the windows. Might take a couple of weeks. Installed 4 windows. White Vinyl. They look amazing. Our church in fullerton had a door into the chapel that needed a new lock to secure the space on sunday mornings. This was a need that had not been addressed for many years due to prohibitive costs that door companies quoted. The uptick in recent acts of violence towards houses of worship brought this matter to the top of priorities so as part of the security team, I sought help from hardy windows. First contact was with Brad Leslie who then quickly arranged for Scott Simmons to come out to evaluate the situation. Scott was very professional and helpful in proposing the method of fixing the old door lock. He did a lot of scheduling adjustments so he could have his team do the work in between all the other projects they had to take care of. It took longer than expected since the door was old and the new lock had to be compatible with the other locks but they found the part and Michael finished the job yesterday! Hardy Windows came through for us; working to fix a problem on a door that was not even their product to begin with. Great company and will definitely recommend!! read more

Hi, I've contacted Mark several times needing a latch for one of my sliding glass doors. He replaced all of our windows and sliders a year or two ago. One of the sliders latched into a "doggie door." He did not leave us the latch. Recently our dog went to doggie heaven. We no longer needed the doggie door and called Mark for the latch. We sent him pictures of the latch (from one of our other sliders). He has promised me for a couple of months to replace the latch. He said he doesn't keep paper work past a year, so he's not sure where he purchased the door. He said he would find it through various other means. I've called several times but to no avail. I had my windows installed 10 years ago and they did such a great job, I was really pleased. However, they do not stand behind their 100% lifetime warranty policy so beware. I purchased the higher priced dual pane windows. I now have 4 of the windows that are ruined from water/paint/liquid that has seeped between the glass. Apparently the manufacturer that produced my windows are no longer in business and therefore, Hardy Windows will not replace them. I'm surprised because I was dealing directly with Hardy Windows, not the manufacturer. I am really disappointed in their business ethics. I feel that they should replace each of the damaged windows. They did send a sales person out to my home to inspect the damaged windows but that was the last I heard from them. They never replied to my emails, voice messages nor have they sent me any type of estimate to replace the windows. Hardy Windows was referred to me by the real estate agent that sold me this home so I have also alerted them. read more

Hardy installed 10 large windows in our home and one of the windows leaked water destroying wood casing on inside of house shortly after. They claimed they fixed it and it started to leak again - Now - I'm being told that they do not warranty the window since they are only installers and the window company has gone out of business. Basically they said to try calling the window company that went out of business to see if there's a chance they could resolve my issue. This is very poor and deceptive customer service. I was told they back there product and now I get another story. Shame on them that they have to deceive people. BEWARE when you buy from this company they apparently only install and they will point the finger at something else if something goes wrong. You get 2 stories from them - one when you buy and another when you have issues. Don't make the same mistake that I made. read more

All I can say is, "What a difference new windows make in our house". We had 25 medium to large windows installed, as well as two 8 foot sliding doors. It was a 2 day installation which almost went into 3 days. There was another Hardy crew in our area and they stopped by after their job was finished to help at my house so it would be completed in 2 days instead of 3 days. Excellent. Our windows make our house look/feel new again, not to mention our heater hasn't kicked on once at night since they were installed (and it used to kick on every night at least once). We originally wanted new windows because we're expecting in 8 weeks and wanted our nursery to be somewhat quiet (old single pane window in the nursery). I must say, it's now QUIET in our house and we can't even hear the birds chirping in the morning (usually waking us at 5:30am). The crew cleaned up and vacuumed when they finished. There was some dust/dirt left floating around the house after they left, but I wasn't expecting a "spotless" house after the huge transformation my house just received. read more

I did a total remodel of my house including installing French doors that were installed by Hardy Windows. I dealt with a lot of different trades and contractors throughout the process, if there were issues with any of the contractors they were all resolved by every company with the exception of Hardy. To summarize everything they installed French doors back in August of 2021 without door handles and left the door that way for 4 months. So basically an open hole in the door (I have 3 small kids) They never said they didn't have the door handles before install, they just installed them and told me after. Otherwise I would have waited till they were in. They came 3-4 times during that span to put on handles and each time there were the wrong ones, just kept blaming the manufacturer. The biggest issue I had with them is that they installed doors that were full of scratches, definitely not what a new door should look like. It almost appeared like an abrasive cleaner was used on them. I brought up this issue right away and they stated that wasn't normal for these doors and they would take care of it. Apparently that guy got fired, after him numerous other workers came with same result. In total they probably came out 10 times with about 25-30 emails in between. They finally sent a field supervisor to resolve the issue in early Oct 2022 (14months after install) His name was Mike and he assured me he was there to find a resolution for me and my family. We were excited that this was finally coming to an end, he told we would be hearing from him soon with a timeline. 6 1/2 months go by and nothing, they only notified me for my remaining payment that I hadn't paid because the job wasn't complete. Never once did they apologize or find a resolution for us. 20 months after install and we were just left hanging. If your thinking of installing windows or doors steer clear of this company. Each person I dealt with had no idea of our situation so it felt like we were on a never ending loop of bad communication. After emails back and forth to Zoe Hardy, she had a Cara call us to collect the remaining balance. Apparently they had a conversation about our situation just prior to our phone call. Cara called and said there was nothing they could do for us but that they needed to get paid. She also told me "You shouldn't have waited 20 months to complain". Obviously she had no idea of the situation (see above) even though she just talked to her boss. Cara gave us a whopping $200 off of our 20 month fiasco with still no apology. We paid our balance to not have to deal with the company again, It wasn't worth any more headaches. Just another example of the type of company this is, do yourself a favor and find someone else. read more

Based on how this companies crew drives their work truck I would not trust them any more than I would some day worker outside of Home Depot. Coming home from work in the east bay to south San jose a Hardy truck repeatedly cut me off on first street and Taylor. I attempted to take another route to 87 and got caught at a light. The Hardy 4X4 passed me, the passenger laughing and flipped me off. If they act like this on the road with the company logo on the side of their truck I will assume they would have no hesitation with pocketing valuables while in someone's house or business read more

Hardy windows installed our windows around 10 years ago. During that time till present I had to call them a few times for warranty repair on my windows. Nothing major just worn out parts. Usually when I would call for warranty they would schedule a date for the warranty repair and if the technician had the parts on hand he would repair the windows on the spot however there where a few times that the parts had to be ordered and the technician would return in a timely manner a few days later. Well on 12/13/2018 I walked into the bedroom and the glass window frame was literally fell out from the track towards inside the house. I asked my wife what happen and she did not realize that the windows had fallen out.. I called Hardy window and spoke to Lindsey on 12/13/2018 and I explained that on 12/15/2018 I was leaving town and I needed the window repaired ASAP because I could not turn the house alarm. She took all my information down and repeated all the information back to me and also she had my wife's cell number and repeated the number as well. Lindsey supplied me with great customer service and she assured me that she was going to email Eddie (Service Manager) and Eddie will do his best to try to schedule me in for 12/14/2018. On 12/14/2018 @ approximately 9:30am I spoke with Eddie and explained to him my problem. To my surprise Eddie already had the email pulled up on his computer which was sent by Lindsey the prior day and was aware of the problem and had all my contact information. Eddie moved forward and checked his log to check if any of his technicians where in the area. He stated that all his technician were working in SD and out of state and didn't have any local technicians. I asked Eddie so where do we go from here? Eddie was very quick to response well I'll have to go down there myself. I was so shock with Eddie's response that I had to ask him to repeat himself. He stated I won't be able to get there till noon I told Eddie not a problem. He stated I'll be there between 11:00am and noon. Sure enough he was there! I can't express how grateful I am to Lindsey and Eddie's dedication to Hardy windows customer service. So after 10 years Hardy windows warranty remains excellent. read more
