My favorite place to get cream puffs in bay area!! The best part is they make it in front of us. My favorites are cookie dough puffs with cream and éclairs ( chocolate covered cream puff shells) with vanilla cream. The amount of sweetness is just perfect in ' Beard papa'. me and my family had been coming here for years. i love the crunchy outside and soft inside shells. not a big fan of green tea filling tho. texture's kinda pasty.. they probably use those green tea powders to mix in. their mango filling was fresh and tasty. but my personal favorite is the ORIGINAL. i used to make my own cream puffs at home cause i cudn't stand the over-sweetness of the cream at other bakeries (not to mention some places use whipped cream for fillings yucK xp) i cannot express how much excited i was to discover beard papas after all! :D read more

The cook the puff shells fresh everyday and make the cream fresh too. You pick a shell, pick a cream. And enjoy every awesome bite. My favorite is a delce de leche puff with vanilla bean cream. Omg it is so good. A close second is a chocolate puff with vanilla filling. They also have flavors of the week for the cream. During the holidays they do a pumpkin one. That one is so good. I'm so happy that I don't have to drive to RWC or SF to get my cream puff fix. I went here today for the first time (I know I can't believe I waited that long, too). The store was busy when I came around noon. I ordered 6 vanilla cream puffs (that's the other thing, they are currently only serving vanilla and chocolate only). The girl behind the register told me they ran out of small boxes and would it be okay if she put it in two bags. Sure - why not? They're not going to be in there too long anyways ;) I definitely think they could use a little more staff right now to handle the eager crowds. She went from taking my order to helping assemble some cream puff orders. My cream puff was good, but it is not up there with the other locations in terms of consistency right now. Their cream puffs are amazing. Unfortunately they closed the store in Oakridge mall and the one by SJSU. So this is the only location that I know of that's still open. Hopefully they won't close this one anytime soon. If you have a sweet tooth, you owe it to yourself to try these cream puffs at least once. I then found out they had one in Oakridge Mall, I don't go there much since I live in Fremont but if I was ever in the area i'd always want at least one cream puff. This has quickly been my go-to pick-me-up since moving to the area. Also I highly suggest this as a treat for your co-workers if you want to bring some smiles into the office, it never disappoints! The vanilla filling is my standby, but I've also enjoyed the sesame and chocolate. The green tea is not my favorite (but it is accurately matcha-tasting). For some reason, the boyfriend enjoys it after it's been in the fridge for a day or two, but I prefer the fresh and crunchy pastry as soon as I can grab it from the baker.
