I went to visit Brook at Bearded Goat this past week. It was my first time in, and I really had a great experience. The place is clean, bright, and has a great groove - music playing not too loudly, and very nicely laid out. Brook is awesome! We had a great chat and I got a great cut! I really thought for a min about writing this review, as I am the most understanding customer but I think it's important to share my experience. I am only giving 2 stars because the place was nice, the cold brew was good, and the haircut was good but I can't say I will go back in the future. As a first time customer and new in the neighborhood, I was excited to check this place out esp after all the great reviews. Called and got an appointment with Ken the next day, prob his first customer of the day. He was very rude, and perhaps not having the best morning/day - which we all have from time to time, but I still can't justify his behavior. I was wearing a hat, and I took it off and place it on the table infront of the barber chair, and he moved it to the table next to it but threw the hat in a very rude way, I also put down my cold brew glass on the same table, and he moved it again and said, 'CAN YOU NOT PUT IT NEAR MY TOOLS!!' I was appalled that he even said that to a brand new customer when he hasn't even introduced himself yet. I really am the easiest customer to please, and I would have easily place all my stuff where I am supposed to if I was told nicely and perhaps I don't know maybe had been greeted like a customer??!?!! Since this incident had happened within 1 min of the cut, I knew the experience was not going to be enjoyable, as much as I had hoped otherwise. As I said, the cut was great and everyone seemed quite nice and lovely, but first impressions are everything. And everyone has bad days, I get it but when you're in customer service oriented industry, it speaks volume of how you treat your customers, esp the new ones. I did give him a tip because he knows what he's doing and I enjoyed the haircut, but I will never return to Ken or this barber shop again. Very disappointed about my experience, and even more disappointed that I had to write this review. read more

These guys are great. I have had haircuts from three of the barbers and all three are great. Eric, Jon and Riz can all get it done. They shape you up and have you looking amazing! The only issue I have had is since they are so good they are usually pretty booked. Which is why I have ended up using so many barbers. I log on and just see who has the first opening and sign up. Over all great shop. Happy place. Always a positive vibe. Great conversation and very welcoming. They offer you water and hang your coats. Another great thing is the shampoo at the end. My 9 year old son hates haircuts and resists getting them as much as possible. I think a lot of it is because he rarely gets a haircut he loves. So we took a gamble on the Bearded Goat and will never go back to ordinary barbers. Ken is an artist, taking time to make sure the cut was not only perfect, but that it was what my son wanted. The Bearded Goat is more expensive than your ordinary barber ($40), but the extra cost is well worth it for the extraordinary effort their barbers put into their work and how good my son feels about the final product. The best hair cut I have ever had in my life . This place is the bomb , excellent vibe , beautiful barber shop with modern decor and skilled barbers. As ladies say " treated like a princess" I feel like I was treated like a king, I felt like Rob Stark getting cleaned upon king's arrival . Decided to treat myself in the new year with a hot shave for the first time ever. Nick was very personable and his attention to detail was astounding. I told him about the issues I've been having getting my mustache just right and he spent a good amount of time meticulously snipping it as if it was a bonsai, getting it just perfect. I'm more cautious with Covid than most people since all my family members work in NYC hospitals. Having said that, I just got my haircut at the bearded goat and I felt safe the whole time. I just had a great experience at Bearded Goat Barber. Today was my first visit to the shop, and I got my hair cut by Jon, one of the shop owners. The cut was perfect - exactly what I was looking for. I have some cowlicks that tend to get unwieldy after a few weeks, especially if a barber doesn't blend them well. I'm hopeful and confident that I won't have to worry about that based on the way they were cut and blended. Jon also gently pushed back on length I initially requested, and he was right to do so. BGB is an amazing spot to get your cut. Everyone in the area knows Eric and Jon are top notch - but now they've added more of the same with the other barbers. Got my cut last week from Angela and she rocked it. In addition to the quality, she was engaging and brought all the good vibes. The shop itself is amazing. Cold Brew on tap, water, and massive TVs.
