I love these cream puffs. i dont love all cream puffs because they're not my thing, but i love these. the filling choices are wonderful with seasonal rotating flavors. also the fillling is a custard that's so smooth and creamy and refreshing when cold. cold cream puff on a hot day is excellent! try it chocolate dipped. that's my fave and go to item

It's been awhile since I had a vanilla filled chocolate Beard Papa and we had to order some to go. Approximately an hour later, we cut one open and the cream was still cold which went well with our coffee!

Was walking around the plaza when we decided to try Beard Papa's for the first time on a Friday around 7pm. I got one dulce de leche cream puff and it was pretty average. I would have preferred a softer crème puff as the outside was dry and hard, so the cream would almost explode with each bite. I also wish there were more filling options for the shells as they only offer chocolate, vanilla, and green tea. One crème puff was about $5, which is a bit pricey. I don't think I would return

I was working nearby with the crew and I've been waiting to get my hands on a cream puff since the last time.. I knew nobody on my work crew has ever had one so I had to figure out how to let them experience the beard papa magic without breaking the bank. I bought 4 full sized puffs and 2 mini puff cups. I wasn't sure if the mini puffs were big enough from the pictures, because I've never had them. They were definitely shareable and loaded with flavor. There is no sacrifice in going smaller lol. It's located in a super busy shopping center so parking is plentiful yet scarce here. You'll have to make a round or 2 to park but it's not the end of the world. The product and service is definitely well worth it. There's plenty of variety and I haven't been let down yet. This isn't the cheapest guilty pleasure but you'll get your money's worth, for certain. If youre ever in the area to get a BP cream puff, don't pass up your chance. This will turn anyone's day around in a positive way lol.

Horrible Customer Service. I asked the Mexican guy with tattoos which flavor would you prefer... He answers with an attitude " it all depends up to you". No shit Sherlock, I was asking for his suggestion . After the interaction he stares me down like he wants to fight. OWNERS you need to hire more friendly and professional employees. Especially being in this area. This employee is a perfect fit for East San Jose...

What a cute cream puff shop. I was helped pretty quickly upon entering the store. The they had a ton of cream puff shells stacked up and ready to be filled. I ordered a box of 6 for a friend's birthday and I decided to order one for myself. I tried the eclair cream puff with vanilla filling. It was delicious. They are very generous with the filling. The staff were very helpful and the shop is nice and clean on the inside. I'll definitely be back.

Stopped in while in line for Izumi. I would recommend the original with vanilla but the chocolate filling with it i think it good as well. I got the chocolate shell but it wasnt satisfying bc it was too hard and cant really taste the chocolate that much. The service was very good and they answered my questions well. Would recommend for a not too sweet treat!

It was yummy! The filling was more like ice cream. They were large and easily shareable. It was a fun dessert to try if you are in the area.

Beard Papa is such a treat! The staff were friendly and accommodating, and in-store they have more flavors than the app shows (the app also has weird ordering time limits that don't exist in person--definitely could improve that). The matcha filling is a standout--smooth, rich, and delicious. Everything I tried was tasty, nicely packaged, and fresh. The plaza location is nice, with other food options nearby for a little stroll. I loved being able to mix and match fillings and toppings--makes it fun to customize. Hard to pick a favorite, but the matcha cream puff and matcha topping top my list. Eclairs are also excellent. Great spot for customizable cream puff desserts!

I tried their matcha & chocolate cream puffs for the first time and It didn't disappoint. I've never been a fan of sweets, but these were good. My favorite was the matcha cream puff. Great Japanese cream puffs, not overly sweet!

man, i used to be so into cream puffs back in my youth. ok i'm not that old (yet) LOL, but i haven't had beard papa's in a hot minute. the puffs are still delicious, but i have to say they're definitely more expensive now and seem smaller than i remember. i swear they used to feel bigger than my hand; though to be fair, i was a small child when i used to get them. the cream would be overflowing everywhere and it was messy (but fun) to eat hehe. those days are in the past now...

We went to Bear Papa's yesterday. We've tried Beard Papa's back home but only went a few times. We didn't think it was that great. We were kind of skeptical at first since the ones we had in the past were so-so. They had a lot of different choices for the fillings and shells. We got one strawberry shortcake with strawberry cream inside, original with cream, and original with chocolate. The cream puffs were so good. They had a lot of cream in it. I enjoyed my strawberry shortcake one. I tried my daughter's one with the chocolate cream and it was good too. I just looked it up and it looks like they don't have a Beard Papa's in Hawaii anymore, sad face. I'll just have to come and check out Beard Papa's when we come back up again.

Yummy! Haven't been in years and decided to go in for a treat after picking up a few groceries next door. The two gentlemen working were friendly and greeted us with a smile. We ordered the mini puffs to go and chose vanilla and chocolate. I wanted to try green tea but you have to order two of same flavor and I just wanted one. The gentleman graciously gave me an extra one, green tea. It's a quaint little shop with minimum decor. It would be nice if they had a few chairs to rest weary feet as we wait for our order but it does go quick. We waited less than ten minutes as there were two ahead of us. The mini cream puffs are the right size for a little treat. They are filled with fresh cream and have a nice soft crunch on the outside. Oishi! Highly recommend.

Yummy! Very fast and friendly service. Very reasonably priced. My cream puff filling was runny and messy but still good.

Ask the Community - Beard Papa's

Could I order online and do curbside pick up?

Yes

Is this business taking phone calls? The phone keeps ringing or disconnects immediately...

The same happened to me as well so I came in person. On the day I went, they were late to open, only had two people working, and my online order was cancelled. They could be overwhelmed and/or under staffed.

How often do u make the milk tea flavor? And if I do an order of a dozen or 2 dozen of mini puff, would u be able to make that seasonal/temporary flavor and another another regular flavor? e.g., 12 milk tea and 12 green tea to make a 2 dozen?

It's seasonal. No milk tea flavor. This month (Oct) is caramel pumpkin then next month is apple.

I ordered the Yumberry Yogurt Drink, Peach Gum Drink, and Grape Yogurt Drink. I got all of them at 30% sweetness, and they were still pretty sweet, so I'd recommend ordering them with even less sugar if you prefer drinks that aren't overly sweet. Even though they're always busy with orders, it wasn't crowded inside. I was able to find a seat since most people just grab their drinks and leave. The drinks are very fruit-forward and taste incredibly fresh and high quality. If you enjoy fruity drinks, this place is definitely worth trying. My favorite was the Yumberry Yogurt Drink because it was so unique--I've never had anything quite like it before. It reminded me a bit of a mulberry drink with a creamy yogurt twist, and I'd definitely order it again.

It's also great for sharing a few different flavors with friends. On this visit, I ordered the Strawberry Mango Snow with extra condensed milk. Both were refreshing, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Ordering was quick and convenient through the self-service kiosk, and our desserts were ready within just a few minutes. The process was smooth and efficient, making it an easy place to stop by for a quick treat. Another thing I appreciated was the spacious seating area. There was plenty of room to sit and chat, making it a great spot to catch up with friends over dessert. The toppings on the snow dessert were generous and complemented the shaved ice perfectly. Overall, if you're looking for a lighter, more manageable portion of bingsoo that still delivers on flavor, I would definitely recommend checking this place out. The desserts are delicious, the service is quick, and the atmosphere makes it a great place to relax and enjoy something sweet.

We ended up going again the next day to try it. We ordered the Premium Strawberry Sulbing and the Mozzarella Injeolmi Toast. The bingsoo was delicious and not too sweet, loaded with fresh strawberries and a big cheesecake wedge. It's especially great for a hot summer day. We walked into a clean, modern space with a casual café feel that works well for stopping by after a meal or meeting up with friends for something sweet. The shop focuses on creative variations of bingsu with toppings ranging from fruit to chocolate, matcha, and other dessert-inspired flavors, and the layout encourages lingering over a shared dessert rather than rushing through a quick stop. The biggest highlight is the texture of the shaved ice itself. The ice is extremely soft and light, melting quickly while still holding the flavors from the toppings and condensed milk. We ordered the Injeolmi Sulbing, which showcases the more traditional side with nutty flavors, and the combination of the fine ice, chewy rice cake, and nutty powder created a dessert that felt both refreshing and satisfying. The Tiramisu and Chocolate Brownie Sulbing turn it into a much more indulgent experience, with richer flavors that feel closer to a full dessert than a light treat. The presentation is impressive, with each bowl arriving looking carefully composed, and the layers of toppings are distributed well enough that you get a good mix in every spoonful. The portions are also a major part of the appeal. A single bingsu is easily shareable, making it a good choice for groups or anyone looking for a dessert to split after a meal. We found that sharing worked well, as the portion was generous enough to satisfy two people without feeling like we were missing out. Beyond bingsu, they also offer items like toast and other sweet treats, which give the menu more variety and make it a place you can visit even if you are not in the mood for shaved ice. The main thing to keep in mind is that the experience depends heavily on the flavor you choose. Some versions rely more on the toppings for their flavor, while others feel more balanced throughout. The presentation is impressive, but certain options may feel less satisfying if you expect every bite to have the same intensity as the first. The fruit-based versions, for example, rely on the freshness of the fruit to carry the dessert, while the chocolate and tiramisu versions have a more consistent richness from the base itself. Sulbing is a great spot for trying Korean-style shaved ice. The unique texture, large portions, and variety of flavors make it stand out from typical dessert shops, especially if you enjoy lighter desserts with creative toppings. The balance of refreshing and indulgent options across the menu gives you room to explore different styles on repeat visits, and the quality of the ingredients makes each bowl feel considered and well composed.
