I stopped by to grab a half gallon of Thai iced tea for a get together later. Luckily, they were having a 20% off deal, so yay for me! This used to be my favorite 7Leaves location - I'd stop by and grab a drink (or several, if co-workers wanted something) before heading into work. 7Leaves is one of the only milk tea shops around that are open early enough, so I took advantage of that. However, I've noticed that the quality has been slipping for the past few months. This visit was a prime example of that. Staff was fine - helpful and quick. They took my order and got everything ready in a short amount of time. The problem was with my order - a half gallon of the Thai iced tea, easy sweet. For whatever reason, I didn't get a cup holder for my cups of ice and everything was thrown into a bag. I should of asked for one, but I figured it wouldn't be that big of a deal. Wrong - the cups popped their lids and ice got all over the bag and leaked into my car. Okay - again, no big deal. Ice will melt, just gotta clean it up. I finally get home and noticed that the Thai ice tea was really light in color - not that red/orange-color that is so typical of Thai tea. I didn't think too much about it, stuck it in the fridge and got ready for my get together. Once I opened it later, I realized it tasted more like milk than Thai iced tea. I asked my friends to try because maybe it was just me - nope. The half gallon was mostly milk with hints of Thai ice tea - not the strong flavor I loved from 7Leaves. We didn't finish it since it was milky. Such a bummer - I was really looking forward to my Thai tea! Not sure how 7Leaves drinks are measured, but it seems like their recipes vary from location to location recently. There should be some standard of measurement so my easy sweet isn't too sweet at one location while just milk at another. read more

I am a loyal 7 leaves customer, I'm addicted to it. I used to visit this location regularly since they opened for a quick grab and go since I worked down the street . Anyway, I happen to be by Valleyfair the other day, so I grabbed a couple drinks from this location. I had to use the washroom and I was instantly DISGUSTED with what I saw. I am not exaggerating when I say I've seen gas stations and fast food restaurants with cleaner bathrooms . It looked as if they haven't cleaned it in YEARS. The toliet has stains all over, including on the outside of the bowl. With streaks running down. The sink has layers of buildup- basically grey / yellow. Thinking about it makes me want to vomit. At this point, they need to hire a professional cleaner to fix it or get a new toilet and sink. It makes me wonder how clean is the back kept if they're okay with clients seeing the bathroom like that . I would've taken a photo but Honestly, it was so nasty i couldn't. One thing about me is that if I'm in San Jose fiending for caffeine, I will look up the nearest 7 Leaves and go! After a busy day with my friend, I took us for a caffeine fix before driving us back home. This 7 Leaves Cafe is a small but mighty spot! It's on the smaller end compared to others. It's more of a grab-and-go with about five tables to sit or work at. While we were yapping, the other customers were busy studying or working. I found that the drinks didn't come out as fast as at other locations, and the service wasn't the most friendly. I enjoyed a Regular Japanese Matcha with Soy Milk and Honey Boba--easy sweet, and easy ice. I love the sizes because a regular is so big, and the prices are reasonable. My matcha was sweet (7 Leaves Easy Sweet is still super sweet), creamy, and light on the matcha taste. The boba quality was good. My friend enjoyed her Hot Jasmine Milk Tea. They have limited hot drink offerings, just a heads up. There are a handful of 7 Leaves Cafe throughout SJ and this one in West SJ is convenient for those living, working, or studying in the area. Since they first came up from SoCal 5 years ago, 7Leaves now has multiple locations throughout San Jose. This location was the second one they opened. Thankfully gone are the days of waiting in hour long lines. Ordering through their app gives you rewards points (leaves) and it is painless! There's a decent amount of parking in this plaza. It is conveniently located off of Saratoga and close to 280. To me, it feels that this location has the fastest pickup times in comparison to the other locations. The shop only has 4 small tables and generally has been quiet every time I visited. Would be great for studying or chatting with friends. The Matcha Soy Tea was good as usual. Easy sweet is the lowest option you can go for their drinks' sugar level. I would also recommend their Strawberry Hibiscus Tea and Love Cream (off their secret menu). Sea Cream Black Coffee is a perfect way to start the day with a good cup of coffee and the sea salt cream topping gives the coffee a great mouthfeel and richness to the drink. The sweetness is just right and the sea salt enhances it well. Easy to drink and good amount of caffeine. Whenever they have the Garlic Cream Cheese Brioche, I get it. I have gone to this location quite a few times in the past year or so, and I've always been satisfied by what I've ordered. My go-to drink is the House Coffee, which I think is a refined take on traditional Vietnamese coffee. The sweetness, bitterness, and other flavors are really well balanced. I prefer hot drinks, but this is also good iced. I haven't explored the menu much, but the "Black and Tan" (app exclusive..) is a fun mix of coffee and tea. I also must specially call out the Santa's House Coffee, which adds chocolate sea cream and peppermint bits to the House Coffee and makes it an almost-perfect drink! If only it was available year-round... I usually order to-go, but I have only good things to say about the location and staff. My drinks are always ready by the scheduled time. I've always heard about 7 leaves and I was finally near one and got to try it. I got the mung bean milk tea with boba and a taro milk tea with boba. We were told they're both sweet drinks so we lowered the sweetness on both. I didn't try the taro but I enjoyed the mung bean. It was still sweet after getting less sweet but we were told it would be like that. I would definitely come back if I end up being around again but I wouldn't come out just to get it. Efficient service, didn't have to wait too long to order or for our drinks to come out. My husband and I both ordered the Assam milk tea and enjoyed it quite a bit. The cafe was decorated nicely and clean. For the Bay Area, the size of the drinks is pretty generous. It's not too expensive either for how much you get--we both ordered large for the milk teas and were surprised by how much bigger the cups were compared to other places. For reference, at boba places like MACU, 2 large drinks come out to over $15 for us, whereas 2 large drinks here at 7 Leaves is just a bit over $13. Will be coming here more! read more
