I've been to Freedom A La Cart several times and can't believe this is my first review! It's a really cute and cozy cafe that sells fresh salads, sandwiches, and breakfast. The place isn't huge, but there's room to dine in with friends or bring your laptop and get some work done over lunch. Their dark green chop salad is my favorite . The crispy onions, feta, bacon, and dilly beans are a great combo. I always add chicken for extra protein. It's a light, but filling meal for a busy day. read more

The black bean breakfast burrito came with a fresh salsa verde. The "freedom latte" had lovely housemade rosemary and orange syrup. I also enjoyed a side order of the most delicious candied bacon I have ever had. I don't even like bacon that much, but I could have eaten several more slices. This is a charming coffee house with excellent coffee drinks and very good food. It is bright and airy. There are a few tables with seating and a long communal high-top counter/table with stools. The coffee was delicious and, if you have a sweet tooth, don't miss the incredible Buckeye coffee drink, which may have a few pounds of sugar in it. The avocado toast was fantastic and a work of art and the quiche was wonderful, too. The food menu is more extensive than you will find at most coffee houses. I've had baked goods from here in the past, but this is my first time actually being able to check the place out. The service was great, and all of the workers were kind. I went with a black bean burrito, which I'm glad was already vegetarian and it was actually really good many times when I have a black bean burger at other places it's just packed with majority, black beans and not much else. I also got their chocolate cayenne croissant, and I had no idea what to expect but it was really good. It had just the right amount of kick. I also got the rosemary olive oil slice, which was also really good. I loved the glaze on it and it had the perfect amount of denseness. Such a nice place to dine! This was such a pleasant surprise to see a place with so much attention to detail, right when you pull up to the building there's a beautiful mural on the side of the building. Inside is so nicely decorated with a very clean and bright esthetic. The food menu has many delicious choices to choose from along with nice pastries and uniquely flavored lattes. I was sad we already planned to visit a coffee shop afterwards or then I would have loved to try one of their lattes. I got the breakfast sandwich and my wife got the blueberry chia yogurt bowl. The service was pretty fast and very friendly. We both split our meals with each other and both dishes tasted excellent. The egg soufflé was tender yet still had a bite and texture to it, the rosemary fragrant all on a flaky croissant that was soft but still held up to the sandwich. I've been going to this cafe for about a year and a half now. It's one of my absolute favorites to visit downtown on my lunch break. All of the ladies working there are friendly and your purchases go toward a great cause as many of their proceeds support survivors of human trafficking. The cafe is cute, airy, well-decorated, and always with awesome music to vibe to while you eat. Literally have never had a bad drink here! We were looking for something with vegan options. This appeared to have more than they actually had available when we looked on their site. No worries! The experience of learning about the organization made up for it! The location is absolutely beautiful. I would maybe describe it as zen. Very calming. Not a ton of traffic going by the large windows and a quiet hum of conversation. In Dayton, we have a "chain" of coffee shops that employ individuals in recovery with the coffee shop as a nonprofit micro business. Freedom A La Cart is similar- supporting survivors of Trafficking. I absolutely love the mission!! I have been thinking of them since we visited and have been trying to think of ways to have food delivered to friends, order cookies from far away, etc. Our coffee was pretty and tasted great. Cute little cafe in downtown! I walked here from my hotel after reading about this Lemon Aioli and Rosemary-Lemon Sausage, I knew I had to have it. I placed my order online and headed over. It's super cute and isn't incredibly busy in the area where it's located. It also has its own parking lot which is a plus! My order was ready as soon as I arrived. I ordered the Rosemary Breakfast Sammich. Yum! Totally unique and unlike any breakfast sandwich I've had. Super flavorful, and the marriage of the flavors betwixt the fresh baked croissant bun. You serve your own water from a communal carafe off to the side and place your own dishes in bins when you're done. I tried the judge sandwich off of the lunch menu and really enjoyed it. It is made with dark meat/rotisserie meat, not chicken breast, which isn't my favorite but I think all of the toppings were thoughtful and complimentary. A friend and I split the breakfast Sammie with rosemary sausage and egg on croissant. The croissant was more like a flaky biscuit - so good! We also split the breakfast burrito which had salsa verse and chorizo. Also good but a bit spicy. The cafe itself is bright and calming with fresh flowers. I always walk by this place and want to try it. I finally did, and I wasn't disappointed. We ordered the breakfast sandwich, and the chicken sandwich. Finding Freedom a la Cart was a happy accident. I have stayed at the Courtyard on Spring street numerous times, but I had never ventured down the road passed the other side of High street. There was an exit closed when I drove into town, forcing me to drive on Spring longer than I typically do. I noticed a cafe sticking out on its lonesome that looked absolutely adorable, and I made a resolution to walk down and try it before my trip was over. I walked over one drizzly morning to find Freedom bustling. It was a pleasant surprise since freedom is freeform - there are no buildings connected to it, and the nearest businesses are Firestone and Goodyear down at the other corner of the block. The interior is functional, cute, and minimal. There are no gimmicky coffee stations with fourteen different sugar substitutes, or abstract works of art trying to disguise as chairs. There's ample normal seating given the space, a spacious counter to order from, and a thorough large menu that'll help you make your decision without giving yourself a headache from squint reading. I'm a savory breakfast gal and was happy to see a plethora of options. I chose their rosemary breakfast sandwich and a cold brew with cream and SF vanilla. I also had to try their special roasted potatoes with garlic aioli. I am always onboard with a menu item that'll help keep the vampires away. I was so happy to see their food was made from scratch. I had an inkling it was anyway since their original catering business is attached, but there's no way these roasted fingerlings came out of a bag. My dad helped me with the potatoes since the sandwich was pretty hefty. I LOVE homemade sausage and the arugula and lemon aioli worked well without overpowering. My coffee was also delicious with the perfect amount of sweetness. I have no clue where all these people were coming from that came in, but I'm happy they did. It's clear that whoever owns Freedom puts their heart, soul, and a lot of love into the food. I'm definitely putting Freedom high on the list of coffee shops to visit when in Columbus! read more

Amazing ambiance. The restaurant was just opening up at 8am when we arrived. The staff was friendly and ready to serve. It's the type of environment where you feel like Colbie Callait would be playing in the background always. I had the quiche for breakfast and a London fog. The quiche was fluffy and delicious. The salad was an unexpected treat because I didn't expect it to come with the quiche (to be fair, I didn't actually read the menu). The London fog was perfect and tasty. Absolutely thrilled to have this little spot open downtown. I live about 5 minutes away driving, and I walk by all the time. I had known that it was moving to this space for a while and I was finally able to visit last week. They have a cute patio out front and a small parking lot around the back. The inside is decorated nicely and I love the wall of spoons behind the booth seating. I ordered an oat milk vanilla latte and my friend ordered a strawberry and goat cheese croissant and a breakfast sandwich. My drink was incredibly delicious and I sipped it down to the very last drop. Just writing this I'm wanting to go back for another. I also nibbled on the croissant and it was fantastic. I loved the combo of strawberries and goat cheese. I didn't eat the sandwich but I've attached a photo here for your reference. It was huge and looked amazing. My friend said it's the second best in the city and in a city full of awesome breakfast sammies, that's a statement. I'll definitely be ordering it on my next visit. This is a great spot of joy on this corner of downtown and I highly recommend you pay them a visit soon. This is a restaurant with a great mission. The goal is to help empower survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation build lives of self-sufficiency and sustainability. It is a safe space where those survivors can heal and start to find a good place for themselves in Columbus. The space is bright and happy, clean, well lit, and welcoming. Recently tried Freedom A La Cart to cater a 75 person event, and am so upset that I didn't discover them sooner. I was so incredibly pleased with the entire experience, start to finish. The food was delicious and beautifully plated, and at our event multiple people commented on how good the catering was. It wasn't until part way through the evening that I learned about Freedom A La Cart's mission statement to employ and empower survivors of sex trafficking, which I am moved and fully supportive of.
